Morning, BBs! :)

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Laurie! How was your trip? Are you recovered yet?

Friday night's Dojo class was easy in intensity but mastering the Hapkido is hard. We need to know 2 moves for graduation and I'm having trouble with one of them. Guess I'll have to practice flipping my DH at home. ;-)

On Saturday I planned on working out after DS's baseball camp but when we got back I was tired and had a headache so I sat around like a slug the rest of the day, watched disaster movies and ate badly. :-( Yesterday was a good day though. Ate well and did CTX Kickbox cardio, walked 1 mile and did 2 sets of assisted pullups. DD and I visited my mom in the afternoon. This morning was Timesaver #5 (legs/abs).

DS had baseball camp for 2 hours on Saturday and another one for 3 hours on Sunday. He was exhausted yesterday but guess what? More practice today and tomorrow!! Poor kid's going to be bb'd out before the season starts.

Sue

Morning BB's,

This mornings workout was 2m Run and GS Chest. I will be doing GS Tris later today, probably after dance class.

Sue, I had a great time with the ladies from the P90X group. Lot's of laughing, and I consumed some wine. Well maybe a little more than some. We went to a winery that was owned by a Nascar owner. They had some great wines. Wow that is a lot of bb in just two days. And then he has more! Hope he doesn't burn out. ;-)

Karen, Did you get your 12 miles in last week? I didn't manage to have enough energy yesterday, so no 5 mile run for me. I will just start over this week.

Susan, Hope your day is going well, has to be good with all this sun shine.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Hi gals,

Today I did SH shoulders and Legs, abs from 4DS Kickbox.

Sue, you will get the moves. You seem like a fast learner. Anyway, it will be fun to flip DH. Hope all this practice makes your DS better instead of burning him out. Glad you feel a bit better today.

Laurie, glad you had a good time with you P90X girls. I did my 12 miles but my planned 7 mile run on Sat. didn't happen. My chiro seems to think I am over training, especially the running part because my hip, back and knee problems. He told me no more than 3 miles on Sat., I went 4 and felt it. We will see if I can keep up running, it's so hard on the joints. You seem to do well with it.

Susan, hope you enjoyed your weekend. Sat. was an awesome day, weather wise here.

We have more snow. It has been snowing since early this morning, another inch accumulated. DD started behind the wheel today, she was nervous because of the snow. Over the weekend the boys and DH played in a table tennis tournament. It was a lot of fun to watch the boys play for their first time.

Have a great day all.

HI everyone! Sorry I'm late!

The weekend went by too fast!! Friday we had the pinecar derby races at church and let's just say... at least we tried! LOL My DH was amazed how grown men cheat to win. The kids were just in it for the fun so they didn't mind. Saturday we ran errands, did housework. I ran 3 miles Sat. morning. As soon as I got home I grabbed Ruby and went for a 2.5 mile walk! Sunday I had every intention of doing pilates but after church I was busy and then we left to spend the rest of the day at the in-laws. Hmmm...

Today I did the elliptical for 51mn (Sport Training program) for 6.5 miles. I also worked my abs.

Sue, you'll get that flip mastered in not time!

Laurie, glad to hear you had fun with the 90xer's! The winery sounds like a fun idea!

Karen, how often do you have to see the Chiro? How long have you been having problems?

I'll see you ladies tomorrow!

Susan

Hi! I'm back again! I thought I'd better post early today so I don't forget!

Today was a 30mn run/walk with Ruby and later will be Circuit Max.
Ruby is not easy to run with! She has to chase everything(even things that aren't there!). So unfortunately she won't be able to really be my running partner. Maybe she'll get better after a while..

Hope you ladies all have a good day! Looks like the nice weather is gone for a little while. Oh well, at least we had a taste of it!

BYE! Susan :D

Morning,

Today I am planning on CC#7 on the spin bike. We have workers putting insulation in our house so don't know if I'll be able to sneak it in or not. I put the spin bike in my bedroom so hopefully I get a chance to do it. Also have to take DD to the ortho--my nice hour drive each way. I tried to get up at 5 to do my workout but just an early morning exerciser.

