Buff Badgers Week of July 7th

Hi!

Last week I was off of work and kept very busy all week with yard & house work. Tuesday spent all day in the ER with my parents. My dad fell and dislocated his shoulder and they couldn't get it back into place. He ended up staying overnight because his oxygen levels were low and his carbon dioxide levels were almost twice as high than what they should have been. He did come home Weds afternoon. As for my workouts last week, I did slow & Heavy Mon, Weds, Friday and the other days cardio. One of the days I did Hardstrikes twice. I forgot what I did the other day. Saturday I did Cardio SuperSets.

This morning I did the original Bootcamp. It has been a super long time since I've done that workout.

Hope you had a great 4th.

Brenda

Brenda---Sorry to hear about your dad. Hope recovery is going well. You managed several workouts in spite of....that's impressive.

I got in alot of running last week so my workout plan went well. I just finished a 3 mile evening run. It was hot but manageable. Some days last week we also walked another 1.5 miles after our run so that felt great.

Hi Hearty,

My dad is recovering well. Hopefully he'll continue to behave himself. ;) This morning I did Athletic Step and added 100 jacks, 50 ski hops, and 50 high knee wide runs before I did the cool down & stretch.

Glad you're enjoying the running. Have you ever heard of KT Tape (kinesio tape)? I bought some on Saturday and have it applied to my hip flexor, glute, and knee on my left leg and it seems to be helping. With the lack of mobility in that leg my muscles tend to cramp up easily and this really seems to be helping. MY DH laughs at me with tape all over my left leg.

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Brenda---haven't heard of KT. Glad it's working for you and it's definitely something for me to keep in mind.

After running 2 days straight, DH and I took Tuesday evening off. I am not sure what our plan will be today. It is supposed to be humid so I may decide to work out on the elliptical this morning. I will definitely workout today though.

This morning I did Supercuts Extreme premix. The exercises that you repeat at the beginning, I changed three of them up and did more bi's, tri's, and back. That workout always seems to go fast to me because it just keeps moving.

Hearty - I'd have to say I'd opt for the elliptical if it's humid out too instead of running. Our humid day was Monday. Yesterday and today are on the cooler side (70's).

Brenda--I like Super Cuts but just don't reach for it often.

I don't think I mentioned it but I finally ordered Great Mats for my workout room. Now I can move my step workouts in the same space as my elliptical. The mats came yesterday and spend the evening installing them. With that said, that was my workout as my back was definitely hurting when I finished.

I am very pleased with look. I haven't worked out on them yet but plan to this evening or tomorrow. DH and I may run this evening instead unless its raining.

This morning I did ROKO. I skipped the last combo and did the heavy bonus bag (without the bag ;).

Hearty - You'll have to let me know how you like your Great Mats. Do they go together like puzzle pieces?

I have a CPR class tonight. My 2 years expires this Saturday so good thing I have class tonight. I have to keep that current for my personal trainer certification. I hope the class is small like last time. It went a lot faster then.

DH and I are headed out to run in a few. The mats are puzzles and were easy to put down. So many folks on the forum love them so I hope I do. I had a cheap mat under my elliptical so I just went around out. I wanted to post a few pics. I hope I do it right.

The storm came through so I ended up doing Cardio Fusion instead while DH walked on the elliptical. The mats worked great this evening.

Happy Friday!!

Hearty - The mats look great. I had thought about doing Cardio Fusion the other day but with it being longer I opted not too since I'm on a time limit in the morning.

This morning I did Athletic Training. Another one of my favorites. :)

I passed my class last night, so I'm CPR/AED certified for the next two years. They recommend doing an online refresher every 3 months, which I can understand why. You don't use it you lose it. Granted CPR is something you hope you don't have to use too often.

Tomorrow is my birthday so DH and I have a couples massage in the afternoon and then we are having dinner with some friends in the evening. Sunday is my parents anniversary so the family is getting together for a potluck dinner.

Have a great weekend!
