Morning All,

No workout for me yet, just didn't want to get out of bed. The cold weather really does drain a body as much as the hot weather does. Must be from trying to keep the body temp up. What a great weekend though, had a lot of fun.

How was everyones weekend?

Sue, Did you get a good hug from you mom?:) I also enjoy those hugs. ;)

Susan, After all those activities, did you get to have that date night? ;)

Laurie - I started falling asleep on the coach so DH and I never went out for date night on Saturday. I feel badly. We'll try again this weekend.

Forgot to mention in Friday's checkin that I did Brand New Butt (standing portion only). My rear delts and triceps were really sore the next day. Saturday was running around all day so no workout. On Sunday I did Power Circuit cardio and worked outside with DH taking branches off the honey locust next to our deck. Nothing yet today so far. Like Laurie, I didn't want to get out of my nice, warm bed.

HI Ladies! Saturday I just took Ruby for a 60mn walk. After doing S/H legs on Friday, my legs were just a tad sore. Sunday I was going to do Pilates but I got lazy in the morning and had to catch up on my choirs in the afternoon. I let my DD have her final sleep-over of the Summer last night. Bad Idea!:( They kept me up til almost 1 am so I was not in the mood to get up this morning either! After running a few errands I did do S/H Chest & Back and am going down to so the elliptical in just a few minutes. I did notice that my legs did not get nearly as sore this timeas they did before!

Kids officially start back tomorrow and so do I! Looking forward to it actually!:D

Laurie, I had a wonderful time with my Mom! It's hard to say Good-Bye though! :( 2 of my brothers were also at my sisters so it was good to see everybody! I'll post some pics so you can see them!

Sue, sorry you did not get that date! Apparently, your body needed the rest!

You ladies take care!

Susan

Hi,

Sorry I didn't check in. My parent's surprised me for my birthday and came to visit. They also bought the kids a couple of new school outfits. They brought me a cake and drove 3 1/2 hours for the surprise on Sun. I love them like crazy.

DH is running now so I ran with him his mile a couple days and did STS disk 10 yesterday. Today I will do STS legs disk 12 and our Tue. bike ride.

Susan, what a nice mom letting them have one more sleepover. Enjoy your first day back. I can't believe you still get all your workouts in with no sleep and your schedule. I don't do as well.

Sue, is that the old brand new butt or the old one? It is hard to get out of bed when it's dark and cold. You got some good workouts in though.

Laurie, was this your last weekend for the faire? Glad you had a fun weekend.

Lala, enjoy your first day of school.

Take care.

Morning All,

Today I tried out another workout on Exercise TV because I have been wanting to try out the Jackie Warner workouts. It seems that only the One on One Abs workout is on there right now. So that 20 min went really fast! :D Not a bad workout, but I sure wish that she didn't use her trainers! There was only two of them that seemed to really work!

Sue, Sorry to hear that your date didn't happen, but as you said there is always this weekend. ;) So there are two workouts that are called Brand New Butts? I know that Janis Saffell had one. ;)

Susan, Enjoy your first day of school, I watched my youngest get on the bus this morning. One father was chasing the bus down with his vehicle:eek:. The bus only stops three places in our subdivision, and one of them is right by our house. :) Glad you enjoyed the time with your family. :)

Karen, What a great b'day surprise. :) So now you have the whole family running! :D Cool! This weekend is our last, and I'm so happy that it has gone so well. Or people are just keeping great secrets. :) Next weekend will be my weekend for cleaning the house though. :(

No workout for me last night, because after church the girls and I went to OfficeMax to get oldest some school supplies. Then we went to Target to check out their clothes, and I was happy the oldest only found one top that she liked. The girl is like a clothes hound! I am taking her to Kenosha to Maurice's because she has gift cards to spend, and they just built a huge store on Hwy50. They also have a JC Penny right next door. :)

Karen - What nice parents you have to drive so far to see you on your birthday! Happy belated birthday! :D Hope you had a great day. I did Brand New Butt & More. Laurie, the other one is also by Janis called Brand New Butt & Pilates.

Laurie - I've tried Jackie Warner's workouts on Exercise TV before. The workouts are okay but I really don't care for her personality. She is so fake and egotistical on her tv show (yes, I used to watch it) and that personality comes through in her workouts. Forgot to mention that I heard Carol on WKLH talking about what a great time she had at Ren Faire over the weekend. Great advertisement for you guys.

Hi, Susan! Did you catch up on sleep after that slumber party?

More running around last night taking DS to football practice and buying a swimsuit for DD for gym. Did I mention the best player on DS' football team broke his arm in Saturday's game and is out for the season?:( Coach gave a good pep talk last night about how the team wasn't built around 1 or 2 players and they are a strong team and need to prove it. They lost 26-12 which is hard after last season's 7-0 record. The other team was good but they also played dirty. Some punching and cheap shots going on when the referees weren't looking. That's football I guess.

First day of school at our house, too. Both kids are starting new schools so it's pretty exciting.

Did PUB through triceps this morning. Tonight I plan to finish PUB with biceps and abs. After that I plan to sit on my butt and go to bed early!