Susan, glad you had a good time at the derby. It is truly amazing what lengths adults will go to so they can win. Nice job on the three miles. Hopefully Ruby gets better as a running partner. I go to the chiro latel once or twice a week. I've been going since I was 25 or so. I don't necessarily agree with him that running is the problem but he seems to think my body needs more time to work up the the impact of running. I did have to quit after 4 miles on Sat. due to my hip hurting though.

Sue and Laurie, have a great workout.

Susan - The Dog Whisperer or some other trainer must have a solution for dogs racing after things when you run. Sounds like a common problem to me but then again I've never owned a dog so what do I know? LOL We had dads who went to great lengths to make sure their sons or daughters won, too. They were more excited about winning than the kids were! They kind of miss the point about spending quality time with your child building the car don't they?

Karen - Sorry to hear your hip, back and knee are giving you problems. I know a lot of people are bothered by running. I run so slow it doesn't bother me but high impact does if I do too much. The chiro may be right if you started hurting again after running on Saturday. Maybe experiment and see how you feel if you tailor back? I don't know. Not trying to tell you what to do - just trying to help. :)

Laurie - Did you create a Picturetrail yet? I'd love to see pictures from your Xer weekend.

Had some time last night so did LIS cardio. Toward the end I rolled my ankle and immediately stopped and iced it. I could walk on it so it wasn't bad - just wanted to make sure it didn't get worse. It feels a little tender today so I'll wrap it before Dojo tonight. This morning was Musclemax Upper premix.

Have a good day everyone!

Sue

Morning BB's,

Todays workout has been 3m Run and Coremax #3. Will do GS legs later today.

Sue, Nope I have not created a picture trail yet. I didn't get pictures of all the fun, because my DD's left our camera on. The thing was dead when I picked it up on the morning that I was leaving. I should have bought a disposable at the airport in Chicago, since I was there for almost 2-1/2 hours. :D But some of the other ladies have posted pics. Glad your ankle didn't suffer too badly. Probably will be sore for a couple of days. I used to do that when I played basketball.

Karen, Dang on the problems with the high impact. Maybe you could try changing your running shoes. That has helped me in the past. I have only had knee issues, and after I change my shoes it usually goes away.

Susan, It really does amaze me how adults act in all types of things realated to there children. Only one time did one of my brothers win a derby race, and my Dad didn't help him at all. My brothers helped him, and all the Dad's thought he cheated. WHAT!!! Maybe Ruby just needs a little time, she may be a great runner soon. :D

Have a great day!

Laurie

Hi, back from the ortho, still didn't get my exercising in and realized I am a horrible typist after looking at my last posting. Yikes.

Hi there!:)

Today will be Pilates Power Sculpting. We use resistance bands in this one. I like it! I have one of those pilates rings but have not bought a workout to go with it yet. Sometimes I'll use it in conjunction with this workout.

Was not happy to see the snow fluttering last night but it's already pretty much gone this morning. It was a little slippery in spots walking though!

Karen, did you ever squeeze that workout in? If not, hope you enjoyed some down time!

Sue, how was Dojo?

Hi Laurie!!

See ya later- Susan

Morning all,

Today I got up at 5:30 and did SH back/chest. I am hoping to get in a spin tonight when they leave but it gets really hectic in the evening. Does plank work count as abs? I ended up running 6 miles outside last night instead of spinning. Still used CC#7.

Susan, I would like to get into pilates sometime. What would be some good beginning, but challenging ones? We are suppose to get more snow tonight. Karen Voight has a ring workout doesn't she. She was always one of my favs before Cathe.

Sue, how did you ankle hold up for Dojo. Hopefully it's back to normal. Did you guys see any snow last night?

Laurie, To bad about you camera battery dying on the first day. Good thing lots of other people had cameras. Are you gearing up for Ren days yet? How is DD doing in track? What kind of dance is your other DD in?

