Bridesmaid dress is too tight :(

My dress is too tight arround the middle. I can zip it, but I can barely breath.
I"m hoping the seamstyress can let it out a bit. But as far as work outs, what should be doing? I was just going to start lifting weights (just did cardio for the past few months because I was post surgery). But now I'm afraid to add any additional size.

This is the dress: http://www.foreverbridals.com/gownpix.asp?Style=78101

Hi Patience. Can you give us a bit more details? When is the wedding? How does your body usually respond to cardio, or say circuit training? What is you diet like? Give us some info about you and perhaps folks will chime in with some guidance for you.

The wedding is in 3 weeks.
I just got back into working out 3 months ago (had surgery a year ago so had to start slowly). I know that I lost a lot of weight after surgery, with no exercise at all, but I ate only 1000 calories a day. I"m 5'0 and 110 lb. Over all I"m happy with my body, but I do carry a lot more fat arround my middle that one should (no wonder the dress is too tight there).

My current diet isn't perfect. On a good day I eat:
B: Oats with greek yogurt
S: fruit
L: brown rice with chicken and veggies or turkey sandwitch on whole wheat bread with veggies and fat free dressing
S: granola bar
D: fish or chicken and some type of carb (brown rice or whole wheat pasta, or potatoe or a whole wheat wrap)
S: weight watchers ice cream bar or smoothie (just frut and almond milk)

This is what my good days looks like, bit I've been having a hard time sticking to this. And I did have some pretty bad days in there, which is probably why I gained back all the weight I lost after surgery.

My workouts have just been cardio calsses I've taken at the gym 3 times a week. I have Cathe's Body Blast serries, Low Max, and ME is on its way, but I tried Cathe's cardios and can only get through about 20 min of them. I have Turbo Jam DVDs which I can get through without a problem.

Doing what you can do get through

without a problem won't help. Its doing the hard stuff that works. Its ok to be out of breath.

Also, try adding a little yoga. That always works with me.

lol. I meant doing what you can get through without a problem.. . .I'm not the smartest bear ever. . .

Hi Patience~ I love that dress!! My DD tried that one on for prom but as usual, she didn't like it as much as I did:rolleyes:

Your eating on "good" days looks healthy so maybe you should focus on eating clean everyday until the wedding. Drink more water, stay away from too much salt, eliminate processed foods etc.. Keep up your cardio workouts as best you can and try to add in some strength training.

I would still have a seamstress look at the dress and let it out slightly if possible. Three weeks may not be enough time to lose what you need to feel comfortable in the dress. Also, there are garments like spanx that will help to "pull" you in which might make the dress fit better.

Good luck & have fun at the wedding!
