Morning BB's,

Todays workout is CTX Chest, Abs / Turbo Jam Party Mix 2

DD10 has dance class tonight so I think I should have enough time to get these workouts in. If nothing else I can get the weight work done after we get home. :D That would be like 20 min. for the workout.

Sue, Glad to see that you are back with us. I will have to check out these flavored coffee's you all are talking about. :D I live such a sheltered life.

Susan, Congrats on the weight loss. You are doing a great job on your workouts. You can just tell that having your foot problem taken care of has helped you so much.

Karen, How was the cyclocross this weekend? Sure was beautiful weather that you all had for it. We got so much yardwork done that I have had enough of it until the spring. :7 Did you manage to get to Half Price Books?

Have a great day!

Laurie

Morning all,

Today I did Amy's Slo Mo legs, shoulders and abs. I've never done a harder leg workout. I see a dread factor in this for me. It probably won't be one I'll pick up to do a lot.

Laurie, we went to Brookfield mall, but the kids were with us and didn't like the shopping very much so I didn't get to the book store. I did get my mocha latta chill though. My brother even went and got me another one on Sun. before we left. Glad you got lots of yard work done. Hope you get your workout in.

Sue, glad you are back. I really want an elliptical. At least you got some workouts in. As you can see above, I did get two mochas. When I go to visit my brother, I sort of miss the big city with all the different places to go. It was too loud and bright where they live though. We did get to go swimming at the YMCA. That pool is so warm.

Susan, congrats on the weight loss. You are doing some great workouts. You must have put together some rotation. It's always nice to get compliments from DH.

Take care and have a wonderful day.

Laurie - Those coffees are SO GOOD! I consider them a dessert more than coffee though. :D I was so obsessed with pumpkin spice this weekend I even made pumpkin spice mini muffins. :9 Luckily, they're almost gone. They were addicting. Hope you get your workouts in but don't worry if you don't.

Karen - What a sweet brother you have! Yes, that pool at the Y is very warm. So much so that my kids don't like using the big pool with the slide because they get too cold. I'm afraid they take after me in that regard - I don't like swimming in cold water either.

Susan - Yippee on the weight loss! Is the foot still doing okay?

Friday night's Dojo class was tough! It was the toughest ever and definitely left me looking like a drowned rat. We did kicks and punches using the standing bags and I kicked and punched as hard as I could. We did 10 front kicks each leg, 10 roundhouses each leg, 10 sidekicks each leg, then combos of 10 front/roundhouses each leg and 10 front/round/sidekicks each leg. Thankfully, they gave us 2 minutes to run get our punch guards before we moved to punches. We did jabs, double jabs hi/lo and hooks. I think it was at least 20 each side. To finish up we did 5 pushups with our feet up on the base of the bag (so a decline pushup). I did 8 because I felt like showing off. :7 Then we moved on to learn a new Hapkido move with elbow jabs. Fun Stuff! :7 }(

On Saturday I helped at DS's baseball practice mainly running after balls. Yes, they're still practicing in hopes of doing better next season. Didn't feel like doing anything else workout-wise and had plenty of housework to catch up on so did that.

Yesterday I did 4DS Kickbox + BBC Legs cardio. Knee was sore after BBC so I think I'll have to modify some of the high impact next time.

This morning was 4DS Chest, Shoulders, Tris.

Busy, busy week in store. What's new? :+

Sue

Hey Ladies!

My weekend was kind of quiet, just busy work around the house. Saturday I did Cardio & Weights and yesterday I jumped on the elliptical for 50mn (watching the Packers!).

Today is CTX Kickbox & CTX Power Circuit, cardio only.

My foot is feeling much better. If I am walking alot, running errands a lot it can get a bit sore but not like it was.

Sue, that Dojo class sounds like fun! }( I also LOVE pumpkin spice! I just bought that creamer for my coffee today too!

Have a great Monday and see you tomorrow!

Susan

Morning

Today I plan on doing CC7.

Sue, sounds like that is some awesome Dojo class. I'll bet you burn a ton of calories in that one. Glad the boys are practicing I hope it shows up in their season. How did you make it through Kickbox and BBC cardio together. I don't think I could have done that. Way to go.

Susan, Yea for the Packers. We listened to the first half on our ride home and we watched the second half. What a great game--because the Packers won. Great workouts.

