Boxing series using a bag

I know this question was asked in the other forum and I'm certainly not rushing Cathe, we all just received our dvd's. However I recently took a kickboxing class using the bag and I recall Cathe saying she was going to do a dvd using a bag. I was thinking of looking for a workout that uses a bag but if I can get some information as to when Cathe first discussed the series, maybe I'll wait. Does anyone remember when she outlined the different series she was going to do? Thanks

Thank you, wow, that was a long time ago. From that announcement the boxing series would have been filmed in the spring of this year, but ofcourse we know that couldn't happen because she was injured. I guess I'll just have to wait and listen. Thanks again. Hard to believe that was last September when the series was announced, time kind of flies fast.

I can't wait to get these next DVD's. I bought her newest ones that just came out and I hope she keeps them coming. I can't get enough of her. Way excited about the kickboxing one. That is on the top of my list. I hope it is advanced as well. :)

By any chance did Cathe mention what type of bag will be used? I've seen free standing floor kinds used in home workouts before, I wonder if that's it. I REALLY hope it's not a bag that needs to be screwed into the wall.

I really hope she still plans on filming the boxing series. I bought a free standing bag to use for karate so I'm all set.

Here is a link to the one I bought:

There are cheaper ones but the lighter you go, the more likely it will slide around on the floor. Even this one moves a little with kicks and the base is supposed to weigh over 250lbs when filled with water. I used to have one that hung from the ceiling but I like the free standing one better.

I am not sure if I know what the difference is. I have done Body combat at the gym but that's not with the bag, and I have done Janis Saffell. Please explain! :)
P.S. Shelley, were you, by chance, on the babyfit website? I swear I have seen your picture before!

boxing uses just punches - no kicks at all, kickboxing uses punches and kicks. boxing is a FABULOUS upper body workout!!! :7

Lots of shuffles, bob and weaves, things like that. You are moving around a LOT. However, I would imagine that for workout purposes, Cathe would insert some kind of other leg movement, though likely not kicking.
