Good Morning!

I hope everyone had a good weekend. Mine was nice. Actually didn't completely over exert ourselves. We had massages Saturday afternoon and then had dinner and went a Streetdance with DH's sister & BIL. We had a nice time. Yesterday with the raining cool day, I did my grocery shopping in the morning, did my laundry, and got much needed paperwork done. I was working on looking up cost of things that I want/need for the business. One big thing I need is a decent computer. Mine is about on it's last leg.

This morning was the start of week 3 of Mesocycle 2. Today was one of the longer workouts so glad it fell on a day I was off, Had chest, shoulders, and triceps. Felt like I had real good strength today.

Hopefully today I will get some of my veggie garden cleaned up and pull some of the stuff that is done for the season. Have tomatoes I have to pick. Between today and tomorrow I'm going to take a picture of my parents for this idea that I had to put together for them to give all us kids for Christmas. I always help my mom with ideas every year for what to get all of us for Christmas. My sisters always laugh at me cause when we open up gifts I pretend to look surprised and they know I was involved in it.

Have a great day!!

Hi everyone! Well, the only workout I reported last week was the only one I got done. This cold does not want to give up on me. I still have a little junk in the back of my throat and in my chest, but my cough is pretty much gone, and my nose is only running a tiny bit.

I decided to go back to Phase 2 Week 2 since I only got half the workouts done from that week. Today I did Strength 2. I lowered my weights a bit, but I still felt pretty weak and shaky. I actually didn't finish the "finisher" at the end.

One of the exercises in this workout is giving me trouble. It's a rear-foot elevated lunge. I've done them in other workouts, but they have HUGE range of motion, way bigger than in any workout I've ever done. Their back knees almost touch the floor. I can't decide if I should go heavier with the weight and stay in the range of motion I'm used to, or if I should go lighter and try to go as deep as they do. Any advice?

Brenda- I'm glad you had a relaxing weekend for once. The good thing about needing a new computer is computer shopping! Yay!

I'm getting excited about Cathe's new workouts. The step ones, as I suspected, are right up my alley!

Have a great day, everyone.

Saturday was a 2.5 mile run so I picked back up with Plyo Legs in the rotation today. Coworkers asked me to join them for a 5k so I plan to get registered. The run is in November.

Good Morning!

This morning I did HiiT 30/30 and 8 blasts only from Imax 2. I wanted to try and do the last two blasts buy my legs were burning and heart rate was rockin. I decided to cool down and do the stretch.

Sam - Those gosh darn colds. Glad you are finally starting to feel better. IMO on the elevated lunges, maybe try going lighter with the weights and see how it feels by going deeper in the movement but if that puts too much strain on your knee or feels to uncomfortable, I would stick with heavier weights and move within your range of motion. Remember though that you really shouldn't go below 90 degrees as that puts a lot of strain on the knee. You need to do what works for you, yet challenges you.

Hearty - Great job on the workouts. Those walking lunges make my butt hurt just thinking about them. :)

Make it a great day!

Hi ladies! Today was D2S Phase 2 Strength 1. Good workout. I'm going with lighter weights and trying to match the ladies in the video for range of motion. The elevated lunges weren't in this workout, but squats were, and they truly do deep, gym style squats. It definitely felt harder even though I wasn't going as heavy. Also, I think it's official: Single-Leg Romanian Deadlifts are my favorite exercise :)

Brenda- Thanks for the advice. That's sort of what I was leaning toward and what I tried today. I'll see how it goes on Friday with the lunges.

Heartymax- You're exhausting me with these walking lunges! Way to go!

Have a great day, everyone.

Hello,

Today was week 3 of Meso2 legs. They are feeling it.

I'm going to schedule an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon about scraping some of the arthritis away in my hip joint to prolong hip replacement. I think the same thing is starting on my right leg but not nearly as bad. If I decide to go ahead with this, I'd like to do it at the end of the year during the holidays when I have time off.

Hi Hearty!

Have a great night!
Brenda

Brenda--I didn't realize you were having major problems with your hip. My co-worker just had a hip replacement surgery this summer. Sending you well wishes with the orthopedic surgeon. I haven't heard of the procedures but it is nice know of all the various options out there.

Sam---I am tired thinking about my walking lunges too. This rotation is tough.

Tuesday was a long day of trainings and then I had Open House at work in the evenings so I was totally exhausted. I slept in yesterday so no work out.

Got up this morning and did STS Total Body which just wiped me out. I haven't done that workout in a very long time and it was exhausted. I even skipped a few sets.

Happy Friday!

Yesterday was KPC (I skipped the ball ab work since I was running short on time). Today was Back and biceps. Had a pretty good workout.

Last night I had a consult meeting with a holistic practitioner and boy was it ever informative. She feels that if I implement a lot of what she recommended that I could heal myself and my arthritis would go away. She literally pinky swore with me. :) I'm going to try and implement majority of what we talked about and see what happens. I told her that I was going to make an appt with a surgeon in regards to my hip issues and she cringed and asked me to hold off and give this a try. I'm going to. It will be a bit of a life style adjustment but I made plenty of those before and no reason why I can't do more.

Hearty - My cardio and leg workouts start out really slow. My body needs so much more time to warm up and loosen up. When I'm having bad days where I end bone on bone, I get so frustrated and just want to cry and once in a while I have because the pain was so bad. That rotation did look hard. Kudos to you for doing it!!

Hi Sam - Hope things are going well.

Have a great weekend!!

Good morning. Today was Phase 2 Strength 2. No workout yesterday. I was awakened this morning by a police officer at our door. Bryan was up and talked to him. Apparently, someone broke into our neighbor's house last night while we were just sitting there watching TV! I guess he left a window open and the burglar cut through the screen. Since he just cut through the screen and it was raining pretty hard, we didn't hear or notice anything. This is the second time his house has been broken into since we moved in. I feel really bad for him because he just lost his job, too. I think I'm going to bake him a pie over the weekend.

Brenda- Definitely give the holistic stuff a try. It really can't hurt, and if it helps, you'll be so happy you did it. My mom is using a holistic approach to cure her restless legs. She's only been doing it a couple months and she's down to less than half the medication she had been taking. Her traditional medicine mind has really been opened through the whole process. I hope it helps you.

Heartymax- Were all those lunges bodyweight or did you carry dumbbells? Please tell me it was bodyweight :D

Have a great day and weekend, everyone!
