Buff Badgers Week of June 24th

Happy Monday, ladies!

My weekend was very busy and I didn't get any workouts done. This morning I did the Triple Tabata from To The Max and my heavy weights: lunges, floor chest press, bent over rows, hammer curls, and lying triceps extensions. I went up in weight in everything except the lower body stuff. But, I think I'm ready to go up to 70 pounds for lower body next time.

I had a baby shower on Saturday while DH and DS went to Chicagot for my BIL's BBQ. Yesterday I went shopping :D and then DS had his first swimming lesson. He did great! I feel bad that he has to miss the next lesson because we'll be out of town.

We're headed to Missouri on Saturday, and we're going to try to have an anniversary date day on Friday, so I have to get everything set and ready to go by then. It's going to be a crazy week.

Have a great day!

Good Afternoon!

My weekend was extremely busy as well. No rest for the weary I guess. :) Saturday I did Cardio SS followed with the floor and disc sections of All Out Low Impact HiiT. Had a good workout. Sunday I spent all day in my veggie garden weeding. I hate thistles!!

This morning I did Circuit Blast. I think this is the 2nd time I've done this one. Because it doesn't have a bunch work for the upper body I added on two of my own cardio blasts followed with bicep and tricep work. She worked the shoulders and chest enough and a little on the back. Something different to do.

Sam - What exercises are you going to bump up to 70lbs on. Great job on increasing that weight. What kind of results have you been seeing since you've been going heavier on the weights? Hope the week isn't too crazy so you get your workouts in.

DH headed up to Ladysmith this morning. He's hoping he'll be done on Weds so he'll be back home on Thursday. The week didn't start out very good though, so we'll see.

Have a great night!
Brenda

Good Afternoon!

Everyone must be really busy that no one posted yesterday.

This morning I did Intensity. Felt tough but I gave it my all and pushed through it.

No eating lunch outside today. It's been raining all morning.

Enjoy the rest of your day!
Brenda

Hello! I had planned on doing some intense cardio today, but I've noticed with the heavier lifting that I just don't always have the energy for it. I did Chris Freytag's Power Yoga from her original 10 Pound Slimdown on YouTube. It was a nice, short, sweaty routine. Perfect for how I felt today.

Brenda- I was thinking of upping my squats, lunges, and deadlifts to 70 pounds. I don't think I can do 70 pound leg presses quite yet. I don't know about results quite yet, either. I know I feel stronger. I look about the same. I've gained a couple pounds, but my clothes all fit normally, so I don't think I've gained fat. It could be muscle, but it could also be water retention, which I've heard can happen with heavy weights. I wish I could take my weights with me on vacation. Not sure what I'm going to do yet while I'm there. I hope your DH can come home soon!

Have a great day, everyone.

Hello! Got back from vacation late yesterday afteroon. When gone I walked everyday and did some plank work. However my eating and drinking habits were not the best...

Today I woke up late.. went for a walk and started a new squat challenge (just 50!) Tomorrow I start running again. Very happy about that!

Sam, do you have any tubing you can take with you on vacation? I have probably 5 different bands. I got my latest ones at Play It again Sports for like $8 and they are equal to 50 pounds of resistance. I took them with me and love that they pack so nice!

Brenda, I have not done Instensity in a while, cause it's so Intense! Glad you pulled though..

See you tomorrow~ Susan

On Friday, we attended DS15 graduation from the Junior Police Academy. It was a great experience for him. We left Sunday to take DS15 to New Jersey for a Crime Scene Investigations and Forensics camp. It is sponsored by one of the colleges and live on campus. There is basically a mock murder and they work with an elite team to solve the crime. They take a few related fieldtrips and prep trial. I can't wait to hear about it when he returns. I called him the other day and he told me that I was disturbing his learning and he will call me later. You are kidding me-----right. Anyway, he called for a quick minute before I went to bed and told me he was having a good time. At the police academy, he couldn't call. He was able to take his cell phone to this camp---and I can't get a good morning or hi mom call each day. WTW!! Teens. At least it sounds like he is having fun and our money was well spent.

My right knee and foot has been bothering me so I am staying off of it totally. My eating has been on point this week so I am really trying to make sure that I am eating well since I am not exercising. It is my goal to try to stay focused on eating well for the weeks to come and DH is doing better to. He is getting up at 3:30 AM a couple of days a week to get his run in before work. THAT IS CRAZY INSANE.

Susan---eating is not supposed to be great when you are on vacation:D That's all part of the fun.

Sam--I haven't done Triple Tabata---but it's sounds a bit too intense for me:D

Hi all. Just popping in to report that I did not work out today. DS was up half the night with a head cold that seemed to come out of nowhere. He was coughing like crazy, couldn't get comfortable, sleeping restlessly.... etc. Anyway, every time I would come close to falling asleep after tending to him, he'd be up again, so I didn't actually sleep until about 4:30.

