Buff Badgers Week of June 18

Good Evening Ladies!!

Decided to sit outside in the heat at lunch time. It's been an insane week and I needed to get away from my desk. Today was my Friday. I'm off the next two days due to a wedding me and DH are helping with. Not a good time to be off with all that is going on at work but it is what it is. Today was another X-Factor Wk 8 and my add on was step portion from HSTA. I forgot to mention in Wk 8 they do tuck jumps at the end, which are not my favorite. The gal in there is amazing.. OMG.. I could not believe how high she can jump and how awesome of a job she does for 90 sec. She kicks the guys butts.

Sue - Next weekend we are implementing 3 of our companies that do manufacturing. Other companies that we're implementing is mainly invoicing. End of Aug/beg of Sept is our Mexico facility and end of Sept/beg of Oct is our Ireland facility. My boss will be doing the traveling for those two and I will be helping remotely in Germantown. Our facility in Mexico is not in a very good part of Mexico so not having to go there doesn't bother me but kind of wouldn't mind Ireland but with my diabetic cat, that won't happen either. :(

Susan - Glad to hear you achilles is getting better. Good thing the elliptical is a pretty good workout but I'm sure nothing like running.

Heartymax - Enjoy your time off of work!! Great job on MM. A few more days and I get to hit the weights. :)

Laurie - Pulling weeds is a workout in itself. Isn't that amazing how with hardly any rain those darn things continue to grow. I need to get out in my veggie garden. I can't even see what growing. My garden is horrible when it comes to weeds.

Sam - Glad you were able to get out of the house for a while yesterday. Love PUB. Unfortunately I have a few too many bad genes in the family. :(

Everyone have a great night and stay cool. I like warm weather but this is a little too warm. Looking forward to it cooling down a little.

Take Care!

Good Morning Ladies!!

So nice to wake up and get my workout in and know that I don't have to go to work. :) This morning I was supposed to do X-Factor but I really didn't feel like doing it again. Instead I did Afterburn and added on 100 jacks. With this warm weather I'm more of a sweaty mess than usual.

Today the plan is to clean my house, clean my parents house, and then start weeding in my garden. I know that will take some time. It's so bad it's almost embarrassing. I have really crappy soil. It is what it is and I deal with it.

This evening we have rehearsal dinner for the wedding that we are helping out with.

I'm off to eat my oatmeal for breakfast and then start my cleaning.

Make it a great day!! :D

Hi there! Today was upper body strength training. I love/hate working my shoulders. I know I will be sore in a few hours...

Brenda, enjoy the time off and have fun with the wedding. Make sure you don't think about work too much! I am pretty lucky in the weed department. We hardly get any, but we have somebody come and spray every month too!

Sue, how are those legs feeling today?;) I did see the clip from Crossfire and realized I need to order those bands!

Sam, how is the lil' guy doing? Glad you were able to get away for a bit. Sometimes that's all it takes.

Laurie, I still want Insainty!!! I keep looking at it on ebay. Someone has it for $75.

Have a good day ladies, at least the temps went down!

Good morning! Today I did the cardio timesaver premix from Cardio and Weights. It was fun, but only because I didn't use risers. My body isn't used to working out in the morning yet

Susan- I'm the same way about shoulders. Love the results, do not love the pain. I always have trouble keeping my neck relaxed. DS is doing really well. He's still wearing a pull-up/diaper when he sleeps, but he's staying dry the rest of the time. He's even asked to go a couple of times.

Brenda- Not too much relaxing on your day off, huh ;) ? I hope you can find some time to take it easy. We have bad soil, too. The person who lived here before us was too frail/sick to take care of her garden and the weeds grew freely. This is our fourth summer here, and we finally seem to have a "normal" level of weeds.

Sue- Thanks for the link! There are a few food blogs that I follow, but I didn't know about that one yet. She has some of the same cupcakes of another blogger I like. I made a healthy dessert yesterday because I couldn't rationalize making a sugary, buttery dessert for no reason. This one was a sugar-free, flour-free deep dish cookie pie. It was very yummy, like eating raw cookie dough ;) DS loved it. I saw the Cross Fire clips. Crazy! I haven't ordered them yet. I was so sure I was going to preorder, but they seemed really challenging, and I'm not exactly in peak condition right now.

Laurie- weed-pulling is enough of a workout, I think. That is one of my least favorite activities in the world. The only thing good about it is being outside. Insanity terrifies me. I don't think I'll ever do it :)

My MIL mentioned coming by today to take DS to the park. I'd rather she didn't, just because of the potty-training going on, but grandma gets what grandma wants :p We'll figure it out.

Have a great day!

