I love hearing what everybody else is reading. So....where's your bookmark these days?

Saturday I started, and last night I FINISHED, The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger. LOVED IT! I was a bit worried after reading a brief synopsis of the book, but this was awesome. I simply couldn't put it down. Literally read it from Saturday at noon till midnight last night!

What's next? Since I finished Sue Grafton's alphabet series already, I've moved onto Janet Evanovich's number series. So I think today I'll hit the library and pick up her Two For The Dough.

Finished Patterson's "Mary Mary" and just started on Grafton's "S is for Silence." I haven't read any of Evanovich's books. Are they as good as Grafton's? Do you have to start at the beginning of the series?

I read "The Time Traveler's Wife" about a year ago. I liked it very much, too.

I'm still reading "On Agate Hill," by Lee Smith. I picked up "Tortilla Flats," by Steinbeck yesterday and will probably finish that this week...very short and, so far, pretty funny.

OH! Some good suggestions!

MissL- One for the Money was my first Evanovich book. I found myself comparing Stephanie Plum (the main character) to Kinsey Milhone! LOL. BUT......I have to say that I liked the first book. I'm picking up the next one today. I think the JE series is just like the SG series...you don't have to read them in order!

I am reading 'The Known World" by Edward P. Jones. The last novel I read was 'The Time Traveler's wife' and I also was totally caught up in it!

I would also love to hear what others are reading. My goal is 50 books in 2007.

I just finished Janet Evanovich's Three to get Deadly. I am slowly starting to really love the Stephanie Plum books. Honestly, I read the first one and didn't know what the fuss was. But the next two were really good.

Now I am reading The Memory Keeper's Daughter.

I just finished Not Me by Michael Laugin(sp?) and am starting The Mephisto Club by Tess Gerrritsen.
I love Stephanie Plum!!!If you like her, Myron Bolton is the male version of her: Harlan Coben is the author of those books.(And you don't have to read them in order)

Love the thread!!

I just started reading The Little Friend by Donna Tartt.

I love the Stephanie Plum books. Do you notice that she talks about food all the time? I get so hungry when I read her books!

Sounds like a bunch of us want to hear what others are reading. If I can remember, I'll try to ask once a week WHERE IS YOUR BOOKMARK?

Jane-Yes, Plum talks about food all the time! When I was reading Grafton's series, Kinsey kept talking about those PB and Pickle sandwiches. I may have to try one soon! LOL

Deanie-thanks for adding another series to my list of things to read! LOL

KEEP READING EVERYBODY!

I'm reading the most recent Harry Potter. I know it's been out for a while, but I was waiting until it came out in paperback in French, which is how I am reading it. I'm only about 1/6 of the way through, because I can only read about a chapter at bedtime before dozing off!

I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED "The Time Traveler's Wife"!!! Probably one of my top ten books of all time! Anyway..I am currently reading "The Thirteenth Tale" which I am also really liking. It is a mystery/ ghost story. I liked the Memory Keeper's Daughter too. My favorite book of all time it "The Prince of Tides"...if you saw the movie...you still need to read the book...which was much better!

While it's not my favorite book, I read "The Prince of Tides" a few years ago and enjoyed it very much. And, you're right, the movie was not even close to being as being as good as the book! Barbra really messed that one up, in acting and directing. I was going to say in casting, too, because neither she nor Nick Nolte suited the characters,IMO, but,the supporting cast was great!
