bodybar

Hi everyone,

this is my first time writing to the forum so I'm hoping all of you can help me. I've been doing some of Cathe's tapes but would like to start on the PS Series. I've read in past posts that a bodybar(or something similar) is needed and was wondering where some of you got yours. I'd like to find the best price and don't have time to drive all around town to different fitness stores. All your help is truly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Trina!

I bought a BodyBar for myself some years ago and spent $54.00 plus S/H!! This past week I just got one for my daughter for her birthday from our Fitness Wholesale for $33.00. I did not have to pay S/H because I went and picked it up. Do you have a FW nearby? If not, their web site is www.fwonline.com or their tele.# is 1-800-FW-ORDER (1-800-396-7337) Good luck-hope this helps. Oh yes, by the way, that price is for the 18 pound BodyBar.

One More thing Trina!

I just went ahead and got an 18 lb. Body Bar because I figured I could take breaks, rather then start with a light one and have to buy again, but just in case you want to start with a lower weight, the prices are: 9lb-$24.00, 12lb.- $27.00, 15lb.-$30.00. I think the 18lb. for $33.00 is your best buy. Let me know what you decide!

Hi, Trina,

It looks like Debbie has given you some good info re: bodybars. I just wanted to add that if you don't want to get the bodybar right away, it is easy to do the PS tapes without it. It is basically used in the Strong Legs and Abs tape to provide resistance during the floorwork, for a warmup set of plie squats, and for support during the calf raises. You can substitute ankle weights (or no weights) in the floorwork, hand weights or an unloaded barbell on your shoulders for the plie squats, and use a dowel or broom handle during the calf raises (I just put my step near my bureau and place my hands on top to balance). So I would encourage you to go ahead and try the tapes (which are great!), and then decide whether or not getting the bodybar would increase your enjoyment of them.

great advice!

thank you both audrey and debbie. I think I will try the tapes without the bar first since I have ankle weights as well as handweights. But I'll also definitely look into Fitness Wholesale online since I'm pretty sure we don't have one around here. Play It Again Sports is probably the closest thing. Thanks again for the information. It is truly appreciated.
