BMR/Calorie question?

While on vacation, I had my BMR checked and it was 1687 (which I thought was quite high). I am 29, 154 lbs and 5'5". I exercise using Cathe six days a week.

I am trying to lose the extra fat around my muscles but it just won't go anywhere. I normally eat b/w 1600 - 1800 calories a day. Should I lower my Calorie intake even though my BMR is in the 1600's. Also have any of you ever heard of detoxing the body? Someone was talking about it while I was on vacation and they said that because my body fat wasn't excessively high (23%).

Exercise is no problem for me. I love the way it makes me feel; both physically and emotionally. Eating is my biggest problem and is the most important when it comes to weight loss.

Let me know what you all think. I really need some help in this area.

Wow - that is high! Mine was only 940. I'm no expert but I find that the only effective way for me to get rid of stubborn body fat is to calorie interval. I don't spend too much time counting cals but occasionally I will take in a lot less cals (as low as 1000 but only for a short while) and sometimes a lot more than usual. I don't think it does any harm if you take your cals low occasionally on an inactive day but the important thing is to not do it for too long. I have noticed that I have a body that plateaus very easily when I count cals meticulously or eat the same kind of foods week after week. A more intuitive approach with cals has worked better. Good luck.
