Logged on early this morning to see if the presale started yet. No luck. . .

Had some good workouts this weekend. On Friday night I decided to do a little Turbo Jam so did CP #2. On Saturday I did the cardio only portion of Cardio & Weights. On Sunday I finally tried Kelly's Step Kickboxing for the 1st time. It'll take some getting used to but I think this will become one of my favorite quickie cardios. This morning I turned on the tv and got sucked into one of those made for tv movies (Edge of Innocence) so decided to do a full body workout on my own with heavy weights so I could watch it.

Lots of sun this weekend watching baseball games. Why do I always forget to put suntan lotion on my neck? Yep, got a little sunburn there. I won't talk about the outcome of the tournament. I'll just say we played 3 really good teams and leave it at that.;-)

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Will check back in later.

Sue

Morning BB's,

Sorry I wasn't able to get on the thread on Friday. I did manage to get some beading done. My workouts where Janis Saffell's Strike Zone on Friday, StretchX on Saturday and a 4.5 mile run on Sunday morning. Today will be Chest, Shoulders, Triceps plus ARX.

Had a great time at the races. No one was blowing the field away, and we managed to see some great racing. :) I found a really cool T-Shirt from the Matt Kenseth trailer. Doesn't even look like a racing one. :)

And while beading and watching TV on Friday I recorded on the DVR an All Star Workout that was kickboxing. Kick Box Cardio with Tommy Deters. It actually looked really good and I want to try it on Saturday. They also have some Yoga with Sara Ivanhoe, Ballet Strength with Jennifer Galardi, Body Sculpt and Cardio Boot Camp with Kendell Hogan that I want to take a look at. In the past they didn't have this variety of instructors, so I'm glad I can preview these. Wonder if they will come out with the DVD versions of these some day.

Sue, I had to smile at the TV thing. I will do that with my treadmill. Start watching a movie, and then the girls want to watch something else so I will head down to the basement and get a run in while watching the rest of a show.

Karen, Hope your weekend was a good one.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Morning BB's,

Great workouts for you two over the weekend. I can hardly wait for the announcement. We ended up riding 47 miles yesterday with 30 min tempo mixed in between. That was what DH training called for. Today I am suppose to rest but I think I will do SH Chest//Tri and abs from B&G.

Sue, I would have a hard time doing a workout without any guidance. Sorry the BB tournament didn't go well. Hopefully he gets on a better team next year.

Laurie, glad you are getting your beading done. Did you have a relaxing day off? I sure wish I knew how to record off of our tv. With all the running you do are your times getting faster of do you just run the miles?

Enjoy your day ladies.

Hello Again,

Karen, I have been trying to increase my time. I am shooting for about a 9 min mile. I'm currently at 9-1/2. Hoping the CC's will help with this. :) I have already placed my order for the new workouts. :D They sound really great.

Laurie

Morning BB's,

Todays workout will be a short one. I have volleball tonight and I also have a hair appointment. The hair gets done right after work and the volleyball game isn't until 8pm. So I'm looking at one of Barry's cardio. Figure that and the volleyball will be a good PlyoX sub. :)

Sue, Forgot to mention yesterday that I feel for your DS. Does he get a break next week with the holiday coming up? We don't have volleyball to play, hope he gets a break also. :)

Karen, I like our DVR, but my DH doesn't have any other recording device hooked up. So I have to do this workout upstairs. Usually I'm in my basement. I was looking at some things on the Discovery web page yesterday. It seemed alot of people where asking the same question. Would they be putting the All Star Workouts on DVD. They did this with the Gilad ones, so I'm crossing my fingers. Just hope they put them out individually. Some of the workouts I just won't try.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Hi BB's,

Today I am doing SH bi/tri/abs and a 17 mile recovery tandem ride tonight.

Laurie, have fun at volleyball tonight. Are you changing color of your hair or just covering up the "G" word. Have fun with your Barry workout. Those are tough workouts.

Sue hope you are having a great day. Enjoy whatever workout you decide to do.

My three DS all caught their first Northerns a couple of days ago. All in one day. That's weird. They weren't even out that long. We fried up the pan fish they caught a weeke or so ago on Sun for supper. I love fish but it's a pain to coat.

Have a great day.

Karen - Our kids like fishing but they don't get an opportunity to go very often. I wouldn't even know where to start cleaning and gutting a fish. A 17 mile bike ride is a "recovery" ride for you? Wow, just wow.

Laurie - DS has a game tomorrow night and next Thursday so a little break. Good luck at volleyball tonight. Remember - no drinking.;-)

Did Kelly's Step Kickbox cardio again. This one moves so fast and she doesn't give you a lot of warning when changing what you're doing so I'm still getting the hang of it. Good calorie burner though. Added on blasts 1, 2, 4 and 9 from Imax2 (just the blasts) + SJP abs, plank.

Preordered the new Cathes yesterday. I love CTX so I'm hoping I'll love these, too. I'm happy to see SNM is putting 2 workouts on 1 dvd again.

Wow Sue, great workout. I will have to try adding some blasts to it next time. Funny, I am normally tired enough after doing that workout and it's not that long. I preordered too. I can hardly wait. I don't know how to clean fish either. My DH does that. I just cook them up.

