Hello Badgers
I tought I would get this started this am. I had more time then I thought I would so here we go...
I did interval 1-5 of Imax 2 and the abs section from cardio and weights. I need to more cardio on the weekends(I only work at the hospital fri-sun) and my house is old with thin walls and my DH can hear me so I was now thinking of getting a stationary bike so that I can get cardio in on Fri and Sat without waking him up at 4am on his days off. What do you guys think? I also think I need to add more core work to my routine, do you guys like core max or Ab hits better? I hope every Buff Badger has a great day and for those of you (probably most of you) it is friday and the end of your workweek.Yeah.;)

Nice you had a little extra time this morning. I've never tried the stationary bike but could you work out later in the day when your hubby is awake? I don't know how you have any energy getting up that early. I like coremax better than ab hits. I think it works all areas in each workout to fatigue and has better music and variety. I guess I'm not a big fan of abwork in general. If you want short workouts ab hits is about half as short. Hope you had a nice day at work. I am going to do Kick Max today. Just have to get motivated.

Oops, think I started the threat at the same time as you Jedi! Let's use yours...here's what I already posted.

Also, a stationary bike would be quieter. Where is your workout area in your house compared to where you sleep? Can you workout in the basement? I think biking would be great, but make sure you get one that you can adjust the tension on well or has workout programs on it already to make sure you can get an intense workout. Or, maybe you can workout in the pm like the other posters said? If you're like me, I need to get it out of the way in the morning or else it tends to not get done...Don't work too hard this weekend!

Good morning,

We made it to Friday. Don't have to work this weekend which is fabulous. It was a 30 minute run and PP again for me this morning. I will probably run tomorrow and then rest Sunday I think. Had weigh in at WW last night, I lost 1.4# this week which I was very happy with. I think I will keep going unless I start to get stuck. I try to eat as clean as possible on it, making the most of my points and try to eat up my activity points. For those of you doing WW, how many activity points do you assign to your Cathe workouts? I don't think their little points slider works for Cathe.

Hope you all have a great day!

-Thea

Hi Everyone,
Thea - I think there was some discussion re: the activity points for Cathe workouts. I am thinking it was 3 or 4.

Jill - I have never seen any restricition about discussing or mentioning non-Cathe workouts. So I will mention that did a different Kathy this morning - Kathy Kaehler Step. Basic but fast at least it seemed that way at 4:15.

Sue - also hypothyroid here! I will check out the Body for Life. Thanks for the info.

Morning BB's,

Today will be Bootcamp, and volleyball. We are in the championship round, whatever that means. Only six teams in the league, so it won't be much of a championship round. :)

Don't know if I will be able to check-in this weekend. We are cast members for the Bristol Ren Faire, so our weekends are from 5am (when my alarm sounds) to 9pm (when we finally get home). Not complaining, because we have a great time. Just tired when I get home, and not looking at the computer. Maybe I can get on before I get my coffee. Maybe not a good idea. x(

Jedi, I like both Coremax and Ab Hits. I like that you can do alot of plank work with Ab Hits. And I like the variety of Coremax, with the use of the ball. So I guess I wasn't any help.

Have a great day ladies,

Laurie

Good morning Badgers, and yes, Thea, TGIF! (from your other post)

Jedi-I like Core Max better. Partly because it uses the medicine ball as well as the stability ball, and partly because I just don't like doing older workouts (think lace shorts/thong here lol ala Step Works). I'm the same way with Firm; I can't stand the originals anymore because of the "cheesy" music and porn breath lol. I have an elliptical machine that is super quiet-you can't hear it at all really. I know they are more $$ than a bike, but I love it. My knees give me trouble with too much biking, but the elliptical rocks without hurting! That said, my DBF got a great stationary bike at the used sporting goods store on 27th Street. He chose a new one actually, and it was $199 on sale. The lady there is super nice and we've purchased a lot of equipment there. I think it's called Sports & Fitness Outlet, but I'm not positive. It's around 27th & Grange or so, in that Pick N Save plaza.

Karen-I bow down to anyone that can do Kick Max. I had it and traded it-it was just too intense for me. I prefer KPC; it seems a little lower impact somehow, or has shorter cardio sections.

Thea-GREAT job on your loss this week! My WI is today also, and I am the same today as last Friday, after going down 5 lbs the first week. But I'm happy with not gaining. I am still learning this way of eating (this was my second week) and what works and doesn't work for me. I decided I need to start wearing my HR monitor for every workout and using the 100 calories=1 points theory. Otherwise I can't figure out what to use either. I also ate my APs this week, but not all of my flex.

Marie-LOL. Thanks for the okay; I wasn't sure what the policy was. I like the WHFN workouts because they are less intense and some days I just need that. The color and sound on these can't be beat. Heidi Tanner (Firm Cardio) leads a couple, and Keli Roberts leads some, too.

Laurie-have fun at the fair this weekend. What do you do there? Bootcamp and volleyball--what a great exercise day you'll have. Good luck in the the championship.

I have a vacation day today (thus the time for this novel lol). My ds, going to be a sophomore, has his first game in the state baseball tournament. Unfortunately he won't be playing; he strained his rotator cuff at football practice on Tuesday. :( But this is the last year of Little League and he's been playing with these same boys since they were all 5-6 years old! So we've gotten to know them and their parents very well, and wouldn't miss it. The game is at 11:30am in Fort Atkinson. I'm trying to work up the motivation to do my workout before the game. So far the motivation is nowhere in site lol.

