BUFF BADGERS 6/30 - 7/4

Hello there Ladies!

I hope you all had good weekends! Saturday I did not get to do Bootcamp. I took Ruby for a 60mn walk and then after getting housework done I had to run errands for 5 hours! My legs wer so tired Saturday night! Sunday my DS had friends over playing and then had soccer and baseball practices. I only managed to get in some lunge work and a 30mn walk. So, today will be Bootcamp! I don't know why I like this one so much. I think it's cause it covers so many bases in one workout!

Well, I better get my rear in gear! Have a great Monday!

Susan

Susan - Sounds like you worked hard this weekend even if you didn't get in the workouts you wanted. Bet you felt good getting all those errands accomplished and off your to-do list. I like Bootcamp, too, but there are about 3 cardio segments I really dread (sumo squats, sequential power kicks and terminators). I'm ready to quit after 30 seconds because they're so tough.

Black Belt testing & graduation was cool but we didn't stay for the whole thing. It was 3 hours long and DD was bored after 2 hours. One woman who's about our age went for her Master rank (4th degree) in Hapkido & Tae Kwan Do. She's really good. Her movements on her Forms are so sharp and precise. Gives me something to work toward. A cool part of their testing was when Master K. put a watermelon on his stomach and had 2 students slice through stopping it before cutting him. They were demonstrating weapon control. Both students were successful and Master K. ended up with watermelon juice on his gee (spelling? the top part of his uniform).

DS had a great time camping. He was at a campground near Mauston. We missed not having him around so it's good to have him back. :) I spoiled him and made brownies.

Didn't get in the workouts I wanted this weekend. Napped for 3 hours Saturday afternoon and 1 hour yesterday. I was sitting at the pc and literally could not keep my eyes open. I've been fatigued from lack of sleep before but not like this. I did manage to do 4 intervals from Imax2 yesterday before church.

This morning I did GS-Legs Timesaver #2 49 min.

Only 2 days of work this week. Looking forward to a 5 day weekend. Nothing special planned - movies, 4th of July parades, maybe a family bike ride.

Back later to see what Karen and Laurie were up to this weekend. ;-)
Sue

Sue, I know you told me before that you are also Hypothyroid. Have you had your levels tested recently? That could be some of the reason for your fatigue. I know I just had mine tested and they were good but she said I was little low on iron which was probably why I was a bit more tired.

Glad you you DS had fun camping. My kids are excited to be going this weekend. So am I!

Hi Karen! Hi Laurie!

Morning BB's,

Another dress rehearsal is now behind us, and onward to opening weekend. :D For some reason I got up this morning feeling bright eyed. :D Could it be that I have new shoes for faire, and they don't make my feet hurt. Or is it because of all the running I have been doing, that have my legs in great shape. Or is it the fact that I only have to work 3 days this week. :7 :7 :7 Wish I was like Sue with only two, but I can live with three. :7 :7

Was really busy on Saturday getting everything ready for Sunday, but I did manage to get Kenpo Cardio Plus in. The cable guy even managed to show up in his aloted time slot, and fixed our cable so we now have Bravo back. :D Sunday I did a 2m run with Cami, and the last 1/4 mile was resistance training. She got a sent of a deer, and she wanted to take off after the dang thing. :7 :7 So that is why I had resistance training.

This morning was Upper Plus and I will do Abs/Core Plus after work. DH and I will not have the girls tonight, they are staying over at a friends house. Our friend is taking them to Chicago tomorrow on the train. They should have a great experience with that.

DD15 went to the mall with her BF. She really really likes this guy. DH and I have meet his mother, and "The Boy" (as I call him) is shy but cute. :D I think he is afraid of me. :7 :7

Susan, Have a great time with Bootcamp. The only thing I dread about that workout is the Terminators. }( That minute seems to last forever. :7 :7 At least you got all those errand done.

Have to get to a meeting BBL,

Laurie

Morning,

Today I did GS Chest/Tri and abs from C&W. Hope to go for a tandem ride tonight. If not, I'll try some other cardio today.

Susan, are you going camping this weekend. Maybe I will do the bootcamp cardio only if we don't go on a ride. You must do that workout once a week.

Sue, glad the graduation went well. You will be up the the top in no time at all. You still got great workouts in even though you were tired. Do you have a problem going to sleep at night when you nap?

Laurie, glad things are going so well in rehersals and you have great shoes. Glad you have Bravo back and it is surprising a repair person can get to an appointment on time. I guess it's good BF is afraid of you. To funny about your resistance training. I need to get a dog.

Enjoy your day all.

I'm back! :) Nice short meeting today, because no one is around. :D

Sue, Wow when you get to that level of Master you will be a force. I will keep you around for protection. :D Glad that your DS had a great time camping. Did he get eaten by the mosquitoes though. They sure where fierce at the faire this weekend. Because we are so covered, they attack your face and hands. Just awful! I hope you can find out why you are so fatigued, that can't be fun at all. Ya for getting some time off of work. Just think, you are almost half way done with your work week. :D

Karen, Guess you snuck in on me while I was typing. :D Did you get a chance to ride the tandem this weekend? LOL about getting a dog. You need a dog that really really wants to chase deer though! :7 :7 We had resistance walking this morning too, because as soon as we walked out the garage door the deer where standing by our driveway!

