Morning BB's,

Workout: Shape Transforming Circuit / Yoga Zone Flexibility & Stress Relief

I was a very busy lady this weekend, so my workouts suffered a little. Friday I decided that the girls and I would go see a movie. We went to see Syndey White, which is a modern day Snow White. Cute and funny movie. :)

Saturday DD14 and I went to church at 9am so she could get fitted for her confirmation robe. The DCE of our church had a presentation, that was very well done. Then they all went off to visit other churches, and have lunch. So I had to pick her up for that. Then at 5pm I was back at the church, because they had dinner and a movie night. And again I was at the church to pick her up. :) I'm just glad she had a good time.

Sunday was church again (swear my car thought that was the only place to go :D ) After church DD14 and I went to the mall to find a dress for her confirmation. We found a really cute dress and shoes at Boston Store. I walked out of there paying $70 for both items. :D

Yipee on the Packers!!! I'm happy for Brett also.

Karen, Are you less bummed today? Was a good time had by all on your DD's birthday party? :)

Sue, Did you try out any of those BBC's this weekend. Or did you just practice your roundhouse?

Susan, Hope your weekend was not as busy as last weekend.

Marie, Glad your PT will be able to help fix your neck, and nothing serious.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Hi BB's,

Laurie, what better place to have on auto pilot than church? Glad you and DD's had fun this weekend. Sounds like a cute movie. I really like the Shape workouts. Great deal on the dress and shoes, especially at Boston Store. Yea for the Packers and Brett. I am so glad they beat the Vikings. The birthday was fine. Trying not to think about anything and I can stay out of being bummed, it won't last long though. Didn't do any workouts this weekend.

Today I did KPC/LG 81 min premix, it had the punching/kicking drills, then 1 combo some Legs another combo and more legs, another combo and more legs and more legs and the abs. Nice workout. Then I did SH shoulders. Had to make up for being so lazy in workouts this past weekend.

Sue, how did you like Barry's? We all want to know what you thought.

Hi to Susan and Marie, hope you had great weekends.

Have a nice day.

Karen - Hope you're feeling better today. We're always here to listen if you need to "talk".

Laurie - I took a break from practicing roundhouses after Dojo on Friday night but I really, really want a bag. I'm going to try Play it Again Sports and see if I can find one there. Target and Walmart didn't have them.

Hi, Susan & Marie!

Dojo was fun on Friday night. No jammed toes. Toward the end of class as I was standing around waiting to be shown the next cool Hapkido move, someone from the sideline calls my name. I turn around and see MY BOSS! My first thought was work-related of course. What happened to my system and how did she track me down?! Turns out, she brought her grandson to class since her DS and DIL both had to work.

On Saturday I did BBC Legs & Cardio. My legs were shaking during the leg routine which is unusual for me and now my quads are sore for the 2nd time this week! My quads hardly every get sore. What the heck is going on? This DOMS stuff after every workout I do is starting to get old. Or am I getting old? The cardio was tough all right and I had to pause a few times but I made it through. Yesterday I did the weights from BBC Arms & Abs and had every intention of coming back later and doing the cardio but it didn't happen. I think I was expecting more plyo jacks and knew my quads couldn't handle it. This morning I did TJ Cardio Mix 2.

Sue

Hello there! Sorry I didn't get a chance to check in yesterday. My weekend was busy and so was my Monday but that's over and done with and today is a new day!

Yesterday I did jump on the elliptical for 45mn (cardio burn program) and then did pilates lower body. Today is KPC!

Sue, glad your enjoying the new DVD's!

Hope everyone is doing well!

All the best- Susan

Morning,

Today is SH tri, BBC cardio only and B&G floorwork.

Sue, funny that your boss was at your Dojo class. I'll bet that startled you. Glad you are feeling the workouts.

Susan, hope things get a little slower for you soon. Glad you are still getting in your workouts.

Laurie, do you have any Mark Blanchard yoga dvds? Where does the shape circuit come into your rotation?

DS11 lost his flag football game last night 21 to 0. Hard way to lose. He finds out tonight if he passed hunters safety.

I can't believe parent teacher conferences are up next week already.

Have a great day.

