Morning BB's,

Today will be GS CT, Abs, and cardio only of 10-10-10. Tomorrow will be a 5 Mile Run and GS Legs Floorwork. Sunday is my stretch day!

So glad it is Friday today! :D

Have a great weekend everyone,

Laurie

Good morning,

I'm also glad it's Friday. I would have loved to have stayed in bed today — it's the perfect kind of day for it!

After work I'm going to do S&H legs and shoulders and some kind of cardio. Possibly one of the Imaxes, but we'll see. Tomorrow I'll probably take a cardio break and just do S&H chest and back, then yoga. I have my mini spa day tomorrow so I don't want to be too tired to enjoy it :)

What a difference 30 degrees makes! It's really fall now.

Take care,
Ellen

I'm alive! I'm alive!! Marie, thanks for the email. *hugs* I have been so swamped lately, I'm sorry I haven't checked in.

Mace is keeping me really busy. I have to watch him every second! It's like having a toddler again, sheesh. We are having trouble with housetraining and chewing on appropriate items. Other than that he is great-he's really smart and learns easily, and is very good about going into his crate when I tell him. But we are having one poo or potty accident in the house every day, and he loves rugs. I never realized how many throw rugs I have around my house until Macey boy came to live with us! The spray didn't work well, so now I'm shaking a can with pennies and saying no and that seems to be working. I wish I could get him to "tell" me when he has to go outside, though.

I am also back to working out after pretty much taking September off after my breakup. What a crappy month. I didn't exercise and ate junk, so what a surprise-I gained 8 pounds! I'm back on track now, though, working out just about every day, and feeling much better.

Our homecoming game is tonight and we will be bundled up for sure. It's going to be so cold out!!! Tomorrow night my son has his first "real" date----he's "gone out" with a few girls before, but before this year (hs sophomore), that basically consisted of wakling in the hall together lol. I am very good friends with his date's mom, so we are going to drop them off at a restaurant and go have a couple of margaritas, then take them to the dance. :)

Hi to Laura & Ellen, the early-birds. :)

This morning I went to Contours Express with my friend. She's been going there and loves it and has been bugging me to join. I'm not going to. It was really fun to workout with a friend, but I am too advanced for a place like that-not bragging, but it is true. While it's a step up from Curves (you can adjust the weight on the machines and they have small classes), it's not enough to justisfy spending $30 a month when I have it all at home.

Okay, I will try to check in daily again starting next week---my job has been crazy-busy lately, too, it's not just the dog. But I finished the second of two big projects I was working on yesterday. Yay!

Jill - Glad to see you're alive! :) Don't worry about checking in every day - we were just all wondering how it was going because we hadn't heard from you for awhile.

Ellen - I think you were the one who wrote about petting your dog as you did tricep exercises. That is so funny! Last year when we first got the kittens they were constantly underfoot and had to learn to steer clear when I worked out. Fortunately, they learned that lesson without actually being stepped on. They still like to come over when I do floorwork or stretching - especially when the little buggers are hungry.

Laure - Do you run outside? I don't have a treadmill so I don't know what I'll do about running in the cold weather. Actually, cold I can handle - it's the wind and rain I don't like. I think I'll have to invest in some good outdoor running gear.

Rest day for me today so I slept in and it FELT GREAT!

Have a good weekend and stay warm!

Sue

Hi BBs!
Just cardio for me all week. did I mention I fell trying to slip off some shoes and banged myself up. Just sore and bruised so nothing serious but didn't think weights would be a good idea since my arm had major soreness and a huge bruie. I hit my arm on the corner edge of the computer desk as I fell so that was the most significant injury.

Jill - glad to see you back! Is there a way to limit access to certain areas of the house for awhile? We did to make it easier to keep an eye on what he was up to. Also keeping him on the leash in the house in case you need to catch him quick for discipline or to get him outside. THe can with pennies didn't work for us. Just the spray bottle of water. At his age it is tough to tire him out but any exercise you can give him will help. Will he play with toys? Can you try to sub acceptable things for him to chew on? When does training start?

Have a great weekend everyone! We will be painting again.

Sue - other things to deal with when running outside this time of year is the darkness and soon ice and snow. Easier to slip or trip and injure yourself. But just thinking from the mind of a klutz that would do that. It is very dark where we live. And don't forget reflextive gear so cars don't hit you. Glad you enjoyed your rest day. Sometimes you realy need those.

Marie, he's pretty much near me all the time, except when he quietly goes into the living room (formal, which nobody ever goes in lol) to poop. I keep thinking it's my fault for not taking him out enough, but yesterday he pottied in there 20 minutes after we were outside. He has about 18 different chew toys and balls, plus bones and cow ear thingys, so it's not like there isnt' anything. I'm just keeping an eye on him and giving him a toy when I tell him no on the rug thing. He's being good about not taking shoes, so I guess I'm happy about that. I had decided against obedience class, but now I'm re-thinking that. But it seems like a lot of time and money when there are only 2 problems that he will probably grow out of. I'm not sure. The one near me, in Mukwonago, started the night I got him, so I can't start anyway for a few more weeks. Time will tell...

Sorry to hear about your bruises. Be careful!

Sue I haven't slept in since I got Mace! He is an early riser, and although he's good in his crate and doesn't cry, I don't want him to wait so long to go potty, so I'm getting up at 6:30 on the weekends. Since he's usually asleep by 9 or so, making him wait longer than that seems kind of mean.

Has anyone heard from Robin lately? How about Amy? OMG I forgot which one of them is pregnant! I HAVE been gone too long!! LOL

Hi Jill,

Glad to "see" you. Amy is the one who was pregnant; I don't think she's checked in. I hope she's feeling well.

Training a dog is frustrating, but from what I remember, if you're consistent, at some point it will just click for them. My boyfriend and I weren't living together yet when we adopted Bailey; she was just living with him, but there were a couple of times when she actually pooped on his bed. He got SO frustrated with it all, but then after about two or three months, she just got it and has never gone in the house since. I think it's just a matter of having some degree of punishment that happens immediately, so he knows what he's in trouble for. That can be tricky, but I think it's important. Or if you see him starting to go in the house, take him outside immediately so he associates outside with where he goes to the bathroom. Positive reinforcement when he goes outside is also so effective. Outside = good; inside = bad. It just needs to click in his head. It'll happen.

It took a little longer to get Bailey out of her chewing phase. I lost several articles of clothing to her: shoes, bras, socks, underwear... she even tried to chew Jeff's sunglasses. But again, that stopped all of a sudden too. I think she just grew out of that.

Take care!

Ellen
