Buff Badgers week of Apirl 15th

t was a busy, fun weekend with nice weather. My youngest son had his first baseball game of the season. Team won 12-1. Son played well. He got to pitch for the first time. I love it when they are this age but it's about learning the sport and coach lets them try anything they want so my son got to pitch after the first player pitched his 60 pitches which is the max I think. My son walked a couple, struck out a few and there were no scores on his watch so I guess that's not too bad. Sunday was church and then we prepared dinner to take over to DH nephews house. Remember the baby shower that I went to last month. Well, nephew and the wife had the twins the day we got out for spring break and we were away after that. His wife was so appreciative of the home cooked meal and we enjoyed seeing those beautiful precious twins. I can only imagine how stressful it is to care for two babies.

Today was STS Disc 3 legs. I opted for cardio on Saturday instead of Disc 3 so I just did it today. I usually don't do a leg workout on Monday so I hope I can move tomorrow to get to do my workout.

Hi,

Sat. I did Punch Kick and Jam a turbo jam workout, on Sun. I did BTM 1.2 and today I am riding with Cathe.

Heartymax, sounds like you had a fun weekend. Your DS did well. I also like it when coaches are not so hung up on winning the kids get to try different areas of play.

I am going to try to fit in some yoga once a week. We got lots of snow and ice and rain last night. I need some sun and warm weather.

Have a good day.

Hi there! Saturday was PlyoX and Sunday was a rest day. Today was S90 Cardio Challenge, I don't rest when he has "rest moves" I do plyo/air jacks or squat jumps or something. I don't like to slow down!:D

Heartymax, so glad you got to see the babies! My good friends daughter is pregnant for the 1st time and with twin boys! She is so excited! COngrats to your son!

Karen, glad you enjoy Yoga...;) I too am so tired of this weather... Just makes me grouchy!

Have a good Monday everyone~ Susan

Hi!!

Saturday I went with Afterburn. Did my normal weekend chores. Sunday was my rest day. We invited DH's parents over for a light lunch and visit and it was a very long 2 hours. My FIL drove me insane. I love him dearly but he's such a negative person. He's constantly bickering with my MIL. I would have given anything to tell him to leave if that is the way he's going to be. I just took many deep breaths.

This morning I decided to pop in STS Meso1, Disc 1 chest, shoulders and biceps. All those push-ups. Had a really short night last night. It was one of those nights where I saw every hour and some of the multiple times. I couldn't get myself to relax and my left knee was bothering and my legs were restless. I hope I sleep better tonight. Might drink some chamomile tea when I get home to help me relax.

Heartymax - Congrats to DS on winning the first game.

Karen - I haven't gotten out a Turbo Jam workout in a long time. I need to get myself into yoga. I know it would help me. My problem is I get too bored with it.

Susan - I'm with you on this weather. I'm really sick of it along with everyone else. I want sunshine and warmer temps.

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Hello ladies! Friday was HoCo Volume 2, Saturday was Step Blast. No workout yesterday.

I spent this morning at my mom's watching Boston Marathon coverage since I don't have cable. My little brother finished with a time of 2:33:10! That's his personal best for a marathon. He finished in 111th place out of 27,000 runners. I'm very, very proud :D He stayed at a steady pace, between 5:46-5:50 per mile for the whole thing.

We had a good weekend. Went shopping for DS, and also got a decent blender, finally. I wanted a Vitamix, but it just won't be in the budget for a long while, so we picked up a Ninja at Target. I've been loving experimenting with smoothies and juices. Weirdly, my favorite one so far has been a savory veggie smoothie with hot sauce. :)

Brenda- I've been there. My MIL drives me insane most of the time. She's a very dear person... but pretty much the polar opposite of me.

Susan- I'm with you on the weather. I usually love WI weather, but it's really getting to me this year.

Karen- I should try to do some gentle yoga or stretching once a week again. I was being good about it for awhile, but I haven't been lately. I can tell the difference when I stretch after workouts, too. My range of motion isn't there.

Heartymax- Twins! How precious! I always thought twins would be fun until I actually had a baby. Now I can't imagine...

