Good Morning,

Today I am doing Gauntlet. Still sore from my kettlebell workout on Sat. I can't believe how long these make my legs hurt.

Sue, congrats to DS team. What a season.

Laurie, how did the cross country meet go? Why did you decide to do 1/2 of the P90X's?

Susan, did your basement get cleaned up enough for you to use it or is it only elliptical for now?

lala, how is the run/walking coming? How is the therapy going?

dani, good job with P90X and your DH is loosing-how cool is that. Have you seen a difference in your weight or how your clothes are fitting?

We have a choir concert to go to tonight. DS10 lost the playoff game in flag football. He had a great year though.

Have a great day.:)

Good Monday,ladies!

Well, the doors are up in the basement! My BIL came and put them up Friday, right when I was heading down to workout! He left a BIG mess which I finally got around to cleaning up yesterday. So for now, I have my area back!DH said he'll have to take the doors down to stain and varnish them soon.:( I hope to do KPC today if I can fit it in. My DS8 reminded me he has a dentist appoinment right after school today and then DD11 and I have confirmation at 6:30. I'll see what I can do! DH arrived home safe and sound from his Wyoming trip. He shot a 450 pound female elk. He said he had never hunted so hard in his life. It was very tough. He was the only one in his group to get one. When I asked if it was worth it, he said "sort of". This week he leaves Wed. night for a semniar in Milwaukee and won't be back til Friday night! :(

Karen, it's good to see you back! How was your wedding?

I'll try to check back later. Until then, have a good day!!

Susan

Well I started replying to this thread over my lunch break but was interrupted by a call from the health room at DD's school. She jerked her neck really fast in gym class (basketball) and was complaining of dizziness and vision trouble. I picked her up and she seems fine except for a possible pinched nerve in her neck. Slight fever (only 98.9 but her head feels hot) so maybe she's fighting a bug of some sort, too. DD kept pestering me to call the nurse so I'm waiting now for a call back.

Karen - How did Terminator go?

Susan - Don't you wish they could stain those doors without taking them down and cluttering up your workout area? I had the same problem for awhile when DH was working down there.

Hi to everyone else!

Friday night was PLB and my hams are still so incredibly SORE! It was painful in church yesterday trying to kneel. You don't realize how much your hamstrings work until you try a simple movement like that and OWIE ZOWIE! Saturday was busy. I did a 1 mile walk before DS' football game and then after a lot of running around, came home and fell asleep on the coach. Yesterday was a cardio mish-mosh. I started out doing Amy's Kickbox Xtreme but the legs were just too sore for kicks so I did some SJP hi/lo and Imax2 blasts. This morning I slept in. Must be coming down with something because I'm very tired and my tummy felt a little twinge earlier today. Hmmm. . . is a sick day a good thing or bad thing? :p

Grrrr I just typed a whole message and I accidently erased it. Short version, I am still sick so no working out.

Karen good to see ya, and I have not seen any big changes but DH has. He has dropped down to a 32 waist.

Susan glad to see your hubby is back home and safe. Sorry he has to leave again so soon. I bet it is nice to have your work out area back even if it is just for a short bit.

Sue I hope your DD is ok. Great job on all the workouts you got in this weekend. I hope you don't end up sick I hate being sick.

Hi LaLa and Laurie!!!!

Sue and Dani,

I am sending get well vibes your way! Please take care and get back to "normal" soon! :D

Good Morning,

Today I am doing CC#7 on the spin bike. Yesterday I decided to to Kettlebell Way again and added a 2 mile run. It was just such a nice day.

Susan, did you get KPC in last night after all your running around. Just when you thought you weren't going to be single again your DH leaves. Tell him congrats on the elk. It's always nice to get something after some hard hunting. The wedding was fine, the reception was a bunch of 27 year old party people drinking or should I say spilling most of the drinks on the floor, dirty dancing-glad the kids were not there-and loud music. I would have loved to have ear plugs like DH mother did.