Hi BBs,
Just stopping in to say Hi to all! Looks like everyone is getting in great workouts.

I am walking more than doing cardio workouts these days and looking at getting an elliptical. I love the sound of the new Cathe's for the strength workouts. I pre-ordered early Monday!

Hope all are having a great summer! It is going fast. Hard to believe it is almost 4th of July!!

Morning BB's,

Today is Back & Biceps / B&G Stability Ball Abs / 3 Mile Run

We only won 1 of the 3 games we played last night in volleyball. But it was fun. The wind picked up a little when we where playing so it wasn't so beastly hot either. I sat around watching my brother play another game after that, because it was so nice without the humidity.

I get to leave early today, because the boss said I could. Nice of him. I will get my workout in earlier, and then sit my butt down and do some more bead work on DD's forepart. Can't believe we only have 1-1/2 weeks until we open for the season.

I'm checking out things to do while we are on vacation also. We will not be going anywhere, but we thought we would do things like the Dells for the day, go to Chicago to the Museum, maybe a hike at Devil's Lake. Any other things that might be a quick trip that you guys can think of? I'm open to suggestions.

Marie, Hi back at you, and I really do miss you chatting with us. :) Have you seen Sue's walking progress. She will have gone from one end of Wisconsin to the other by the time she is done.

Sue, You had a great workout yesterday. I like CTX also, and these new ones will have premixes so that makes them even better. At least I think so.

Karen, I stayed with the same color of red. It is a wonderful shade, that they blend with it my natural brown. My hair is getting the G word really bad, and some day I will forgo the color and just let it go natural. All my sisters take after my Mom's side of the family, so they always say "I don't color my hair". On my Dad side my Aunts started coloring their hair in their late 30's just like I had too. Well my youngest sister hasn't hit her late 30's yet, we will see how her hair faires, since she isn't a blond like my sisters. :D

Have a great day!

Laurie

Laurie - I ahve no idea what my natural color is anymore. Maybe we could do a get together some evening this summer?

Sue - what is this walking that Laurie mentioned?

Anyone hear from Pedmom?

Do any of you have an elliptical? I am looking at them and thinking of a Precor. I posted the question but so far all have more expensive ones than I am looking at.

Morning BB's,

Today I did CC#6 Sean and SH shoulders.

Laurie, sorry you lost last night but I am glad you enjoyed the weather. Hope you get lots of beading done after your workout. Time is going by quickly. Before you know it you will be a shows every weekend. Nice workouts. Sorry no ideas of places to go on vacation. We don't go on vacations. When are you taking yours?

Sue, Do you like Kelly's step boxing tape even though it is fast? You are really picking up your workouts lately. Way to go.

Marie, sorry no help on ellipticals, I don't have one. I think Susan got one a while ago.

Have a nice day.

Marie - Susan bought an elliptical this year and is having lots of fun trying all the programs that came with it. Can't remember how many came with it but remember it was a lot. I don't know the brand either. She hasn't posted in awhile and I don't have her contact info. Hopefully she'll see this and answer your questions on ellipticals. What Laurie is talking about with my walking is this silly goal I have of walking the big block around our house which is exactly 1 mile every day this year. I started January 1 and haven't missed a day so far. (See below.) On the day they shutdown the schools because of cold I walked TWO miles! Guess I was trying to prove a point. I'll be on vacation next week and in August so will lose my consecutive streak but I'll still try to walk wherever I am and do extra when I get back so I can say I walked across the state of Wisconsin like Laurie says. You're funny, Laurie.;-) A get-together would be fun. Haven't heard from Jill (Pedmom) in awhile. Wonder if she ever sold her house and moved into a condo like she wanted to do.

Karen - How did your bike ride go last night? Do you bike on trails or roads? How did DD enjoy her trip to Mall of America? I'd like Step Kickboxing more if the pace was a tad slower. Once I get to know what's coming next it'll be easier, too. Makes me hesitant to try her step workouts though.

Laurie - Glad the weather cooled down for your volleyball game last night. One of the moms thought we should cancel DS' baseball practice last night because of the heat but I'm glad they didn't. They really, really need it (as you guys know). It's coming down to crunch time on the beading, huh? I know you'll finish in time and it'll look spectacular.:) For day trips we like to go to the Dells (of course), Six Flags (kids get free passes) , Madison (the zoo is free and not so crazy downtown with many of the students gone for the summer). Chicago is fun, too. We went to Shedd Aquarium last summer. Here's a tip - if you go to Shedd, buy your tickets in advance online and you won't have to wait in line for 2 hours like we did just to buy tickets. The Elroy-Sparta bike trail is fun, too. Would love to take the kids back on that. There are so many festivals, art fairs, flea markets, etc. this time of year, too.

Did Musclemax this morning. Was grateful for being paged in the middle of triceps cuz my muscles needd a break. DOMS tomorrow for sure. Hoping to go jogging tomorrow morning. Haven't done that in awhile so I don't think I'll match Laurie's 9 1/2 min. mile.

Sue - your walking is amazing! You are already in good shape so have you noticed anything from doing this?

