Buff Badgers Week of April 23rd

Morning Ladies,

Feeling really good this morning, and I wanted to do some cardio. Did KCM's 30MTF Kickboxing Workout 1 with Core/Abs premix. Felt great, and no problem with the cold. :D

Sam, Getting a different style is fun, and I bet you look really great! 10-10-10 is good because of the fact that the hi/lo is so short. I think 10 min. is the only amount of hi/lo that I would ever want to do. :D LOL about getting DOMS in slow motion, that is a good one.

Sue, Sorry to hear that you are having to work such long weeks. That can get old really fast, and you don't get weekends. :( My youngest is at Waukesha South tonight, she is enjoying track. At first she was having problems with being compared to her older sister. I just told her, Cassie is a freak of nature! She is proving that she is a good runner in her own way and time. :D

Brenda, I won't tell you when to expect that exercise! Let it be a surprise. :D I have done Insanity, and the Weider workouts don't have the dread factor that I get from Insanity. ;)

Susan, Have a great day also. ;) STS Total Body is one of my favorites!

Have a wonderful day!

Laurie - I have to come in 1 more Sunday (not scheduled yet) and hopefully that's it for awhile. That would be really hard to be compared to your older sister. I think that's part of the reason DS didn't want to do Band. Marching Band, Jazz Band and Wind Ensemble are DD's thing.

Sam - CTX upper body work is tough. I love Step and Intervals cardio. I've changed my hair so many times since I've known DH (almost 24 years now) and he made the comment a couple of years ago that I've had basically the same hairstyle since I've known him. I nearly fell over! I've had it longer, shorter, permed, straight, spiral permed and every combination in-between. I told that to my hairdresser one time and she laughed because she knows it's not true. Enjoy your night at home!

Hi Heartymax and Susan!

I did Jillian's Shred #1 this morning. Kept hitting the snooze button until that was all I had time for. REALLY looking forward to sleeping in on Saturday. Our female cat didn't help. She wanted to snuggle in bed with me this morning and purr.

Good Afternoon Ladies,

Today was cardio and I went with the Cardio Blast from BM2. Love that one. I did the step portion on the 8" step and went down to 6" for the blasts. For whatever reason my hips were bothering me (felt joint related). Might have had something to do with yesterday. On my left leg I was getting sharp pains in my ankle joint, knee joint, and hip. Weird that it was on one side. It smarted. Feeling better now. Slight discomfort in the left ankle but not too bad.

Susan - I love STS Total Body but I wish the warm up was more like something in Muscle Endurance or Muscle Max instead of the lifting. That is definitley a good overall workout.

Sam - My DH had issues with high triglycerides and cholesterol also and he takes a natural supplement to keep his numbers in check. His were extremely high and with meds from the doc and this supplement he got his numbers within normal range. Now he just takes the supplement. My dad had high cholesterol and only took the supplement and the doc was shocked and how well his numbers dropped with the supplement and not taking the meds he prescribed. If you're interested in what it is, let me knowand I can get you the info.

Laurie - I keep seeing workout from you that I haven't heard of. What is KCM's 30 MTF Kbx. I agree with the dread factor on Insanity.

Sue - I have two cats and know what it's like when they snuggle with you. It makes it really difficult to get out of bed.

Well, I have to get back to work.

Make it a great day!!

My youngest DS has been sick all week. I took him to the doctor on Wednesday morning and he has pneumonia. Due to his asthma this creates even more problems so he is home to take his meds and get multiple nebulizer treatments each day. He was also experiencing some muscle spasms in his hands that alarmed us. They ran some bloodwork and everything was normal. DH and I have been sharing the days off to be home with him. Yesterday I was exhausted and took the day off and just slept whenever DS slept.

This morning was S&H Chest and Back. Those planks at the end are very long. I haven't been doing planks much lately so it was very hard getting through them without a break.

