burn the fat, feed the muscle

Yes but is it new and good information? Anything new and earth shattering? I always read the same ifo just written differently that is why I ask.

Thanks

Terri

I'm in the same boat as you, Terri. The fact that this "book" is an online book turns me off. I like a hard copy (that I don't print myself) to refer to.

Anyway, there was an entire thread about this book a short while ago. I'd recommend doing a search on it. A lot of people had a lot to say about it, almost all good. HTH!

I'm not crazy about the idea of it being an online book, either, but would love to see what it has to say. I'm afraid of paying the money and then somehow not figuring out how to get everything to work just right!

Do you think anyone will be nice enough to share that info???:) :) :)

If I told you, I'd have to kill you!

Seriously, the top foods are the ones we always hear and read about. Off the top of my head because my book is at home.

Protein:
Chicken
Turkey
Fish
Lean beef (flank steak for instance)

Carbs (starchy):
potatoes (sweet and white)
Brown rice

Carbs (non starchy):
Broccoli
cauliflower
asparagus
green beans
spinach

Any no fat or non fat dairy

Fruit. Most kinds but watch how much because of fructose.

Aboslutely no ice cream. It's a mortal sin. The reason is when you consume a simple carb (sugar) with fat it does all kinds of bad things to your body. Also avoid Peanut Butter cups like Reese's.

There's really no magic in the book but lots and lots of information. Basically, you have to work just as hard or harder on your nutrition as you do with working out. Nothing we haven't heard before but EVERYTHING we've heard all in one book. It's fantastic.

P.S. He recommends protein powder...if it helps you to get in your protein but he does not like protein bars due to high sugar content of most.

I'm also a big "Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle" fan. No baloney (literally!) - just a lot of straight, clear, practical info.

Candi's almost got all the foods. It's

Top foods:

Oatmeal - balanced carbs/protein/fat
Sweet potatoes/yams
Potatoes (combine with lean protein if you're watching carbs)
Brown rice
100% whole wheat/whole grain products
Green fibrous veggies
Fruit - great for nutrients and "safe" as long as you're eating plenty of complex carbs and protein
Skim milk & nonfat dairy - lean protein
Poultry breast
Egg whites
Fish/shellfish
Lean red meat

Bad foods:

Reader's digest version: Anything with a lot of fat, refined sugar, processed or that's especially yummy!

Ice cream
Fried food
Donuts and pastries
White sugar - candy, chocolate etc.
Soda (nondiet)
Fruit "drink" and other sweetened beverages
Bacon, sausage
White bread
Potato chips, tortilla chips
Hot dogs, fast food burgers
Cookies/cakes/pies
Sugary breakfast cereals

Joni and Candi -

Thanks for being so generous and sharing the info, although you're both right: it's the usual list that you always hear about! Thanks again!
