Buff Badgers 6-25-07 thru 6-29-07

I have heel spurs and all I know from my Dr. is that this is very common among people with Hypothyroid. Our entire body tends to slow down and be less efficient. Sicknesses hang around longer, things take longer to heal ect... My Dr. said she does not deal with "numbers" but goes by how I feel. As long as I am not becomming Hyperthyroid she will keep goin'!

Marie keep us posted on your elliptical decision!

Susan

Hi again! Well yesterday I was going to do M.E but changed my mind and did Bootcamp. Now today I am paying for it! Ouch! It's been a while since I pulled out that workout! This morning I walked and then jumped on the elliptical for 35 mns on "cardio burn". My legs are sore! I'll get over it! ;-)

My weekend looks pretty quiet! Yea! For the past month or more it seems we've been gone every weekend! It's been driving me nuts! Then when my DH asked where we were going this weekend I said "No where". Well, now he thinks we need to do something! Noooooo! Let's stay home and relax!! I hope I can talk him into just laying low for at least one day!

Enjoy your Fridays! Susan

Morning BB's,

Today I am doing muscle max and KPC kicking/punching premix. Tomorrow and Sun. I will take off due to my parents coming up and going to the Eau Claire Mt. Bike Race.

Sue, great job on the 3 miles. Glad to hear DS baseball team is improving and they are feeling better about themselves.

Laurie, hope you had fun with Yoga yesterday. I promised Emily I would take her to the Madison Zoo this year when we go visit her grandparents. She has never been to a zoo before.

Susan, glad you get a weekend where you are not gone or super busy. Does the jumping in Bootcamp bother your heel or is it mostly stepping that bothers it. Great job on the elliptical.

Marie, happy elliptical shopping.

Enjoy your weekend all.

Morning BB',s

Today is Legs & Back / ARX / 4 Mile run. Saturday will be All Star Workout Kick Box Cardio with Tommy Deters. Sunday will be StretchX in the morning before we leave for dress rehearsal at 7am. I was thinking of doing StretchX to relax in the mornings before faire starts. Might be a good thing to do, but it means I have to get up at 5am. Which I do every morning during the week anyway.

Tonight is a night out with friends. We will be going to Mitchell's Fish Market. Looked at the menu and have way to many things I like. They have Key Lime Pie Yummm :9

Susan, Was the pain from Bootcamp the good kind or the sore foot kind. I'm hoping it is for the first one. :) I agree when you are busy every weekend, you need to take some down time. After summer is over we become hermits the first weekend we have off. I let the girls watch as many Saturday morning cartoons as they can handle, and DH and I spend the morning sleeping. :)

Sue, Nope I won't be playing softball this year. They decided to play kickball, and I just didn't think that was as much fun. I have noticed them playing when I get there for volleyball. Some of those teams are way to into this kids game. :D Give you DS a ^5 because just getting a score like that is showing that they where having a great time hitting.

Karen, Have a great weekend with your parents, and the bike race. You have to be happy that summer school is over. Now all of you can enjoy the rest of the summer (which seems to be speading by quickly). Oh and yes I did manage to get the last of my plants into the ground. The pots in the front are starting to get bigger, and I need to give them some more plant food to help them along.;-) I just finished planting some flox in the back by our kitchen window. They are a light purple color, instead of the purple you see all over Wisconsin.

Marie, I have only done BM2 once or twice, and then I got on the P90X craze. I don't remember it all that well. Just one of the many workout I will have to pull out of the dust. :)

Have a wonderful weekend everyone,

Laurie

Marie - I mainly use the cardio from BM2. The upper body work seems too short but the upper body 2x premix seems like overkill.

Karen - Great workout on tap for today. Have fun this weekend with your parents and enjoy your rest. Good luck to everyone racing this weekend!

Laurie - Getting up at 5 a.m. on Sunday to stretch?! Tamilee Webb has a stretching tape with 10 min. segments and then you wouldn't have to get up so early. Just a suggestion - take it or leave it, right? Where have we heard that before? ;-)

Susan - I look forward to quiet weekends, too. Maybe you can talk your DH into taking the kids somewhere so you get a quiet time to yourself? ;-)

Did HSTA this morning. Tonight and tomorrow I have to pack and get ready for our trip. We're driving over to the Michigan side of Lake Michigan to camp with friends. I am NOT a camper so already warned DH this may be the 1st and last time I agree to this. Just hope we don't get rain. We bought this cheap 5-man tent at Walmart for $89 that includes 2 sleeping bags, 2 chairs, dishes and an insulated cooler. DH is thrilled at the bargain but I figure something has to be wrong with the tent that it's so cheap (e.g. not rainproof).

Sue

2007 Goal:
365 consecutive days of walking >= 1 mile
179 days so far
186 days left

Sue, I love camping! However, I like to "double check" the tent before using it! Usually set it up in the back yard etc... We camp a lot but we only have a BIG 1 room tent. Sleeps 10 I think. It is a lot of fun. Enjoy it! At least the weather is supposed to be good!

As for being sore today, it is not my feet! Yea! It's my quads and back.... It's a "good" pain!

Stay strong- Susan

Susan - So happy it's a good pain and not a bad one! :) We setup the tent last night on the deck and of course the kids had to sleep in it overnight. I just hope we can fit all our stuff we want to take in the minivan. LOL

Sue

Sue, Have fun on your camping trip. We don't go camping anymore. Just too much work. ;-) My girls like to set up our tent and camp in the back yard in the summer.

Susan, So good to hear that the pain is a good one. :) Can you even imagine that a pain in your legs can be good, no wonder people thing I'm a crazy exerciser.

Just to let you all know, the dog that I told you about is probably going to be our dog in the future. DH and I are going to fill out the application to adopt. I talked to the person who is her foster mom. :) She sounds like a great pooch.

Laurie

Oh, Laurie that's such exciting news! I told DH about that dog and he thought, too, he/she probably wouldn't be around at the end of the summer. Glad to hear you're going through with it. Do you know when he/she comes home with you? (Sorry to use he/she but I can't remember if it's male or female.)

Keep us posted!

Sue

P.S. Let me clarify that DH thought a great dog like that would get adopted and that's why he/she wouldn't be around.

Sue, have fun camping, not my cup of tea either.

Laurie, great news for the dog and for you.

Susan, glad you are in the workout pain and not the for nothing pain.

Went and got groceries for the weekend and now I have to finish cleaning. Only 2 of the kids went to summer school. The other two didn't want to go. DD14 and DS 9 are going to Pardeeville with my mom and dad on Sun. after the race to stay for a week. They get spoiled down there. The other ones don't want to go there either. They just like fighting and arguing here at home. I don't think they do it anywhere else. They would probably miss it.

Take care.