Have a great day!

Laurie

Laurie, yes, I got the tandem ride in about 38 miles in 2 hours. Not a record breaking ride but it was a beautiful day. Look at it this way you don't need weight work anymore with all the deer and your dog. Have a nice day.

Susan - I just had my tsh levels tested in January so I think they're okay but who knows if they've suddenly gone beserk. I can keep on eye on my iron levels, too. Just started tracking my food intake on fitday.com last week. For last week anyway it said my iron consumption was okay. We'll see how I feel after my long weekend. If I'm still tired then I'll know something is wrong for sure.

Laurie - I love Bravo! All of my favorite shows are on there - Top Chef, Project Runway, etc. It's funny that DD's boyfriend is afraid of you! Has he seen your 30 pounders and that's why?;-) DS said the mosquitos were bad at the campground, too. They went through 3 cans of bug spray! I guess they tried a fogger thing I'm not familar with (non-camper here!) but it rained right afterwards so didn't work.

Karen - I do have a little bit of trouble falling asleep if I nap that long during the day but once I fall asleep I'm okay. Even when I don't nap though lately I seem to have trouble falling asleep. It's just too humid in our bedroom. I know part of the problem is airflow. We have none in our bedroom because our bed is positioned right in front of the vent but we don't have a lot of options when it comes to furniture arrangement. :-(

Sue

Good morning,

Today I will tandem with DH on a group ride he does on Tue. with some very fast guys. His road bike is taken apart so he only has the tandem so along I go for the ride. I am sure I am not up for this. We also went last night for an 1 1/2 hr. long ride.

Laurie, have fun with volleyball tonight.

Sue, almost done with work for the week. Yipee!

Susan, how was Bootcamp? Are you terminated?

Have a good day.

Hello there!

Yes, I survived Bootcamp. I think one of the harder ones on the cardio is the ice breakers. They seem to go on forever!

I woke up way too late today! I had to get my daughter to her summer class too! She was not happy that Mom was running behind! So, I am going to take Ruby for her walk after lunch and then do Pilates Max. Burn and Pilates ABS.

Karen, good luck with your ride tonight! I bet you will be just fine!

Sue, the end is near and then you can relax!

Laurie, hope your team does well tonight!

It's gorgeous outside today! Gotta run the DS to golf!

Bye for now- Susan

Morning BB's,

Today's workout was speedwork for 5m. I did this on the TM, but it sure was a beautiful morning. Thanks for the well wishes on the VB game, should be some great playing weather. :D

Karen, Let us know how that tandem ride goes today. Sounds like it will be a fast one. :D LOL about not needing weight work with the resistance dog training I'm going through! :D Have a good ride today!

Susan, Glad BC was a good one for you. You are right about those ice breakers too. She does those in CK too, and they go on and on. :D I didn't sleep well last night (to many things on the brain), and had a hard time getting up this morning. I am looking forward to Thursday, because I can turn the alarm clock off! :D

Sue, Oh I love Top Chef too! We are watching Shear Genius now. That is a good one too. Just love some of the hair styles that they come up with. Are you going to be going to Summer Fest at all? Do you know I have never been there, and have lived in this area for over 20 years. :7 :7 I'm thinking with the nice week/weekend it will be packed. The park and ride by Layton/Hwy 100 was packed yesterday. :D

Have a great day!

Laurie

Karen - Yipee is right! :7 :7 I'm counting down the hours. You'll do great on your group ride tonight. Now here's a dumb question: Does having 2 people pedaling on a tandem mean you can go twice as fast as a single bike or about the same since you're pulling more bike and an extra person? See, told you it was a dumb question. I want to hear yes because you sure seem to cover a lot more miles than I could riding by myself. :)

Susan - Maybe I'm cheating or something but I find the icebreakers the easiest. Or maybe I enjoy the karate chops so much it distracts me from how hard I'm working. Yeah, probably the latter. ;-) Enjoy your walk with Ruby in this gorgeous weather.

Laurie - Good luck at v-ball tonight! Remember the bug spray. ;-) No, we're not going to Summerfest this year. As I get older it holds less appeal. Guess I'm turning into an old fogey. We enjoy State Fair much more. One of my younger co-workers plans almost half her vacation around Summerfest. She has a boyfriend in a local band so she goes to see him play and knows people so she gets free tickets and parking passes.

Did part of Amy's Kickbox Xtreme last night (up thru interval 3). This morning was GS-CT Timesaver. Planning to do another short cardio tonight. Feeling less fatigued this week although maybe that's just a psychological thing since this is my last day of work this week! :) Sorry, not trying to rub it in - just excited. The kids have eye dr. appts. and DS gets vaccination shots so we'll be running around. Hope to see Kung Fu Panda with the kids.

