Well this weekend didn't go as planned, no working out for me. Somehow I did something to my shoulder when doing my yoga. Don't know what! But it is sore, and not in a good way! I'm staying away from weights, so will step onto the treadmill and take a little run.

Oh Laurie, that stinks! I hope your shoulder feels better soon! I know when I hurt mine a few months ago it took a few weeks to get back to normal. I did my regular routines but steered clear of shoulder work and pushups for a while!

On Saturday I did Rythmic Step and Sunday was BootCamp. I swear that workout just doesn't get any easier. I have had it since it came out and all this time later, it's still tough!

Today is an hour of Pilates.

Laurie, sorry to hear about your shoulder. A good treadmill run is just what you need.

Susan, sounds like you had fun workouts this past weekend. I really like Rhythmic Step.

Sue, hope your weekend was nice.

I am doing KPC & if I have enough energy I will add on the kickbox step from Kelly Coffey. Maybe some yoga--thinking---No.

Susan - You're right - Boot Camp does NOT get easier! LOL

This weekend was not very good workout-wise. I attempted cardio on Saturday and Sunday and the ankle was just not feeling well. I think I either have a mild sprain or my old achilles injury is acting up - or both. I have to stick to cardio without a lot of jumping, pivots or 1 legged movements and I'm okay. I'll try Turbo Jam tomorrow. Very frustrating. Did MIS this morning without the step warmup and that felt good. Will probably do more weights this week.

DS won his first basketball game on Saturday! I was so excited for him. He and his team have improved so much since the first game it's incredible.

What is everyone doing for Valentine's Day? (Can you tell I need ideas? :+ )

I'm not going to be lifting weights again. I will probably do PlyoX without any arm movements. :)

This morning didn't take me an hour to get into work. :D My DD's shoveled the driveway last night. I'm glad it wasn't too cold for them. They actually enjoyed being outside last night. There was no wind like today.

Today I am doing spinning and Butts and Guts premix.

Laurie, at least you are being smart with your arm. Mine still hurts from a couple of months ago when I hurt it doing wide pull-ups. I just can't seem to give it a rest. Glad your girls got some fresh air and helped you out too. How much snow did you guys get?

Sue, did you figure out what to do with your ankle yet or are you just going to wait it out and not do the twisting moves? I hope it doesn't bother you to much.
 
Karen, we received about 6" of snow yesterday. Today is just a dusting, but it is blowing around. I'm trying really hard to not do anything more to make my shoulder worse. I feel that if it twinges when lifting my purse, then I'm not doing anything to agrivate the shoulder. }( I wish I could do some spinning at home. Your workout sounds like lots of fun today!

Laurie - Your DDs are so sweet to take care of the shoveling. Isn't it snowing by you? It's been snowing steadily all day with at least 2 inches accum. and more expected tonight. You're wise to rest your shoulder. I had a little shoulder pain last week, too - I think from the drop pushups in All Pump Xtreme - but it only lasted a few days.

Karen - I was able to do Turbo Jam Punch, Kick and Jam this morning with no pain in my ankle/heel so I was pretty happy about that. I've been stretching it every time I think about it and doing these strengthening exercises for the ligaments around my ankle that my doctor showed me. I think that is helping but I'm going to avoid high impact for awhile. I was just happy that I can do ANY form of cardio since it wasn't looking too promising a couple of days ago.

So, as I said, I did TJ PKJ this morning and added on the punches and kicks from Janis' Kickbox Strike Zone. I'm off today because DD had an Ortho appt. and had an appt. to have my minivan looked at. The traction control which hasn't worked in months is now magically working again and they didn't find any codes in the system indicating a problem. Weird but at least it's saving us a few bucks in repairs. Only $28.53 instead of the hundreds of dollars I was imagining. Have to work on our taxes today and get caught up on laundry. Not my ideal way to spend a vacation day but at least I won't be driving home in rush hour traffic and slippery roads.

Sue, I haven't been outside since 7am this morning. At that time it wasn't snowing all that much. And of course the windows we have here at work are the glass block, so I can't see outside. :D Oh what fun it is to drive.

