Buff Badgers Thurs 6/1

Cathlete
Morning BB's,

Today will be a 3 mile run and MIS. It's suppose to rain today, I hope it isn't scheduled when I plan to run.

We lost again in our softball game. I actually made it to home plate once. Yipee!

All of you talking about the TJ workouts has got me wanting them. I will wait for some reviews from you all before I take the plunge. Along with that I received the new Collage catalog in the mail and there are so many in there that I want also. x( Wish I had the money for the amount of DVD's I want. }(

Have a great day!

Laurie

Laurie, yay for scoring a run but boo for losing. :( Yes! I ordered the new Maximum Results package from BB. I just checked and they arrived in Oak Creek last night, so they may just be here today. Tomorrow for sure I'd think, now that it's in the hands of UPS and BB. I'm actually quite pleased with the delivery time considering all the bad things I've read about Beach Body's service and delivery.

If they come today I most likely won't try one until tomorrow. I will try to get my noon workout in, which is going to be some kind of weights. I haven't done weights in a long time and need to get started again now that I'm on track with the cardio.

Then Christy and I will do our walk again at about 6:30.

Day one of Nutrisystem was a success. All the food I had was very good and no cheats. There is a lot of food to eat! I felt full last night and didn't even eat everything I was supposed to (skipped a salad with dinner). So far, so good. :) Hopefully this weight will start coming off fairly quickly if I can stick to both the NS plan and my exercise.
:)
Jill

The weekend is almost here! I got up this morning and did Kathy Smith's Power Push. My shins are feeling better and I slept better. It was nice to have the windows open and get some fresh air! I forgot that I did an hour on the elliptical on Sunday before we worked on the yard. Might have been another factor in my shins hurting.

Laurie - Great scoring a run but sorry your team lost. Sounds like rain will be late and sporadic. DH needs to cut the lawn so hoping much later. Although I am enjoying sleeping with the windows open and don't want to close them.

Jill - it seems like BB is working on their shipping issues. Glad day 1 went well for you. It is so nice that you have someone to walk with. I have DH but it would be nice to have a female friend to walk with. When you get a chance could you email me with more info on NS?

Glad to hear you like NS so far. I have seen it and it looks like it would be easy to stick to.

Well, I did Rythmic Step yesterday. It felt great to be jumping and sweating again! My foot didn't bother me at all. However, 1-2 hours later, I could hardly walk down the hall it hurt so bad. This morning it hurt as soon as my foot hit the ground. I found on the internet an orthotic insert that Larry Bird and one other basketball player use. Apparently Larry was sidelined with heel spurs before he retired. He was given these inserts and was back to playing within 1-2 weeks. I am going to try them, they are only $25! My doctor said I could get injections and possibly surgery but I am trying to avoid those! I read where someone had to deal with this stuff for 10 years before he found relief! YIKES! I'll let you know how these inserts work...

Until then I shall be back to walking and biking, Pilates and strength work. Thankfully I have not gained any weight since being side lined. I need to keep up the good habits!

HAve a good day! Susan

Ah Susan, I feel your pain. Except mine is in the front of my foot and not the back. And now I think it's starting in my left foot, too. I'm thinking of getting a stationary bike once I move (someday, when someone buys my house lol) because I think I can put the weight more in my heel than the ball of the foot and it wouldn't hurt as much as the treadmill.

Marie, I have to leave for the dentist in a few minutes, but I'll email you later. Don't sign up yet if you are thinking about it! If I refer you and you sign up, we both get a $15 off coupon.

It IS great to have a friend to walk with, but I'm wondering how long it will last. Christy was all gung-ho when she started coming over to workout with videos, but it only lasted a few weeks. I hope she doesn't give up!

Today I am going to do some kind of short weight workout--maybe the upper body portion from Body Fusion. I don't have a lot of time during the day, but I want to get something in during the day, in addition to my night time walking. We've decided that 6:30pm is a good time to walk as it's not so hot and her DH is home then so we don't have a stroller to push, slowing us down.

I'll BBL!
Jill

Laurie - I hope the rain holds out until after your run. I'll let you know as soon as I try one of the TJ workouts. This morning they were in Elm Grove and out for delivery today. Yipee!

Marie - Glad you're sleeping better.

Jill - Do you still have to cook for your boys or can they fend for themselves? I think that would be the hard part of going on a program like that - preparing 2 meals each night.

Susan - So sorry your heel is acting up again! Ugh! I hope those inserts work for you.

I did my pushup challenge last night (27) and CTX biceps, triceps. This morning I slept in so no workout. Don't know if I'll have time to do anything tonight so may just take a rest day. Have to make some kind of treat to bring in for my 20 year anniversary at work. Yikes! Hard to believe I've been here that long but my job continues to challenge me and my role has changed greatly over the years.

Have a good day everyone!

Sue

Sue, it's about half and half. Taylor can fend for himself, but Travis is mentally disabled and cant'. However, very soon Taylor will be starting Legion baseball--they have games about 4 nights a week, so he won't be home. I do like to cook "real" meals for them since I know their dad doesn't, but they won't die if they have frozen pizza or mac & cheese more frequently. Right now I have a pork roast in the crockpot, which I use a LOT. The hard part for me is not eating the food I make for them! As for the NS food, there really isn't any cooking involved-you just pop it in the micro.

Wow to 27 pushups!!

Sue, You are doing an awsome job on the push ups. Are you doing them everyday? 20 years! Congratulations. I left my previous job after 16 years. Now that was hard to do. Lot's of crying on my part. But, they are closing the plant I worked at within the next year, so I made a wise choice at the time.

Susan, sorry to hear about your foot. But it is very encouraging that you have kept the weight off. What you have been doing is working.

Sue & Jill, I appreciate you both giving me reviews of the new TJ's. I'm planing on doing one from the first set on Saturday!

I'm thinking of changing my mind about my workout. I'm keeping the 3 Mile Run in, but I'm going to try out the new Rotation that Cathe put out for June. So tonight I'm trying out the Bonus Butt Workout! Honest, this is what Cathe called it.:+ and then I will add in the CTX Upper Body.

Laurie

LOL @ Bonus Butt Laurie. I already have one, I dont' need a bonus one. Ha ha just kidding.

Marie--I just emailed you re: NS, but I only have your home address. If you want me to copy it to your work, I think you have my email!

Laurie - I did pushups on Monday and again last night. Both times I've had some good DOMS and last night I didn't feel like my muscles were fully recovered so I'm waiting until Saturday to try again. So to answer your question, I'm definitely NOT doing them every day and only trying a couple of times a week. Not the way the army does it but I don't feel like killing myself. ;-)

Sue

P.S. I thought about doing the June rotation, too, but I knew my new TJs were coming and I'd want to do those. Maybe in July I'll do it.