Laurie, still hanging in on your roation. I don't know how you can stick with something that long. I need some of your determination.

Have a great day all.

Morning BB's,

Todays workout is CTX Back, Biceps, Shoulders / Cardio Coach #2 Revised

So did we all get our little dusting of snow yesterday. We actually had some sleet, or what one radio host described as looking like little pieces of syrofoam. :D Didn't stay around long though.

Karen, I don't know if it is determination or just plain stubbornness. :D I have been enjoying the variety in this rotation. And I have gotten in some old workouts that I haven't done in years.

Susan, What a way to watch the Packers. Does watching them play while on your elliptical make you work harder when they make a bad play? :7 I have been known to be running on my TM, and when a bad or good play is made I almost trip. :7 :7 :+

Sue, I agree that your class sounded like it was really a goodie. Having the bag must be really good for making your kicks as strong as they should be. Have you seen improvement in your legs because of the bag?

Have a great day!

Laurie

HI all!

Today is Max. Ints. Strength. For some reason, my biceps are sore today, even though I haven't done much with them the past couple days...Oh well, hopefully Cathe won't fry them too much!

Laurie, do you like those Cardio Coaches? I have looked at them off and on but never purchased. What do you like most about them?

Have a great day ladies- Susan

Busy day so checking in late. . .

Karen - Hope you had a good workout with CC.

Susan - Hope your biceps survive those crazy 8s in MIS. They're evil. }(

Laurie - I didn't buy a bag yet but after last Friday's class I'm real anxious to get my own. :) They actually had catalogs for us at the Dojo tonight to take home so I'll have to decide how much my DH wants to spend on my Christmas present. ;-)

Did 4DS LIS cardio this morning and added on a couple of blasts from LowMax. Had Dojo tonight, too. Much easier class tonight with lots of people and little kids so I'm sure that affects what kind of class they do. One of the instructors asked me when I was coming to their kickboxing class. It's Monday and Wednesday nights 8:15 - 9:00 p.m. and sounds like a good cardio workout. I may have to look into this. :7

Sue

Good Morning,

Today I am doing Slo mo chest, back, biceps and triceps and some ab work. I don't care for the ab work in slo mo. I guess it's not my style.

Sue, how did you like LIS when you did it? Did you ever try HIS yet? So on Dojo nights, you get an extra workout in. That will work out well with the holidays coming.

Laurie, Have you tried any cardios from the 4DS besides kickbox? Do you only have a week or so left of your LGI8 rotation?

Susan, How are you biceps this morning. Why were they sore before you did Max Int Strength?

Have a great day.

Hi there!

Yes, my arms were cooking after last night! Hope I don't have to lift much today!

On todays agenda is the elliptical(Extreme Heart Rate). I was supposed to do this program last week and chickened out! So tonight I must do it! Grrrrr.... }(

Karen, I am the opposite of you, I prefer my ab work in slo mo. I really concentrate and squeeze!

Have a great(chilly) day!

Susan

Morning BB's,

Workout today is Leaner Legs, CTX Triceps / CW Premix #2 Time Saver Step.

Did any of you see that Cathe said in AC that she was going to tell us something about her new offerings some time this week. From the sound of it she may be changing something.

Karen, I am still wishy-washy about getting Amy's Slo-Mo. Guess she is just one instructor that hasn't pulled me in yet. :D Yep after todays workout I only have 1 week of the LGI8 rotation to go. I have scheduled myself a recovery week, and then I'm starting a 4DS rotation. I have yet to do the step portions of the 4DS. I will have to try to get in some practice on the combos before I can attempt them in full. KLUTZ is me!!!

Sue, That KB class probably is a good one. Hope you check it out. Ya on the bag for a Christmas present. Funny how we get fitness stuff as presents and if your anything like me you get excited. :7

Susan, I use the cardio coaches on my TM. I like these because 1) I like Sean's voice. :D 2) The way these are set up they push you to improve your times. 3) Sean's voice. :D Makes me feel like I'm not by myself while doing a workout on a piece of machinery. :D

Have a great day!

Laurie

Karen - Normally I don't sweat much at all at Dojo to really count as a workout. It's real inconsistent though with some days where we work real hard and other days where we learn new Hapkido moves and it's more mental. I haven't tried HIS yet. The complex choreography scares me off a bit and with my workouts being cut shorter, I don't want to waste valuable workout time learning it. I'll get to it eventually. Haven't tried Bootcamp cardio yet either. For some reason this kind of workout doesn't appeal to me right now. I want to do either kickbox or fun step cardio. I'll get to this one eventually, too.

