Buff Badgers Week of March 12th

Laurie----Thanks for the recipe. My family enjoyed the cookies----well minus my oldest son who didn't bother to try them. I ate too many. It has been a long time since I baked cookies and that is not my best talent for sure. I know they don't necessarily appear done when they come out of the oven but they are brown on the bottom. My boys and I like our cookies soft and not crunchy so that is always the "test" after the cookies are no longer warm. Anyway, it was the first time my youngest son had butterscotch and he said "yum---these are good". I also added some chocolate chips instead of the coconut. By the way----right after you sent me the recipe, I noticed it was on the back of the morsel bag----DUH!!! I said to myself that you probably told me to look on the back of the bag before you emailed me the link.

Saturday was 40 minutes on the elliptical and push ups.

Today was Meso 3 Chest and Back. I subbed push ups for the first 4 sets of incline flys. My chest was at failure near the end of the workout and I could barely lift the weight. I didn't do the last set of incline flys or one arm horizontal rows. I popped in Butts and Gutts and did the standling glute work and the stability ball abs.

The weather was nice all weekend and is expected to be beautiful all week.! I am looking forward to it.

Good morning! Beautiful weekend! And, it looks like we have a beautiful week ahead of us. 76 and sunny on Wednesday! I can't wait!

Friday I did the Cardio Timesaver Premix from Low Impact Circuit. It felt great, and I did it on an 8" step for once. BUT... I tweaked my knee somehow. I didn't feel it till way after I was done with the workout, so I'm not sure what happened. Saturday I did the all upper body premix from 4DS so I could rest my knee. Hoo.. boy! That was tough! My arms were all shaky for about an hour afterwards.

No workout yesterday, and my knee feels normal today, so I plan on doing some light-ish cardio later.

DS is sick with a fever and a really bad sounding cough. And.. the sitter texted me to let me know her son has the flu. So... I have to make other arrangements for the week for him. This is one of the many reasons I can't wait to stay at home.

Heartymax- I made Laurie's cookies, too! I just did butterscotch morsels. They're very yummy, but they made too much for a family of three  DH can't leave them alone. I told him I'd like to start keeping cookies in the house again, but only if he can control himself :p

Laurie- Thanks for the recipe!

Have a great day, everyone.

Morning Ladies,

10lb Slimdown Xtreme Cardio Kickboxing and Weider X-Factor ST Week 6 was my workouts for Saturday. Sunday was a rest day, and this morning was Disc 19 Chest, Shoulders & Triceps.

heartymax, That is exactly the way that my family likes their cookies also. We don't enjoy the hard and crunchy. :D I don't make the cookies with butterscotch chips to often, but they are always gone in a flash. :D I bake a lot lately, I seem to be feeding more college students than I have in the past. My oldest must be buying cookie friends. WTG on the M3 workout!

Sam, Seems that we posted at the same time again. :D Sorry to hear about you ds running a fever, hope he gets better fast. You made the cookies also, those DH's are horrible about those cookies. WTG on the workouts. My oldest was home yesterday, and I had to make a 8x8 pan of Smore Bars. She took most of them with her to school.

Have a great day!

Heartymax - I made those cookies, too, over the weekend and they're almost gone! I like soft cookies as well. So you added coconut and chocolate chips? I'll bet those were yummy. I don't know if the recipe on the bag is the same. We used to use that recipe and these turned out better. Of course, that was 30 years ago so maybe the recipe on the bag is different. I bought store-brand butterscotch chips and didn't even look at that recipe (if there even was one).

Sam - My only dillemna about warmer weather is what to wear to work. It looks silly wearing some of my summer clothes. I'll figure it out! LOL Take it easy on that knee. Hopefully it was just a flukey thing. How funny that you made butterscotch cookies, too! Look what Laurie started. ;) You can always hide the cookies in the freezer. That's what my mom used to do with 12 kids in the house. Actually, she had all kinds of hiding spots.

Laurie - Thanks for the recipe. It's a keeper for sure. I think my mom's used to get hard after a day or so but these are still soft. My kids have never liked oatmeal cookies so I was shocked they liked these. So much for saving them for myself. ;)

Had a good time at Flamingo Friday but all we won was a duffle bag. DH was going crazy on the Silent Auction items by bidding on everything. I had to pull him away from the tables a couple of times because he was making me nervous about the money we could potentially be spending and then we ended up not winning anything!

