Buff Badgers Week of August 19

No workouts this weekend. I got the back to school shopping done and both boys seems to be happy.

Today was Cardio Fusion. That is a fun workout. I enjoy the steady state cardio without the fancy footwork...:D

The teachers return to work today and the kids next week. This will be a very busy week as we prepare for opening day.

Hi ladies! Saturday was Phase One Timed Metabolic, which, honestly, is a pretty easy little workout. I like it though. I think when I'm done with the rotation it'll be an excellent add-on, or something quick to do when I don't feel like it. I do get nice and sweaty by the end. Later we went to Irish Fest. Good friends of ours just happened to be there, and it was fun to meet up with them. DH and I had a really nice time.

No workout Sunday.

Today is the last week of Phase One! Woot woot! Today was Strength Two. In week four, she has you add on an extra set of the four main strength moves. The last set of push-ups was difficult. I had to do them on a desk we have the basement.

Heartymax- You just gave me a great idea for what to do tomorrow. I haven't done Cardio Fusion in awhile and if I have the energy, I think it'll be just what I'm looking for.

Hi Brenda! Hi Susan- I hope your achilles is a little better, at least!

Have a great day!

Good Afternoon!

Why do the weekends always seem to go so fast. Saturday I had an insane moment and did Maximum Cardio Conditioning from Insanity. I got throught it. I actually did better than I was expecting. Sunday was my no workout day. This morning I started the last week of STS Meso 1 Chest, shoulders, and biceps. I was so proud of myself that I did the drop set of bicep curls using 20, 15, 12. Then my other proud moment this morning was doing prone push ups on the stability ball where you start the first 8 reps with the ball around the hip/thigh area, second set of 8 slightly below the knee, and the last set closer to your ankles and if you want a real challenge go up on your toes and I DID 8 reps with my toes on the stability ball and I didn't even fall flat on my face. I was so excited that I actually did it. I have never tried that before.

Hearty - I like Cardio Fusion. That time of year again where teachers and students head back to school. Glad you got all your shopping done.

Sam - I've never been to Irish Fest. Is it fun. I would think it's probably fun watching the dancing.

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Good Morning!

This morning was Intensity. It felt hard on my legs but I did it! I was one complete sweaty mess by the time I was done but I felt very accomplished.

Make it a great day!!

Good morning. Today I did about an hour of Cardio Fusion. I was tired and a little bored during that drill with the ball during the Drill Max section and decided to get on with my day.

Brenda- I love Irish Fest, but DH and I are pretty proud of our small amount of Irish heritage :D The dancing and music are great, and it's always fun to people-watch and hang out by the lakefront during the summer. It's actually the biggest Irish festival in the world, and it's not uncommon to run into people from Ireland who fly in every year for it.

Heartymax- Thanks for the idea to do Cardio Fusion. I hadn't done a "sweaty mess" workout in awhile.

I took DS back to school shopping yesterday. I got a TON of clothes for him at the second hand store. Thank goodness for those places. I can't believe he'll be starting school soon.

Have a great day!

We had to make adjustments to our class schedule at the end of the day. So I didn't leave work until after 5:30 (2 hours late). I usually work late this time of the year because it's so much to do. I came home and had a two glasses of wine and forgot all about my frustration about the decisions people make.

Brenda---WTG on the prone push ups. That is truly an accomplishment. I bet your biceps are talking today:D.

Sam---I would love to see more fun step workouts. Cardio Fusion is fun--just like Rhythmic Step--fun, simple and a sweaty mess.

Today's workout was AfterBurn---hitting the pause button as needed:eek:

Hello. Today was Phase One Strength One. That was the last time doing that workout. Yay! My big accomplishment: Three full sets of fifteen shoulder presses with fifteen pounds :)

Heartymax- Funny how wine can make everything better :D

Hi Brenda!

Have a great day, everyone.

Hello!!

This morning was Meso 1 Disc 11 Back and Tri's. Bumped up the weight on some exercises. Tried going a little heavier on the bent over rows and not sure I should have done that. My low back is feeling it.

