BUFF BADGERS 1/14 - 1/18

Laurie - What is the full name of PY4H Magically Hips? I keep telling myself I need to find a shorter yoga workout I'll do more often but haven't bought anything yet. For update on my no caffeine day see below. Not good. Happy shopping in the cold!

Susan - I'll let you know how it goes with the no caffeine thing and my thyroid. It is really tough drinking only water all day.

Jill - Good job on the morning workout! Hey - I think we're all a.m. exercisers in our group now. Must be the peer pressure. ;-) I know you're going to keep going until you reach your goal. Sometimes we just need a reminder why we had that goal in the first place.
Day 21 of 12 Week Challenge

Had a bad eating day yesterday. . .It started off as a very stressful day at work. On top of that I decided to give up diet soda and caffeine so I was cold and tired when I got home. DH was planning to make dinner and wasn't home yet so I knew dinner was more than an hour away and I was starving. Reached in the cupboard for a couple of almonds and then proceeded to eat the raisins and peanuts in the trail mix, too. It tasted good so I kept eating. Then I started reaching for other things in the cupboard - triscuits, chewy granola bar, graham crackers. It turned into an eating binge and I felt bad because I thought I had conquered my emotional eating. DH came home and made dinner. He knew I had a tough day so let me go veg on the coach. I ended up falling asleep! Woke up, had pork chops, brown rice and asparagus that DH made. The pork chops were a little fatty but I didn't complain because I had already blown it and he worked hard on dinner. Didn't eat anything after dinner so I didn't go completely out of control but I decided to call yesterday my free day. I drank tons of water yesterday so I'm not sure why I was so hungry to begin with other than being really tired.

So I had a little "bump in the road" yesterday but I'm not going to let that keep me from achieving my goal. I'm in this for the long haul.

I WILL NOT GIVE UP! I WILL NOT QUIT!

Eating is back on track today. No morning workout though. I had a phone call from work at 1 a.m. and had to dialin and fix a problem. Whenever that happens I always have a hard time getting up the next morning to workout so I slept in. I'm going to walk at lunch and go to Dojo tonight and workout afterwards time and energy permitting. Drinking my water. :) Hoping the caffeine withdrawal isn't so bad today.

Sue

Sue, Dang on the tough day yesterday. Stress and no caffeine. Sounds like today may be getting better though. After all it is Friday today. ;-) PY4H is Power Yoga for Hapiness and Eion Finn is the instructor. It comes with 2 discs and 4 workouts on each disc. The one I did yesterday was all about opening up the hips, and I must say it really did make the hips happy. I know they sell it at Amazon. Hope your day goes well for you today.

Laurie

Thanks, Laurie! :) You're such a sweetie. Yes, today is better and TGIF! I'm going to checkout Amazon for that yoga set. Sounds like lots of variety.

Sue

Well, here I am in NYC - and all I can say is.... GO PACKERS GO!!!!!!!!! I'm so nervous/excited I can hardly stand it and knowing how things in Wisconsin are right now is killing me, as I sit surrounded by Giants fans! yikes
Here's hoping we have something fantastic to celebrate on Monday!!

Good afternoon ladies! I am so glad it's Friday. 3 more hours and I'm turning off my work phone and email!

I went to the gym again early this morning. I am feeling so good about my morning workouts. They make me feel great all day, and I'm proud of myself for doing it. Especially this morning-it was SO COLD.

I can't get over how cold it is outside and it's going to get worse. I am happy I will be watching THE GAME in front of my fireplace lol.

Susan, 4am for workouts? I think not. That would be horrendous. I am lucky to work at home so I have some flexibility. I leave for the gym when DS leaves on the bus, about 7:50am. So I am usually at my desk around 9ish. Since I work late (8pm the last two nights) a lot during tax season I don't feel guilty about that late start. Do you listen to music at all while doing the programs on the elliptical? I don't know what I'd do without music, it would be so boring to me.

Laurie, I'm glad you outsmarted Cami this morning lol. I didn't see a flyer for Boston Store-I had just gone to exchange pants and my eyes glazed over when I saw SO MANY racks with 70% off signs on them. Actually I really need a winter coat but I think it might be too early for sales on those.

Sue, you're right about goals. When I started this workout/eating again on Labor Day, it was so daunting, wanting to lose 54 pounds. I had gained so much weight. :( Then when I hit the halfway mark something just went "okay take a break" in my head lol. Now I feel motivated and excited about it all again. Thank goodness! Good for you for giving up caffeine. That is one of my worst vices. Probably THE worst. I hope your withdrawal isn't too bad. :)

Well hello NY25! Nice to see you here. :) Are you a displaced Wisconsinite? If you were here you might be on the verge of being tired of hearing about it all like me. I LOVE the Packers, but I am looking forward to the game on Sunday and the hype coming to an end. Until Monday of course, when we're all talking about going to the Superbowl. LOL

Hey, we're optimistic!! I'm actually a little nervous to be honest; everyone I've read about is saying it's practically a lock that GB will win. There is no such thing as a sure thing; I hope the players aren't believing too much of their own hype.

Okay back to work for me. Have a great weekend girls!! I know we'll all be gathered around our tvs on Sunday, rooting for our team!!

Jill

Hello there Buff Badgers!

Today is Cicruit Max for me. I think this is tougher than Cardio & Weights. It's cold in my basement where I exercise so I put extra pep in my step to break a sweat! Oh, and yes I always listen to music when on the elliptical. Unless there is a really good movie on...

Saturday is my Birthday and I turn the big 4-0! I am so excited!! Maybe cuz I don't "feel" 40? I am taking the day to myself, however, I am doing my favorite step routine: Rythmic Step. We're going out to eat,the kids want Red Robin. They all say they are going to spoil me rotten so we'll see! Hope to finish a good book. And when the Packers win, well that will be an extra present!

Sue, I completely understand your binge! I was there just a few days ago when major PMS hit. Not pretty, but we are only human...

Laurie, Cami sure sounds like a lot of fun! You have yourself a handful there!

Jill, you are doing great! It has to be hard to leave the warmth of your house to head to the gym sometimes!

My sister and hubby are season ticket holders to the game and she was telling my about all the layers she is wearing on Sunday. To me, it's not enough! I get cold so easily!

Have a great weekend ladies!! GO PACK GO!! GreenBay all the way!!!

Susan

Oh Susan have a happy birthday tomorrow!! I like your idea of a "me" day, what a nice present to yourself. :) I think RS is my favorite Cathe step workout, too.

I'm planning to do C&W tomorrow and I agree that it is not as hard as Circuit Max. I'm working up to Cathe-caliber lol. Tomorrow will be my first Cathe in a long time and I'm excited about it.
