Good Morning!

The weekend was okay. Went to see Chris Daughtry at the Washington County Fair on Saturday on Sundy we had 90th b-day party for an aunt on my dad's side and then another house gathering at our neighbor's. Did some yard work and some sewing. Other than that normal weekend chores.

Saturday I did All Out Low Impact HiiT and Express premix from Athletic Training (minus the warm-up). This morning I did STS Meso 1 Disc 1 Chest, shoulders, and biceps.

Hearty - Can't wait to hear about the RT.

Enjoy the day!

Good morning. We had a busy weekend, and I did no workout. Saturday we had a picnic with some old friends and then helped my brother and his wife move. They now live only four blocks away from us :) Yesterday was church, grocery shopping, cleaning, swimming lesson, and more grocery shopping.

I started Drop Two Sizes with Phase 1 Strength 1 this morning. It was a lot tougher than I thought it would be. On preview it looked really slow-paced and almost easy. It did have a nice controlled pace, but it was NOT easy! My legs are shaking. As far as I can tell, these workouts have NO crunches! Also, they start with the core work. That makes me very happy, because I'm always tempted to skip core work when it's at the end. I used 15# weights for everything except the shoulder presses, where I used 12#.

I am (mostly) following the meal plan for breakfast, lunch, and snacks, but I'm going to make my own dinners since I thought the ones in the book seemed kind of dull. But I'm trying to keep the calories low and the veggies high.

Tomorrow is supposed to be an active rest day. I thought I'd be doing my usual Cathe cardio on those days, but now I'm not so sure. I'll see how I feel tomorrow.

You're supposed to hide your scale and try on a pair of pants or jeans that don't fit very well once a month to track your progress. I dutifully did both last night. I even had DH take "before" pictures  I'm such a dork!

Heartymax- I can't wait to hear about the RT! I watched parts of the first workout and the step workout online, and both looked SO FUN!

Brenda- You sew? Clothes? I own a sewing machine, and I have sloppily slapped together a few things, but I wish I had the patience to make more complex things.

Sorry for all my rambling, there! I always get excited when I try something new! Have a great day!

I had an absolutely awesome time at the Road Trip!!! It was so great being around people who share a love for Cathe workouts. Meeting Cathe in person was an amazing experience. She is so patient as she talks to all her fans. She gives you the time that you need to ask questions and has a genuine interests. I must admit that I never thought I would be able to do 8 workouts in 36 hours but let me tell you--- but you ladies were right---The adrenaline was in effect and I had an amazing time. Saturday was really tough. We had a 60 minute step class followed by 40 minutes of bootcamp and then 40 minutes of spinning. There were two groups who rotated for bootcamp and spinning. I had never done spinning before but I made it through the class. I wasn't trying to impress anyone by having standing most of the time...I just wanted to keep pedaling and finish which I did. It was a kick butt workout and I had fun doing it. It felt really great to accomplish that. I think the workouts difficulty level varied and was spaced out well enough to allow us to get through all of them. There were 5 workouts on Saturday so it was the toughest day. There was also a zumba class that night for those who were interested and I was not but I did stop by to listen to the music and watch for a minute.

Amanda is absolutely gorgeous is person. Jai arrived shortly before I left on Sunday so I didn't get any pics with her. Ceidi is as cute as we already know. The food was really good. Cathe made sure we had plenty of healthy protein and carbs to keep us going.

I am in another check in and I knew one of the ladies from it would be attending the road trip too. That was nice because I felt like I already had a friend attending. We connected with a few other ladies and sat with them most of the time we were there. Attending a road trip is something I wish everyone had a chance to do. It is evident that some people have groups formed already due to attending other trips, but that is expected to a degree. I have to say that the positives outweigh the negatives and I know for a fact that I would want to do it again. It was so AWESOME!

The workouts are still online. I have on the white "halter tube top" and dark khahi shorts at the meet and greet. I got a good spot for class 6 video so check out that footage if you can. I am a couple rows over to the right (on the computer screen) from Cathe. I have on black shorts and a pink top with white on the side. There is some footage of me in the step class as well but the other one is better. I have on black capris (with pink strips down the side) and a solid pink tank for that one. My hair is in a ponytail for both.

