Buff Badgers Week of 10/21

Good Morning!

Day 1 of my week off! Yeah!! Felt great knowing I didn't have to go into work today.

Friday was a bad day so I never got online to post. Friday was shoulders, biceps and triceps from Mesocycle 3. Had a good workout except for my triceps. The muscle started spasm on me so I was very careful and backed off on the weight some. Did great on the shoulders and biceps though.

Saturday I did KPC. Loved it as always. It's been a while since I've done the abs in that workout. Forgot how tough those peaks are on the ball. I did them and I felt it yesterday in my abs.

Sunday was my no workout day but I spent it bundled up cleaning up my veggie garden. I got everything good pulled out to the garden and all the plants pulled and I ended up with 3 big piles that need to be disposed of. I was getting so frustrated though because the ground was so wet and it was hard trudging through the mud all day and getting a build up on my shoes. I was glad when I was done.

This morning I started week 3 of Mesocycle 3 chest and back. My low back was a sore from all the stuff I did yesterday so it mad bent over rows extremely difficult. I couldn't bend over as much and I couldn't even do the last set. It was tightening up really back on my right side. The other two back exercises I did fine on but the deadlifts I used my dumbbells and backed off on the weight and did okay. Did great on the chest workout though. My body is not liking these cold temps.

This morning I have my mammogram and then today is cleaning day. Have to clean my parents house and then come home and clean my own since DH will be in Manitowoc doing maintenance stuff on his condo majority of the day. It's always best to do the cleaning when he's not around.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Hello. Saturday was PRS#1 timesaver premix 1 and D2S Phase 3 Complex Metabolic. I didn't care for the D2S workout. I'll do something else the next time it comes up. Sunday was my rest day. I don't know if it's the weather or what, but I'm feeling very blah and low-energy today. I just didn't have the energy for D2S so I ended up doing the combos only premix of Low Max. It felt good to get something done, and I'll do D2S T/Th/S this week instead of the usual M/W/F.

Our weekend was uneventful. I got to babysit my godson on Friday evening which was awesome. Saturday we didn't do much of anything, and Sunday we went to brunch with my MIL and then watched football. I'm working on a baby blanket for a friend and got a lot of that done.

Brenda- Oh, you must have been exhausted after slogging around in the cold and mud for that long. Yuck! My low back always seems to bother me with one-armed rows. Sometimes I'll even sit down for the last set. If I make myself stay standing, I can't lift heavy enough to actually work my midback. Frustrating.

I'm going to take a shower, go let out my brother's dogs, have a cup of tea, and try to get some energy going to clean up the house a bit.

Have a great day, everyone!

Hi Ladies. Didn't check in much last week but I ran 3 days. Took the boys to Six Flags for Fright Fest this weekend. They enjoyed it. DH and I just walked around and enjoyed all the shows or entertainment which was pretty good.

I increased my miles to 3.5 today. I hope to be at 4 miles soon. I haven't done a Cathe workout in a few weeks. I miss my normal routine.

Hello! I'm still feeling really sluggish today. DS seems to have come down with a cold, and I think my body's trying to fight it off. I did DS2 Phase 3 Strength 1, but I had to lower my weights for a couple exercises and still barely got through it.

Heartymax- I miss Cathe too when I'm trying something else for awhile, but it sounds like you're doing awesome with the running.

Hi Brenda!

Have a great evening, everyone.

Hello,

This morning I did the Cardio only from Cardio Leg Blast, followed by Hardstrikes and Core1, and then the cool down & stretch from Cardio Leg Blast. Had a good workout.

This morning I was helping DH put primer on the drywall in the basement before I had to leave for my appt with the Orthopedic doc. Outcome of that pretty much sucked. I have two options. Continue doing what I'm doing until I can't handle the pain anymore or have hip replacement surgery on my left hip. It has gone from moderate to severe arthritis to severe osteoarthritis. Talked to DH about it and I'm going to hold off for a while. I could have it done this year yet but that would mean being out of commission during the holidays. I'd be in the hospital for three days. DH doesn't really want me to do this over the holiday, which I'm okay with because I'm not mentally ready for this at all. Then I leave the clinic and I have a message from radiology on my phone I have to go back in for some more images on my right breast. Of course, they couldn't tell me if some of the images were bad or if they say something and need to check it out further. I managed to in right away tomorrow morning at 8am.

Tomorrow is our wedding anniversary. We're going to go down to our favorite place (No No's) for dinner.

Sam - I hope your not getting sick. Hopefully you can fight it off.

Hearty - Great job on the running. I know I'd be missing my Cathe workouts if I hadn't done them for a while. I'm sure you'll get to 4 miles soon. Glad you & your family had fun at Six Flags.

Have a great night!

H Ladies! Sorry I failed to post yesterday! My weekend was good, but boring. Saturday I did PR1, finally. It was a little complicated but I muddled through!;) Sunday was Flex Train. Monday I overslept and then after work I was busy getting ready for our book club meeting I had tonight.

This morning I did X10 premix 4. I loved it! It was tough but so worth it!:D

Brenda, I am so sorry to hear about the hip results. That stinks! I work with a woman who had both hips replaced , she did it over the course of 2 separate Summers. I hope your 2nd breast appointment comes out clear.

