Buff Badgers Week of Sept. 30th

Hi Ladies! Sorry I didn't check in much last week. I did get in most of my workouts but I just didn't get a chance to post. Did I tell you that I signed up for a 5K with my coworkers. Well, DH has told me that I should be doing the rock bottoms rotation that I should be focused on increasing my cardio and running 3 days a week. I figured that I could focused on running for October but it has taken me 3 weeks to finish 2 weeks of the rotation so I am going to listen to DH and start the rotation over at a later date. I will say that I could see some changes. I think my legs responded to something different as I don't normally do floorwork. The biggest challenge for me will be switching to evening workouts because that is when I will be able to run. The race is the first weekend of November so I know DH is right and I need to start preparing for i.t My colleagues are doing C25K and I think they are on week 4. They run right after work. I prefer to run with DH and bring my son home so he can do his homework.

This morning was the cardio from BodyMax 2.

Good morning. Saturday I did All Out Low Impact Hiit. Sunday was just the combos from KPC. Right now I'm stalling going downstairs to do D2S Phase 2 Strength 2. It's the last week of Phase 2 and I must admit I'm pretty sick of Phase 2, though I think it's because I got stuck here so long with that cold.

But... I'm continuing to see new muscle definition in my legs, shoulders, and back, so that will keep me truckin' to the end.

Heartymax- Have fun with the running. This time of year I'm always interested in running a bit because the temps are so comfortable. Like you, I'd have to switch to evening workouts to do it consistently, and I have trouble with that.

Have a great day, everyone.

Good Afternoon!

I didn't get any workouts in this weekend. I don't know that last time was that happened. :) I was at work a little before 5am on Saturday and got done a 7:30 pm. It was a very long day. I was going to workout out on Sunday but DH had his BF come over to help him work on my workout corner so I did some yard work and counted that as my workout. ;)

This is supposed to be my active recovery week but you know how well I do at that. With not having worked out the last two days I wanted to do something harder so I did Afterburn. It felt tough but good!

I haven't looked at all but I heard that hte new DVD's shipped out. I have tracked mine at all to see where it's at. How exciting!!! Can't wait to get them to preview and try.

Hearty - Good luck with the running. I'm always jealous of people that run because I can't. Good thing I was never a big fan of running otherwise it would bother me more.

Sam - You'll get through Phase 2. :) When you started doing the Paleo diet, did you get a book to help you out with food choices and receipes? With the changes of my eating, it's along those lines so I would like more info on it.

Enjoy the rest of your day!!

Good Morning!!

This morning was Hardstrikes and Core #1. Had a great workout. I visualized someone I work with that is pretty much a jerk and used him as my visual punching bag. :) That's not wrong is it? ;)

Have a great day!!

Hello! Today I did Party Rockin Step #1! I got my new workouts right after I checked in yesterday. It was a lot of fun, but very complex. I'll probably need to do it a couple more times before I completely get it. I've previewed a lot of the other ones and they all look very high energy, especially X10

Brenda- I think you're going to LOVE Rockout Knockout. It looks right up your alley. I think that'll be my cardio on Thursday. It's like Hard Strikes and KPC got married and had a baby ;) I've done the same thing during boxing workouts, though I'm usually thinking of a particular problem I'm having instead of a specific person. Very therapeutic :D

Hi Hearty!

Have a great day, everyone!

I added on a 1.5 mile run with DH last night after doing BodyMax in the morning. My body was so tired. I am transitioning to my evening runs so no morning workouts---unless I am strength training I guess.

Just finished 3 miles with DH this evening. The run was much easier than yesterday as I was so exhausted already.

Sam---I ordered the two step workouts and I can't wait to try them. I hope the step is not too complex. I hate it when I can't get it after a couple of tries.

Brenda--ROTFL at your punching bag:eek:

Brenda- Yesterday I forgot to tell you the Paleo resources I used. Two cookbooks I bought and liked were "Paleo Comfort Foods" and "Everyday Paleo". But, I used the internet a lot more. Some of my favorite websites were: Cavegirl Cuisine, The Civilized Caveman, Chowstalker, Fast Paleo, Nom Nom Paleo, and PaleOMG.

I don't consider myself paleo at the moment, but I still like the recipes and use the above resources pretty regularly.

Good Evening Ladies!!

This morning I did CrossFire. It kicked my butt more than usual. Probably because I've been very tired this week and been congested more in the morning.

I'm supposed to get the new DVD's on Thursday. I can't wait!!!

Sam - I might have to try Rockout Knockout on Saturday. I can't wait for that one. The step ones I always like to preview first before attempting them. A gal I work with did FlexTrain and she said it was awesome. Thanks for the Paleo info. I'll have to check out some of those sites.

Hearty - Keep up the good work on the running. After working out in the morning for so many years, I think I'd have a hard time transitioning to evening workouts. It seems to be working for you though. Must be nice to run with your DH.

Going to try and go to be earlier tonight and get some more sleep.

Have a great night!

Hello!

This morning I did Tabatacise level 2, 4, and 5 and then did Med ball abs from STS and then stretched my legs some more.

Hopefully when I get home today I will have the new workout DVD's. I'm so excited!!

Hope everyone is having a good day!

Hello! This morning I did Rockout Knockout. It was super fun. My favorite part was probably the "cardio with gloves" section in the middle. I wore my weighted gloves and had a nice burn going in my arms by the time that section was over. The combos at the end were like dessert, not super high intensity, but fun to do. There are a lot of double-kicks in this workout. I'm going to have to work on those because I always feel like a total klutz when they show up.

Brenda- I have not attempted all of Crossfire in a long time. I know that my cardio capacity is down right now from focusing so much on weights and it would completely slay me right now. Have fun previewing your DVDs! I also have to preview step.

Heartymax- The #1 workout is pretty complex, but if you can do HIS from 4DS you can do it. Or that last combo in Low Impact Challenge. #2 looks like a ton of fun and it's way less dancy. I think I'll do that one either as a second workout tomorrow or on Saturday. It's amazing how much I want to work out when I have new DVDs!

Have a great day, everyone!

Happy Friday!!

I got my DVD's yesterday!! First one I previewed was Rockout Knockout and that is what I did this morning. I have a lot of fun with it. Real high energy music.

Sam - There was one of the combos at the end that I kept myself mixed up on and kept using the wrong leg. By the time I got to the other side I was getting it.

Hi Hearty!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
Brenda

Happy Friday! I am DONE with D2S Phase 2! On to Phase 3.... which I previewed and found out there ARE rear-elevate split squats! Argh! But.... there are more reps and she encourages you to use lighter weights or no weights at all, so that's something.

Brenda- I kept screwing up the first combo because she starts with the "back" arm. I'm sure I'll pick up on it eventually, but I know what you mean.

I'm off to eat lunch and clean the house. Blech. Have a great weekend, everyone!

Hi Ladies! I got my new Cathe workouts yesterday! :) Today I sat down and wrote up a month rotation using only those. I start tomorrow and take a rest day after every 4th day. I start with Knockout! I know it'll be a favorite. :D

See you all next week! I am so excited!!!!