Pedmom, We are part of the Queen's Court, My DH plays Lord Derby (pronounced Darby) and I play his wife. My oldest DD plays Lady Ursula Stanley, his daughter but not Lady Derby's. Even though that girl looks an awful lot like me :) . And my youngest DD plays Lady Catherine Brydes.

My oldest has created a puppet show. It will be having its debut tomorrow. We had a great time making all the puppets.

Good luck to your sons team, sounds like it will be a good time.

Laurie

Good morning,
This morning I did Gym Style Legs and Core Max 1. I thought I was going to do GS legs after Boot Camp last night, but I couldn't get into it. It's been a low-energy week. Those slow-motion lunges in GS are so hard! I don't even use weight with them and it's a struggle to finish.
Tonight I have my last softball game of the season, then tomorrow my boyfriend and I are going to Milwaukee to see the Giants vs. Brewers. Should be fun.
Thea, great news on your weigh-in :)
Have a great day,
ellen

Good morning again. I just finished Kickmax. Not one of my favorites either. I only did it because it was on the rotation I am following. Actually, I think kickbox is my least fav aerobic activity. Ellen-you were going to do bootcamp and gym style legs all at one time. Yikes. GS legs is a nice workout. Thea-great you lost some weight. What are you doing every day? Cardio and then some weight workout? Do you like push and pull? I only did it once and haven't tried it since. I actually can't remember it. Pedmom, have fun at the game. When you know people, even if your son isn't playing its fun to root them on. Laurie, have fun in your tournament and way to go for doing boot camp before doing all that volleyball. Jedi, hope you had a great day at work. To the rest of you have a great weekend. We are off to Sheboygan to a family reunion. I guess no workout this weekend.

Jedi - I like CoreMax better. I don't have the Ab Hits DVD but I have all the DVDs that go into it.

Pedmom - KPC is no walk in the park either! Those combinations at the end nearly knock me out - especially the last one.

Thea - Congrats on the weight loss.

Laurie - I love Bristol Renaisance Faire. We've taken the kids twice and they had a great time doing archery and watching "The Mud Show".

I did Lowmax this morning and the weirdest thing happened. After the 2nd blast, I started feeling shaky and felt like I'd pass out if I continued so I took a break, ate a Balance bar and drank some water. I felt better so I continued with the rest of the workout just fine. This has happened before so it concerns me a bit. I did have a banana and some tuna (yeah, I know gross but I needed some protein) half an hour before so I wasn't working out on an empty stomach. Usually I have a Balance bar or cereal with protein powder before working out so maybe my body just needed more sugar. I don't know. I was also very tired this morning which may have something to do with it also. I've been an early morning exerciser for 5 years now but lately it seems to be getting harder and harder to get a decent workout early in the a.m.x( Unfortunately, working out in the evening most days just wouldn't work especially once school starts for my kids (ages 8 & 10).

Have a great weekend everybody!

Sue,
Was the banana pretty ripe? They have a higher sugar content as they ripen and this might have been a reactive hypoglycemic reaction - post sugar crash. I can't d fruit in the morning for this reason. Later in the day you usually don't react quite as much than when first thing in the morning.

Wow, everyone is doing great!

Karen--I do like PP. I used to think maybe it was too easy, but I am just now coming back into weight lifting and it and SS have been perfect. Also, I am trying to use heavier weights than before and I think it's more effective. I usually run M, W, F and Sat w/ PP or SS after on M, W, F. Tues and Thurs is either KPC or step. I have counting my run as 2-3 APs, then PP/SS as 1-2 APs. Maybe I'm over shooting.

Marie--thanks--I will do a search for APs and Cathe workouts!

Have a great weekend!

Well back from the game. They lost. Waahhh. That's it-it was one and done. No more baseball till spring. :(

Ellen-have fun at the game tonight! It should be a nice, roof-open nice for you.

Laurie-forgot to mention your screen name before. I'm hopefully going to the New Hampshire race again this year in Sept. :) I'm not a HUGE fan, but my DBF has to work at it and I got to tag along last year. It was really fun.

Karen-I was really into the kickboxing for awhile, but got sick of it. I tend to get obsessed about things and do them a lot, then burn out and move on. But usually I come back, so I don't sell the workouts. First it was Cathe, then step, then Cardio Coach....now I'm on the bosu thing (thanks to Marie!). Who knows what's next or what I'll go back to!?

Sue-I would think maybe the sugar content too, but I'm not sure. That happened to me once, but it was too-intense cardio on an empty stomach. Usually I have no problem with fasting cardio, so I don't know what was up that day.

Hi, I have the bosu. I used to use it quite a bit but got bored with it. Just love Cathe to much. What videos or dvd do you use with your bosu? Sorry to hear your team lost. There is always next year. That leaves you more time to exercise. How do you get the smilies on here? I keep clicking and get dots. Have a good day Buff Badgers.

Karen, I just typed it : ) I've never tried to click on the ones on the left.

True about more time to exercise--it's amazing how time-consuming have a high schooler in sports almost every week of the year is. He'll get his driver's license in October and I can't WAIT!

RE: the bosu, I have a couple of bosu workouts, but I also use it for a lot of the step workouts I have. I haven't tried any of Cathe's step routines on it yet, or Christi Taylor; I think the choreography might be too tough. But I've used it for the Firm step parts, and also Step it Strong with Keli Roberts works great with it. I watch VF and yayas for bosu workouts all the time, but they rarely come up for trade/sale. I wish!

Marie -
The banana was ripe but not over-ripe. I guess I'm just going to steer away from fruit pre-workout from now on and see what happens. I also see my doctor in a few months for my annual checkup on my thyroid. If I have any more incidents I'll definitely bring it up.
Thanks for the response.
Sue