Sam, hope you stay healthy and don't catch the cold!

Hearty, good job running! With my achilles issues, I had read that weak glutes can make the problem worse. Well I must say that since I have been working my glutes more wth Cathe, my achilles is much better. It still has its moments, usually first thing in the morning but it is stronger over all.

Have a good evening! Susan

I'm Baaaack! :p This morning was Lean Legs and Abs. Love that workout! Basically I love all the new workouts! I think Rockout Knockout is my fave though.

Have a great day ladies, and I will check back later~

Susan

Hello,

This morning was Plyo Legs from Meso3 followed by the extended stretch. Had a good workout.

Did the additional images this morning on the right breast and after 1-1/2hr of being squashed, pulled, waiting, and then an ultrasound, everything is fine.

DH got in my face this morning about my workouts and my hip issues. I'm not sure that he gets it that it's a good thing I do workout out and keep my body moving. When I don't my body has time to stiffen up. He ticked me off early in the morning and it was like "Happy Anniversary to you too honey". We got passed that and all is fine. It's just one of those topics that I need to avoid with him unless I absolutely can't.

Susan - the women that you work with that had both her hips replaced, is she active? Is she happy with the results? I know I'll have to get it done at some point but I'm going to hold off for a while.

Hi Sam!
Hi Hearty!

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Brenda---my coworker had hip surgery this summer and she is doing great. She is 65 years young and had problems a few years before the surgery. At first they thought her pain was something else but was later determined to be her hip. She is so glad she had the surgery. She recovered about 6 weeks before returning to work. Happy Anniversary.

Today was a 3 mile chilly but nice run.

Hi ladies! I slept in today so after work will be Rockout Knockout. It was hard to wake up when it's been so chilly in the morning. Guess I better get used to it though!;)

Brenda, I wish my co-worker was "in shape", but unfortunately, she is not. She did recover much quicker from the 2nd replacement than from the first though. Think she was out 9 weeks with the first and only 5-6 with the 2nd. I must admit, my hubby and I argue like that a lot. If I get injured, I tend to try and get through it, he gets angry with me. If I stopped exercising with every slight injury or pain, I'd never workout!

Hearty, do you plan to run outdoors through the winter? Good job, you'll be running 4 miles, without any problems, before you know it!

Hi Sam!

Have a great day!~ Susan

Good Morning!

This morning I did All Out Low Impact HiiT, BC ab premix, Stretch Max (no equipment). At least one day out of the week I'm trying to add a longer stretch in at the end of my workout.

We had dinner out last night for our anniversary, which was very nice. Today we go to Blue Harbor in Sheboygan for an overnight stay. That will be fun. Dinner out again at our favorite restaurant in Sheboygan which is Rupp's. They have the best shrimp ever. Very very lightly breaded. What's nice about that place is they have a section of their menu for the lighter fare, which is smaller portions. I always get that and it's just enough. The normal one is always too much food for me.

Susan - I'm the same way with an injury, I usually work though it. I'll back off on the workouts and not have it as intense as I normally would but it's not too often that an injury puts me totally out of commission. I feel better though knowing that it's not only us that argue about stuff like that. ;) Haven't decided when I'm going to go through with the surgery. I need to mentally prepare myself for that. The recovery is what I'm going to have a hard time with.

Hearty - Kudo's to you for running in this chilly weather. I hate the cold. Good to hear about others that had hip replacement surgery and it went well. Still mentally not ready to go there.

Hi Sam - hope all is well.:)

Have a wonderful day!

Hello! I did not work out yesterday. I'm glad I skipped it, because I think it helped me fight off DS's cold. I've been rubbing essential oils all over myself when I get a chance, too; and I feel totally normal today. I did D2S Phase 3 Strength 2 this morning and had a great workout.

Brenda- From what I understand about hip and knee replacements, it's all about how much effort you put in to recovery, and if there's anyone I know who's going to do everything they can during recovery, it's you. I don't blame you for not being ready quite yet, but I think you'll be just fine when the time comes. The only workout-related arguments I have with Bryan are over him not working out :p, but we've had plenty of them... Happy anniversary! I hope you enjoy your little getaway.

Susan- I love Rockout Knockout. I think I'm going to do it tomorrow.

Hi Heartymax! Glad to see you're still running!

Bryan has his second phone interview today with Amazon in Seattle. They found him via Linked In and wanted to interview him for a software engineering manager position out there. He's going through the interview process mostly to get his name and resume in with Amazon, but claims he's not particularly interested in moving to Seattle. I hope not. It sounds exciting, but we have so many friends and family here... I think I'd be very lonely.

Have a great day, everyone!

Hi there! Happy Friday! This morning was Great Glutes. I swear if this workout doesn't get my rear in shape, well then it was never meant to be! It is one heck of a workout. My bum just burns so bad at the end, even stretching hurts!

My weekend looks quiet which is good!:)

Sam, hope you're feeling better today. I too, would not want to move to Seattle. Actually, anywhere BUT Seattle!;)

Brenda, you have a lot to think about and consider.I agree that with the shape you are in, you would probably heal faster from the surgery than one who is more sedantary. Hope you enjoyed Blue Harbor!

Hi Hearty! Hope your runs are going well. Brrr.. it's in the 20's here in the morning!
Enjoy your weekend~ Susan