Morning Ladies,

This morning I did 4DS Kickboxing cardio only, and Kickbox Fastfix Level 3. Good workout combo. I pulled more weeds last night, and also had to go after our dog. She must have seen some critter, and decided to go chase it. Only problem is I was trimming bushes so I didn't notice until I didn't see her shadowing me. Well I did find her at the neighbors house, and that little stinker wouldn't come when I called her. I know she heard me, because she looked right at me. That dang dog made me get into the woods to get her!

Don't know if I will be getting in weight workouts tonight, we are going out to dinner with DH's parents.

Sam, Oh the fun of potty training! It does get better, but it sure is a pain until they figure all of it out. Those two premixes don't have a warm-up or coold down, but that isn't a big deal. I like that fact that you can get a good workout done in less than 30 min. though. ;) And of course this way you don't need to spend any money.

Sue, I'm surprised that this heat isn't bothering me. Usually I'm horrible with heat, but I have been enjoying this weather. Don't know what that means. :D I have not checked out the Crossfire workout yet, but will check it out sometime today.

Brenda, Totally agree with you on those tuck jumps, no way am I going as high or as fast as those people. I am beat at the end of those 90 sec. though. I think that is the one and only time I hit the pause button for the 60 sec. break. I'm not going to say have fun pulling weeds, because that is one job that I don't enjoy. Seems I'm the only one that is annoyed with weeds. :D Enjoy the wedding, but it sounds like you are going to be busy.

Susan, I have a love/hate relationship with Insanity. I want to get back into the workouts, because they are great for kicking up your endurance. So I hope that you can get a set for a good price.

Have a wonderful day!

Brenda - Enjoy your time off and don't worry about the timing. Everyone needs to take time off and sometimes that break helps you come back and see things more clearly. I would love to go to Ireland, too. Maybe some day you'll have an excuse to go.

Susan - Legs are a little sore but not nearly as bad as last week. I think it was the paper plate side lunges that made me so sore and yesterday's workout didn't include those. I have this tubing with velcro straps for the ankles that I may try at first with Crossfire. The tension is pretty easy so it'd be a good place to start. I'm surprised the bands aren't included with the workout.

Sam - I'm not in peak shape either but I figure I can modify Crossfire like everything else I do these days that's too tough. It used to bug me to modify but as long as I'm sweating and breathing heavy who cares that I can't keep up?

Laurie - I'm picturing Cami looking at you from the woods and saying to herself "If you want me you have to come get me!" LOL At least she was safe and didn't get lost.

I needed to catch up on sleep so no workout this morning. It might be a rest day since I'm getting my hair done tonight. I think Meso 2 is the perfect combination of weights and reps for me. I'm feeling DOMS in muscles I normally don't like biceps. I'm off tomorrow to get my license renewed at the DMV and take the cats to the vet for their annual exam. Usually DD comes with me to the vet so it will be interesting to see if I can manage myself. Our male cat has to be drugged because he gets so worked up over car rides. They get shots this year so that'll be fun. Always glad when the annual vet visit is over. :D

Susan---My DH has been talking about insanity lately too. I told him that he just started back working out and he already talking about Shaun T. Brave soldier:D I do know a couple of people who have it already though.

Sue----Meso 2 can definitely wake up those bicep muscles. It is my favorite for biceps. Feeling strong huh!!:D

Brenda--I hate tuck jumps.....if they are faster than Cathe's I know I would have to just sit them out or modify with another exercise.

Sam--hang in there with the potty training. Many people feel that summer is the perfect time for potty training.

Laurie----funny about your dog....that little stinker...like ours sometime will just look right through us as though he doesn't hear us. Luckily, the little ones usually don't go far away. I know our dog also doesn't can usually be found hanging out a neighbors----which is what he considers a safe place since he can see the boys through the fence hanging out at their house.

This morning was 40 minute on the elliptical. I took a rest day yesterday to get some laundry and other stuff done for our trip. Our flight leaves for the Caribbean very early on Sunday morning and we will be gone for 7 days. We are very excited.

I will check back in later today to see how you ladies are doing. The weather has been extremely hot the last few days. Stay cool.

Good Morning Ladies!

Susan - I'm there with you on the shoulder work. My shoulders are one of my weaker body parts. Love the results I get from all the hard work, which is why we keep doing what we do. :) Be careful if you buy Insanity on ebay. That is where I bought mine and two of the DVD's wouldn't play. They were some of the extra ones so it wasn't a huge deal but that's not what I paid for. Not sure what the deal was. I love Shaun T as a trainer but after a while I started getting the dread factor. It was too reptitive for me. Very tough workouts and excellent for building up endurance. Wasn't enough of a variety for me.