I'm headed downstairs to work out in a minute, but still haven't decided what I'm doing. Have a great day!

Just wanted to check in to say my brother and his wife are safe. They left the area only 5 minutes before the explosions happened. Please say prayers for those who were not so fortunate.

Sam your brother had an awesome time. That amazes me that anyone can actually run that far that fast. Congrats to him. Glad he and his wife are ok. A couple of people I know ran it and finished 10min or so before the explosion also. It seemed to hit mostly spectators. Definitely praying for the ones who are hurt.

Sam---glad your brother and sister in law are okay.

I overslept this morning. Didn't wake up til 5:30 so by the time I got dressed and got downstairs it was 5:40. I was determined to get in my workout and I wanted it to be intensed----Oh my did I choose a good one.....DOUBLE WAVE PYRAMID. Need I say more. That 30 minutes of Hiit had me collapsed on the floor at the end. Gotta run.

Hi gang! This morning was P90X Core Syn.:)

Sam, Wow! Your brother did excellent! He is quite a runner! So glad he is safe. So horrible what happened... When will this senseless crap end?

Hearty, way to go on getting up and getting in a workout despite waking up late. I tend to say, "I'll do it later", and later never happens!:D

Have a great day. Susan

Good morning! Yesterday was a long, long day. Even after we knew my brother was safe, we had to wait for hours to hear from them while they made their way, mostly on foot, to their hotel, which was in Newton. My mom had to deal with reporters calling her all day, and she was sick of it. I'll be picking them up from the airport this afternoon. What a terrible end to what was supposed to be a happy day.

Today is DS's fourth birthday. We're having the big extended family party on Sunday, so today is staying pretty low key. He opened one present and had some candy along with his healthy breakfast :D, and we'll be heading to Chuck E. Cheese for dinner tonight.

Yesterday I ended up doing HIS and the Back and Biceps premix from 4DS. I only got halfway through the weights section. DS was impatient for me to be done, and my phone was buzzing and ringing like crazy (I didn't know why yet).

Susan- No one knows how my brother ended up being such a great runner. No one else in the family runs much at all. So, we're all totally mystified but very proud :)

Karen- I'm glad to hear your friends are okay, too. It was a scary day.

Heartymax- DWP is my favorite of the HIIT workouts. It seems to go faster than 30/30 for some reason.

I'm not sure what workout I'll be doing yet. I've really just been picking things almost at random lately. Have a great day!

Good Afternoon!

This morning I went with Hardstrikes followed by 3 levels from Tabatacise. I was dripping wet with sweat. That kicked my butt but I loved every minute of it.

Sam - OMG!!! I thought of your brother when I heard the news. I'm so glad that he and his wife were safe. How scarey. Totally thrilled for him for doing so well!! Did he get bombarded by news crews when he landed. I had heard that they were at the airport this morning waiting for marathoners to get off the planes to talk to them. Hope DS enjoys his bday and that you all have fun at dinner tonight. How do you like your Ninja blender. I like mine. I heard Vitamix was really good but out of my price range.

Heartymax - Good job on DWP. Out of those three workouts, that one is my favorite.

Hi Karen!
Hi Susan!

Sun is out and it's a beautiful thing. Still on the chilly side but enjoying the sun!

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Good morning. I was very low-energy yesterday and ended up doing just the combos from Low Max. I did make myself use an 8" step and got a pretty good workout.

Brenda- Thanks for thinking of me. It was a tough day, for sure. And then... their connecting flight from Chicago was cancelled last night and they had to take a shuttle home . He did end up doing a TV interview at the airport yesterday. I guess he was on the 10 o'clock news on channel 12 last night, but I couldn't stay up that late :). My mom recorded it. I'm loving the Ninja so far. I've only made "green" smoothies so far, so they're a bit gritty, but it grinds of everything else pretty darn well. We also made "ice cream" with frozen fruit and milk the first night we got it, and it was very yummy. I think we'll be doing that a lot this summer.

I plan to do a total body, high rep style workout today. Either a Jari Love or Cathe's Hi Reps.

Have a great day, everyone!

