Buff Badgers Week of February 11th

Morning Ladies,

No workouts this whole weekend. Not that I didn't have the time, but TTOM was HORRIBLE! I'm going to just say that it really sucks getting to that pre-menopause age. ;) I now understand how some women can get anemic. I'm not sure that I'm up for a workout tonight, will play this one by ear. :D

On a happy note :D, I was able to get all my windows washed. It was nice and bright in the house after that. DH and I went to the home improvement show on Sunday, and have a few people that will probably be calling us in the next week or to. Just getting some estimates on some improvements we want to do. ;)

Hope everyone else had a much better weekend for workouts than I did. :D

Have a great day!

Good morning! I did not get any workouts in over the weekend. I ended up skipping the last two workouts in the fourth week of the XTrain rotation and just starting Week Five today. Otherwise my day off gets all weird, and I really like my day off to be on Sunday.

Anyway, it was Burn Sets for Chest, Back and Shoulders today. It's weird. I can't match Cathe on overhead raises for shoulders, but I can for the unilateral exercises. Of course, those are the only exercises where I can match Cathe. That explains why my shirts don't fit quite right

Laurie- Oh, I'm sorry you felt so bad. Everything improved so much for me after I had DS.... good to know I have more terribleness waiting for me in the future ;) How exciting to be getting ready for home improvements! I'm jealous. We had those contractors give us an estimate for our bathrooms and kitchen, but we don't know when we'll be able to afford to actually get started.

I'm starting a little preschool homeschool with DS today. So many kids go to 3K these days, and I want him to be ready for 4K. I was getting prepped last night and missing the perks of actually working at a school... laminator, copy machine, die-cutter... My little "morning meeting" board looks awfully old-school. :D

Have a great day!

Happy Monday Funday!!

This weekend I had Supercuts and core on Saturday and went with Supercuts Extreme and skipped the core. It's not like the core doesn't get worked in Supercuts so I went with the longer workout. :) Sunday was my rest day.

Saturday night we meet an old friend of mine and her husband for dinner at No No's and they were celebrating Mardi Gras. OMG... we had so much fun. It was great visiting and DH and I did some dancing. We haven't had that much fun out in a long time (sad to say). Otherwise the rest of it was normal weekend stuff. I did buy some organics seeds for my vegetable garden.

Laurie - Sorry that you weren't feeling well. What us women have to go through with TTOM. Going to the home improvement show is usually fun. Hope you feel better so you can a little something in tonight.

Sam - WTG on matching Cathe with the overhead raises. Once DH goes back to school, do you think you'll get another job or hold off yet?

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Hi,

I got in a Horizontal Coditioning workout in on Sat. Nothing on Sun. Today I am getting ready for Rhythmic Step, I need something fun. I am burning out on most kinds of workouts.

Laurie, how fun that you guys will be improving your home.

Brenda, nice job on Supercuts.

Sam, what kind of job did you have before your took off some time to spend at home?

Have a good day and wish me luck getting in my workout--really not looking forward to anything.

Good Afternoon!!

This morning was Chest, Back, and Shoulders from XTrain. I followed that with 100 jacks, 50 ski hops, and 50 high jogs and repeated it a second time for a little cardio boost.

I got a phone call from my doc this morning on the last round of blood work they took and everything came back negative. :D They said they found a trace of bacteria from mono that I apparently had at some point in time and didn't know it. Tomorrow I have an appt with a surgeon to check out the lymph node to see if he agrees with the general doc about the biospy. We're still not sure what's up with the lymph node though. Some good news is nice though!

Karen - Good luck with your workout. Did you stick with Rhythmic Step?

Enjoy the rest of your day!
Brenda

Yes, I did Rhythmic Step and I loved it.

Brenda, hopefully you keep getting good news in every test that is done. Nice workout, by the way.

Don't know what I will do to day. I'll try a weight workout of some kind. I really want to run but probably w on't get back home until the sun is not shinning any more.

Take care.

Good evening, everyone.

It took me till about 6 o'clock, but I finally did Cardio Leg Blast when DH got home. I overslept this morning and thought about skipping it altogether, but my brother called and I thought of him running over 100 miles last week in all this snow and thought, "Yeah, I think I can handle a 50 minute workout video". He's right in the thick of training for Boston. I'm really trying to work out a way to go this year. He says if he can get his time under 2:30:00, he's going to take a couple years off, so it might be my last chance for awhile.

Karen- I love Rhythmic Step. Never fails to put a smile on my face. I was a teacher at a couple different Lutheran Elementary schools. I spent most of those years teaching 6th-8th grade language arts and directing the junior choir at a school in Muskego. When DS was born I taught part time for three school years before giving it up.

Brenda- I'm glad you got some good news! It doesn't surprise me that you didn't know you had mono. I bet you were getting up and doing Afterburn and adding on 200 jacks while you had it ;) I hope you get good news about the lymph node also. Funny you should ask about me working. DH and I were just talking about that :) Both of our preference is for me to continue staying home. I'm so much more relaxed, and that makes DH more relaxed. Plus, in a couple years, we may want another little one, and I'd like to stay home from the get go if we're blessed in that way.

Have a great evening!

Sam--glad you are enjoying being a SAHM.

Karen- rhythmic step is so much fun. I almost chose it this morning.

