BUFF BADGERS Fri 2/18

lvnascar

Cathlete
Morning BB's,

Today will be Kickmax. No swimming tonight for my eldest DD, so I will be able to do my workout without having to stop, drive to practice, then start up again. Saturday will be Bootcamp and Tae Bo Abs & Glutes. Sunday will be MIS.

Our driveway is full of ice/snow combo. Guess I'm going to have to help DH with this tomorrow.

As you can tell by my forum name I love NASCAR. My eyes will be glued to the TV on Sunday! We will be having my DH's geek car friends over also.:) Go car 17!!!

Have a great day and weekend!

Laurie

Hi Laurie and others who follow-

Yay - Friday at last. Whoohoo! I don't think we got as much snow here as they had predicted, but it blew and drifted pretty badly. It's wintery up here, for sure. Supposed to be a deep freeze this weekend, too. February with a vengeance!

Last night I did LowMax and CoreMax section #2, which is always very depressing for me. The pikes - not happening. The ball exchange - not happening. My core must be made of jello!!! So discouraging. I just can't keep my back pressed flat during the ball exchange, it makes my back arch too much or something. Ugh.

Laurie - have fun watching Nascar! Sounds like fun! Isn't it kinda nice when a child's activity is temporarily suspended, giving you more time for something else? My DS was on a break week from swimming and it was nice to not have to schlep to the Y.

If anyone is curious, the appointment with the perinatologist yesterday was fine. They basically took my history of miscarriages, took blood, outlined tests, etc. Looks like 2-3 months of testing. We'll see what happens, I guess.

Cheer, everyone! - Sarah

Hey all, I'm alive!! Barely keeping my sanity during tax season, but still breathing. I have not worked out in about 3 weeks. :( Working 12-14 hours every day doesn't help, nor does the cold I've had for 2 weeks. :(

Laurie, I'm not into Nascar as much as I was when I was with DBF (total N addict) but Matt's my favorite driver too. I'm a homie! Taylor did the drive last night but of course the plows came by again later and now we have the typical big blockage at the end of the drive. I am dreading having to go out to the p.o. soon. Brrrrr.

Sarah, I've never done a pike either. I told "the girls" here that my friend started working out with me and did pikes the first time and she hadn't exercised in 3 years! I was po'd! But there are things I can do that she can't, so I guess it all evens out.

Update on my housing situation: you all know I was depressed not to be able to take the condo in Elkhorn. But the more I think about it the less happy I think I would have been there. Yes, the condo was beautiful, but no offense to Elkhorn, I don't want to live there. I want to stay in East Troy; I love it here. So I took my house off the market. I found out that someone is building a small group of condos here in town that will be done in August, so I'm waiting for information on that.

In the meantime, I did a little bit of decorating changes. Ya know how you love something and kind of overdo it? That was me with lighthouses about 5 years ago. Now it's to the point that I want to puke looking at them lol. I had a lighthouse border that went across my whole family room, eating area, and kitchen. Last Sunday I finally had it and ripped it all down. But duh----didn't think about it ahead of time: five years of the border being up meant the rest of the walls looked dull. So on Wed. night I painted the whole area (with the help of DS and his GF thank goodness) and it looks much nicer. I also patched up the curtain stuff and bought a new set of curtains and decorative rods, and hung some pics up a little differently. Much nicer looking!

I hope to get back on my workout track soon. I'm doing okay with the eating. Not fab, but not horrible. I'm still down 10 since 1/1.

Happy weekend everyone!
Jill

Good afternoon, BBs!

Laurie - I don't watch Nascar but I'll cheer for #17 anyway! (whoever the heck he is)

Jill - 12-14 hour work days - ugh! LOL what you said about decorating phases. I was big into stenciling with wildflowers in my kitchen/dining area and pineapples in my kitchen. Got rid of those when we remodeled the kitchen.

Sarah - Hope all goes well for you over the next few months while they do testing.

Ellen - I rented "The Constant Gardener" to watch over the weekend. I think you were the one who said it was good. I love Rachel Weisz and Ralph Fienes so it already has 2 good things going for it.

Have a sock hop to go to tonight at my kids' school. The kids always have a good time but the parents just sit around and talk. If you see people you know, it's great - otherwise, it's a real looooooong night. Luckily, it only lasts until 8:30.

I did PS-CST, PS-BBA and 100 walking lunges this morning. Tomorrow is Imax2 and Sunday is PS-SLA.

Everyone have a great weekend and stay warm!

Sue

Sue-yup that's no exaggeration on my work hours right now. 2/15-3/31 is really a horrible time in my life!

Didja guys see the announcement? Cathe's new workouts are finally going to be filmed!!!!

Hi BBs.
Jill - I hope the condos in ET work out for you! Hang in there during tax season.

Slept in this morning since it was a day off for me. I had to take my car in for repairs so not really a fun day esp with the weather.

I was not happy with the return of winter and the cold weather. I was very spoiled by the mild winter and enjoying it. But March is almost here so better weather is not far away.

Today was more kickboxing. Tomorrow is spinning for Cystic Fibrosis - a fund raiser since one of the employees has a daughter with CF.

Still not sure what to do about the landscaping in the front. I got the quote from Hawks but some things I would like changed so need to see if that is possible. The front of the house faces north (shady but not too bad) so that makes it harder. When they put the sidewalk in they made it so that the part rignt next to the door is fairly narrow and that is another thing that makes this challenging.

Laurie - enjoy the race this weekend and the get together with friends.

Sarah - hope all goes well with your appts and they can give you some answers.

Sue - enjoy the sock hop tonight. Doesn't that music wnt to make you go out and dance?

I woke up early and shoveled for 45 minutes. I'll be doing Pilates this evening for an hour. Tomorrow will be IMAX 2! :)

Laurie: We love NASCAR here too. My hubby is inviting his buddy over. Hubby is a #24 fan, I am a #8 fan and my son is also a #8 fan. My son was a #2 fan til Rusty retired!

Sarah, I truly hope all goes well for you and the road ahead!

HAve a good weekend everyone! Take care- Susan
