Good Morning,

Today I got up early and did 4DS chest/back/abs/legs. Hope to get a run in later but I have dentist appointments for 3 kids tonight and have to pick up DD15 from track.

Soccer starts for the boys tomorrow. Every day except Fri is soccer between the 4 kids playing. We still have lots of snow from our eight inches on Fri. It really looks and feels like winter here. 19 degrees this morning.

The guys will be back again today. Hopefully only a few more days.

Hope you all had great weekends relaxing or working out.

Have a good day.

Morning BB's,

Todays workout was 2m run and 4DS Back & Biceps. I will get in some Ab work after dance class tonight. Nothing exciting this weekend, DD's track meet was cancelled because of weather. Guess no one wanted to run in rain/snow. x( DH is in Vegas this week, he actually got registered in his hotel room around 1:30am Vegas time. Only problem is that he woke up at 5:30am our time. He is going to be very tired tonight.

Karen, You have one busy night going for you tonight. And it sounds like the rest of the week is the same way. Do you still need to vacate the house, or are you able to stay at home now? Dang you really did have a cold morning. Ours wasn't as bad.

Sue & Susan, How did your weekends go?

Is everyone looking forward to the warmer weather coming our way?

Have a great day!

Laurie

Karen - You are such a busy mom! I can't imagine having 4 kids in soccer and driving them around to games and practices! Do you have anyone to carpool with? Good job getting up early. You're doing better than I am. Hope those workers have better aim today. It felt like winter this morning here, too. 32 degrees this a.m. Yesterday we had a dusting of snow (or maybe frost?) on the deck.

Laurie - Good thing your DD's track meet was called off. Saturday's weather was miserable. I was thankful for DH's bun warmer seats to help keep me warm. :) Was your DH effected by flight cancellations and that's why he checked into his hotel so late? What hotel is he staying at?

Susan - Hope you had a great weekend!

On Saturday I did PS-CST plus Imax3 step only premix + blasts 1-5. Sunday was PS-SLA (minus the abs). Did PS-SLA abs this morning and that's all I felt like doing. Tired after the busy weekend. Will do cardio tonight or consider today a rest day depending on what the homework situation is.

DD had a good birthday. I let her frost her own cake so of course it had a generous amount on it. After dinner, cake and a couple of presents, I drove her to her dance. Afterwards, she went over to a friend's house for video games. DH and I had a date night on Saturday and went to see "21" (very good) and ate Thai food afterwards. On Sunday, DD and I went to my mom's house to visit my sister from Colorado and her husband while the boys went to baseball camp.

Roadtrip!

Guys - Did everyone see the Roadtrip announcement? I would seriously consider this if I knew one of you guys wanted to go. I went in 2005 but didn't know a soul (not even the person I went with!) and still had a great time. Going with one of you would be a blast! It's expensive I know - especially when you consider airfare, hotel, meals (although most are included), shuttle, new workout clothes (mine look pretty pathetic!). I would use it as my incentive to FINALLY lose this weight! What better motivator? Something to think about . . . I haven't even talked to DH yet!!!

RE: Roadtrip!

Hi all,

Didn't get my run in yesterday. My workouts are really getting messed up. Today I want to do a run after the kids get home from school to watch DD5. I am just so tired all the time, no motivation to do anything.

Laurie, is DH gone for work? The time difference always gets ya doesn't it? Did it bother you when you flew to meet your Xers? Will they reschedule the track meet that was cancelled?

Sue, I would love to go on the road trip but we are on a very tight budget and there is no way I could come up with that money. It would be a blast though. It'll be many years before we are out of debt enough to do anything. You got some good workouts in over the weekend. It sounds like DD had a great birthday. I am glad you got to go out too.

Susan, hope you are doing well.

Have a great day.

RE: Roadtrip!

Hey everyone! :D Sorry I forgot to post yesterday! Sometimes those days just fly right by! My weekend was pretty good. DH is getting pretty far with the bathroom downstairs. I did a run/walk Saturday morning but it was cold, snowing and windy. YUCK! Sunday I did the elliptical for an hour and Monday I did Supersets.

Today will be KPC. I feel like punchin' today!

Karen, I am with you and being tired etc... I feel like I am running on empty most days. WOW! I thought it was tough running 2 kids everywhere! We are only busy with sports on Sunday, Monday and Wednesday this Summer.

Sue, I also will not be able to budget going this year! My DH is going hunting in Wyoming in October and we're saving for that plus too many other projects at the moment! ;-)

Hi Laurie!

Talk to you soon! Susan

RE: Roadtrip!

Susan & Karen - I completely understand about the budget issue. In fact, after I got over my initial excitement over the Roadtrip, I sat down and did some quick calculations of what it would actually cost to go. I came up with $700-$800 depending on if you share a hotel room or not (registration $250, airplane $250, shuttle $50, hotel $100/$200, $50 misc.). When I look at that, it's a fair chunk of change. :-( Of course, these are all estimates of what it would actually cost but I think they're pretty close. DH would probably let me go but I'd feel guilty. $700-$800 is about half the cost of a decent treadmill! Plus there are tons of things we need for the house we could spend the money on instead. . .