Sue, how are you feeling today? What did the Dr. say about your DD? Nice workouts in over the weekend. I guess we can be sore together.

Dani, not much info on your short version, but it is frustrating when our posts get deleted for whatever reason.

Laurie, how was your wedding? We were in Southe MIlwaukee for the wedding, thought about you on the boat on the lake. Was it cold?

hi lala, hope things are going well for you.

Have a great day.:D

Karen - Don't you just love walking on the sticky floor after they spill the drinks? I'm with you on the earplugs.

Susan - The get well vibes must have worked because I don't have that "twingy" feeling in my stomach today.

DD is fine. I talked to the nurse on the phone and she told me to give her Motrin and an ice pack for her neck and have her lie down. This morning she said it was a little less sore. I didn't end up getting sick but I wish I'd get that flu shot sooner rather than later. (Nov. 6 is when they're giving them at work.)

I actually got a workout in last night! I did GS-Chest/Triceps. Forgot how tough that workout is. Those pushups were real shallow at the end! This morning I did 2 CTX ab workouts and some stretching. Tonight DD and I are going to see the "So You Think You Can Dance" dancers perform. It was a birthday present from DH.

P.S. I added a picture of DS after his game on Saturday to my album. He looks bigger than he really is because the shirt is big on him and blowing in the wind.

Sue, neat picture of DS. He has grown up a lot since I saw him last year. He looks happy. I think he looks like you. What do you think?:D

Hello there!

Well, yesterday I did not get home until 5pm then I had to quick make, eat and clean up dinner to be out the door by 6:15, then did not get home until after 8pm. when I got the kids ready for bed and off to dream land. Finally sat down at 9pm to fold 6 loads of laundry! So, in answer to your question Karen, Nope, I did not do KPC yesterday! :( Today DS has TKD and we need to leave the house at 5:15. After school I have to run an errand, make an early dinner and scoot! DH is stuck late at work today. I am praying to squeeze in at least pilates before having to make supper!! Wish me luck! ;)

Sue, I am glad you are feeling better today! I agree, your DS looks like you! Of course I have not seen your DH but that pic sure is similar! Hope work is better this week!

Hi Lala!
Hi Dani!
Hi Laurie!

What a week. On Fri our high school staff was informed that a colleague of ours was killed in a car accident. It has been a tough time. Tomorrow is the funeral. Mon night the students held a candlelight vigil. It is such a tragedy and a sad time at the school.

I´ve been keeping up with my workouts, but am so tired tonight I may skip tomorrow´s.

Susan, 450#...sounds huge! Can you use the meat? HOpe that workout room gets finished soon!
Karen, sounds like you´ve been busy!
Dani, sure hope you get feeling better soon...and way to go to DH!
Hi to Laurie and Sue

Good Morning,

Yesterday I ended up doing Amy Bento Hi-Low Knockout. I really like this workout once I figured it out. The music is great. Don't you love the way I just keep changing my mind on what I am going to do? Today:rolleyes: I will do power hour. Maybe I will add some type of cardio as well.

lala, sorry about your co-worker. It is so sad when something like that happens. Hope you get your energy back quickly.

Susan, you can't get any busier. Let me guess, you didn
't have time for pilates? I hope I am wrong.

Hi to Sue, Laurie, and Dani.:)

Karen & Susan - Yep, for the most part DS looks like me and DD looks like DH. :)

Lala - So sorry to hear about your co-worker. :( Was this someone you knew well? Regardless, it's always difficult and shocking when a tragedy like this happens. {{hugs}}

Laurie - You must be having a busy week. Hope you're doing something fun.

Hi, Dani!

DD and I went to see "So You Think You Can Dance" last night. Katee was injured so she only danced 1 number. They're all so talented and what AMAZING BODIES they have! They danced 2 1/2 hours with about a 20 min. intermission. Some fluffy bits to fill time for costume and makeup changes but all in all a very good show. Didn't get home until after 11 - way, way past my bedtime  so I didn't workout this morning. Not sure if anything will happen tonight. Stupid work stuff to get done so might stay late (grumble, grumble).

