I can't believe it - I am starting the check-in! Lori, I hope you haven't given up on the rest of us!!

Well, I feel pretty good today - I'm planning to do my total body workout today (Power Hour, I think). I really like doing one total body day at least every other week. I did Legs 'n Glutes Friday, and yesterday was KPC cardio conditioning plus abs. Saturday we went to a wedding, so that was my day off!

I got my official BFL Challenge packet finally and I need to get "Officially started"! IF my DH ever gets home early enough to take my "Before" pictures. I've been working out pretty consistently for over a month now, and I told him that by the time he takes my pics, the challenge will be over!!

I was thinking of throwing in Slow and Heavy starting next week, since I've done Pyramids for 4 weeks now. Colleen, didn't you say you did that before? Or maybe it was after 6 weeks of Pyramids...
I'll have to look back through the posts.

Lori, question about the BFL run: I have the book on tape, not the BFL book so I don't have this info. My husband wants to start running again, and I though he might do well to try it. Is it on the BFL website, or could someone post it here?

OK - the last thing, I'm heading to the grocery store today. Do any of you find it EASIER to go more than once a week to the store? I find that when I buy everything at the beginning of the week, I do worse planning. (I'm a real procrastinator, so I tend to fly by the seat of my pants, ya know?)

Well, hope everyone had a good week-end.

Oh Dear! Lori had a bad weekend!
I ate choc till it came out of my ears.Yesterday wasn't to bad but I could have stopped picking in the night time.So far today I have had a bowl of cereal b/c guess who didn't have any eggs or cottage cheese for breakfast?
So no, I haven't given up.I just need to get to the grocery store and plan my meals for this week.
DH surprised me with a trip to Cuba in 3 weeks. He didn't book it yet b/c he knew my schedule could be a little crazy.SO now I am waiting for a girl at work to get back to me about her trip (refer to what would you do question)If she doesn't have something booked by tomorrow,I am going ahead and booking mine.So I have to atleast feel good about myself in 3 weeks:)
The BFL run is 2 min at a level 5 pace (warm up)
1 min at level 6
1 min at level 7
l min at level 8
1 min at level 9
Then go back to level 6 again repeat 3 times and at min 19 run at a level 10.Give it all you have, and the last minute walk at a level 5 again. Its a great way to get your endurance up.Hope this made sense.
I am going to do a cardio now and then legs and glutes. I spent all morning cleaning my house...thank God thats done!
Have a good one,
Lori:)

Hi Lori,

Thanks for the breakdown of the run, I think my DH might really like to try it. I read your What Would You do post, and I think you're being VERY nice to wait another day to book your trip!! I hope that works out for you. Since I notice you are home now, do you work a later shift? I am a SAHM (that was my post here last week) and I still find it difficult to get my meals planned, fit in workouts, etc.
I can appreciate having to work, because I did that until my daughter was 6 months old. I give you all the credit for staying so positive and keeping at it. I'm off to do Power Hour now (unless I change my mind and do Pyramids Upper/Lower Premix -which I'm leaning towards now that I thought of it!!)

Yeah,I think I may be being to nice.I have gotten a little advice here and there,Im getting the impression that I should have just taken it.Sometimes keeping others in mind don't get you anywhere, and I can HONESTLY say that I don't think the favor would have ever been returned.
I did Legs and Glutes.I think that one is a cardio workout in itself.I may get time for a cardio workout later but I have to go into work for a couple of hours.(not scheduled) I have to work 12 hours on Wed and Thurs. Not sure how I will fit my workouts in then!
Anyway,I will check back later,
Lori

Hi eveyone-
I had my cheat day yesterday, and let me tell you it was a MAJOR cheat day! I couldn't stop! I started the day with a huge stack of blueberry pancakes, then went home and had 5 girlscout cookies, then had a big ol bowl of pasta for lunch, followed up with cake and ice cream for my sisters b0day, then had 2 milky way eggs (easter candy). I actually wanted to cry thinking about all I ate and if it would destroy all my hard work the week before, but I guess that's what cheat days are for? I don't know - tell me it's ok! : )

Today I'll do legs- maybe slow and heavy this week - I think. I gotta check my scedule to see if i'm still in the pyramids.

Well, I've done horribly since Friday. Friday I spent my whole day running errands and cleaning my house and met my DH for lunch at Fazoli's. This weekend was so busy for me that I could not eat my BFL meals and fit in any workouts. However, I'm sure I got enough exercise. My husband and I spent the whole weekend building our 10'x14' shed. It is about 90% complete, but I am so sunburned and exhausted. We took very few breaks except to grab a quick drink and a sandwich. The worst part is that I did not grab water to drink but soft drink so now I feel like I will be having soda withdrawl once I can get the stuff out of our house. Today is a total bust for me as well. I have no energy and have been to the vending machine twice today already. I think today can officially be called my free day since I was more controlled during the weekend and at least got some exercise. Tonight I plan to get my meals in order and get a good nights sleep and begin anew tomorrow.

Thanks Gemini Girl for those kind words!! That was exactly what I needed to hear. I feel like a big Loser. This has got to get easier over time. Not to say that it is a hard plan because in reality it is pretty simple and straight forward if planned ahead. Maybe once I start seeing some big results then I will be more motivated and rejuvenated. On May 1st I will be taking my measurements again to see if anything has changed. Tomorrow will definitely be a new day for me since I really would like to lose these last 10 pounds and be ready for bathing suit season.

On a brighter note, I do have some good news to report. I have lost 2 pounds according to my scale. It is probably just water weight but I'll take what I can get. This week I need to up my veggies and water intake. I think I am dehydrated from this past weekend and that is creating this feeling of no energy and a craving for sweets. I'll be drinking water tonight to try to remedy this situation. Has anyone else seen any results yet?

Have a great day!
Kristi

Kristi-
I too need to lose those last 10 pounds. 1 1/2 years ago I got married and was at the skinniest I've ever been (between 118-120) and since then I've put on 10 pounds and I am miserable! I have worked very hard to lose it, and nothin! A few weeks ago, I was super strict with what I ate and I weighed myself and GAINED 2 pounds!! I was so pissed! So, hopefully, with the BFL program, I will eat more regularly, and get my motabolism back on track and not eat the crap I've allowed myself in the past.

It was funny to read what you said about the BFL is simple and straight forward and I think that all the time, and it's NOT! I mean, it IS hard work to stay with it! That's why I've attempted it 2x before and never completed it, because its not easy to disipline yourself. You are not a loser - you had a craving and gave into it, like all of us! Just don't get down on yourself and say you arent' seeing results yet. I haven't either, but it is week 2, and from what someone on the board said, it takes up to week 6. So, when week 6 comes around then we can say how much better we feel and look! It's not that far away!