No workout last night. DD got a 95 on her Geometry test and DS brought home a great report card so I rewarded them by taking them to the library (which they were begging me to do). Did PS-BBA this morning. Dojo tonight.

RE: Roadtrip!

Morning BB's,

Todays workout was a 3m run and 4DS Lower Body Weights.

It amazes me how much more stuff I take out to do Cathe workouts vs. the P90X workouts. But so far I'm having fun, but I do need to get 25 and 30# dumbbells. I also need to get more plates for my barbell. I will check out Play it Again, befoe buying new.

Sue, I probably won't be going on the roadtrip. With the trip to NC and the fact that both trips are during the summer. With faire that isn't going to work. Congrats to your DD and DS, they did deserve a treat for the hard work. The school wants my DD11 to go to summer school for reading, but I'm thinking of having some private tutoring done with her. Most times these summer programs don't help the student at all.

Susan, You where a brave one to go out for a run/walk on Saturday. I took Cami out, and came back covered with snow. x( It didn't look that bad when I first started the walk, but the pellets of snow just stuck right to me. Glad the bathroom is progressing.

Karen, Sorry to hear that you have the low motivation. I get that way every once in a while. Last time I had that I changed the time I did my workout. That helped me a lot. Yes DH is in Vegas for a conference. All the gadget people are there for TV. I actually went with him one year, and had a good time. Yes DD's track meet is scheduled to run tomorrow. I think the time difference really affects you when it is over an hour. I didn't really see a problem because it was an hour earlier. Felt like I did over sleep sometimes though. :D

Have a great day!

Laurie

RE: Roadtrip!

Okay, so today was going to be KPC. This morning when I actually had energy that sounded good. Now, I am home and I am sore, achey, tired, irritable. I had a wicked day today! I am instead going to do Pilates MAx.(20mn) followed by Pilates Advanced (30mn), followed by Pilates Power Sculpt Buns & Thighs (20mn). Hoping this will stretch me out a bit!

RE: Roadtrip!

Hi! I'm back!

Feeling a little under the weather today. Bad sore throat and sinus problems. x( Hope to do SJ&P later. I need a nice, long nights sleep. I don't think I get enough! Only about 6 hours...

Make today a great one! Susan

RE: Roadtrip!

Susan - Hope you're feeling better soon. I've been in sleep deprivation mode, too. It definitely affects my workouts (no energy).

Did Winsor Pilates Maximum Burn this morning. Hope to do something tonight.

Get out and enjoy this BEAUTIFUL spring day! :)

Sue

RE: Roadtrip!

Hi gals,

Today I did 4DS bi/tri/abs and would like to get a spin, run or some type of cardio in tonight. Last night I did get in 6.5 miles, it was very windy.

Susan, I hope you feel better quickly. What time do you get up in the morning to only get 6 or so hours of sleep. With all you do, you are probably right to get more sleep. Get well.

Sue, congrats on DD getting such a great grade on her test. It sounds like you kids are doing great. Did you do anything fun at Dojo?

Laurie, I am just amazed you made it through 3 P90X's. I love Cathe and don't mind taking out any of the stuff. She motivates me like noone else. It seems you are getting your scheduled runs in this week. Has it been quiet with DH gone? How did DD do in her track meet? My DD15 has a meet tomorrow.

My DH grounded my sons for a really messy bedroom and a room next to theirs where they throw all their things. Now it's like a punishment for me because he grounded them from going outside. Hope they are quick learners or they will be in all summer.

The workers are still not done, now they will be in the kichen and bathroom putting in fans all day. I guess I'll have to leave if we need to use the facilities or eat. Hopefully one more day. I am going crazy.

Have an enjoyable day.

RE: Roadtrip!

Morning BB's,

Workout today was 2.5m run and PY4H Quickie. The yoga felt good, my legs where a bit tired this morning.

Karen, DD has her meet tonight, and from what she said she is only in one event. 4x400 relay is what she is running. Hope she gets her homework finished during all the time she is waiting around. It has been really crazy in our house, just glad that we don't have dance class anymore this week. I still have to help DD11 study for her social studies test for tomorrow. She is having some problems remembering that Philly is where the Constitutional Convention was held. Or maybe it is just trying to remember the dang name. :D Good luck to your DD in her track meet, what are the events she is in? Dang on the workers taking so long to finish.

Susan, Sorry to hear that your energy level is so low. Did you get into the doc? I think I remember you saying that you need to get your thyroid checked again.

Sue, Maybe we all should get out and enjoy the day. Isn't being ouside suppose to help you get to sleep? ;-) All that fresh air and sunshine. Maybe we all need the Vitamin D from the sun! :7

Have a great day!

Laurie

RE: Roadtrip!

