BUFF BADGERS 4/9 - 4/13

Good morning!

I don't know about the rest of you but I had enough chocolate yesterday to last until Mother's Day (I was going to say Halloween but let's not get carried away here ;-) ). Anyway, back to clean eating today - I'll try anyway with 2 loves of fresh baked cinnamon bread in the house. DH and DD had a bread factory going over the weekend to handout to relatives yesterday. Cinnamon bread is an Easter tradition with DH's family and DD became an expert in making it when she was practicing for her demonstration speech.

Took a rest day yesterday instead of doing Kenpo. After going to church I just didn't feel like getting sweaty and re-doing hair and makeup to go to brunch. So today will be Kenpo and maybe a little extra cardio to burn off those extra Easter calories! }(

Hope everyone enjoyed the holiday and time spent with relatives.

Morning BB's,

Today is Chest & Back / ARX / and a 3 Mile Run. I did get Kenpo in on Saturday, but didn't have time to exercise on Sunday. We where gone all day to visit with my family and DH's parents.

Sue, Yup I had way too much candy also. My family must have gotten about 2lbs of candy for the kids. Oh well, knowing my girls the candy will last until the 4th of July. :D I'm a sucker for the peanut butter eggs. :9

Sue, Cinnamon bread sounds wonderful. Could you tell me what your secret recipe is? I would love to try some. I like cinnamon almost as much as I like chocolate. Have fun with Kenpo.

Laurie, I guess Sunday was a good rest day although I had two rest days being at my parents house the whole weekend. I like peanut butter and chocolate together also. Our kids just go a little candy from my parents in baskets and a toy. We have never gone big with the baskets of candy and things. Always tried to focus more on the reason for Easter.

Anyway, I did Cardio Coach #6 Candance today and B&G floor work and abs. Keep up the good work on clean eating and exercise.

Have lots of errands to run today and two meetings for soccer tonight. Of course have to get Emily to gymnastics and pick DD14 up from her FFA meeting too.

Laurie - I don't know how you have the energy to do Doubles! I think about it but after ARX and my daily walk, I just don't have any energy left.

Karen - Sounds like a busy day of playing chaufeur and being soccer mom. I don't know how you keep it all straight. You must be super organized.

The kids and I just did some cleaning around the house so now I'm going to reward them by taking them to Barnes and Noble. DD needs to buy a birthday present and they love to browse. So do I. :)

Hi everybody! I forgot it was Monday and to check in!:D

Easter was nice,of course there's too much candy floating around but I am doing my best to behave!

Today was the Elliptical for 40mn and chest work.

I also saw my Dr. today. She said my foot problem is tendonitis and to stay away from bouncing for a couple weeks. She is also going to re-test my thyroid and put me on medication by the end of the week so hopefully that will get under control also.

Susan - That sounds like pretty good news for your foot, right? A couple of weeks will be over like that. Meanwhile you can have fun with your elliptical.:) Good luck with your thyroid. I'm due for a checkup on mine, too (actually overdue).

Hi Ladies!

Today I did a workout on the Elliptical called "Heart Rate Hill". It was a doozy! Saturday I did "Extreme Heart Rate" and these 2 are both on my killer list!

I also worked back!

Today is suppose to be PlyoX, but I may change my mind when I get home. :D

Sue, I haven't been having a problem with the additional cardio this round. I know what you mean about the energy level though. I know I couldn't have done the extra on my last round. Yesterday was a little different, but then TTOM arrived and my energy level went down the drain. So I didn't get my run in. :D Always another day.

Susan, Sounds like you are having the best time with that new elliptical. Glad you now have info on your foot, should be better in know time. :)

Karen, Ya my family always goes overboard with the candy. There are just too many of us. Everyone brings two bags of what they like, so it can be a bit much. My mother is the culprit also. Naughty woman. :D I don't know how, but she manages to spoil 17 grandchildren. My grandmother only managed to spoil 2 of the 22 she had. And no one in our family was included in the 2. :D

Good Morning BB's,

I did PUB and PLB standing and Stretchmax. My PUB kept freezing up at the triceps, no matter what I did I couldn't get it to play so I had to try to remember the exercises for Biceps and triceps exercise. What a bummer. I really liked that workout. I have lots of problems with B&G too.

Susan, keep working hard on your elliptical and have fun.

Laurie, stay away from the candy. It's nice your mom can spoil everyone, not just some. Then noone feels bad. Have fun with Kenpo.

Sue, I think Laurie is wondergirl, I couldn't do cardio with the X workouts either. Have fun.

Laurie - You made me feel better about the cardio. Thought I was just a wimp. We don't have as much Easter candy as in years past but more than I'd like and of course it's all chocolate. :9

Karen - YOU are a wondergirl! PUB and then PLB standing - awesome workout!

Did P90X Chest, Shoulders and Triceps this morning. Man, that is one hard workout! Still have to do my ARX and walk tonight. Today has been go, go, go. DD had ortho appt. and I had a dentist appt. to get my permanent crown and then we had a decorator over for 2 1/2 hours. I thought DH was taking off work so we could both talk to her but he didn't so it was up to me to make sure I asked all the right questions and took notes. We're re-doing the downstairs including my workout room (also the rec room) and the kids' rooms. We have LOTS of work to do but it'll be cool when it's done.

Sue, I'll bet the downstairs will be great when it's done. And your workout room just happens to be down there too. Hum. Just kidding. Nice workouts and enjoy your walk. It hasn't started snowing here hopefully you aren't expecting any snow down your way. I need spring.

