Bowflex Tredclimber or elliptical ???

The holiday season is rolling around and I'm sure I've wore my husband down and I'm hoping to get an elliptical for Christmas...can someone give me, in their opinion, what they feel is the best bang for the buck?? I don't have unlimited cash flow, and would like to buy one, not finance one. Is the bowflex Tredclimber better than an elliptical?? Or is the Nordic Track spacesaver just as good??? Is it better to buy something at like 2nd wind exercise or what?? I live FAR FAR from a gym and I like to do Cathe's videos (am getting the new ones, preordered long ago) but I feel I would like an elliptical.
Can someone please help me so I am informed when I find my husband at his weakest.

I think you'll get a lot more bang for the buck with an elliptical. The Tread Climber is supposed to be really good, but they are very expensive and bulky. An elliptical does basically the same thing and costs about half of what the Tread Climber does. One of the girls here has the Nordic Track Spacesaver and loves it. Says its very sturdy and very well made. Nordic Track also received some Consumer Best Buy awards for their ellipticals.

fitnessfanaticfromMN..I am the one Christine is referring to! I got the Space Saver Elliptical from Nordic Track a couple of months ago. I love it!! I have no info on the Tread Climber. The Elliptical is easy to fold up and has 10 programs that get very tough as the number goes up. My main cardio is running which I do outdoors, but the Elliptical has been a great compliment to running for me! The only thing I will say is if you are not good with putting things together (this Elliptical comes in parts) then pay someone to do it....:)...good luck on your search...

i have the treadclimber get the ellipitical. the treadclimber is heavy hard to move and hard to put together. if it breaks it will be hard to find someone to fix it. we had a broken part on ours that we have already had to replace.

Thank you very much to all.....I knew I could count on you guys to help. Ryan looked at the Bowflex brochure and said "no way" and I think I'll be just as happy with the Nordic Track. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU FOR YOUR INPUT I TRULY APPRECIATE IT!!!!
Happy Halloween!!!