Brenda---I hate the warm up in STS Total Body and High Reps because they use weights. I pretty much do my own warm up like the other videos and skip the warm up in this. Going directly into light weights is not my idea of a warm up.

Sue---at least you can see the end of the tunnel with the long work days. Shred is a good quick workout to squeeze in at time like this.

Laurie-- you always seem to find some good core work. Your abs must be getting stronger.

Sam----DOMS in slow motion is definitely funny. I guess there is no recovery period for you. DOMS everyday.

Hi! Susan

We are expecting relatively cool temps and rain this weekend. Earlier it said sunny and 70s. Oh how quickly a forecast can change.

Have a great weekend ladies.

Good morning and happy Friday! Yesterday was CTX All Step and shoulders. I should have gone heavier with the overhead presses. I tend to go way too light for shoulders because I tend to arch back when I use a heavy weight. That probably means I should do presees in a chair. I do that for 4DS and it's a lot more comfortable.

Speaking of 4DS, I think I'm going to do that next week.

I made Golden Grahams S'mores bars yesterday. Oh my yumminess. I couldn't leave them alone. I told DH to take a bunch to work today.

Heartymax- Oh, your poor DS! I hope he's feeling better soon, and I hope you're able to get some rest.

Brenda- What supplement did your DH take? My mom is a nurse that worked on a cardiac floor for many years, so she's been very helpful in hooking us up with good doctors. He's going to have some more advanced bloodwork done soon to get a better picture of things. If only I could get him to actually make the appointment

Sue- You brought be back in time mentioning spiral perms! I remember when those were all the rage. Sometimes I wish perms would come back in style. That wash and wear hair is so easy.

Laurie- Glad you're feeling like yourself again. I tend to reach for cardio when I'm fully recovered from something, too. Kickboxing especially seems to make me feel like I'm "back" :D

The deal of the day is Pyramid Upper and Lower Body. High Reps is on there, too. I was thinking of picking up both ;)

Have a great day and a fabulous weekend!

Morning Ladies,

This morning was Disc 40 Squat Rack Legs.

Sue, I love that snooze button also, did that this morning. Good thing the dog was so tired that she didn't want a walk. :D Nice that we have those short but effective workouts to use when we do hit that snooze to often. :D That is good that you only have one more Sunday. I don't have a job that requires that, and I'm very thankful.

Brenda, KCM is Kelly Coffee Meyer, and I have a lot of her 30 Minutes to Fitness workouts. I am a huge kickboxing fan, so I really like her Kickboxing and Train Like a Contender workouts. ;) Sorry to hear that you are having problems with your hips.

heartymax, Oh my goodness on your DS! Prayer to him for quick healing, and to you and your DH on added energy to take care of him. I do those planks every once in a while, I have the Ab Hits DVD. They have one ab workout that has plank work from S&H and CTX in there! That one is tough.

Sam, I was thinking that we would probably be posting around the same time. I highly recommend the Pyramid workouts. Hi Reps is good, but not one of my favorites.

Have a great day!

Happy Friday Ladies!!

Heartymax - sorry to hear about your DS. I hope he gets better soon!

Sam - CTX All Step was the first Cathe step workout that I did. That is what got me hooked. I will email you from home this weekend with the name of the supplement that DH is taking. The smore's sound very yummy! If you want to change up 4DS add one of the HiiT workouts instead of the Low impact step or the high impact step.

Laurie - I have one of Kelly's workouts that I do like. Don't do it real often but I do like it. I don't recall off the top of my head what it's called though. How did you like Squat Rack legs compared to Plyo legs?

Hips are doing much better today. Today was the last workout of Week 1 of the X-Factor. Tomorrow I have cardio. Not sure what I'll be doing. Was thinking of Cardio Coach Press Play on the elliptical. Tomorrow afternoon DH and I have a couples massage at the local spa. I can't wait!!

In case I don't get on over the weekend, everyone have a wonderful weekend!!

Brenda