I will have to see if I have Jill's email and see what she is up to and if she would be interested in a get together. Otherwise we will plan without her.

Hi Ladies! I am finally back after having the computer up and down and up and back down... What a pain they can be! Anyway, I thought of you guys often and hoped you were all staying healthy!

I am still doing my elliptical and also started doing Cathe's impact again. My heel still bothers me. My Dr. said it's probably due to the Hypothyroid. Also years of high impact are taking it toll. She suggests only doing impact cardio a couple days a week. Otherwise stick to my walking and elliptical. Grrrrr...

I am also still working with my doc to get on the right dosage of meds for my Hypothyroid. It can be so frustrating to be so tired and irritable! She recently increased my meds again and she is hopefull this one should do the trick! Let's hope she's right!

I look forward to getting back in touch with all of you. I hope you are enjoying your summer!

Take care and stay strong- Susan

Good morning BB's,

Today I am doing CC#6 Candance, yoga and abs.

Susan, glad you are back. I hope the Dr. can get your medicine figured out. It must be so hard with all the ups and downs. I am glad you are still able to use your elliptical. I hope your heel gets better by not as much high impact. How long ago did you start high impact exercise?

Sue, MM is an awesome workout isn't it? When DH and I ride we ride on the roads. DD had a great time at Mall of America. She bought a t-shirt and some capris. Kelly only has one step tape I think and I don't use it very often. The other two are total body which are good.

Laurie, Did you get all your plants in? I haven't heard how pretty they look. Hope your beading is coming along well. Enjoy your last week of heavy weights.

Marie, hi, hope you have a great day and a good workout.

The boys have time trials tonight so I have to drive them to Spooner again so DH can take them. Only 2 more days of summer school left. I won't have to drive them to school every morning.

Have a nice day.

Morning Ladies,

Todays workout will be Bryan Kest Power Yoga Sweat.

Sue, Thanks so much for the vacation information. I haven't been to the Madison Zoo since I was a kid, so that might be a great option. DH thought of go-carts also. :) Maybe I can find a batting cage while they are racing in the go-carts.

Karen, Yes the time is going very quick. I hope this year is a good one for my DH. I don't know if he is enjoying his new roll as director. This may make the faire not fun for him. I know all the e-mails he received on the negative side are really getting to him.

Marie, I would like to do a get together, sound like fun.

Susan, Good to hear you are doing ok. Was a little worried about you. Crossing my fingers that your new dosage will do the trick.

Have a great day!

Laurie

HI there! I started adding a little high impact in about 2 weeks ago or so. The next day my foot is a tad sore.

Today was walking and then Muscle Endurance!

Have a great day! Susan

Marie - I've been doing shorter workouts lately so the walking helps makeup for it. When I was doing my normal 1 hour workouts I definitely noticed the walking helped me lose weight quicker - maybe because I was walking after dinner when I'm normally winding down for the day and it helped rev my metabolism. It also gives me some one-on-one time with DH or DD when they join me. (Happening more frequently since the weather became warmer.) It also keeps me away from the refrigerator at night which is a good thing.:)

Karen - It's nice you won't have to drive your kids to summer school any longer. Are they going to be driving you crazy or are they good at keeping themselves busy? Hope the boys do well at their time trials tonight.

Laurie - Go Karts are FUN! We went to Mt. Olympus in the Dells last year and they have several tracks. I had never driven in one before (yeah, I know - sheltered life) but had a blast. Of course there's nothing wrong with wanting to improve your batting swing.;-) Are you on a softball team this year? After volleyball is over maybe?

Susan - Hi! Good to see you posting again. Did you happen to see Marie's post about ellipticals? She's thinking of buying one and maybe you can offer some advice. Do you know what the reasoning is behind your doc thinking the hypo and ankle pain are related? I'm just curious because I'm hypo and I have to be careful of too much impact with my right ankle and Achilles.

Did a 3 mile jog this morning. I should have added on something else - I had the time - but really wanted to watch Top Chef which I recorded last night so I watched a little bit of that until it was time to get ready. No games tonight so maybe I'll have time to do something. DS and the other boys had a good game last night. They were hitting and fielding much better. DS made some good plays at 1st and right center and batted 2 men in. They lost 24-18 but the game was within 2 points a couple of times and I think they could have won it. It's progress. The boys are feeling much better about themselves and their team so that's good.

Hi BBs,
I emailed Susan and got the scoop on the elliptical that she has.

I also emailed Jill Pedmom and will see if she is interested in a get together and what she has been up to.

Susan - is your heel pain from plantar fasciitis? I am also hypo and interested in the connection. I thought the pills would be a magic metabolism cure! Boy - was that a let down!!!! It took a long time to get the right dose and many MDs keep the level higher because it is in the normal range even if you don't feel normal! Thanks for the elliptical info and good to know the MD OKs that for your foot/joint problems considering my pending purchase.

I did the upper body workout from Body Max 2 but without a ball there were things I couldn't do. If it wasn't so early, I might have been able to think of alternatives. Overall, I didn't love it but maybe I am missing something. I will have to look for others that just use weights - no balls or bands!