Hello! Well, we all got out of the door on time today! That's what I was most worried about! Woke up at 4:45 and walked. I am leaving now to take Ruby for another short walk and will be doing Pilates Accelerated after I pick up the kids.

Work at the High School went well. The Freshman looked so nervous!:) They did well though. I hope my DD found all of her classes at the MS alright. I was thinking about her all day!

Karen, that was so nice of your parents! Hope you had a great Birthday!

Laurie, you have really been lucking out on the weather for the weekends! Looks like this one is going to be just perfect as well!

Sue, hope your kids had a great 1st day! Sorry about DS's football game. They'll get stronger as the season goes on!

Hi Lala!

Take care and have a nice evening! Susan

Hello,

Today I am doing STS disk 11. Last one in Meso 1 then a recovery week. Went 26 miles last night before it got dark.

Susan, good you and the kids had a good day at school. I was taking first day pictures when the bus came and the kids are dashing down our long driveway to catch the bus. The dog put us behind because he kept jumping up on the kids and getting them dirty so I had to stop and clean their clothes. We took another one today. Not first day but good enough.

Sue, too bad about the team DS played last night. After the pep talk it would have been nice if they could have won. How did your kids fare on their first day of school?

Laurie, You did get one of the maxes in--Officemax. Is DD easy to buy clothes for? Glad things are going well this year the the faire.

Have to call guidance at the HS again. They really don't like to get back to people.

Hi lala, hope things are going well. I am sure you are getting good workouts in. Did you see Cathe's Sept. rotation? It looks good. Two leg days. I have been doing that lately also. Great improvements on my legs.

Have a wonderful day.

Good Morning! :D Hope you all had a good night! I got up and walked and later I will be doing S/H Tri's & Bi's. DS has a scrimmage game tonight against the "rival" team so I need to be there for that! Yesterday I ended up taking Ruby for 2 walks and I think I will do that every M-F. I walked her when I got home from work and that was nice! Let's her stretch her legs after being cooped up too!

Yes, the kids had a great 1st day. DD was slow moving this morning but ended up leaving with a smile on her face!;) I must say entering 7th grade has made her more fashion conscience!:D

Karen, what are your plans for your recovery week? Are ya just going to relax? ( yeah right!);)

Laurie, did DD get some cute stuff?

Sue, how did the kids do at their new schools? Hope they had fun!

Well, I better go get ready for work!

Have a great day! The weather is gorgeous!

Susan

Morning All,

My workout was Prevention Kick Start Your Metabolism with Chris Freytag. I really enjoyed the workout, and next time will use weighted gloves. I'm thinking this will be a good workout for the recovery week of STS. ;)

Sue, What kind of coach would even allow playing dirty. That just isn't right. My DD's bf is out of football for the season, he tore a ligament in his foot. :( I really didin't like Jackie on her show either, and I don't know if I would ever own that workout. Maybe if I only have to pay $5 for it, then I would consider it. :D

Susan, I'm hoping that the weather sticks around for our last Huzzah! ;) I came home from work and DD12 was snoozing on the couch. She still has to get used to getting up so early. This morning both girls where out the door, and my oldest acutally helped her sister with her hair. Wonder how long these good feelings will last! I do the same for our dog with walking. When I get home from work she is standing by the door waiting for our walk.

Karen, WTG on getting in those miles on the bike. I can just see that first day of getting on the bus. Bet the poor dog didn't know what to do when all those kids left! :) LOL about the maxes. :p Shopping with DD16 is pretty easy, I just follow behind her and let her know what I think is appropriate. :) This morning she looked like she popped out of a fashion mag. But the girl sure can find a bargin! Last night she got a pair of shoes for free. She also got a really cute dress for Homecoming for $50. With that $50 she got a necklace and sunglasses. The free shoes went with the dress. I'm still impressed or the stores are getting desperate! :D

Lala, Hope school is going well for you. :)

Karen - I must have confused you with the way I worded my post. DS only plays games on Saturdays so the pep talk was before their practice on Monday. Their next game isn't until the 12th so they have a lot of time to think about it. Did you get a picture of the kids running toward the bus on the 1st day? I think that would be funny next to the picture taken on the 2nd day. :D

Laurie - DD said she napped when she got home yesterday, too. I think it's a combination of getting up earlier and not being able to sleep the night before with all the anticipation of the first day of school. We had other complaints about this team DS played on Saturday. Besides playing dirty they didn't have a trainer onsite like the home team is supposed to in case of injuries. And wouldn't you know it, we had a kid break his arm! Fortunately, we had parents with EMT experience who helped out.

Susan - The kids did great at their new schools. DD raved about getting to eat lunch outside and likes her teachers except for one (there's always one isn't there?). DS got to eat lunch with his best friend who was supposed to move away but didn't and was glad his lock on his locker didn't get "frenched" like 2 other kids he saw.

I didn't finish PUB until this morning (bis and abs). Also did 2 miles with Leslie Sansone. Back to fighting for bathroom time with the kids in the morning.