On Saturday I did 30-30 (more like 30-40 or 30-50 for some intervals!) and then Leaner Legs (skipped the abs). Yesterday I was sore so didn't do anything. This morning I did CTX chest and LL abs.

Hi! Glad to see you enjoyed your weekend of baking! :) I love me some cookies! Saturday I ran 5 miles. Loved it!:D This S90 must have really strengthened my heart and lungs cause they felt I could have run forever, but my legs said nope! Sunday was a 60mn walk and some pilates. Today was S90 Legs.

Sam, hope your lil guy starts feeling better! My kids always get sick when the seasons change so I am sure it will happen soon!

This weather is wonderful! Let's hope it lasts!!

See you tomorrow! I think my computer has a virus. I have been running scans and it is removing them.. but I am not so sure....So if I do not post, that is why!

Susan

Of course I am laughing that we made Laurie's cookies this weekend. DH made fried pork chops with homemade mash potatoes and gravy yesterday. I dreaded stepping on the scale this morning after eating that behind all those cookies this weekend. Okay-----I can't keep doing this .

Susan---it is always such a good feeling to see an increase in endurance.

Sue----as the weather changes I can start wearing some of my old clothes from last fall or spring. It makes me feel like I have a new wardrobe and I haven't purchased a thing. From looking at all the sale papers it looks like "orange" is the color of the season. I may have to add just a few tops in that color family. Last year it was purple.

Laurie---I think it is awesome that DD enjoys bring her friends home. That says something really special deep down. :D

Sam----Hope your DS feels better soon. My youngest has asthma so sometimes you never know what to expect any season of the year.

My workout today was Rhythmic Step----I was looking for fun factor and I think I found it.

Hi there! This morning was S90 Cardio Challenge. I received my Cathe Cardio Supersets in the mail yesterday. I will be previewing it Friday I think and maybe going it on Sunday.

Heartymax, I was thinking the same thing when I stepped on the scale this morning! Must stay away from salty things!!! I have been taking my food&exercise journal to work to help hold me accountable but tend to ignore when I get home from work! I am going to start walking Ruby at night instead of the mornings which will keep me away from the kitchen a bit! I also need to drink all my water!

Hope you all have a wonderful day! Try and get out and enjoy this beautiful weather! Susan

Good morning. I have to be quick, but that's okay because I don't have much to report.

I had to take DS to the doctor during my regular workout time yesterday, so... no workout. He's got an ear infection. Poor little guy was just miserable yesterday, but DH texted me awhile ago and said he's a bit better this morning.

I'd like to say I'm going to work out today, but I'm not sure what the likelihood of that actually would be...

Have a good day everyone, it's starting to smell like spring!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh... and forgot to report yesterday that my room reservations for the RT have been made! Now, if only I could get those workouts done...

Susan - So no computer viruses? That's good news. They're getting trickier and trickier in how they send them via email. Be very careful about any emails you get from UPS, FedEx, Better Business Bureau or IRS.

Sam - Poor DS. Glad to hear he's feeling better today. How many days until the RT? It'll be here before you know it.

Maybe we should all bake the same thing this weekend, too! (Or not) I know my family would love it but my waistline would not.

Today was my early morning so I did Biggest Loser Cardio Max Workout #1 this morning.

The weather is predicted to be sunny and 79 degrees today:D Need a say more about my mood for the day. Plyo Legs was on schedule for the day, push ups and abs. I had an awesome workout.

Sam---hope your little guy is doing better. A little TLC from mom always go a long way. :D I remember growing up and just laying in bed with my mom always made me feel better.

Susan---I have done Cardio Supersets once. The only thing I remember is that it didn't have nearly as much cardio as I would expect it to have with a name like "cardio" in it. The workout was fun though as I don't recall doing any LIS that I didn't like (well----except Yoga since I am not into Yoga).

Sue--Kudos for finding the right premix to get your workout in even on your early mornings. Even though I workout in the AM and I am used to get up early, if I have to go to work earlier for any reason----it throws off my morning especially while I am doing STS since some of those workouts are LONG.

Morning Ladies,

Sorry I didn't check in yesterday, it was a long day for everyone in our family. DH's aunt passed away due to complications from MS, about 10 days ago. The funeral service, and internment where yesterday. It was a very beautiful service, but we all where tired yesterday and this morning.

So no workout for me yesterday, but this morning was STS Disc 20 Legs. Would really like to get yesterdays workout done after work, not something that I usually have the want to do usually.

