Bruising question

TAMARALEE

Cathlete
I'm hoping someone out there can give some input on this.

About 5 days ago while shaving I noticed a bruise around the outside of my left ankle (around that ball bone). By the next day it got darker, as bruises do. I do not recall bumping or hitting it on anything. It goes around the entire bone. It was a little sore if I pressed on it, but not something I would have noticed had I not seen it.

I wouldn't really think much about it but this is the second time it's happened in the past 4 - 6 months.

Occassionally my ankles get sore from pushing it to hard, High impact etc. But they have been fine lately. I eat healthy, & take vitamins.

Is it possible to bruise from overuse? Kind of weird.

Thanks for any advice.

Beats me. All I know is that bruises turn up on me all the time for no apparent reason. But then, I've been a klutz all my life. I'm so used to running into things that I don't even notice it anymore. :7 :+

I always get bruises and NEVER remember bumping myself. They just seem to appear.

Do you think a particular pair of shoes might be rubbing your ankle. May not be much help but that is all I could think of.

That's a good thought, but I am using a new pairsince the first time it happened.
I also seem to get bruises that I have no idea how. Seems wierd same place like that though.

I'm a walking bruise. I get them constantly in random places usually with some vague memory of DS crashing into me or bumping myself on the corner of something somewhere. I once heard it could be related to some vitamin deficiency.

From now on, I'm going to be more decisive. Possibly.

I'm another one who finds bruises often and have no idea where they came from. I do have two kids who crawl all over me and sometimes get ruff so maybe its just that but I'm also a tad clumbsy sometimes and bump into stuff. I've wondered before about it being some kind of vitamin thing also. amazingly looking at my legs now I don't see many. Sometimes I find several small ones and an occasional big one.

I'm not a doctor of any sorts, but bruising from overuse seems a bit odd. There isn't a whole lot of circulation in your connective tissue, from what I understand. Maybe if there's something mechanically out of place like a joint or deposits of some sort, but I would think that would be causing a lot more pain. Just thinking out loud here.

A couple times now I've woken up with about 20 tiny (2-3 mm) dark purplish black bruises down the front of each of my thighs. It's freaky, I think I would remember being hit dozens of times with a tiny object. Anyone else get this? I mentioned it to my doc, and got the classic brushoff.