Karen - At Dojo last night we worked on our 8 count and 5 count attack with padded swords (easy), Hapkido defense with padded swords, sparred with padded swords, worked on our form, did our form with sticks (that was "different"), worked on our sparring combo with the heavy bags and did more Hapkido (bear hug defense). A good variety of stuff but more technique than intense workout last night.

Laurie - I'll try to get out tonight and enjoy the day. :) It looks really windy though. As long as it's not a cold wind. . .

Sue

RE: Roadtrip!

Hello!:D

Today is supposed to be the elliptical. I just saw on the calendar that there is an Art show at the school for the children today. Hoping I can squeeze in my workout right after school before life gets in the way! The kids are excited to show us their art projects.

I kept thinking yesterday was Thursday and today was supposed to be Friday. What a bummer when I realized I was wrong! LOL

You all have a great day! Enjoy the sun while it's here! We're to get rain later today and all day tomorrow!

RE: Roadtrip!

Good Morning BB's,

Today I hope to get in some kind of cardio when the workers leave and before soccer. Yesterday I did get a 3 mile run in.

Susan, hope you can fit your workout in tonight. Enjoy the projects. It's so neat when our kids have things they are so proud of. I have been messed up this week also. Whats up?

Sue, sounds like the last few weeks of Dojo have been more on fitting in all the skill practice rather than the normal kick butt workouts. Are you following any rotation right now?

Laurie, what kind of shoes do you use for running? Good job getting in the miles. DD runs the 4X200, 50 yard dash and the 100 in this meet. Sometimes just one or two of them. This is actually just a JV meet so she will compete in more than if it was Varsity/JV. She really likes the relays.

Have a great day.

RE: Roadtrip!

Susan - I hope you get the chance to see your art show at school. I remember having art shows when I was a kid and how proud I was for my mom (dad was always too busy working) to see my classroom and art projects. Neither our elementary school nor our middle school does art shows. :-( I do like to look around at conference time though. There's usually plenty of projects displayed in the hallways. I wish today was Friday, too! I'm covering for 2 other people at work this week and man it's hectic at times.

Karen - Is today the workers last day? I'll bet you'll be glad to have your house back again. Maybe we should try grounding DS. We help him pickup his room and organize it one day and the next day it's back to being a disaster. Yep, you're exactly right about Dojo - these last few weeks are about getting ready to show off at graduation all the new skills we learned. It's nice when we have a workout that's a little bit of both - learning new skills and kicking butt. No, I'm not following a rotation right now. I'll do PS a couple more weeks and then I'm thinking of doing Barry's Bootcamp again. Should probably try a P90X rotation again, too.

Laurie - Is DD11 ready for her Social Studies test? Did you learn anything helping her study? Or re-learn something you forgot?! I think I would flunk my kids' tests if I had to take them without studying. Just can't remember all that stuff I learned eons ago.

Last night I did Janis Saffel's Kickbox Strike Zone using my heavy bag to punch and kick during the focus paddle section. What a difference it makes having something to actually hit/kick! This morning was HSTA Upper premix 21 min. Quickie workout but hoping to get the lower body premix (13 min.) and a quick cardio in tonight.

Sue

RE: Roadtrip!

Good Morning,

Last night I got in a 4 mile run, I wanted to do some other cardio but the boys had a friend in the house. Today when the workers leave, hopefully one last time, I will do a total body workout.

Sue, Do you have gloves to use with the bag? Did you get your lower body premix in last night? When does DS start BB?

Susan, it's Friday. Does that make up for thinking yesterday was? Hope your feeling well and you workouts are fitting into your schedule. Do your kids play soccer?

Laurie, hi, and have a great weekend.

I will try to get in a 7 mile run on either Sat or Sun and a spin on the bike also. We are in the process of cleaning our basement and so we have lots of stuff to haul to the dump. DS 4th grade project is due on Mon., he is doing a log cabin. We still have a lot of work to do on it.

Have a super day.

RE: Roadtrip!

Karen - I have my punch guards which are part of my sparring gear for Tae Kwan Do. They're nice because they only cover the back of your hand so you get some ventilation. I also have kickbox booties but I kicked barefoot because that's the way we do it in class and it helps me focus on using better form. When you're barefoot and forget to bend your toes back for a roundhouse, it's NOT a nice feeling! No, I didn't get the lower body premix in last night. DD needed lots of help with her homework. DS starts baseball May 21. Good job on your runs. I keep waiting for the weather to get a little nicer before I venture outside. Happy basement cleaning and log cabin building this weekend!

Hi, Laurie & Susan!

This morning I decided to skip lower body today because my hamstrings are sore from either Strike Zone the other day or deadlifts yesterday. Did the cardio only premix from Cardio and Weights 35 min. Another short workout - will have to make up for it this weekend. Going to meet my family for dinner tonight in Cottage Grove right after work. My sister and BIL head back to Denver tomorrow so my last chance to see them.

Sue

RE: Roadtrip!

Sue, have a great time visiting tonight with your sister and BIL. I really like cardio & weights. I am hoping for warmer weather soon too.

Enjoy your day.