Sam - Give it time and you'll get used to working out in the mornings. I like working out in the morning knowing that I have my workout in and don't have to worry about it. Hope things continue to go well with the potty training with DS.

Laurie - I always enjoy 4DS Kickboxing. I can handle doing tuck jumps with Cathe because hers aren't as fast. That was the one thing I didn't like in Insanity as well was the tuck jumps, they go so fast. Even though they are not my favorite, I do the best I can. You're not the only that is annoyed with weeds :) By no means do I enjoy pulling weeds. The only thing that makes it tolerable is being outside.

Sue - How did your hair appt go? I'm sure once I start back in with the weights, I'll be feeling major DOMS. As you know, I hate taking our cats to the vet. Hopefully the vet appt goes well. Do you have something at home that you give him to drug him up? If you do, I'm very interested in what you use. Our diabetic cat totally stresses out when we take him to the vet.

Heartymax - Just a couple more days and you're on vacation :D How exciting!! Are you doing a cruise? Some year DH and I would like to do an Alaskan cruise. We can't do that as long as we have our cats. :( Oh well. Someday. I hope you have a fantastic time!!

I was supposed to do X-Factor again today but didn't really feel like doing it. Instead I did a circuit workout and went with HSTA. I always feel that workout is a very good overall workout. Good cardio and you feel like all muscles got worked really good by the time you're done. The only exercise in that workout I'm not fond of is the hover squats. My quads really burn by the time I'm done with that exercise.

Yesterday I did manage to get my house and my parents house cleaned. I started on the weeding in the garden. Only was out there a couple of hours then I had to come in and get cleaned up for the rehearsal dinner last night. Dinner was very good. I had salmon and rice. I was never a big fan of salmon until I had it down at No No's Restaurant. They do an excellent job on making it. Very good. :p This morning I'll be heading into town to do my weekly grocery shopping and then back home to work on the weeds until 11am and then I need to meet the bride down at the hall and help decorate for an hour and then I need to meet DH at home at 12:15 so we can go down to No No's and cut the grass and make everything look all nice for tomorrow. We have 3-4 branches we need to cut down so they don't whack people in the face tomorrow. We're going to pick up the chairs that are being used for the ceremony tonight. Tomorrow morning we meet the florist at No No's at 9am to set everything up. Once we get past the ceremony tomorrow and get the chairs back down to the hall, then we can relax and start having some fun. :D

I'm off and running!!

I hope you all have a fantastic Friday!! I doubt I'll be on over the weekend with all that is going on so have a great weekend as well!! :)

Take Care!

Morning Ladies,

No workout last night, it was just to late. This morning was 30MTF Weights Biceps, Triceps and Shoulders, along with 4DS Lower Body Premix. Both of those combined came to 60 min. After that Insanity workout my calf muscles where really sore, and then when the calf portion of the 4DS workout came up those muscles started to scream. But I got through the exercises, and now the muscles are not so sore. I was having problems walking down the stairs.

Sue, Enjoy your day off, even if it includes getting the cats to the vet and going to the DMV! The weather today should be great for a day off of work, I'm planning on taking advantage of the guilt free Friday that is offered. ;) LOL I do believe that Cami was thinking those thoughts.

heartymax, Anybody can really do Insanity, he just will do it a lot slower than all the exercisers on the DVD. There is one lady on those workouts that is a slacker, compared to most of the other people. :D Have a wonderful time on your vacation, you are going to a wonderful part of the world.

Brenda, Instead of calling you by your name, your are the Energizer Bunny! I have a hard time just cleaning my house. :D Have a great time at the wedding, and have fun with it. I'm not a fan of salmon either. I have had it at resturants, and it was good but not my favorite. I don't even like Cathe's tuck jumps. I still have more yard cleaning to do, so that will probably be my project tonight also.

Have a great day!

Good Beautiful Day to you all! This morning I could not decide what I felt like doing so I did CardioX from P90X. Good combinations of everything I needed!:)

Have to take DS to the doctor this morning. Had him there over a week ago and he has trouble with stomach aches every time he eats. She put him on a medication and said if it does not help or the pain comes back take him back. Well, as soon as we were done with the meds the pain came back. Hopefully he needs the medication longer or stronger. She thinks he has an ulcer...

Brenda, have fun with the wedding! Looks like you'll have a busy weekend!

Heartymax, enjoy your vacation! How exciting!

Sue, did you get a new hair style last night? I am letting mine grow long again and it can drive me crazy, but I tell myself that's what pony-tails are for!:)

Laurie, Great workout you made there!:)

We leave early in the morning to head up north so tomorrow is my rest day for the week. Told DH I would like to be home early afternoon Sunday so I can get a workout in!

See you next week ( except for Hearty!:p)

Stay strong~ Susan