Morning BB's,

Today is BBC Shoulders & Back plus the cardio.

Took DD10 to her dance class last night. We had been going on Saturdays, but DD was the only one in the class. The teacher asked if we could come on a different day when there where more students. So far so good. ;-)

Karen, That particular Shape workout is really good for only 30 min. I haven't tried any of the other ones on this DVD. It has 2 other ones on it. The workout you did yesterday sounds like a good one too.

Sue, Good idea going to Play it Again. I know there is a store on 76th and Layton also. It is right next to the Vitamin Shoppe. :) Hope you find one. Sounds like you are doing ok on the BBC workouts. :) I really like the Butt & Leg workout myself. I was thinking of just using the voice only on these workouts. The one problem that I have is the same music is played on each of these workouts.

Susan, Oh yes I know what you are going through. Sometimes I wish that my weekends would slow down. :) Glad you where able to get in a workout though.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Susan - I think they ought to invent 3 day weekends. :) Mine go so quickly just doing the things I "have" to do let alone the things I "want" to do. At least you're still getting your workouts in.

Karen - It does seem early for conferences already next week but in a way it's good if the teacher can identify problems early.

Laurie - I may have to delay getting the bag. Need to buy a new HRM instead. I think Batteries Plus wrecked it because they just replaced the battery a month ago and already it's gone out. It's 8 years old so time for a new one anyway.

Did BBC Shoulders & Back minus the cardio this morning. Ran out of time but I did preview the cardio portion quickly and I'd like to try it. Have fun with it tonight, Laurie! That guy instructor is easy on the eyes. :7 Dojo tonight.

Sue

Morning BB's,

Todays workout is BBC Chest & Abs / 30 Min Run

Have been thinking of doing a recovery week using the P90X workouts. Will probably mess up what the LGI8 rotation is all about, but it is my workout right. :D I don't really care for Core Syn, but it a great workout for the core.

Homecoming is happening this week and DD14 went to school looking like a country girl. She has pig tails in her hair, it looked really cute. :) Not that they are the lumberjacks or anything, but they couldn't dress up as their masscot. Would be politically incorrect.

Karen, They call that Shape workout a circuit. But really it is a cardio interval. She does the workout as if it where rolling hills. So you do an interval, let the heartrate settle, then do the hill again. It is actually fun to do. I was suppose to do 1.5:1 interval, and didn't want to do it on the treadmill. This just caught my fancy so I put it in. :) No I don't have any Mark Blanchard workouts. I have seen some of his workouts on Exercise on Demand, but have never tried them.

Susan, Hope you have a great day, and don't worry if you miss posting to us. We understand what a busy life is like.

Sue, LOL about the instructor in the BBC workout. Yep he is good looking. The cardio in this one is good also. I enjoyed the jumprope aspect of it. Really gets my calf muscles sore, and I'm feeling it today. :D May be the reason why I am looking at a recovery week.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Morning,

Today I will do CC#5, SH back, abs and yoga.

Laurie, last week was Homecoming for Rice Lake. Both DD15 and DD16 went to their first dance Sat. night, just with some of their girl friends. That seems to be the norm now. Not many date type dances. Enjoy your run today.

Sue, so you like BBC? I must have different taste than all of you because I just don't care for them. Glad you are enjoying them. Did you get a good workout in at Dojo last night?

Susan, hope things are slowing down for you. Check in when you can. Take care.

Have a nice day.

Laurie - I never noticed about the music in BBC being the same in all their workouts so I made sure to listen this morning. Are they playing the same song OVER AND OVER? Ugh. Maybe that's why Karen doesn't like BBC.:) I've got that tune stuck in my head right now and it's driving me crazy. I can see how that BBC cardio with all the jump roping would be hard on the calves. He mentioned it being good for cellulite which is why I should be doing it. So your DD's school nickname is the Lumberjacks? I would expect that for a school up north - not around here. I guess at one time our area had lumber jacks, though. We're the Bulldogs and Wolverines.