Brenda-- seems like the doctors are getting close to figuring things out.

Laurie-- clean windows "look refreshing". I have thought about taking a day off during the week to do some cleaning.

Today's workout was To The Max minus the compounds.

Good morning! I just finished XTrain Bis and Tris. DS and are making Valentines today. Should be fun. I'm substitute teaching for my brother tomorrow and Friday. Not looking forward to it

Hi Heartymax! I really like that premix.

Have a great day, everyone.

Good Afternoon!!

This morning was Tabatacise 1-4, BS Back, and Core 1. I was proud of myself that I only had to rewind once and that was because I had to blow my nose and get a sip of water :) otherwise I was able to keep up. Yeah!!

Karen - Rhymthic Step is one of Cathe's that I never took the time to learn and I've heard nothing but good things about it.

Sam - I can't even imagine running in the snow we got. That is dedication! WTG on the workouts! That's awesome that you're able to continue staying home. I know plenty of couples were they both have to work. That sounds fun making Valentine's with DS. DH and I are going out to dinner tonight because he's heading to Michigan tomorrow to go snowmobiling with some friends and won't be back until Sunday.

Heartymax - Great job on TTM!

I'll let you know tomorrow how today's appt goes.

Make it a great day!

Hi Ladies,

Still having a fun time with these female issues. :( I was able to get in a workout yesterday. Was the first time I didn't feel bloated, so went for it. I did a short one with Combat 30, was a little afraid to do anything longer. Will probably have to head to the doc soon though, because I can't be away from a bathroom for longer than 2 hours or less. From everything I have read, this is normal. Talked to my sister about it also, since she has had the same experience.

I'm wondering if I should just be doing weight work, and nix the cardio for now. What do you all think? I did feel fine after the 30 min. workout, but I told my dd to check on me to make sure that I wasn't passed out in the basement.

And to put icing on the cake, last night a piece of my tooth came off a molar. Now I have to head to the dentist tomorrow morning. :D

Sam, Having children was a blessing for me also. I wish this on no-one I can tell you. ;) We will have someone estimate granite countertops. Just want to know how much we need to set aside, and it will add so much value to the kitchen.

Karen, Sounds like Rythmic Step was something that you where looking forward too. ;) I miss the step sometimes.

Brenda, Glad that you where able to get some good news. Hopefully you will have more and more. ;) Interesting that you didn't know you had mono, but then again if you need to be on the move and doing things, we usually just get it done not matter how we feel.

heartymax, My daily cleaning has been derailed a couple of days, just have not had the energy. This weekend I'm washing the kitchen cabinets.

Have a great day!

Hi,

Yesterday I did Horizon. Bootcamp and today I did Step Blast.

Laurie, sorry for all the problems. Hope it stops soon. Has cardio made the situation worse? I smiled all the way through the workout and todays tool.

Brenda, nice job on the Tabatas. I love RS, definitely one worth learning.

Sam, hope your had fun with the Valentine making.

Heartymax, that TTM workout is one I did for the first time last week and really like it. For some reason the old Cathe step workouts are the only thing that is making me do cardio these days. Just tired of all the jumping drills, not fun.

Have a great day.

Hi Ladies!!

This morning I had Burn Set Bi's and Tri's. Bi's felt on the weaker side this morning but I did manage to do the first two sets with 20's and then had to drop to 15's for the TF set. Being the cardio junkie that I am :D I put in the original Bootcamp and did the Cardio only premix. That felt hard too this morning and I thought what the heck, here I did Tabata yesterday morning and I was so proud of myself. I know we have our good days and bad days.

Yesterday my appt. went okay, I guess. The doc did an ultra sound and I definitely have swollen lymph nodes. It was kind of cool though how he pointed them out to me and I could even see them pulsing. They are lying on top of a blood vessel and when he pushed down on the one, it collapsed the vessel. I thought Yikes  here I am pressing around on it not even knowing what I'm doing. Anyway... I have a biopsy scheduled for March 4th. He said since I've been dealing with it for so long and have so many unanswered questions with what's going on and what's causing what, he thought it would be a good idea to test to make sure it's nothing serious. Then we can at least say "it's not this". What made the blood work for the lyme disease come back as a false positive, when the other round of blood work came back negative. I don't get it!

Laurie - I'm so sorry with what you've been going through. Sounds horrible! I hope you start feeling better soon. Might not be a bad idea to head to the doc since it doesn't seem to be getting much better. As far as sticking to weights, if it were me, I'd give it a try but I'd probably say on the lighter side. That's a bummer about your tooth. You need some vibes sent your way too. :)

Karen - WTG on the workouts! Step Blast is a fun one too.

Heartymax - I don't remember, do you do Cardio Coach when you do the elliptical?

Have a happy valentine's day!
Brenda

Hi,

Just did PUB today.

Brenda, don't you hate it when the doctors can't find anything wrong but something doesn't feel right. Hopefully all the test come back ok and you start feeling better.

Laurie, hope you are doing better.

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Friday!!

This morning was Hardstrikes and I added on 4DS Kickbox portion only.

DH is gone until Sunday snowmobiling. I hope the trails are good for them.

Karen & Heartymax - must have been a PUB kind of day. :)

Everyone have a great weekend!

Brenda
