Black Friday PEEPS

Are you all out shopping? There's no thread yet? Or maybe I missed it.

Started today with B&G and then went to a Lord of the Rings marathon: all 3 extended versions! DD was worn out from all the fun yesterday, so she and I left early. :( We have other friends who are doing the same thing at Christmas, so I'll catch them the second time around.

DH and I LOVE Lord of the Rings. We've read the books out loud to each other, and we've seen the extended versions so many times I can count any more. We've also watched ALL the bonus material . . . TWICE. We also have the one existing audio version that is unabridged and have listened to it together. Please don't say we're geeks! ;) We just love these stories. They are EPIC.

There are no stores for me to go to, so shopping today was not an option. Hope you're all having a fun day.

Hi, fellow Peeps..

DW is at the mall with her cousin, I am safely tucked away at home with plans later for Muscle Max.

I'll check back in later after my workout.

NO black friday shopping for me!

I'm staying as far away from the malls and stores as humanly possible today! DH and I may hit the theater later this afternoon for the new Bond movie, but that's about as far as I care to venture! We are hoping that the theater will be empty and all the masses will be in shopping!

no workout yet, but do plan on doing the friday November Cathe rotation workout, which I believe is one of the GS UB workouts, not sure which one.. although since I didn't manage to get in much of a workout yesterday, I may try another premix of my new KM workout!

Laura: Very impressed with your from scratch T-day dinner! WOW! I'm sure you guys enjoyed every morsel! I'm with you on LOR series! I really loved them as well... haven't seen them all in awhile, so might have to try a marathon as well in the near future... and I do not consider you or your DH as geeks! :) I think it's cool that you can share that together! I only wish DH and I could manage something like that... we have such different tastes in music, cooking, etc, sometimes I wonder why we work so well together, as we are such polar opposites! Who am I to question, it just works! :) I remember when I was in High School, we had a friday morning tradition with our youth group that we would get together before school, have pancakes and stuff, and then for 30 minutes our leader would read to us all from the Narnia series and we all LOVED it!

Jerry: good for you on MM and staying far away from the malls today! Enjoy your day!

Hi to all Peeps who follow!

Hey Peeps~

No shopping for me today. Unfortunately, I came down with the flu last night, lost my dinner:( (sorry TMI) and am fighting a headache that won't go away. It's after noon and I'm still in my jammies sipping some hot green tea, wrapped in an electric blanket, and reading:eek: I was planning on putting up the Xmas tree but it will have to wait.

Laura~ I really enjoyed the Lord of the Rings series. I read all the books first then went to see the movies. YOU AND DH ARE NOT GEEKS!;) I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Is the rooster still around?

Jerry~ Your DW must be a brave woman to go shopping today. I also prefer to be tucked safely and securely at home during the frenzy:confused: Have fun with MM today.

Dani~ Let me know what you think of the new Bond movie. I'm in the minority here in that I'm not a Daniel Craig fan. I actually turned off Casino Royale halfway thru:eek:

Karin~ Yes..we hope to go to Germany but we haven't decided when or where yet. DD is in her 4th year of German and is taking a U of M college course thru her high school. DS took 3 years and is hoping to get into a study abroad program in germany next spring. Both kids want to go so we are starting to look into it. Have you been there? Any suggestions? My parents have been there twice back in the 70's but I'm going into this kinda blind. I might talk to DD's teacher since she has been there many times.

Waves HI to all the peeps who check in later:D

Hi JJ:

actually I have not been a Bond fan since Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan... so I tolerate Daniel Craig, but do not think he's quite the cat's meow that others on this forum do... So, I am more going because it's the only way to get DH to go to a movie with me... it was actually at his suggestion so I am more inclined to 'hold it against him' at another time, meaning that I went to this with him, so he can go to something I want to see later ;) that's my evil master plan anyway... it rarely works out that way though! He's pretty stubborn! lol!

I'll check back with a report though... but most of the time it's more the time spent together than what we are doing/watching!

Dani~ LOL at your evil master plan!! Let me know how that works out for ya;)

I read about your iPod trouble in OD. Bummer! I was going to respond that there is a way to move music to a new computer using your iPod but I think you still need to have your library accessible on the old computer. Maybe Vrinda will see your post and respond. She's very knowledgeable with techie things.

Hi Peeps,

I was out late last night for turkey day with my family, then up early and out for a get together with my cousins and aunts etc. Just getting home now and have to go out tonight to see friends who are in town for the first time since last Thanksgiving. Aren't I just the party animal???
And tomorrow night is my 25th HS reunion. I am exhausted.
The only workout I can fit in will be a premix tomorrow am before I go.
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and are enjoying the long weekend.

Guten Tag, Peepers!

Today it is chilly and rainy in the Dallas area. Our trees are now in fall colors, and against the gray sky, it's beautiful. (Not Minnesota/Pennsylvania kind of beautiful, but good enough for Dallas beautifull! LOL!)I'm getting ready to take a nap now, but I'm still fighting congestion/tiredness. I did Basic Step this morning and I was very thankful for Cathe putting out a beginner DVD!! I got through it but had to fight the urge to quit and lay on the couch instead...

Still working my way through leftovers. For sure, the biggest successes were pumpkin, pecan and sweet potato pies. I have been treating myself on and off all day!! You know, just a sliver here, a forkful there. I WILL GAIN 10 POUNDS IF I DO NOT STOP THIS MADNESS. We did take Houdini for a stroll around the outdoor mall for some fresh air, and bought a few candles at WIK and that was about it. Christmas shopping will all be done via cyberspace for sure, as I just don't have it in me to fight crowds. UGH.

Karin--Apple pie is challenging because of all the prep. Pecan is super easy and few ingredients. I use the Paula Deen recipe from the Lady & Sons cookbook, if you want it, let me know and I'll send it to you. How did you enjoy your evening out? I'm so like you--I'm happy to be at home and read, or watch sports/Top Chef/ect. but I bet once you got there, you were glad to go out, right? Hope you had a good time and the pie was a hit!

JJ--Oh, no, the flu on Thanksgiving! UGH! How are you feeling today? I hope you are getting lots of rest and water and will feel better soon.

Dani--Did you make it to the movie?

Jerry-Enjoy MM!!

Ellie--Your weekend is insane!! What are you wearing to the reunion?????

Laura--I'm with Dani, that's amazing how much food you have to prepare from scratch. I consider myself one who loves to cook and even for me, that's a LOT of cooking!! I bet your dinner was amazing, though!!

:) Wendy
