Book - Taking Charge of Your Fertility

FiddleFit

Cathlete
Well!! TCYF was delivered to my door 90 minutes ago, and I've only forced myself to put it down now, because I wanted to go check my cervix. All I can say is.....coooooool!! I was familiar with the process of temperature taking, and monitoring cervical fluid (was actually taught about these in a Catholic high school of all places!), but had never heard about cervical changes throughout the cycle. Probably because all the teachers didn't want all us school girls attempting such intimate physical feats! Anyway, I was a bit trepidatious at first, wondering what in the world I would actually find in there........Turns out, it was exactly like the book said! I am so extremely excited right now; I feel like I have gained a great deal of understanding and control that will take most of the stress, confusion and impatience out of trying to conceive, and ultimately in understanding my body in general. This is basic stuff that every girl should be taught.

Thanks for those who recommended the book. If I get any work done in the next few days, it will be a miracle.

BTW, I also bought a book called "What Einstein Told His Cook", which is about the everyday science of cooking. Is it strange that I will keep this book in with the bathroom reading material, and the TCYF book in the kithen, in my pile of books-on-the-go?

Take care,
Sandra

I am glad you found the book helpful. Actually, the Catholic schools do a much nbetter job of sex ed from a anatomy and physiology standpoint but, understandable, avoid artificial contraception and STI prevention. I remeber sex ed took place in 5th grade in the public school... girls in one room... boys in another... I learned about my period (already knew this because I had great parents). I attended a Catholic school 6-8th grades... in 6th grade we had a sex ed every Friday for 6 weeks... much more thourogh.

There are women and couple that use Mucus only or Temp only, but IMO the best option when using NFP or Fertility Awareness Method (FAM) is combining all the signs of fertility... it is like clues putting all the clues together.

Don't you think this book should be the required text for a sex ed class? I really believe this.

Enjoy your reading!ANd gtod luck! n :)