Sue, Some great workouts you got in there, sure do love that LL workout. That one can fry the legs good. I do bake something every weekend, but then I allow myself the calorie item in my schedule. I know that I need to have the snack, I'm to old to change my ways. :D I feel if my family is going to eat cookies, at least I know what is in them. ;) The only difference in the recipe on the bag and the one that I mentioned, is the amount of butter and cinnamon. Less butter (cookies don't spread out while baking) and more cinnamon in the Quaker one.

Susan, Sounds like those S90 workouts really are working well with the running. I found out yesterday how important that water is, didn't get any water until we ate lunch. Of course they never fill those water glasses fast enough or often enough for me. :D

heartymax, I totally understand the eating thing. Yesterday was a disaster for me as far as eating. Paying for it today, but will get back on track as quickly as possible. ;) We are having that nice weather today also.

Sam, Poor little guy, those dang ear infections! :( That road trip will be here sooner than you think I'm sure.

Have a wonderful day!

Hi there! What a beautiful morning! Today I ran 4 miles and it was so nice to not bundle up!:D

Sue, I still think we have an issue with the computer.. I just need to find time to sit down and check it all out!

Sam, hope DS feels better today.

Heartymax, I am not a yoga girl either. As long as Cardio Supersets get my heart rate up I'll be happy. With S90 I am surprised at how high my HR gets doing strength training!

Have a terrific day! Susan

Good morning. The weather is just gorgeous! I got DS and his drippy nose out of the house yesterday for a little wagon ride. I'm hoping to take him to the park this afternoon.

I think this is turning into an unplanned rest week for me. Well, the weekdays anyway. It should be okay if I can keep my eating in check. I haven't been sleeping well again, I think just because of DS coughing during the night, and the daylight savings adjustment. I can't seem to get myself to go to bed at 9:30 like I usually do.

Laurie- Sorry to hear about DH's aunt. Those days are so exhausting, both emotionally and physically.

Heartymax- I would love to just sit and snuggle with DS, but he still wants to go, go, go and I end up chasing him around with a kleenex. He likes to snuggle up with me and a book before his nap, though; and I love those moments as much as he does. :)

Susan- Darn those viruses! I can't believe how sneaky the spam emails are getting lately. I opened an email from my MIL this morning only to find it was spam. I'm glad I'm married to a tech guy because I'm fairly certain that I would destroy my computers is left to my own devices.

Sue- The RT is four weeks from Friday! The butterflies have definitely started fluttering. I'm going workout clothes and pajama shopping this weekend. This may be the first year I either don't buy an Easter dress or a just get a really cheap one in favor of workout attire :p

Have a great day everyone!

Laurie - So sorry to hear about your Aunt passing. MS is a terrible disease.

Susan - Those S90 workouts move from one thing to the next! I've got to do those again soon.

Sam - Happy shopping! Hope you find something cute.

Heartymax - Enjoy the nice weather while it lasts! We're having a nice day today, too (or so I hear).

Well, I had planned to workout last night but when I picked up DS from Track practice but he said he had a meeting for the Mission trip he is taking this summer. DD and DH were at another appt. so I had to drive him and pick him up. Then when I got home I had to play homework monitor to make sure DD actually does her work! So frustrating. She's 16 and still doesn't get it. She's lying to me again, too and some other things going on I can't talk about. When I get stressed out like this and can't workout I eat. DH doesn't help. In fact, he makes thing worse. He exploded at DD last night and said things he shouldn't have. Not that I'm perfect either. . . Sorry to vent but had to get that out.

I did CTX back and shoulders plus All Step abs this morning. I'm dying to do some cardio but tonight and tomorrow night we have band concerts. Going to have to squeeze the workouts in wherever I can. Working on Sunday, too. I have a consultant in through next Tuesday so I probably won't be able to checkin until the end of next week. Have a great weekend guys!

Hi Ladies. I am taking a rest day. My body is tired. The last two weeks I have done a premix from Butts and Gutts along with my regular STS leg workout and have major DOMS in a good way of course----but I feel fatigued so I am taking the day off.

Sue---I understand the frustration that you are experiencing with DD. My DS is not as self-discipline as we want him to be when it comes to his work. He normally does well--but grades slipped a little last quarter and he realized those little mistakes cost him. He will be going to high school next year when things really matter the most in preparation for college. We want him to "get it" sooner than later so I am already stressed wondering what it will be like. We have monitored him closely and want to ease up and I found myself totally stressed at one point ----just stressing over the situation and have said some things as well. I am learning to handle it better these days. Hang in there. One thing that I know works is when spouses are on the "same page" about how to handle a situation. That is something that frustrated me and I was able to communicate that to my DH also so we make things more productive and not allow any manipulation to occur.