Happy Valentine's Day! I didn't get anything for my valentine, and he didn't get anything for me. :D I figure making cup cakes for my DD9 was enough, and he got the leftovers. :9

Today I'm going to do Legs & Back plus ABX. If the back work is too much then it will just be a leg and ab workout for me.

Sue, You wouldn't beleive that it didn't snow as much where I am by Miller Park. When I was heading home, the snow was getting thicker. Our driveway was blown shut, but the DD's where at it again. They gave me a path to drive the van up to the garage.

Today I am doing GS BSB, GS CT premixes and Bodymax 2 all until the upper body.

Laurie, I hope you have a pain free workout. Glad you are home safely. It is strange how it can be snowing so heavy in one spot and a few miles in another direction it is not as bad.

I didn't get anything for my DH and he didn't get anything for me. That's pretty much the norm. That's why I couldn't help you with any ideas, Sue.

Hi guys, it's me again. I found a yoga caribbean workout at Walmart 6 workouts for 5.50. I love them. This is how I could see myself doing yoga everyday. If you see them, give them a try, even if you don't care for yoga. JMO.
 
Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

DH and I usually don't give each other gifts for Valentine's Day either - unless it's something we really want and we say to the other "This can be my Valentine's present" (I do that a lot with workout DVDs) This year though, I suspect he's going to give me something which will make me guilty because I didn't get him anything. I left a card in his car this morning where he'd see it right away. Both of us will be chauffeuring kids around to different places tonight anyway so we won't even see each other until around 9!

Did Jari Love RTTC this morning. Yesterday I did a lot of shoveling while I was home and I'm really glad I'm not sore today.

Karen - Thanks for the tip on Carribean yoga. Is this the same group that does that Carribean workouts on FitTV?

Sue, did you like RTTC? I have it but I don't do it often. Ye. it's the same from FitTV. I posted on open discussion most don't seem to like them but they are referring to cardio. I do like the yoga though. I probably won't get any other ones.
 
Karen - This is only about the 3rd time I've done RTTC but I went as heavy as their advanced person was going and for chest even heavier and I definitely felt it. The leg work is not nearly as good as Cathe's but I got a nice burn in my hamstrings and upper body (except back where I should have gone heavier). Plus, I was sweating like crazy. It's a nice change of pace.

Well yesterday I got in a 3 mile run and the legs and abs from P90X. Still pampering my shoulder. :D

I'm going to the podiatrist on Friday. Need him to take a look at the wart or callous on the heel of my foot. It has been bothering me for some time now and I want to get it taken care of before the fair season starts. Can't be walking around that place all day with a bum foot. x( Hope they use laser and don't suggest digging the thing out. My sister had this and she said the laser was only two treatments for her. Cross my fingers. X

Ok so I'm probably going to ask a dumb question what is RTTC? :D

Forgot to add that I'm going to be doing StretchX and maybe an interval run.

Today I am doing Lowmax and yoga.

Laurie, it sounds like you are getting some good running in. RTTC is Ripped to the Core- Jari Love. I don't think it's a dumb question. With so many abbreviations it could be anything. I hope they can laster it too. I think they do most of the time. My mom had one dug out of her leg but it was cancerous.

Hi, all!

Susan - I tried using my Nordic Track over the weekend but it's been sitting unused for a long, long time so it makes this annoying squeaky sound. I'm sure something needs to be lubricated and I'll admit I haven't figured out exactly what is making the sound -just jumped off and tried something else. It's not the flywheel on top for the arms so it's probably the one on the bottom controlling the skis. Have you ever had squeaking problems and if so what did you use? WD40?

Karen - Are you doing your new Caribbean yoga?

Laurie - You're smart to take care of your foot. I had one of those and eventually it went away on its own but it took a long time. I should have gone to the doctor but I was raised that you only went to the doctor if you had something REALLY wrong with you and it's hard to get rid of that mindset.

Still taking it easy on my ankle/achilles so did Turbo Jam Cardio Party 1 this morning and added on Lowmax Interval #7 (my fave).

Is it really only Thursday? Feels like it should be Friday.