I was trying to add a few pics to my album but I kept getting an error. I will try again later. At least I was able to change my avatar.

I am taking a rest day today. My body definitely needs it. I purchased Bootcamp/Muscle Endurance while I was there. I have been wanting it for a while so I decided to get it.

I was able to add the pics to my album later yesterday. I finally got it to work. I have been wanting Bootcamp/Muscle Endurance so I purchased it on the RT. I was very excited and had a hard time figuring out which one to do this morning. I decided on Bootcamp and wow is that a butt kicker. Love this workout. I don't do circuits a lot but I think I will be doing this one.

I forgot to mention how impressed I was with Cathe's gym. It is HUGE. I haven't been inside a gym in many years but it has so much equipment til I can't imagine having to wait for a machine. There is a track on the upper level and that was really nice.

Good morning. I. Am. Sore. Rest day or stretch only for sure today. Edited later: I ended up doing a Jessica Smith walking workout on You Tube. It kind of warmed up all my muscles and made everything feel much better.

Heartymax- I loved reading about your RT experience! I really would like to go again someday. I know what you mean about some of the ladies who already knew each other. I don't think they mean to at all, but the close-knit groups could make some people feel left out. I think I saw you during the step class when I was trying to watch it the other day. I'll have to go back and look again. How fun that you got to try spinning! I've never tried it, but I think it looks like a great workout. I hope someday I can go on the Glassboro trip. I really like Bootcamp. I was afraid to try it for so long because I heard it was such a butt-kicker, but it's also a lot of fun. The only part I still struggle with is those terminators. Yeesh. I can only get through about half of them.

Hi Brenda!

Tonight I'm getting a pixie cut! I'm really excited. My hair is sort of in between my chin and shoulders right now, and originally I was going to grow it long again, but I was so bored with the thought of that. Anyway, DH and I were watching TV recently and one of the characters has the cutest pixie cut... so I decided to go for it. This will be the shortest I've ever had my hair (at least on purpose... there was a botched cut about four years ago that I hated ). Wish me luck, and have a great day!

Good Evening!

This morning I wanted to do a killer cardio workout so I went with Intensity. Had to take a few extra breathers here and there but for the most part I did pretty good.

Sam - It is exciting to get and try something new. I can't wait until I get Cathe's new DVD's. :) Once in a while when you're sore the best thing to do is keep moving to warm up those sore muscles. Glad your body felt a better and it warmed up.

Heartymax - I didn't get to watch much online over the weekend. I'll have to go check it out. I'm knew you were going to have a fabulous time. So fun to hear you talk about the RT. Made me reflect on the Chicago RT. I'm with Sam, I would love to go on the Glassboro RT to see her studio and hopefully the rest of the crew. I've never done spinning either. Glad you enjoyed it. I love Bootcamp. Good choice of a DVD to purchase.

Have a great night!
Brenda

Today's workout was Intensity. Funny Brenda that we have been about on the same page lately. BTW, I always take a few extra breathers.

Sam--I hope you like your new hair cut. I have thought about going short but I love my pony tail so much for those days I don't have time to do my hair after my workout. I couldn't do those terminator moves either. I have to watch that one a few times to see if I can get it down even if it is at a slower pace:D

Hello,

This morning was STS Meso 1, Disc 2 Back and Tri's. It's nice to see where I was with my weights when I first started STS and to see the changes as I've continued to do it.

Hearty - Too funny... we have been about on the same page lately. Don't worry, you'll figure out the terminators. I remember having to watch it a couple times first before I figured it out. They are hard though.

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Good morning! I just finished Drop 2 Sizes Phase 1 Strength 2. I liked this one a lot, but next week I will use 20s instead of 15s. The lower body exercises were ones I was very familiar with, like Romanian deadlifts and step-ups, so I felt like my muscles could take on a heavier weight.

Once again I LOVE having the core work at the beginning. It's also only two exercises repeated once each. Short and sweet, but definitely challenging enough for me.

Heartymax- I really like my new hair. It's going to take some getting used to because I look like a totally different person, but it's a fun change, for sure. I should try the terminators at a slower pace. I just can't go up and down that fast!