Susan - Didn't realize you had Slo Mo, too. I like slower ab work as well. Don't want to buy the series just for the abwork though and I'm not feeling lately like I need more weight workouts.

Laurie - Wow! That Sean must have one sexy voice for you to mention it twice.;-) :) I need a mental image behind the voice though. If he looks like Newman from Seinfeld, it won't do it for me! LOL Yes, I read that Cathe is making an announcement sometime this week. I'm hoping she'll say she is doing the BOXING workouts next! Then I can use my new bag when I get it for that, too.

Did 4DS Back & Biceps premix + Ab Ripper X this morning.

Sue

Hi guys, slo mo is not in slo motion, it's just standing with twisting moves from side to side with weights.

Sue, yes Sean's voice is dreamy and he looks good too. Go to his site.

Laurie, looking forward to Cathe's announcement.

Susan, go get um on the treadmill.

I don't care for the slo mo series at all. I don't even feel pumped when I'm done like with Cathe. I think I'll stick with Cathe from now on. I do like her hi/lo and her step is way to complicated. I love the abs on the double cardio from CIA bosu workout. Lots of planks and great moves on the bosu- done by Sesun Zieger.

Have a wonderful day.

Hello Wisconsinites!! I hope you guys remember me. It's been about 2 years since I've been around. Lots of life changes and a depression kept me away from you guys (and the computer in general) and away from exercise. I am much better now (just needed time) and back to my exercising. The only difference is I moved to a condo and no longer have a home gym, so no dvds for me. :( I still love Cathe though and get the newsletters, and decided to come and say hi. I go to a gym now, about 5 days a week, plus workout at home.

I'll try to come back later tonight or tomorrow if anyone cares to have me rejoin your checkin group. But I feel a little like the "odd man out" given the fact that I can't do videos at home. :(

Jill

Hi, Jill! :) Of course we remember you. I'm glad to hear things are going better for you and you're over your rough patch. Don't feel like the odd man out because you're not doing Cathe. With all the Cardio Coach and iTread talk around here, I'll bet a bunch of people don't do Cathe anymore. In fact, YOU were doing CC 2 years ago before everyone else jumped on the bandwagon so you can look at yourself as a trendsetter. ;)

So can you still do Pilates and abs at home? Don't know about you but I never liked doing abs at the gym years ago when I used to go. What kind of equipment do you have at your gym? Do you take classes? How are your kids doing? Questions, questions - I know, I'm nosy. :+

Sue

Hi Sue. Thanks for the welcome back! LOL @ the CC trendsetter thing. Yup, I alternate CC with music on my ipod. Ipod is the greatest invention known to exercisers IMO. LOL. It gets me through a lot of cardio minutes.

Long and short of it is this........I broke up with my bf of 3 years which you might remember. That didn't depress me, but it did kind of make me just say "screw it" with the weight control. Then I was really depressed because I wanted to sell my house and it didn't sell and I took it off the market. Then I had a terrible falling out with my (now ex) best friend. You may remember she was my realtor, as well as DS's GF's mom. She decided I wasn't a friend worth having when I decided to take my house off the market!) I stopped exercising completely and started eating a lot out of boredom. I am still single and enjoying it actually, but I gained almost 60 lbs. and got up to a size 16. Soooo embarassing to say that!! :(

I finally weighed myself and the next day started on the South Beach plan. I did great on Atkins but it was too restrictive for me to do again. I am not as strictly on the SB plan, but use it as my guideline for eating for the most part. Lower fat, lower carbs...lower everything. And voila, that and the exercise are working. I am down 30.5 pounds in less than TEN weeks and to a size 12. I am loving my workouts now. I joined a gym because I wasn't using my equipment at home and I got a friend to join with me, so that was such a benefit.

I finally did sell my house - I painted almost the whole interior and got some new carpeting. I put it back on the market March 07 and it sold in NINE days for just $900 under my asking price. I was ecstatic. I bought a great condo just a mile from my house which was wonderful because I didn't want to move out of my town. It's a 3 br, 2 bath condo on one floor that is 1,878 square feet. I love it. The only downside is it's an upper level, which means I do have a great 2 car attached garage, but no basement. So no home gym. I have a huge master closet, 7 x 12, and I have my treadmill in there. I have my elliptical machine and stationary bike in the garage, but it seems it's either too hot or too cold to go down there, so I still wasn't doing much. Thus the gym.

