:DHi there fellow BB's! Hope you all had a nice weekend! What beautiful weather we had! Saturday I woke and ran 4 miles, walked 3 miles. Then I had a bunch of errands to do the rest of the day! Sunday I got on the elliptical for 30mn (Extremem Heart Rate) then Pilates for 30mn. Today is a rest day for me.

My week ahead is very busy with baseball and soccer both starting and my DD12 has her band and choir concert too. Looks like there is not much down time this week!

Have a great Monday! Susan

Hi,

Today I did last disk for chest and back for STS. Also did the ball segment of coremax and the band seg. of stretchmax. Yesterday I went for a 5 1/2 mile run because I had to get back to get stuff ready for the boys and DH to go mt. bike riding.

tonight is soccer, tomorrow is conferences, more soccer, church, a field trip(chaperoning for DS11 to the science museum in Minn.), more soccer and a trip to my parent's house after another birthday party invite for DS11.

Susan, sounds like you are keeping up with your workouts even though you are busy. That seems to be usual for you. Nice job fitting it all in. I was hoping to get another run in this week but the weather is calling for rain everyday. What time do you run in the morn. and are there lights so you can see pretty well?

Hi lala, Laurie, sue, dani, brenda.

Boy, you sound busy Karen! :p I get up between 4 & 4:15 to run in the morning so I have time to come home and grab Ruby for her walk! That dog is lucky I love her so much!

Susan, is it light enough to run? I don't know how you do it. What time do you go to bed at night?

It's just getting light out and yes, we have street lights too. Unfortunately I don't get enough sleep, don't fall asleep until about 10:30 or so!

Hello Karen & Susan! :) You both do an awesome job of fitting it all in. Great workouts (as usual).

Karen - What's next after STS?

Susan - I wish I had your motivation to get up and run at 4 a.m.! I used to do so well but lately I just don't have drive until later in the day. I'm thinking about doing more evening workouts and giving up on setting my alarm clock so darn early (only to end up constantly keep hitting the snooze button).

We had a birthday party for DS12 on Saturday so my workout that day was cleaning my entire house! We had the boys over for pizza and cake (homemade yellow with chocolate frosting - yum!), took them to Lazer Tag and back home for a sleepover. They fell asleep (or at least got quiet) about midnight. DH made french toast for them the next day.

On Sunday I went for a jog/walk. It was more of a walk with a little jogging thrown in since this is my 1st time outdoors since last Fall. I did 4 miles. Yesterday I did 2 miles with PUB Pyramid Down premix. This morning I did some stretching and went back to bed! See what I mean about my morning workouts?

Tonight DD14 has a jazz band concert. Going to try to do something before or after. Have a great day!

Hello!

Sue, it's nice to see ya here. Sounds like you had a busy weekend! Happy B-day to DS. Glad he had fun!

Well, today I did not hear my alarm go off!:( DS had me up twice with nightmares so by the time the alarm went off, I apparently was not ready to wake up! My DH said he saw me turn it off though! I did manage to walk for 40mn however!

So.... I will fit something in here tonight I just am not sure what. I have to have DS to Baseball practice by 5 and it goes until 6:30... And I don't want to miss Biggest Loser either!:p After school I have to help both kids with homework projects. It might be pilates while watching BL! That's the nice thing about Pilates, it doesn't take up a lot of space and once you know the exercises ya just make up your own routines!

Now tomorrow, I am determined to run in the morning as long as the rain holds off!

Have a great night ladies- Susan

Hi BB's,

Today I did 4DS bootcamp then last plyo leg workout in STS. Had to to it on my cardio day because I will be at a field trip all day tomorrow. Thought 30 min of cardio is better than nothing, and we all know I won't be getting up early enough to fit in a workout.

Sue glad to hear your son had a happy birthday. The cake sounds yummy. Have fun at the concert tonight. It really is hard to get up early to workout, especially cardio. Glad you are getting out and run/walking. It's so nice to get out when the sun is shining. Don't really know what I am going to do after STS. What do you guys think?

Susan, see you always seem to get in your exercise. Hope your DS doesn't have another night of bad dreams. Mom need her sleep to get up at the awful hour.;) Hopefully I get a chance to watch BL but we have HS conferences for three kids one of which is not doing so well. Enjoy your pilates and BL. It's pouring rain here already, maybe your DS baseball will be cancelled. I am hoping soccer tonight will be.

Have a great day all.

Howdy! Well, I beat the rain this morning and got in a 4 mile run. Unfortunately, Ruby did not get her walk though! I am hoping it won't still be raining when I get off work so I can take her then!

DS has a soccer game tonight but I am secretly hoping it gets rained out! I hate sitting there in the rain, even though the kids seem to love playing in it! It did not rain here at all last night so he still had baseball practice and had a lot of fun! I decided to walk to his practice while my DH drove. It was only about 2 miles, then I did some Pilates while watching BL.

Hope you have a great day and I'll check back later!

Susan

Good Morning,

Yesterday after the field trip, picking up the kids from track, getting DD to the chiro and all the kids to church, I came home and ran 3 miles. Wonder why it seemed so hard. Today I will finish up STS and do some kickbox or run again.

Susan, glad you got your run in. Did Ruby get her walk in? How did the soccer game go? Nice you can get some extra walking mileage in on soccer nights.

Take care all.

Hi!

Karen, you amaze me! After a day like that, I would not have been able to run too! You're like an energizer bunny!:D Yes, I did get to walk Ruby when I got home from work. The soccer game was cancelled due to lightning.

My calves and quads were very sore today so I did not run but took a long walk instead then did pilates. DD has her band/choir concert tonight along with an art show. This week has just been one thing after another!