Brenda- I keep forgetting that I really need to acquire Intensity. I'm looking forward to the new videos a lot, too. I'll be sticking with D2S for the next 12 weeks (!!), but I think the cardio in the new videos will be a great complement, particularly the step ones... I am SO excited for new Cathe step!

I'll try to figure out how to put a picture of my hair in a post this week. Right now I have to get dinner in the crock pot. My mom and I are giving blood this afternoon so we can get free State Fair tickets :)

Have a great day!

Sam----glad you look the new cut.

Brenda--I sure hopr those terminators get better or I need to figure out a good substitute.

Today was Muscle Endurance---Oh My--they could name it High Reps too. I have nevet done that glute raises move at the end. Not sure if my form was correct but I was feeling it in a few placed..LOL

Good morning. I am Ms. Sore Legs again today, but I did Low Impact Challenge without the blast at the end. With my tired legs, it definitely felt like a challenge.

Heartymax- I haven't done all of Muscle Endurance in awhile. I sometimes do the upper body premix. I usually can't face the thought of all those leg presses :D

Hi Brenda! And Laurie! And Susan! And Karen! ;)

Have a great day!

Good afternoon!

This morning I did KPC, only did one of the ab exercises as I was running out of time. Had a really good workout. Put a lot into those punches.

Sam - Yes, I sew some clothes. I'm actually sewing a scrub top for a gal that I work with that went to school in the medical field and is now trying to find a job. The pattern is for breast cancer. I don't mind sewing. Kind of wish I had more time for it. I've only been to the state fair once.

Heartymax - Muscle Endurance is definitely another High Reps workout. I don't mind all the leg presses surprisingly. It gives me a little cardio factor. Don't give up on the terminators. You'll get it. I don't know though that they ever get easier. ;)

What did happen to Laurie, Susan, and Karen??? I miss them.

Enjoy the rest of your day!
Brenda

I officially returned to work today. Yeah I know what you are thinking---ON A FRIDAY????? Seriously, I can't believe it either. I have decided that I actually need to use Cross Train Express. I purchased a few years ago on a 30% off deal because it was one of those "I wish I had Cross Train Express" until I actually got it and I don't even use it. I have done All Upper Body strength training one or twice and I have done Kick Box 2 or 3 times. I have never done the others. This morning I did Step Intervals cardio. I did upper body yesterday so I skipped the last part and added on the first two ab only sections of Horizontal Conditioning. I think that was a perfect combinations. I can get through the first two with breaks but I am tired by the last section so I can't get through it. I also don't like how my leg is out and I am lifting the weight. My form feels funny. I don't mind the side plank at the very end but I don't like the beginning of the 3rd segment. Brenda--do you know which part I'm talking about. Either way, my abs got a good work out.

Sam---I like LIC step challenge but I have a hard time with that last segment also. The premixes that i have tried don't have that last blast in it so I really like the premixes.

Brenda--I am not sure what happened to the other ladies. It seems like it has been just the 3 of us for a while now.

Happy Friday!!

This morning was STS Meso 1 Disc 3 legs instead of doing the extra toning part I did med ball abs from Ab Circuit and then the extended stretch from STS. The leg workouts from STS always seem to get me.

Hearty - I have cross train express as well but I've never done it in its entirety. I've only done pieces here and there. I think I know which part you are talking about with HC. I usually do something different on some of leg parts in HC. I don't like that one either where the leg is out.

Hi Sam!

Everyone have a wonderful weekend!
Brenda

Hello! Today was Phase 1 Strength 1. It felt a bit easier this time, but I was still sucking down my protein shake when I was done. My legs are certainly getting worked. If they aren't completely gorgeous after three months of this I'll know it was never meant to be :D

Heartymax- I really like CTX. (I bought it at the RT last year!) I do a week of it every once and awhile, but I use it more for the cardio workouts. Doing the whole upper body premix is quite the burner, also. I LOVE the tricep workout on there. I know what part you're talking about in HC. When I've done HC I tend to skip the leg stuff or just do part of it.

Brenda- I must confess, my favorite part of State Fair is having an excuse to eat truly evil food :p

Have a great weekend, everyone!