When I can find time, I've been doing a little yoga at home. It's not easy because I go to the gym almost every day, plus I walk my dog. Another part of my depression story---I had to get rid of my beloved puppy Mace because he and my younger son (autistic one) didn't get along. But we now have a nice calm dog that is almost 4 years old and they are great together. So between the walking and the gym, I haven't done much at home at all. I have all of my dvds of course, and when my older son goes to college I'm going to make some room in his bedroom for some workout area. It won't be huge, but his room is designed as a "media room" and is 12 x 22 so I can make enough to at least do abs and pilates/yoga and probably even Turbo Jam. I would love to be able to do step there (my gym only has a few classes) since I really miss it, but I'm not sure if there will be room yet.

My gym............boy talk about a basic gym! No frills, for sure. It's got the cardio equipment (treadmills, bikes, ellipticals, and stair stepper thingys), plus free weights and some hydraulic machines. It does have a locker room, shower, and sauna, which is nice, but I've never used any of them. It's 2 minutes from my house so I just shower at home, and I never have time for the sauna since I got during the day and only want to take an hour for "lunch". The best part just happened today--the owner offered to trade my bookkeeping services for a free membership! I said yes without blinking lol.

They have classes on Tue and Thur night, but again, I go during the day and I either have the boys at night or am too tired by the time 6:30 rolls around. One thing I just found out is they have a yoga class on Sunday morning---I'll be there this Sunday to check it out.

Let's see, what else....oh the boys. They are both doing well! Travis (15) is still at Lakeland School, the school for special ed students only. He has emerged in his classroom as a leader, which is just fantastic for him. He is doing great with our new dog. Sammy (Samantha) is a fabulous, perfect dog. She stays by us when we're outside and listens well, doesn't try to steal food, totally housebroken, and doesn't chew up anything. She doesn't even need a kennel. My friend and her husband are getting divorced. They had 3 dogs and her ex is now working 2 jobs and needed a home for her, so I said I'd take her on a trial basis, not knowing how Travis would be. They hit it off right away. Sammy is fun and likes to play, but she also listens when you say to stop and that is the key. Mace was a puppy and so wound up all the time; it just agitated Travis. Plus Trav is 2 years older and is in better control of himeself now.

Taylor is doing great. I'm sad though, senior year of high school aleady!! We think he's going to end up at Carroll College. We all fell in love with it when we visited. He's applied to a couple of other schools, but I think it will be Carroll, as long as we can get the costs down where they claim we will. He's already met with the baseball coach there and was invited to go to a camp in December. He's excited. And so am I! I asked if it's okay if I go to games once he's in college and he just said "Well, duh". I guess that meant yes. :) He is still with the same girlfriend-over 2 years now! Her mom and I patched things up just enough to be decent to each other when we have to be together. It works.

That's about it in a nutshell. Well, in a novel. Ha ha. I am happy and getting healthier and things are going very well right now. I am still working from home for the same CPA and it's just as stressful as usual. But I'm happy. :)

I can't wait to get updated on all of YOU guys now!
Jill

I love Cardio Coach too. Still do, although I have not purchased volume 7. I figure the 7 I have (including the revised one) are still keeping me busy enough.

Is Marie still around?

HI Jill! Glad to have you back, happier and healthier! You sound like you have really had a lot going on in your life! Happy to hear things are going a bit better.

I hope you continue to check-in! We'd love to hear from you! We all do various workouts now. I don't think any of us do a "pure" Cathe rotation now. It's a good variety that keeps us going!

Will "Cardio Coach" work if you use an elliptical or do you have to be on a treadmill or running?

Take care and keep postin'! Susan

Susan hi! Big hugs to you! I'm so happy you guys aren't too PO'd at me for disappearing for so long to welcome me back.

Oh!! CC is the BEST on treadmill or elliptical. I also use it on the bike, but the elliptical machine has become my new best friend of late. :) It really is adaptable to any cardio machine. It's basically interval workouts.........then there are challenges within the workout. For instance, you have a hills challenge or a speed challenge. You just increase your speed and/or your resistance.........you know if there's another get-together soon I might be able to give you a sample.............lol