Karen - There are things I don't like about BBC (e.g. music, warmups that aren't really warmups - more like the actual cardio - especially on the legs workout, not telling us what weights to use, having those "treaders" in the background) but I really like the weight work. They have different exercises and I feel nicely worked out when I'm done. I guess that's the main way I evaluate a workout - how do I feel when I'm done and the next day. We'll see how long I keep liking them. Maybe I'll get sick of them.

Did BBC Chest & Abs minus the cardio this morning. I'm taking a half day today so I can take DD to the Ortho and have the dishwasher repaired. I should be able to get some cardio in. No change that to I WILL get some cardio in!

Sue

Hi!

This morning I walked for 30mn and then I walked the kids to school and came back home for another 30mn. Now I am heading to do Muscle Endurance!

The week is getting better everyday! :)

Susan

Hi BB's,

Today I plan on doing SH back, Kellys Kickbox and yoga.

Sue, how did the ortho go for DD? Did you get in your cardio? I guess on the BBC, I can get a good workout doing something with good music and Cathe so I choose that. Are you and DH still walking or is Dojo enough?

Susan, you sure got a long walk in yesterday. I would have walked to school but we live to far away, it would have taken 2 hours to walk there with the kids. Muscle Endurance is such a great workout but I seem to reach for MM more. Glad your week is getting better.

Laurie, What is your favorite yoga dvd? I think I asked you this a while ago. I don't have a very good memory. The only Shape workout I tried so far is the cardio interval off of transforming. I think it is a good workout in a minimal amount of time.

Have a great day.

Morning BB's,

Todays workout is Xstretch. I have decided that I will do a P90X recovery week. I'm looking at doing this type of thing every 4-5 weeks.

Will we be getting an announcement today. There was something mentioned on a thread about an update to the blog today. :) Crossing my fingers.

DD14 has a Xcountry meet today, and a relay race tomorrow. She is going to the dance, with her GF's.

Karen, You have some great workouts planned for today. My favorite yoga so far has been Tony and Bryan Kest. I'm looking at getting Baron Baptiste and Kristen McGee. I like the power yoga the best. Yep that is the workout I have been doing on the Shape DVD. I previewed the last one, and wish the kickbox portion was longer. I also don't think this thing is chaptered. I would love to tack on the KB portion to the cardio without having to go through the shape commercial.

Susan, Good for you getting in all that walking. I have been enjoying my early morning walks also. The moon has been so bright, and the air so crisp. Just a pleasure taking a walk. Guess I won't be saying that when the temp is -10 or something. :7

Sue, The school name is actually Indians. But of course they wouldn't be able to dress up like that. So they dressed up like lumberjacks. I don't get the connection. :D Guess they are thinking outside the box. :D Have to ask if you DID get your cardio in. :7

Have a great day!

Laurie

Laurie & Karen - Yes! I did get my cardio in last night.:) Almost blew it off because it was a hectic night but I did it even if it was only 19 minutes.:)

Laurie - Did you come up with your own BBC rotation or are you following someone else's? I'm just winging it myself. Thanks for the heads up on a possible annnoucement today. They've been really tight-lipped this time around.

Karen - DD has to have an upper canine "exposed" because it's not coming down on its own and we're waiting for 2 adult teeth to come in on the bottom so the Orthodontist didn't put bottom braces on yet. Supposed to come back in 6 weeks. DD will NOT be thrilled about the oral surgery to expose the tooth. Hopefully, they put her under for that. No, DH and I aren't walking anymore. Dojo 2x a week is all we handle right now.

Did BBC cardio from Back & Shoulders last night. It was tough on the quads but easier than the cardio on the Leg workout I thought. My calves were definitely burning with all those 1 legged hops. Evil man that Joey. This morning was a 3 mile walk/jog.

Hello!

Today was walking 30mn, mowing lawn 45mn, and then the elliptical for 40mn!

Sue, I had that same surgery on my teeth when I was about 14. They do knock you out, at least they did way back then! It wasn't too painful either.

Today is a beautiful day! I do wish the temps were more "Autumn" though!

Susan

Thanks, Susan! That's a relief to know - I'll pass it along to my DD. She really has become anxious about pain and needles lately.

You're getting lots of cardio in and enjoying the weather to boot I'll bet. :7

Have a good evening.

Sue

Morning,

Today I plan on doing SH chest and hi/lo Extreme, abs and yoga.