The guys for the house should be here anytime. They said they will be spraying bad stuff in the attic and we shouldn't be here. Now I have to find somewhere to go for 3-4 hours besides when I come back they will still be here. They said they will be around for about a week and a half. How will I fit in my workouts. I don't like this senerio.

Have a great day.

Morning BB's,

Todays workout GS BSB / Ab Hits #7 (done) / 2m Run (done)

I was suppose to do a 2.5m run this morning, but I didn't look at my schedule for running. Probably will tack it on to Fridays 3m, what is an extra 1/2 mile anyway. :D :D So this week my total miles will be 10-1/2, and then next week will be 13 miles.

Karen, How did the running 6m feel for you? To bad about having to vacate the house for such a long time. Will they air the house out, sounds like the stuff they are spraying is going to be quite stinky if they request you not to be there. We are still in our workshops for faire, we don't start rehearsals until June. DD15 is doing very well in track, and she was able to shave 40 seconds off her 2 mile on Saturday. The coach gave her the Athlete of the Week t-shirt. DD11 is in three dances, and that is why we have to go to dance class two days in a row. She has one that all the younger girls from all classes do, then she has her group "Song of Spring" and she is doing "Oliver". So she gets to dress up as a beggar. :D Don't worry about the spelling, mine is missing letter at times too.

Sue, How is the ankle feel this morning?

Susan, We didn't get the snow like you did, but I saw that they have it in for Saturday. I sure hope that isn't the case. DD15 has races outdoors now. Hope they don't have to cancel too many. They have a meet tonight, because one was cancelled yesterday.

Does anyone watch TBL? If so which one of those guys would you want in the final three. I personally don't like either one of them, and I hope that a woman wins this round.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Susan - I've always wondered about the Pilates ring and how effective it is. Let me know when you get a workout that uses it how you like it.

Karen - Ankle held up fine last night at Dojo. It was a pretty easy workout focusing on techniques we need to know for graduation 4/26. Didn't even break a sweat. :-( But the good news is I earned my red and blue stripes so now I have all the stripes needed to advance to green belt. Hopefully the workers will leave you enough time to get your workouts in. Good job getting up early and doing S&H! Plank work definitely counts for abs.

Laurie - My ankle feels normal today. I think stopping immediately and icing it did the trick. Good job with your running! You should be very proud of your girls! Sounds like they are both talented athletically and are establishing some good exercise habits. I'm sure it helps that you're such a good role model. :) Yeah, what's an extra 1/2 mile. You could probably do that in your sleep.;-)

No workout to report for today yet. I plan on doing cardio tonight.

Happy Wednesday!

Sue

Morning,

Today I got up early again and did SH bi/tri/abs. Last night I ran 4 miles. I would really like to get in more cardio today as I already had to switch from cardio day to weight because I just can't make myself do cardio that early in the morning.

Laurie, Running the 6 miles went well, could have run more. Last night the 4 miles went well also. I watch TBL every week. I love Alli but I don't like everyone wanting the guys out just so a woman can win. All Jillians complaining about how can woman keep up with the mens weight lose. It goes by percentage Jill. Anyway, for that reason I hope Mark goes so the girls have a bigger threat.

Sue, glad your ankle isn't giving you problems. Congrats on another 2 belts. Did you get your cardio in last night?

I just couldn't stand being in one spot becasue the men took up the whole house so I went to a friends house for a while. When I got back their was potty splattered all over the inside and rim of the toliet. Yuk!! I think I am going to have to tell them there is a toliet brush under the sink and to clean up their own mess.

Hope you all have great workouts.

Susan, hope you have a good workout again today.

Karen - Yep, I got my cardio in last night. :) I definitely agree that it's harder to do cardio in the morning. People who can do Imax or MIC 1st thing in the morning amaze me. I've done it but it's real tough. Good news that running isn't bothering your body like your chiro thought. Was it the workers who made a mess of your toilet? That's disgusting. How old are they? 3? Don't they know how to lift the toilet seat?

