Buff Badgers Week of July 25th

Lala- glad to hear your neice is making progress. Butts and Gutts is one tough workout. I do love it. I usually skip parts of the floor work---but I can always count on sore hamstrings the next day.

Susan----How do you like P90x in comparison in comparison to STS?? Now you have killer arms and abs:D

Sue---you have been doing great with your rotations------almost done with S90 too :D

Laurie---seems like you and Sue are on the same workout track right now:rolleyes: Cardio Challenge----calorie burner!

Sam--glad that Elliot is come. I remember when we first got our puppy, he got sick a few weeks after bringing him home. We was lethargic and I had to take him to the vet. We think he may have eaten something when we let him roam the yard while we were out talking to a neighbor. It was alLesson learned for us first time dog owners!!! The vet came him some kind of fluids, etc. and he got better in a few days.

Yesterday, I did my push ups for the challenge but no other workout. This morning was Hiit 30/30 followed by the lower body and abs section of High Reps. Great combination!!

Have a cookout tomorrow at my brothers.........I guess I better get up early in the morning to burn some calories.

Have a great weekend.

Hello ladies! Didn't get to check in yesterday but I did 45mn on the elliptical and 30mn of pilates. Today was Legs/Back/Abs and will be doing some form of cardio after work.

Had to have Alliant Energy send a man out last night. We had a gas smell in the house, DD said it was smelling all day. Could not figure out where it was coming from. Alliant guy said our main gas valve to the oven is leaking very badly and the other smaller valve is leaking too. We are not allowed to use it. Thankfully DH knows a lot of good guys and he's going to call his friend to order us the parts and he said he'd fix it for free!:)

Sam, glad Elliot is back home too. Could he have gotten stung by something that he would be having an allergic reaction? Either way, I hope he feels better soon and starts eating more!

Heartymax, I don't own STS:eek:, but Laurie does and has done both programs so she could let you know what she thinks!:D Enjoy your cook-ou tomorrow, after your workout of course!:)

Laurie, that's it! I am getting to 1/2 priced books this weekend!:p I have not been over to that section of town in a while so I forgot about it! I keep thinking of Insanity, cause I love the fact that he doesn't use any weights in it. My co-worker brought in donuts yesterday and set them by my desk, I said no-thank you and told her she should go put them by "the guys" so she did and they were gone in 10 seconds!:D

Lala, so glad to hear your niece is doing better. What a relief! How far along in her pregnancy is she?

Sue, how was your workout last night? Are yo all caught up on S90 now?

No big plans for our weekend. Hopefully get the oven fixed, oh, and my vacuum decided to not work properly either, keeps dying on me. So DH is going to put on a new cord, he says it has a short in it. It's nice to have such a handy guy around, even if he's a little messy!:p

Check back later- Susan

Morning Ladies,

This morning was S90 Total Body.

Oldest DD is coming home from her summer course today, and she did really well by getting a 93! :D Very proud of her.

Sue, I didn't have any donuts, and yes they where only about 10 ft away from where I sit so I could smell them. My boss ended up eating eight of those dang things. He called me the donut natzi because I had been counting how many he ate. :) I figured that he came to over 2400 calories, just eating those donuts.

heartymax, P90X and STS are actually different in my opinion. STS has more variety because of the phases. I actually love both programs, they both do what you want them to do. ;) I love Cardio Challenge, everything except those bear crawls. I don't seem to have enough room for crawling around on the floor. :D

Susan, I hadn't been to HFB for quite a while. The SWAT workouts where still unopened. The ab workout was used. They had a lot of other workouts that I was tempted by, but I figured that 3 was enough. :D Hmm donut day at work yesterday! ;) Have a wonderful weekend.

See you all on Monday!

My whole afternoon yesterday was taken up by dog stuff and I didn't get a chance to work out. Turns out Elliot has something pretty yucky going on. Apparently (I have never heard of this before) sometimes a fly will bite a dog and then lay its eggs in the site of the bite (yuck!). That's why Elliot's face is swollen. The vet thinks when we got him the problem was already there. So, he's having a small surgery right now to cut open the site and clean everything out. To make things even more complicated, I just got a call from the vet telling me that his liver enzymes are very high, probably from the infection and any muscle damage incurred by the bug. So... the surgery becomes a bit more risky, and we'll have to do some follow-up blood work as well to make sure the enzyme levels go down, and that it's not a chronic condition.

This is getting to be pretty $$$$... but what can we do? I was worried DH would be upset about the cost, but he's actually being very nice about it. I just want all this to be over so he can go back to being a normal dog.

Not sure what workout I'll do today, or if I'll even get to it. I picked up FIRM Volume I at Goodwill the other day on VHS and thought I might do that. The leotards are a riot!

Have a great weekend everyone! We're leaving (I hope) for Eagle River tomorrow, and I'm not sure what kind of Internet access I'll have. I may check in once or twice throughout the week. If not, I hope everyone has a great week, too. Back to packing...

Sam,

Did you get the dog from the humane society? When we got Cami we had free health coverage for 30 days or something like that. That was just in case the dog had something that the HS didn't know about.

Laurie

Heartymax - Enjoy your cookout tomorrow! Eat some yummy food for me, too. ;)

Susan - What good friends you have to fix your gas problem free of charge! I wish I had the energy to do double workouts like you. You're very dedicated and that's a good thing. :)

Laurie - 8 DONUTS!!! I don't think my 190 pound football player of a son would eat that many. Donut Nazi - funny! LOL Have a great weekend at the Faire!

Sam - I'm glad Elliot is going to be okay even if it does cost $$$$. Stupid fly! I have Firm Volume 1 on VHS. I should drag that out one of these days for fun and do it. Have a great time in Eagle River!

Well I did it to myself again. My back started hurting immediately after doing S90 Shoulders and Arms last night. It was a very uncomfortable night sleeping since it hurt every time I tried to change position. I think I pulled a back muscle again doing the bent over rear delt move. I used 12s and that's maybe too heavy for the pace. He does say to go light but I didn't feel it enough with 10s which is why I switched to 12s. I'm sitting here with an ice pack between my back and chair and that makes it feel better. This is the 2nd time in less than 2 weeks that I've hurt my back with S90! If it happens again I am quitting this rotation and moving on to something else. I'm also going to lower my weights on that move and make sure I SLOW DOWN.

Quiet weekend ahead. DS is at EAA in Oshkosh today and tomorrow. DD is happy because that means DS won't be eating all the food in the house! Have a great weekend everyone!

Yes... we got that IF we had activated the free insurance withing 72 hours of purchasing him. Unfortunately, we forgot all about it . It's okay though. It's just money... we can always make more :)