We will be at a Mt. bike race in Sheboygan this weekend so no workouts. I may wear my weighted vest while I do all the walking. I sure hope it doesn't rain. It makes for a long day at a race with the 3 girls who don't much care about the racing. I love it. We can't afford to do races next year so this race will be bitter sweet. DS12 is in 2nd overall and DS9 is in 3rd overall. I don't even think we can afford the banquet where they would get their medals.

Laurie, recovery week sounds good. I think I will try to incorporate those also. How did DD do in the cross country meet?

Sue, I hope DD doesn't worry to much. My DD15 worries about everything and it most of the time turns out to be nothing. I hope she learns not to worry about everything. Hope you had a good workout at Dojo. Why do they call it Dojo, I thought it was Tae Kwan Do?

Susan, hope your weekend isn't as busy as the last one. It's nice you have been taking advantage of the nice weather.

Have a great weekend all.

Morning BB's,

Today is YogaX and I am looking forward to it.

I will be busy tonight being Taxi Mom. The parade is around 4pm and then the game is tonight also. Tomorrow I don't have to do taxi service until before the dance starts. Sunday I have to get DD14 to the school, because she will be working at a marathon.

DD14 came in 27th yesterday with a time of 17:30. She wasn't to happy with her time, but she said the course was pretty hard. I also reminded her that this is her first year running all these courses. The girls varsity team came in 1st overall though. So she was very happy about that. Today the team is running a relay run to the opposing team that they are playing for homecoming. They will be delivering a letter to the principal of that school. This sounds like a great idea.

Karen, You should have great weather for the race this weekend. Susan can probably tell you better, but we are suppose to have 80's all weekend with no rain in the forcast, so enjoy watching your guys race. I'm so sorry to hear about the races for next year. They have done a great job this year. It just cost so much to travel. :( Is there anyway to get some sponsorship? Or is that forbidden!

Susan, How is your weekend looking, still a busy one? You are doing some great workouts.

Sue, Just do it! Good for you for getting in that cardio. That is what I like about the BBC's. They are short but intense. You now have something in your collection that you can pull out when you don't have a lot of time, but want a good workout. I inserted the BBC workouts for one week in the LGI8 rotation. I will also be using it in the final week 8. I'm looking at doing a longer rotation after I do a 4-Day Split rotation.

Weekend workouts include Core Syn for Saturday, and KenpoX on Sunday.

Have a great weekend,

Laurie

Laurie - Have a good weekend being "Taxi Mom" ;-). Take lots of pictures. Yes, I am glad to have the shorter BBC workouts especially now that my workout time in the morning is reduced. Just have to keep telling myself "It's only 20 minutes - you can do this!" Enjoy Yoga X. I have to do this one again sometime soon.

Karen - Sorry to hear your boys will have to give up racing since they're so good and love it so much. Are you going to get them into some other activity to replace it? Speaking of expense, I don't know how long we'll continue with Dojo. We prepaid for an entire year so we'll go thru next August at least. The problem though is that you end up shelling out even more money for sparring gear and belt testing. DH cringes every time we spend more money there. I call it Dojo because its quicker to type than Tae Kwan Do and the place we go to is called American Dojo.

Susan - Have a great weekend! While it's nice not to need a jacket yet, these higher temps are making me sweat buckets during my workouts! I'm not going to pray for cooler weather though because I know it's coming! }(

Did KPC Kicking & Punching Premix (I think that's what it's called - the 41 min. one with combos 1-3 + abs) last night. With my shorter morning workouts, I felt like I needed some extra cardio and this one felt great last night. Did BBC Full Body this morning. Man, oh, man is that one tough! I couldn't do all the burpees. I did 3 and just stood there catching my breath for the rest. Dojo tonight and my boss already told me she would be there so I have that to look forward to tonight. Lucky me. x( I like my boss - it's just that I like to keep my free time separate from my work.

Have a great weekend!

Sue

Hi everyone ! Posting really quick before I have to run the kids to march in the parade!

Today will have to be an "off" day. Haven't decided what the weekend has in store for me but it will be quieter!

Enjoy ladies and see you Monday! Susan