Sam - I have a small amount of Irish in me. I'm more German though. WTG on 3 full set of shoulder presses with 15 lbs. That's awesome. I have a hard time with shoulder presses.

Hearty - Love, love Afterburn. Isn't it nice how certain things can just make things a little better. I'm not a wine person but when I work my butt off over the weekend and when we go out to dinner I enjoy a nice cocktail and feel more relaxed. :)

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Brenda

Hello! Today felt like a recovery day. I did Cardio Barefoot Flow from Jessica Smith's YouTube channel. I didn't get very out of breath but I did work up quite a sweat :)

Brenda- I have the same problem with bent over rows. I feel like I can lift heavier, but my low back doesn't like it. Sometimes I just don't bend over as much and that seems to take some pressure off my low back.

Hi Heartymax! I hope you're hanging in there.

I seem to have finally conquered my evening eating problem. It sounds silly, but I took "French Women Don't Get Fat" out of the library, and there's a "recipe" in there for leek broth. It's intended to be something you drink for a whole weekend to jumpstart weight loss. Well, I'm not doing that, but I love leeks and wanted to try the broth. I love it! So I sit and sip that in the evenings while we're watching TV, and it completely takes away the urge to mindlessly munch on something. It's also really taken the bloat off. About five pounds have come off the scale in the last two days.

Anyway, it sounds weird that I sit and drink leek broth, but I really like it and... hey, whatever works, right?

Have a great day!

Hello!

This morning I did Kick, Punch, and Crunch... actually more like Kick & punch because I skipped the crunch part due to lack of time and I did do some abs yesterday after STS.

Sam - That's interesting about the leek broth. I'll have to keep that in mind. I have that same problem to that if I'm sitting there watching TV, I want to munch on something. I often think it's because I get bored very easily and feel the need to be doing something either that or because I'm trying to stay awake. Not sure.

Hearty - Hope things are going well and the days aren't too long.

Looking for suggestions/ideas. So, thinking about starting up a personal training business at home. DH is going to finish off my corner of the basement so it looks nice. I want to focus more on doing one on one training or maybe couples training (whether is a husband and wife or two friends or whatever the situation). I'm struggling with a name. Was originally thinking "Personalized Total Fitness" but that just seems a little plain to me. Other names I thought of were "4Fitness", "Fit for Life", "2BeFit". Looking for something catchy, easy to remember, and not forgetful. Any suggestions? The other thing is trying to see if there would be something I could offer online to clients. I thought maybe something along the lines of virtual training for those people that I couldn't physically get to or they couldn't get to me. So who better to ask for ideas than my Cathlete buddies that workout as well. I would love to hear any ideas you may have. Your input would be greatly appreciated.

Enjoy the rest of your day! Had to eat lunch inside today, it was raining out.

Take Care!
Brenda

Happy Friday!

Today was my last day of STS Mesocycle 1. I finished with legs, added on some ab work and did the extended stretch.

We have a lots to try and get done over the weekend. So not much rest time. We do plan on meeting some friends for dinner on Saturday, so that should be fun.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
Brenda

Hello! Today was Phase One Strength Two! Last Strength workout of Phase One! I'm pretty happy about that :D I think I'm going to do the D2S metabolic workout tomorrow, but also do a Cathe metabolic workout. I'm thinking Supercuts or half of Affterburn.

Brenda- That's me. I'm just bored, never actually hungry. If I'm actually hungry, I'll eat. I'll think about your name over the weekend. I like trying to think of things like that. As far as online support, I know there are coaches on Facebook that offer online coaching packages. Take a look at Sean Flanagan's page. Sean Flanagan, No-Nonsense Personalized Nutrition Coaching for Healthy Weight Loss I follow him on Facebook because he's funny, and have been intrigued by his online coaching. You could nose around to see what sort of thing he offers to get some ideas.

Hi Hearty!

My godson's baptism is this weekend. I'm really looking forward to it, should be a pleasant day. We might also take DS to see "Planes" in the theater. He's never been to a movie.

Have a great weekend, everyone.