Laurie---sorry to hear about your aunt's passing.

Hi Sam and Susan! Enjoy some more beautiful weather today.

Morning Ladies,

This morning was Banish Fat Boost Metabolism. :D

Susan, I walked out the door this morning without a jacket on! The unfortunate part is that I have killed two mosquitoes in less than a 24 hr period. :(

Sam, Only four weeks away for that RT! Hopefully your DS starts feeling better, so that all of you can sleep more comfortably. ;) Funny you should mention Easter dresses, I have been looking at the sales flyers trying to see if there was anything that I would like. ;)

Sue, Oh I know exactly what you are talking about with the lying and homework. It took out oldest until her Senior year of HS to understand what she needed to do. We would go to her IP meetings, and I would end up crying because she was doing so bad. She is doing well in college so far, it is a thing that still hangs on my mind though. What helped her the most was going to see the psycologist that specializes with kids that have problems with organization, anxiety etc. They gave her coping tools, that I see has helped her a lot.

heartymax, Sounds like a good idea to take a break if your body is tired. So far I'm doing really well with the M2 workouts, have been a bit hungry after work. Just need to make sure that I have those good snacks at home when they are needed.

Have a great day!

Good morning. DS is much better. I still didn't sleep well  I might have to discuss changing up my sleep meds at my next doctor appointment. Ambien doesn't seem to be cutting it anymore. I've even thought of something like acupuncture, or even hypnosis, but I'm not even sure where to start looking for treatments like that.

I cancelled my Kineticflix membership already  I really like the service, but it just confirmed to me that Cathe is my favorite instructor, and I'd rather spend my money on buying her workouts than renting them. I could see going back to the one-dvd-per-month plan on the future just to always have something different to do.

Sue- I'm sorry you're having trouble with DD. I don't have kids old enough for homework yet, but I certainly remember my own struggles. I was just plain lazy and didn't think it was important. I still look back on high school and wish that I had taken it seriously, because I did not use my God given talents. I was just way too wrapped up in teenage-girl stuff. I think having a goal would have helped, so maybe helping your DD come up with a goal may help her, too. I don't know. Sorry for my ramblings-- I wish I could give you better advice. Hugs to you.

Laurie- Mosquitoes! I haven't seen any of those yet, thankfully. Unless you count my students :p... the weather is making them crazy!

Heartymax- A rest day sounds like a great idea. With my feelings about lower-body workouts, I can definitely relate :)

Hi, Susan!

Have a great day everyone!

Disc 30 ---Shoulders, Biceps and Triceps this morning. 2 more weeks and I will be off to spring break and done with Meso 3.

Sam---I know you enjoyed use Kineticflix for videos. I agree---you may as well purchased now that you know you love the Cathe videos so much.

Laurie--mosquitos out already:eek:

Hi Susan and Sue----

Have a great weekend everyone. The weather is supposed to be in the 70s for the next week so I am enjoying every moment.

Morning Ladies,

STS Disc 21 Back & Biceps! Only one more week of Meso 2 left.

Sam, Glad to hear that your DS is doing better, they bounce back much faster than we do. I'm not one to suffer from insomnia, so don't know what you are dealing with. Hopefully you can find something that will help. The mosquitoes where attacking my vehicle yesterday! :D

heartymax, This STS rotation has gone by fast for me, I think it was skipping the rest week. I am enjoying doing these workouts this way though. ;) I'm enjoying this weather also, and I think everyone is if you look at the items to grill at the store. Most of the meat section is missing steaks and burgers.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Good morning! I was thinking of "cheating" on my rest week and working out today, but TOM arrived this morning... so yeah. No workout for me. I'm looking forward to getting started again, but I think I'll wait till Sunday. I have this sinking feeling that TOM will be happening during the road trip

I have a busy weekend ahead. My church group is having a brunch get-together tomorrow, follwed by a birthday gathering for my grandma tomorrow night. Sunday my choir sings in two services, so I will plan on relaxing/cleaning on Sunday afternoon.

Laurie and Heartymax- Which meso do you like the best? Say I only purchased only one meso, is there one that could stand alone? If you don't see this message I'll ask again next week ;)

Have a great weekend, everyone. Enjoy this beautiful weather.