Sue

Sue, not a dumb question at all. Down hills we can go faster, up hills slower and on the flats maybe faster. I'd never be able to do riding without DH. It must be easier with two because I can't see myslef riding that far on my own. I just keep pedaling until the ride ends and he lets me know our average speed, his heartrate-since I don't seem to have one- and mileage we went.

Hi BB's,

Today I will do GS back/biceps/shoulders and L&G. Last nights tandem ride was 50 miles in 2 hours 10 min. We were booking and pulling and sprinting. I am surprised I made it home.

Susan, does DS like golf? Is it lessons he is taking through a summer progrm?

Laurie, so tell me did you win all 3 games last night? You had a georgeous night for it. Neat you are feeling so much stronger running. Is DD still running?

Sue, glad you are feeling better this week. My DS12 saw Kung Fu Panda on the last day of school. We watch previews and even DH wants to see that one. We will wait until it come out for rental. Hope you enjoy it.

Have a great day.

Hello!!:D

Even though it's really dreary outside here, I am in a happy mood! Don't know why. I have been kind of grumpy lately cause the kids were driving me crazy but the past couple days they have actually been nice to each other and listening to me! That makes me a Happy Mom! Today I am doing the elliptical for 45mn. I think I'll do the Extreme Heart Rate workout. I haven't done this one in a while ( it's too hard!). Plus I'll squeeze in some lower body work. DH said my legs are looking a lot more toned yesterday! Must be working!

Karen, how did the ride go last night? Hope you had fun!

Sue, you are officially on "vacation"! Hope you find time to relax and have fun!

Laurie, did you run this morning? You must have good knees to be able to run so much! Wish I did!

Have a great day ladies- Susan

Karen, we must have been typing at the same time! LOL!

Yes, DS takes golf lessons through our rec program and loves it. His 2 favorite sports are baseball and golf. He's really good for such a young guy!

Sounds like you had a workout last night! 2 hours!! I'd be passsed out! Good job hanging in there!

Morning BB's,

Today's workout was Total Body Plus.

VB last night was really fun, because every game seemed to be so close. We won 2 of 3 again. Our first game was 27-26. The other two games where not as close, but they got exciting. Again we played a team of 20 yr olds, and I think it frustrates them when they can't beat four 40 yr olds. :D

Karen, WOW!!! 50 miles! How do your legs feel this morning. I noticed that you will be attempting L&G. DD is suppose to be running, but she says that she can't get motivated. I will be off work the next two days, so I want to get her out with me. She is suppose to be getting e-mails from the seniors on the team to do some group running, but hasn't received that yet. I told her to give someone a call and find out what is going on. Of course that hasn't happened yet! :(

Susan, Bet that happy mood is because your legs are looking so good. :D ;-) No running for me today, it was not on my rotation. I know for sure that I have a 7m run scheduled for Friday! I'm finding that my knees feel better when I run vs things like vb. My knees where sore this morning. :( I have been trying to convince my DD's that golf would be fun, but they don't think so. :(

Sue, I was surprised last night that the bugs where not to bad. That makes me wonder if the facility does some spraying before hand. Glad you are feeling less fatiqued. Have a great time watching Kung Fu Panda. I enjoy State Fair too, and we always receive free tickets from work. I like watching the horse judging. :D And of course I always have to have those fried cheese curds. Got my DD's hooked on them last year. :D :D

Today is my last day of work for the week, and of course it probably will not go fast enough. :7

Have a great day,

Laurie

Karen – I’m also doing GS-BSB today and a 30 min. cardio of some sort. Kind of in a Turbo Jam mood today so that might be it. 50 miles! No wonder you’re seeing leg definition! I was just looking at my mushy thighs last night and thought to myself “It’s time to get out the bike”.

Susan – Yes, I’m “officially” on vacation even though I read and responded to 2 emails this morning. So I’ll bet your DS is a good hitter if he enjoys baseball and golf. I’ve always heard that good hitters are usually good golfers and vice versa. Don’t know if it’s true. You’ll have to watch your DS and see if he excels in both sports. I wish I had your attitude about the weather. Was hoping for a gorgeous day like yesterday but at least this way I’ll some indoor things done. Good luck with Extreme Heart Rate (the name alone scares me!)

Laurie – Only a few more hours until you’re officially on vacation, too. I love reading about you beating 20 year olds at VB. :7 :7 Keep up the good work! I’ve never had fried cheese curds and it sounds like I better not try them lest I get hooked on them like your DDs!

Took DS to the doctor for Tdap and Varicella vaccines. Also had to get the doctor to sign a form for football with information from his last physical. He took the shots like a pro but his arm hurts a little bit. Afterwards we went to see Wall-E. Kids decided they wanted to see that one before Kung Fu Panda so that’s what we saw. It was cute and funny but something tells me I’ll like KFP better.

Okay, enough stalling. .. Time to go downstairs and get my workout in before DD’s eye doc appt.

TTFN,
Sue