Good Morning,

Last night went for a 2 mile run with DH and DS while all the rest were at church except DS15 at home trying to get his Algebra done. Today I am going for a 6-7 mile run when it warms up a bit. Have a soccer game tonight and a friend of DD6 coming over to play. The younger boys are doing well in cross country. DD11 is a very fast runner.

Sue, sorry I misunderstood. Hope they whip the next team. They need a morality boost. Nice job finishing up your workout. Use the me first to get into the bathroom.

Laurie, glad you are enjoying different workouts. Is the Chris one intermediate? Your DD found some great deals. You must have trained her right.

Susan, how did the game turn out? Rivalries in teams are always fun. I'll bet the dog will love an extra walk. Our dog does not like walks. He lays down a lot. Are you still liking S/H?

Have a great day.

Hey Gang!:D Another beautiful day here! We sure are getting spoiled this week! Today is Pilates Max and Pilates Buns & Thighs. Plus my walks!;)

The boys won their scrimmage. They were happy. Our team is pretty small but quick, where the other team is very big but slower. It was fun to watch!

Karen, enjoy your run! Glad DD is enjoying CC!

Sue, That's why I am glad I go to work an hour after the kids are gone! No bathroom fighting!:D

Laurie, Well, the kids still love school! Of course DS came home with like 5 minutes of homework and was grumpy! That's just 5 mn too many! LOL!:p

Have an awesome day! Susan

Morning All,

This morning my workout was Ilaria's Bodystrikes. This workout is geared toward the lower body and abs. Liked it alot, and will use this for recovery week also. :D I think most of my recovery week will be kickboxing. :) I also did more 1RM's.

Sue, My DD12 also has a teacher she doesn't care for. DD16 says that the one crabby teacher she has is pg. Last year she had a teacher that was pg, and crabby too.

Karen, Yes the Prevention workout is Intermediate, so that is why I figured it would be good for recovery. I'm planning on doing kickboxing, yoga and StretchX during that week. ;) Is DD11 small and thin? That is the way my DD16 is, and she runs fast too. Leaves me in the dust all the time. :D

Susan, Oh that is just way to much time to spend on homework. :D I think that is about what DD12 had to spend on her math after school.

Have a great day!

Hi again, what brand of running shoes do you all have?

Laurie, sounds like you are all ready for STS. I meant my DS11 not DD. Yes, he is very thin and runs with such ease.

Susan, glad your team won their scrimmage. Enjoy your pilates and the beautiful day.

Finished my 7 mile run in some Nike shoes my Brother got me for my birthday and they hurt the balls of my feet. It feels like I was running barefoot. Hope he can return them. He got them from Fleet Feet Sports in Brookfield.

Have a great day.

Susan - Good for DS' team winning the scrimmage! My DS' team needs more quickness. They have size but not speed.

Laurie - Can you tell me more about Bodystrikes? I have another Ilaria workout and I like her but it's advanced and very tough. An intermediate workout from her sounds interesting.

Karen - Sorry to hear about your new shoes bothering you. I'm not a fan of Nike shoes. New Balance always work well for me and I just get cross-trainers instead of running shoes. Then again, I don't do much running so maybe Laurie and Lala can chime in.

Hi, Lala! Hope your first week of school is going well and you don't have any troublemakers in class (or is that asking too much?)

Did 10-10-10 cardio last night. Felt great to do a real heart pumping cardio. Nothing yet today. Plan to do as much of PLB as I can tonight.

Karen, Both DD and I have Asics, and I really like mine for running. I think DD had Nike at one time, and they didn't have enough support in the arch for her. I have always had Asics. :)

Sue, This is a very doable workout, and it is all kicking. She does 4 routines total, and first you learn routine 1: Slow plie squat, fast plie squat, forward lunge each leg. Routine 2: Rront leg raise, (and I think she does two squat thrusts in this section too). Then you combine both routines, and she does those combos about 4 times. Routine 3 was knee raise, roundhouse twice and then two side kicks. You learn that routine and then combine routines 1-3 for about 2-3 times through. Routine 4: Double front kick, double side kick, and then you do all the routines about 4 times. I really liked it, and could see how this would help your legs. I'm feeling my inner thighs and butt area right now. :) I may have left some things out in the routines, but I'm going from memory. There was a warm up and cool down, and she did have you do two sets of 8 push-ups in the warm up. :)

Laurie

HI there!

Karen, I have both Asics and a pair of New Balance. I like them pretty equally! Never tried Nike!

I will have to look at Illaria. I have watched her previews on Collage and I know I have a couple of her workouts there on my "wish list" but I don't know which ones!

Time to walk that dog again!:p

Bye! Susan

Laurie - Thanks so much for the details on the workout. All kicking?! My legs feel sore just reading about it! LOL It would do me some good though. Ilaria has such a rock hard body she sure is an inspiration, isn't she?

Good Morning,

I am going to do Plyo Leg from STS today. Maybe run with DH tonight. Have to take DS13 to the foot doctor for some inserts for his running shoes.

Ladies, thanks for all the info on running shoes. Just as I thought Asics or New Balance.

Nice workouts everyone.

Enjoy your day.