I'm exhausted :p

Tomorrow my mom is taking him to see the dancing horses show in Delavan, so I should have plenty of time to get things ready for the trip since today was pretty much a lost day

Heartymax- 3:30???? That IS crazy insane! It sounds like your DS is having a great time. I didn't even know camps like that existed. Pretty cool. Triple Tabata isn't bad. I think Tabatacise is tougher.

Susan- I do have a basic set of bands. I might take them with me, but I think I'll probably just end up doing some bodyweight exercises or homemade hiit workouts in our room. I also downloaded a yoga app for my phone that has a few practices on it. We do a lot of playing in the water every day, too. Right now I'm more concerned with the continual flow of biscuits & gravy, pancakes, crepes, and various desserts....

Hi Brenda!

On Cathe's Facebook page today she compared the new Party Rockin' Step to Rhythmic Step! That makes me very happy :D

Have a great evening, everyone.

Hi there! Yesterday I went for a 3.5 mile run. Boy, did my body remind me it had been a while since I ran! I was glad I did it though but today my legs are very sore! I will be doing a total body strength workout tonight that I got from Oxygen...

Hearty, take care of those knees! I need to buy new running shoes and I know the ones I have are too worn. Just can't decide which pair to get! Hope to go Friday morning before work...

Sam, sounds like a good plan you have for your vacation! :D

I was told the other day that we will have next Friday off as well as the 4th so that made me happy. Usually we have to work the 5th of July!:D May start painting my kitchen...

Have a great day~ Susan

Hello! I just finished Bootcamp. All my heavy lifting and gentle cardio lately meant that those cardio portions were TOUGH. It's fine though, because for the first time ever I matched Cathe for biceps! Yay! I still can't do those shoulder presses the whole way through, though. I just don't have that endurance. I also had to modify some of the ab work to go easy on my back and neck. Honestly, I should probably only be doing planks.

We're taking a week-long vacation, then we'll be home for a week, then we'll be taking another week-long vacation, so I think I'll just plan on taking those three weeks off the heavy lifting. I'll miss it though, it seems to suit my life right now.

Susan- It amazes me that there are people like you that can just go out and run 3.5 miles. My body is just not built that way. It would take me months to work up to 3.5 miles!

Okay, lots of packing and planning to do. Have a great day!

Good Evening!!

Yesterday I had a total body workout and went Muscle Max. Still feeling that today, especially in the upper body. This morning I did KPC, skipped the abs as I was running out of time.

Heard from DH today and he'll be heading home tomorrow. Thank goodness!

Susan - It's hard to eat good while on vacation. Wow, just jump back in and run 3.5 miles, you go!!

Sam - I hope you got some sleep. Is DS feeling better? Enjoy your vacation!

Heartymax - Glad DS is really enjoying himself. Hope your right knee and foot are feeling better. I must be as insane as your DH. I'm up at beween 2:45 - 3am in the morning to get my workout in before I got to work. I'm at work around 6am. When anyone hears that I get up that early to workout, they do tell me I'm insane. I've been doing it for so many years now, I'm used to it. What sucks though is that there are a lot of times I wake up at 2am and doze on and off until I get up or can't fall back asleep. That sucks! I still muster up that energy and get down in the basement to workout.

Yeah tomorrow is Friday!!

Have a great night!
Brenda

Good morning! I just finished the floor and step premix of All Out. Feeling good :) It's our 10th anniversary today, so we're going on a brewery tour, shopping and wandering in the Third Ward, and out to dinner at Eddie Martini's. I'm pretty excited. We had planned on a trip to Lake Geneva, but couldn't afford it after a few expenses came up. Maybe for our 15th in a few years.

We leave for Lake of the Ozarks tomorrow! I'm not sure if I'll be able to check in or not. I have the app on my phone, so it's possible. I will if I can.

Brenda- I seem to be going through an insomnia patch right now, but I'm handling it okay. Plus, Bryan is so understanding, and lets me sleep in until he goes to work at 8:45. I didn't know you got up that early to work out! Holy crap! I wish I could get up around 5. I keep telling myself I'll be able to train myself to do it, but I never can. I like to stay up late.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Howdy! Today was a 3.5 miler again. This one was better than the last time. Then did some strength training with my tubing. I felt I have more endurance but my hammys were still very sore! Went and bought some new running shoes before work. I will break them in with Tabatacise tomorrow!

Brenda.. I am an early bird (4:30) but do not think I could ever get up that early unless my house was on fire!

Sam, Congratulations!!! Happy Anniversary! :D DH and I celebrated 22 years a couple weeks ago but kept it kind of quiet too, because like you, we had a few unexpected (car) expenses! Have a great time on your vacation!

Hope to get some much needed cleaning done around here this weekend. We have been so busy on the weekends, some things have been neglected!

Take care~ Susan