Hi ladies! I am praying that this snow storm we are to get is going to turn out to be nothing! I can't imagine having a snow day in the middle of April!

This morning I over-slept so after work I hope to do my Elliptical and arm work.

Morning BB's,

Today will be Shoulders & Arms / B&G Stability Ball Abs / and a 2 mile run or I was thinking of TJ Lower Body Jam. Yesterday after PlyoX I added in Kathy Smith LWTLW Lower Body workout (20 Min total). I didn't use weights, just body weight. This made the legs nice and toasty. I'm dusting off some old workouts. Didn't remember how much Kathy whooped in this one. Oh well, I'm not going to revisit it that often to make it annoying. :D I'm taking tomorrow and Friday off for vacation. My DD's have off of school and my parents are coming to visit.

Susan, I'm with you on the snow. I was listening to the radio this morning and the DJ's joked and called it "White Death". The weather people on TV overhipe so much, that it has become a joke. I forgot to set my alarm clock last night, but woke up in plenty of time to get to work.

Sue, So exciting to get you space redone. I have a feeling that our downstairs area will never be nice, and I will have to look at concrete forever. x(

Karen, So sorry to hear about your DVD's freezing. I had a freeze problem with a premix on KPC, and have not done that workout since then. Can you contact SNM and get it replaced?

Susan - They're predicting 4-8" of snow for us starting about noon.x( It's coming down now and very windy so I don't know if that means it'll get even worse this afternoon or what.

Karen - Redoing my workout space is not what you think. It'll be more about hiding my stuff (dumbbells, stability ball, barbell, etc.) than making it a nice workout area. The goal is that when company visits we can remove the puzzle mat and have a nice area for entertaining or a place for kids to relax with their friends. I haven't had any trouble with dvds freezing (knock on wood) but I would definitely contact SNM.

Laurie - I'm wishing now I had taken off tomorrow and Friday. I go back to work tomorrow and now (because of the weather) it looks like my boss will be around since she and a few others were going to drive to Minneapolis for a vendor visit. Can't imagine them voluntarily driving through a snowstorm when they can reschedule it.

Have to take DD back to the ortho because she's complaining about wires scratching her inside cheeks. We put gauze in he mouth last night. Hope they can fit her in today. Poor thing has an eye doctor appt. today, too. NOT the way she wanted to spend her birthday I'm sure.

Plyo X for me later today when I can fit it in.

Let's all pray this "White Death" LOL melts soon! :)

Sue, wish DD a happy birthday for me. I am sorry to hear she is having problems with her braces. Hopefully she feels better after the ortho appt. Have fun with Plyo X.

Laurie, dusting off old workouts sounds like a good idea. Enjoy the visit with your parents and your time off.

I did cardio sweatfest today. I didn't like it. When I was done I felt like I wasted a workout. I then put in Kickmax blasts and did abs just so I felt like I did something. Let me know what you guys think of it. I loved absolute kickbox by Kimberly Spreen when I did that a week or so ago.

Enjoy the "White Death". It should melt by the weekend. Hopefully.
 
Karen - I read another review of cardio sweatfest today in the OD forum and they didn't like it either. :-( Bummer. I'll let you know what I think when I finally do it but I'm only on week 6 of the X so it may be awhile.

Sue skip Kenpo X and do cardio sweatfest. I really want to know what you think. I know you are doing the X to the tee so I don't really expect you to sub but I thought I'd give it a try.

Did you all end up getting lots of snow? We have about 2 inches or so.

I have take DD4 to the dentist for some fillings today.

Sue, did your boss end up going to the conference and leave you to work in peace?

Laurie, are you still working out even with your parents being there?

Susan, I assume you are still enjoying your treadmill. How is your foot doing?

I am doing B&G and BM2 upper body. Can you get sore biceps from a kickbox tape? I can't decide if its from that or PUB 2 days ago.

Today I was doing YogaX when my parents arrived. I finished and now I'm rushing through my check-ins. :)

Karen, Oh boy on the Sweatfest, I was so hoping that one was a good one. I was going to do Strike Zone on Saturday, but maybe I will try this one instead. We received about 3 inches of snow, but it was raining her also, so it was a mess. Had to shovel my car out of my MIL's driveway, and then I got my car stuck in our driveway. The drifting was what caused all the problems.

Sue, Did you get the wires taken care of for DD. That has to hurt. Wish her a belated birthday. Hope your boss is out of town, so you can enjoy your day. :)

Susan, Still enjoying you new toy! :)

Can you believe this, they are ripping the roof off of the house next door. I guess this snow will melt at some point, but it just seems funny.

Karen - Don't tempt me! LOL Actually I thought about adding in an extra day into my rotation 1 week to do just that since I'm "off" my Sunday start date anyway. Yes, my boss is here today and tomorrow (rats!) but she's busy getting ready for a presentation next week so she's left me alone - so far. I've had sore biceps from kickboxing before but PUB is a likely candidate, too - those endless curls and hammers kill my biceps.

Laurie - Yes, they were able to take care of the wires for DD yesterday. We had to drive about 40 min. in the worst of the storm yesterday for about 2 min. work but it was totally worth it when she came out and smiled for the first time in over a day. :) She thoroughly enjoyed her angel food birthday cake last night, too.

Yesterday was too busy to workout between appointments and snow shoveling so I took an unplanned rest day and did Plyometrics this morning. Probably just as well - it wiped me out this morning. Hmmmmmm. . . you'd think this workout would get easier.