Have a good Wednesday! 2 days until Friday!!

Good afternoon!

Karen, you are so right about NOT getting that pilates in. DS needed help with homework and DD needed me to help her finish up her science project. Before I knew it, it was time to take DS to Tae Kwon Do! Got home at 7:30 and had to do all those mundane things we Mom's do!

I was up until about Midnight!! DH has an interview today and at 10:30pm he asks me about his sport coat, shirt, slacks etc... Of course it all had to be ironed and ready to go! I actually "went off" on him last night after I got home with my son. He made the mistake of asking me why I was so grumpy.;) So I let him know how tired I am of doing all the running around and not getting to work out. It's really starting to tick me off! Starting next week, he is to be home and I am only going to be gone one evening a week! He leaves tonight for his conference so I have to take DS to football practice at 5:30! I overslept this morning so I didn't even get to walk Ruby! :( Okay, enough venting!! :p

Lala, I am very sorry to hear about your co-worker. Very sad news, especially when its so unexpected!

Laurie, hope your week is going well! :D

Hi Dani!!:D

Bye for now- Susan

Good MOrning,

Yesterday, I added 4DS bootcamp to my workout. That workout is not really tough. Anyway, today I am spinning and doing abs.

Susan, sorry you are not getting you workouts in. With all the running around you do it may be all that keeps you sane. I hope DH can pitch in and be a little less demanding on what he needs to have done. Is DS still liking Tae Kwando? Isn't football almost over(crosses fingers)

Sue, I agree with your blog, I think teachers don't think how much aggrevation they cause parent's with all the things they want them to go do or find. Sorry you are so stressed out and I hope everything falls into place and you find the costumes you need. Glad you liked So You Think You Can Dance. What a nice night for the girls.

Gals, keep up the good work on being super moms. You are spending time with your kids. Don't blink cause they will be grown up and away from the house quicker than we think. Keep on keeping on.:)

Hi lala, Dani and Laurie

Have a great day!

Hi there!:D

Well, at least I woke up early enough to go for a walk/run with Ruby. I decided to try jogging with her and she did a great job! Usually Ruby tends to run me all over, following her nose, but today she did great! Hoping to go a little farther tomorrow.

Karen, this week is the last week for football! Yipee! :DThings will slow down after Saturday which is what I am looking forward to! Also, next Thursday and Friday there's no school so I am already excited about that!

Tonight DS has to be at the High School football game by 6pm to do something at half-time. DD11 told me she'll need my help after school with a paper she's writing. DH is down in Milwaukee until Friday night. It's pretty sad when as soon as you wake up, you think all day about going back to bed! ;)

I'll check in later, til then, have a great day!

Susan

Hi Gals,

I am still sick!!! I cannot believe it. I took off yesterday, I had to go in today, and I have off the rest of the week thru Monday. On Saturday DH and I are suppose to go out for his B-day. I am taking him to McCormick's and Schmik's for oysters on the half shell. (sorry if that grosses anyone out.)
No workouts this whole week, so I am not sure where I should pick up again. I am thinking of just starting phase 2 over. I am hoping to be feeling well rested by Sunday.

LaLa I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your colleague. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Sue I love So you think you can dance!! So jealous!!!! It sounds like it was amazing.

Karen I haven't seen any big huge changes since doing p90x. I think I need to tweak my diet a bit and add more cardio when I get better. I just need to lose my saddle bags which I have had even in high-school and my jlo butt. I would love to be more sculpted but I need to increase the weight. My DH said in Iraq I was lots of muscle, but I am so short I looked horrible. I am 5'4'' and I weighed around 145 then now I am 120. I tend to disagree with him that I had alot of fat attached to that muscle. I hope that gives you a better idea. I really don't have weight to lose just want to get defined and with me being sick I am eating crappy and not working out. Sunday will be better.