Good Afternoon!

This morning I was thinking I had legs and thank goodness I didn't because I wanted to do Cardio leg blast and didn't have the energy for it. I had Disc 2 Back and Triceps. I got through the workout but I was on the weaker side. As I started to do the tricep kickbacks with the resistance band, my band broke and then I was going to use half of it and then that broke again. Guess I'll be buying myself a med resistance band this weekend. :)

Sam - Green smoothies is pretty much all I've made as well. The ice cream with yogurt and milk sounds good. I might have to try that.

Here comes the rain again. Everyone stay dry!

Take Care!

Hi, Today I did Urban rebounding and yesterday I did HoCo volume 4. I need to pick workouts that are easy on my knees as they hurt a lot walking down stairs especiallyl.

Brenda, sorry your band broke in the middle of your workout.

Sam, I like the music in Lowmax. What a crazy few days for your brother.

Rain and snow again.:(

Things are very busy at work this time of the year. I couldn't wait to get home on Tuesday only to remember my youngest had a baseball game. I dragged myself to the field. We lost the game and the boys played very different from Saturday...missing several balls and not making good judgement on a few plays. One of the parents mentioned that she noticed last year they didn't play as well on mid-week games----she wondered if they are tired from being at school all day. I believe that games like that one will help them learn and grow. The team we played was the best in the league last year. I don't think they are as strong as last year but they are still good. Anyway, after being so tired, I decided to sleep in and take a rest day yesterday. My body really needed it.

This morning was STS Chest, Shoulders and Biceps. I hate concentration curls.

Sam---glad that Ninja has been fun. One of my coworkers just got one and she was telling me how much she loves it. By the way, there is nothing low energy about an 8 inch step.

Brenda---HS and Tab---what a great kick butt workout.

Good morning! Yesterday was High Reps. Yowza! I have only done it twice before, I think. I forgot how tough it was. I really like the lower body work with the disc. The triceps section is very tough -- they are definitely sore today!

Brenda- Your band broke? Shoot. I tend to think of them as unbreakable. I think it'll scare the tar out of me if one ever breaks while I'm using it :)

Heartymax- I would think those midweek game would be tougher on kids. Sounds like you really needed that rest day.

Karen- When my knees act up, it's always going down stairs that's toughest.

Have a great day.

Good Afternoon!

This morning I had cardio and went with Imax 2. Some of those blasts really kick my butt. I really like the music in that one.

Karen - I didn't know you did Urban rebounding. I had looked at that wondering how good of a workout it would be. How do you like it?

Heartymax - Sorry the boys didn't play as well. Good for you for listening to your body and taking a rest day. I love concentration curls. I like any bicep work though. :)

Sam - Last week when I did High Reps I had forgotten how hard it was too. I was sore the next day. I was glad I was doing tricep kickbacks when it broke so at least it didn't go flying towards my face.

Enjoy the rest of your day!
Brenda

Hi,

Today I am doing HoCo Hardcore

Brenda, I think rebounding is a great workout. I actually get really bad doms in my ab area, especially my lower for 2 days I have had them now. I just did Imax 2 not long ago. I really like the music also.

Sam, can't remember is it arthritis or did you hurt your knee some other way? Am wondering how lower body work will feel on my knees. Any suggestions?

Heartymax, are you done doing HoCo now?

Hello! Yesterday I oveslept but I got on the elliptcal after work. This morning I did get up in time for Cathe's KPC.

Brenda, I have not done IMAX2 in forever, but it is one my all time faves!:D

Karen, I wish I had the height in my basment for a rebounder! It looks like a fun workout!

Have a relaxing evening ladies. ~Susan

This morning was 3 Tabatas and 15 minutes core only of HC. I have an evening event at work tonight and DS has a game tomorrow. Somewhere, Somehow---I am going to get me some rest.

Karen---I try to squeeze some of HC at least once a week. I am currently doing another rotation of STS but I want to make sure I at least get my abs good twice a week.

Susan--oversleeping is sign of the body needing some extra rest.

Sam--Hope DS party is a blast and your family has a fun gathering.

Have a great weekend everyone.