Hope you all have a great day! Susan

Hi, gals! Sounds like we're all getting busier with end of school things and sports starting up. I want the nice weather back. DH and I went for a walk last night but it started to rain lightly before we made it home. Didn't get soaked - just annoyed. :(

Yesterday morning I actually managed to drag my butt out of bed and do a little bit of Low Impact Cardio and the 1st set of leg exercises (side lunge w/overhead press) - about 30 min. total. This morning I slept in again but I *should* be able to workout tonight. We had band concerts the last 2 nights but nothing planned tonight.

Looking forward to the weekend -especially since it's MOTHER'S DAY :D and I get to see my own Mommy on Sunday. Also, I'm hoping to be spoiled a little this weekend. (Hey, I can dream can't I? ;))

Susan, glad you got to walk Ruby. You sound very busy also. Hope the pilates stretched out your legs nicely so you can get back to running.

Sue, hope you get spoiled this weekend. Glad you get to see your mom. Have a fun workout tonight. sorry your walk got rained on. I'd like some nice sunny warm weather for a few days in a row too.

Ended up doing a 6.5 mile run today and will finish up STS tomorrow and go for a tandem ride with DH if the thunder storms hold off.

Take care.:)

Happy Friday!

Got a 4 mile run in this morning. I will be walking to work and after work will be taking Ruby for her walk. Gorgeous day today! Too bad it won't be this nice over the weekend!

Saturday I think I'll do KPC. We'll see how I feel. My quads were very sore while running today! Sunday, I think I'll just go for a nice walk or somethng. We have no big plans. I'd just like a nice quiet day. Hope to get to the nursery to pick out some new plants and flowers and maybe get them planted...

DD's band and choir concert went very well last night! For being so yound they are very good! It'll be neat to watch them progress over the years ahead!

Karen, way to go on your run yesterday! I dream of the day I go 6.5! :D

Have a great day! Susan

Good Morning,

First of all, Have a Happy Mother's Day to all you wonderful moms.

I finished up STS today. Rest week next week and then some circuits and full body workouts with cardio between. Who knows.

Susan, I'll bet when you have the time, you will be able to do the 6 miles not problem. You have been running enough, I'll bet you could do it already. Wish I was there to run with you. Relax and enjoy your weekend. Hope you get a chance to pick up some beautiful flowers. Glad the concert was good. The kids really do a good job at such a young age. Nice run.

Lala, let me know about results from STS.

Hi to everyone else and have a great weekend. What plans does everyone else have?

Susan - Great job on the 4 miles. I'll bet Ruby was happy to get her walk in, too. :D Have fun with KPC and hope your weekend and Mother's Day is nice and quiet just like you want.

Karen - Happy Mother's Day! Congrats on finishing STS. That's quite an accomplishment.

Was lazy last night and didn't workout even though DH actually went to the YMCA at 8:00 to lift weights! First time he's ever done that. He said he wants to get back into eating the Body for Life way with 6 clean eating days with 1 cheat day. It'll be easier for me to eat better if I don't see him eating chips all the time so I'm all for it.

All you runners must be inspiring me. This morning I woke up early and did a 2 mile jog/walk. I'm gradually increasing my jogging time. Was easier today than on Sunday after being away from it for so long. After that I did abs from LIC and squats and lunges with a 50 pound barbell.

Happy Mother's Day to Lala, Laurie, Dani and all other BBs (in case I forgot someone).

Sue, you are doing really well! As for the clean eating or BFL, I have been following South Beach for 13 days and am down 9 pounds. I never feel hungry or deprived. My friend recently lost 70 pounds on it so I thought I'd give it a try! I have 7 more to go to reach goal.

Karen, congrats on finishing STS. Overall, what is your opinion of it?

I hope you all have a happy, relaxing and wonderful Mother's Day!! You deserve it!:D

Susan:)

Susan - Congratulations! You should be very proud of yourself. Do you mind sharing what a typical day of eating is like for you? I know South Beach has different phases with the 1st phase being very restrictive with carbs and then phase 2 and 3 allowing more carbs, but good quality carbs. It also focuses on good fats, right? Is that it in a nutshell? I like the South Beach Living frozen entrees I've tried from the grocery store so I think I'd like the diet but I don't have a lot of time for cooking.

HI Sue. Well, I am on day 13 but I am still using Phase 1 for maybe a week or so more. I got the book from the library. He came out with a new book last year called "South Beach Supercharged". It's pretty much the same thing but he recommends exercising and added in a few more foods on Phase 1.

Here's a typical day for me:

Breakfast: 4 egg whites w/ mushrooms, peppers, ham and cheese and of course my coffee!

Snack: 1oz of cheese and 1/2 serving of almonds (14)

Lunch: Light Yogurt mixed with 1/2c 1% cottage cheese, raw veggies with FF Ranch.

Snack: 1/2 serving of almonds, some cheese or veggies

Supper: Big fresh salad topped with chicken breast or tuna or salmon or whatever protein I am making that night and FF dressing.

I don't tend to eat anything in the evening, I might have some tea or something. Sometimes some celery topped with peanut butter.

I am just really surprised I have had no cravings for the carbs I used to eat. I don't care for any bread or pretzels, pasta or nothing! It's kind of weird to get bread out for the family and have no desire to have some myself! ;) I am just really happy something has helped me finally knock this weight off!

Hope that helps!

Susan, congrats on the weight loss. That is great. What will power.

Sue, nice job on your walk/run. Glad you are feeling stronger.

Funny, don't really have any thoughts on STS. I guess I've gotten stronger, couldn't finish the amount of reps I was suppose to on a lot of the exercises. Maybe more definition, no weight loss or toning of the lower body. I will probably do it again. Not much help am I. Maybe Lala will be able to give more thoughts to it.

Off for our bike ride. I'll bet we get caught in the rain.:(