Susan you are amazing and a incredibly busy women. Great job! Here is a pat on the back from me. Keep up the great job even though I know it can be trying at times. ;)

Hi Laurie I hope you having a good week.

Hi gals,

Today I am doing Gauntlet.

Dani, hope you start feeling better soon. Hope you have fun out to eat with your DH. Wish him a Happy Birthday.

Susan, glad you got a jog in. It is so nice of Ruby to cooperate. It is always nice to have something to look forward to. Two days off from school definitely fits into that category.

Hi to Lala, Laurie and Sue.

Tomorrow I will do Kettlebell Way and some pilates. Sunday will be off.

Have a great weekend all you Buff girls.:)

sorry to be mia, but I have been so busy at work. Had a supplier meeting every day for our project. And then of course all the notes that had to be compiled from those meetings. It was actually a lot of fun, but it sure took up a lot of time. Of course I still had to keep up with all the other parts of my job too.

The wedding was a blast, and I'm hoping to figure out how to get a pic on my profile. :) We watched oldest DD at her conference meet, and left right from there. We got to Chicago, and made the mistake of getting off the freeway at the exit that google maps told us too. It took us 30 min. to go 6.6 miles. Checked into our hotel, zipped our clothes on and headed to the wedding. I'm so glad that weddings don't actually start on time. :D After the wedding we had some time to kill before we had to be on the ship, so we had a drink at our hotel. The strangest experience was drinking alcohol while the ship is moving. I only had two glasses of wine, and it felt like more because of the movement of the ship. They couldn't go out any further than the breakwaters, so we just kept turning and turning and turning. They had appetizers until dinner started. Then you had your choice of five different items for your first course, and five for the second course. :) The desert course they just put out on a table. The wedding cake was very pretty, but tasted awful! It was sweetest day, so they shot fireworks off of Navy Pier. That was pretty cool. :) Once I was on dry land I didn't feel like a drunk anymore. Went back to our hotel, and went to the bar! Overall it was way to much fun!:D

My workouts are all screwed up because of my work week, but I'm going to be getting back into the swing starting on Monday!

Will try to check out what has been going on in a bit!

Laurie

Happy Friday!

Laurie, glad you are back! Sounds like a fun time at the wedding. Looking forward to seeing pics!

Last night was awful! DH was in Milwaukee. I had to take DS to the varsity football game so he could perform at 1/2 time. I left my DD11(almost 12) at home and told her to get her homework done. I was to be gone about 2 hours and figured that would be enough to get most of it done. Well, I was wrong! She "had to" go on the internet to print out pictures for a project. She ended up being on the computer the entire time I was gone! And she didn't even get the pics for the project! Needless to say she is grounded from the computer. I stayed up with her until 11:30 to get her homework all done. After I got her off to bed, it was 12:30 before I fell asleep! I woke up at 6:15 instead of my usual 4:45. Thank goodness Ruby slept with me! She was nudging me to get up!:p DD did not want to get up this morning!

I tell ya, this week could not be over fast enough! Saturday is DS last football game! I will be doing Step Blast tomorrow. Sunday I think I'll do KPC or something. No big plans for the weekend- Yipee!!

Enjoy the weekend! Susan

Susan - Kids goofing off at our house on the pc instead of doing their homework is a problem at our house, too. They've never kept me up until 11:30 though! I would be pretty miffed, too. Better days are ahead. Tell DH he isn't allowed to leave the house except for work for awhile. ;-)

No workout on Wednesday and Thursday - ugh! Eating poorly as well. Last night was Mexican pizza at Taco Bell because we had a 2 for 1 coupon. It didn't even taste very good but I was starving by the time we had dinner at 7:30 after parent/teacher conferences and dropping DH's car off at the dealership. I feel like a cow today. Did KPC Cardio Conditioning and amazingly was able to keep up (scratching my head). How does that work? I'm not doing as much cardio and carrying extra weight so you'd think it'd be harder??
