Morning BB's,

Today will be StretchX.

Had a nice relaxing weekend. DH and I went to Chicago and purchased the material for a dress for DD9. She loved it. So I'm happy about that.

Sunday was a lazy day for me, I even had a little nap. DD's where busy playing in there rooms. :D

Guess winter has finally decided to decend on us. How cold has it been for you Karen. I remember living up North how cold it could get!

Have a great day!

Laurie

Good Morning BB's,

Today is APX.

Laurie, glad you had a nice relaxing weekend. It's always nice when you buy something for someone else and they actually like it. Today it is 7. I figure it was probably close to that yesterday too. Today is suppose to be the warmest day for a while with a high of 13. Is it suppose to be warmer by you guys?

Have a nice day.

Hi, Laurie & Karen! Haven't heard the forecast for today. It was 11 driving in this morning. So do you sew the dress yourself, Laurie?

This morning was supposed to be a 30 minute interval run so I did Step 'n Intervals cardio instead. I'm now officially done with the January rotation. It was okay. Not what I expected for a January rotation but I did get some good workouts in. Now it's on to some workouts I've been missing or wanting to try until I start my P90X rotation.

That's right - I received my P90X exactly 1 week after it was ordered. That's a far cry from my first order (Turbo Jam) from Beachbody. DH wants to do the program with me - exercise and diet - after he reads through the information and we get a pullup bar. We may need extra dumbells, too if we're going to do the routines together. I can't see DH getting up early every morning like I do so I imagine some days we'll be doing them separately. Not sure we even have enough room to do the cardio at the same time - probably not. I'm happy he's excited about it. He watched the infomercial and the intro dvd so he knows a little bit already. He's bummed there's no cheat meal/cheat day like in Body for Life but he figures he can do it if there's a light at the end of the tunnel. I don't know if I can do it. 90 days is a long time and we have my Mom's birthday, a company party and Easter in there.

I'm off this afternoon. Have a good rest of the day. Stay warm!

Sue

Hey Sue, have a nice afternoon off. I sounds like a lot of people don't use the eating plan from P90X. If you can't stick with it, I wouldn't worry about it. What workouts have you been wanting to try lately? I don't know if I would like working out with my DH. I don't mind riding bike with him but working out is kinda my own thing. He is not one to stay inside to do any workout anyway. He likes skiing, biking, and the like. No weights in his future. It's funny how we are all so different in what we like to do.

Just rambling. Bye.

Karen -

To try: Brand New Butt & More which I picked up at Half Price Books a couple of months ago and Hardcore Kickbox Circuit (also with Janis Saffell).

Missed: Amy Bentos Kickbox Xtreme & Hi/Lo Xtreme

Ssssshhhhh . . .can you keep a secret? I'm secretly hoping only the weight workouts and maybe the yoga one will work with both of us at the same time. I'm used to working out on my own so I might not like having someone else around. Hope that doesn't make me sound selfish - just trying to preserve 14 1/2 years of marriage! ;-)

Sue

Sue, it doesn't sound selfish. If it did then my post before yours was moreso. Preserve away.

Morning BB's,

Today is Chest & Back & ABX.

Sue, I never followed the eating plan. My goal wasn't to shead BF, I really wanted to increase the strenght in my shoulders. This program has helped me do this. I know I will never have the problem of DH wanting to work out with me. I think even the word exercise is against his religion. :7 I'm sure there will come a day when it finally hits him that he needs to exercise, but he hasn't gotten to that point.

Karen, we have about the same temps as you do. Started out this morning with 8 deg. This weekend we are suppose to get below zero. x( Our new associate pastor is moving from Georgia to Wisconsin this weekend. :D What a way to welcome someone to WI, with below zero weather.

Already my DH has had his first run in with one of the guild members. People shouldn't e-mail nasty letters if they don't want them to get out. He is handling this fairly well.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Good Morning BB's,

3 degrees today. I will be doing Kelly's step kicking workout and then CTX kickbox workout.

That's to bad about people writing nastey e-mails. I am glad your DH is handling it ok. We are suppose to get below zero weather here this weekend also.

Have a nice day.

Karen, That is the new Kelly's step kicking workout. I heard that one was a good one. How do you like it?

Laurie

Laurie, yes, it's Kelly's new one. I love it. It's short but it's lots of fun. It would be nice if it was just a tad longer. I think it clocks in at 30 min of actual kickbox and then light toning after. I normally use it with something else. I like all her workouts.

Karen - Kelly's workout sounds fun! Step kickbox is right up my alley. :)

Laurie - I know I'm lucky that DH wants to do P90X with me. It should help us motivate each other. Both of us need to lose some bodyfat so hoping P90X will be the kick in the pants we need.