Good morning, Susan and Laurie! Hope you get good workouts in or rest if that's what's on the agenda for today.

Did Kickbox Xtreme up to Combo 5 last night. My goal is to someday finish this workout in its entirety! Had to stop and work on taxes last night. They're done now and e-filed so we're all set for another year. :) This morning was NYC. Only the 2nd time I've done this one. The 1st 1/2 hour really kicks butt but the second 1/2 seems easy. Anyone else feel that way? I'll try going heavier next time for chest.

Happy Thursday!

Sue

Morning BB's,

Didn't get GS BSB workout in yesterday. The track meet went until 9pm. Dang it was cold last night. DD15 did great in the Distance Medley, she was the anchor with the mile. Her time was 5.45, and the relay team came in first. She also did the triple jump and the 4x800. That race was not a good one for her, the sun was down and wind was blowing. She was so cold, and couldn't get her body to warm up enough. I was in the stands with my winter coat, hat and gloves on. I wish I had worn my boots too! :7 :7 Both the boys and girls teams for her school won the meet. She was so happy with her mile time, that the last race didn't seem to affect her at all. :D

Sue, Glad to hear that your ankle is doing well. Congrats on getting your strips. Pretty soon you will be telling us that you are on that black belt. ;-) I don't have KB Xtreme, but want to get it. Bet your form is waaaaay better than Amy's. :7 :7 Does that bother you like some other people have stated on VF and OD?

Karen, WHAT!!! That is just awful! Maybe you can get some money back for pain and suffering. :D My FIL has a disability and will sometimes miss the toilet. I have my DH clean that up, I can't imagine what you went through cleaning up strangers pee! x( Glad the running is going well for you. On TBL: I don't like the way Mark crys so much, so I hope he doesn't make it. But so many people like him. Can't figure it out myself.

Susan, How is your day going?

Have a great day!

Laurie

HI ladies!

Well, I have the plumber downstairs putting in a new shower and toilet for our bathroom so right now the elliptical is on hold! He said he should be done soon (I hope!). I was going to wake up early and go for a run but I slept badly last night and when the alarm went off I just couldn't do it! Stayed in bed for some much needed rest! I'll be walking Ruby here shortly!

Karen, you sure are a good runner! I'm impressed!

Sue, you are doing so well in Dojo! Hope you get your next belt with ease.

Hi Laurie!

Susan

Hi again all, It was potty all over the toliet.

Susan, hope you get your workout in.

Laurie, that is a great time for DD. Wow!! Tell her congrats from me.

Sue, How many nights a week do you have Dojo?

I have to try to find somewhere to go, I can't stand being here limited to one area being moved around all the time.

So much complaining today. Sorry.

We are suppose to get 8 inches of snow tonight. Double Yuk!

Karen, I am sorry you have to put up with that today, and for the next week! It must be unnerving! At least my guy is in the basement and he's a neat freak too! Wow, I hope you don't get all that much snow! Maybe the weatherman will be wrong! Wouldn't be the first time!

Susan

Laurie - The only thing that bothers me about Amy's form are her hook punches. Her arms flail and she hardly puts any energy into them. There are other things that bother me about her workout like leading with a hook punch off the rear arm and an awkward jumping sidekick which feels like a sprained ankle waiting to happen (I sub jacks), but for the most part I like it and it gives me a good workout.

Karen - We have Dojo 2 times a week normally. Sometimes we attend Forms class on Saturday, too. After graduation we have to start attending the green-brown belt class (vs. the white-orange we attend now) so we'll be going Mondays and Thursdays instead of Tuesdays and Fridays. That'll be a little intimidating being in class with higher belts (gulp!) 8 inches of snow! I would run far, far away. Okay, so maybe that's not an option. But I sure would want to!! I'll keep my fingers crossed that it turns to rain instead, misses you or melts right away. :)