Did Janis Saffell's Brand New Butt & More this morning for the first time. I should have gone heavier with the weights because the "& More" part (upper body, abs) was lacking. Good butt workout but I prefer Butts & Gutts. Some balance and functional fitness moves so that was good.

Have a great day!

Sue

Good Morning BB's,

Today I am doing Power Hour. Haven't done that one in a while. My legs are still sore from APX.

Sue, do you think Brand New Butt is advanced? It's hard when you have never done a workout to know how much weight to go with. You don't want to tucker out to soon.

Have to get our woodbox filled before this weekend. We don't want to be filling it in sub zero weather.

Have a wonderful day.

Morning BB's,

Finally have a chance to chat, started out the morning right from the get go. :)

Today will be PlyoX for me.

Karen, When I was living with my parents at home we had to fill the end of the basement where the furnaces was with wood. I don't envy you having that job to do. But it sure is a workout, escpecially when you try to see how much wood you can carry at one time. :D

DH is in Madison until tomorrow. It is amazing how differenly one sleeps when the partner isn't in the bed. I had all the covers wrapped around me. Must have been cold without my human furnace in the bed. :D

Have a great day!

Laurie

Laurie, I bet you could carry a lot at one time. I am sure you ran with it too. I know my boys always race to see how much and how fast. I help them so it goes faster. At least you had plenty of blankets. And now just think, only one more night to go. Have fun with Plyo X.

I ended up doing Tracey Stahle core conditioning and Kelly Coffey NYC.

Have a nice day.

Karen - If I had used the ankle weights then the lower body would definitely been advanced. I didn't want to do this the first time with the workout. You're right - it's better to go conservative with the weights the first time which is what I do, too. There's just not enough for the upper body to be advanced even if you did increase the weights. I've heard Tracy's Core workout is good. Cute story about your boys racing with the wood.

Laurie - Have fun with PlyoX. I'm looking forward to trying that one the most. If I don't have my human furnace next to me in bed, there's always the cats:) DH used to call me a furnace - especially when I was pregnant.

Tried another one of Janis' today: Hardcore Kickbox Circuit with Guillermo Gomez. I think I'll like this one after I get the combos down better. They weren't that tough but when he (Guillermo) starts alternating between combos without cueing, you have to really think. I consider this workout intermediate but a nice change of pace.

Have a great day!

Sue

Hi BB's,

Today will be Imax 3 and a little yoga.

Sue, how many cats do you have? It's neat there was a break in your rotations so you could play catch up on some of your new workouts. I am always hesitant to try something new. I am getting better.

Have a great day.

Morning BB's,

Today is Shoulders & Arms and ABX.

My morning is starting out quite strange. First off my DH wakes me up at 4:45 this morning, because my DD13 left a box for him to trip on. They worked all night and then drove home. He was snoring within 10 min of his head hitting the pillow. I had a hard time getting DD9 out of bed. Took a good half hour. So we didn't leave for me to drop her off at school at the right time. Then on top of it all I forgot my coffee in the car, just glad I don't mind the mile walk to get it. :9

Enough complaining for me, hope everyone else has a better day.

Laurie

Laurie, sorry your day started out so poorly. I hope it gets better. That was funny about your DH waking you up for something your kids did. Mine would do the same thing. I am not sure what for. Anyway, you got more exercise in then you thought. Now you can eat more. Take care.

Karen - We have 2 cats and they are very spoiled:) It doesn't sound like you're afraid to try new workouts. Kelly's step kickbox and NYC workouts are fairly new aren't they? I know what you mean though about trying new things. So many times I'm disappointed in a workout - too easy, too complex, too short, etc.

Laurie - My day started off funky, too. Decided to sleep in this morning but was paged at 6:00 a.m. and awakened anyway. Got up, dialed into work, took care of the problem and went back to bed. I must have turned my alarm off because the next thing I know it was 7:04! My alarm was set for 6:45 so it wasn't that bad and I made it to work on time. You sound like my DH with your 1 mile walk to your car. He brags about all the steps he gets in during the day on his pedometer. Our office area is just not that big. The shop area is big but I hardly ever have to go out there. Even parking on the far end of the lot only gives me about 300 steps. This is why I started walking a mile every day.

Like I said, I slept in this morning so no workout. Stayed up late last night watching the Top Chef finale. I wanted Sam to win but he wasn't even 1 of the top 2 (top 4). DH is supposed to take the kids to a ski hill tomorrow night for tubing but I heard about an arctic blast moving in tomorrow and the coldest weather in 10 years so I think it'll be cancelled. I wanted to go but I'm on call. The good news is that if it's postponed I'll get to go. I've never been tubing before. I know, I know - I don't get out much.

Sue

Sue, hope the trip gets postponed so you get a chance to go tubing too. I have never tubing either. My kids have gone with their dad. I got hurt on a sled once, since then I haven't been sledding. My DH goes with the kids now, or they go by themselves.
