Big Love to the ::: CHEETAHS ::: V'Day

Hey.... right back at ya Cathy dahling!!! Nothin but love for all the fabulous cheetahs:* :* :*

Well, my relocation plans have changed yet again!! I found out that NJ is probably the toughest state to get a nursing license. The application is 17 pages long!!! I was told by a travelling agency that it isn't unusual for them to take up to a year to approve one also. Plus it will cost with various fees more than $300.00. Not worth it for something that will be only temporary! No wonder they're hurting for nurses there! Anyway, Plan B.... or is it D or E by now? I have applications in for Maryland and Pa, both of which are reasonable.... not like NJ. As soon as they come thru DH and I will pack and move. I will sign on with a registry and have them put me up in an apt--- it's all paid for. DH will live in NJ with the "kids" (dogs and kitties) We will meet on my days off for househunting. Not sure where specifically I'll end up during this period. Philadelphia would be my preference but we'll see.

Christine- I will likely still be working nites since that is usually what is in more demand... and it pays more too. Glad to here that Jimmy is doing better! I can see you now running the trails with him and your blue merle girl!!

Kristi- I think your supermom title is VERY appropriate!!! I wasn't able to do that HM cuz yours truly forgot to register on time and they didn't allow on site registration x( I'm holding off now on my marathon training with all the moving preparation.... just too much even for crazy old me! Glad to hear your DS is okay now. That's a great set up you have where you can take those nice long lunch breaks and get in your workout!

For today I'll get in a 5 mile run, will probably have to go with the TM today... forecast is for snow and wind. Will also be doing LIC upperbody circuit.

I'll try to check back in later.

no, i never made it back here for personals. it was such a busy day but i got a lot done.

i am kind of rushing around debating what my w/o will be. i am really sore in my quads for some reason. i am not feeling much motivation so maybe i should just take a rest day? i still have some time to decide...no early meeting...so, we'll see.

anyway, kishies and hugs to all you wonderful cheetahs! happy valentine's day!!!

Happy V-day chickies!!

cathy- so when are you going to give IC#2 a whirl? thanks for the sentiments yesterday!!

shelly- oh no, sorry about the change in the relocation plans yet again. i know you will make it happen. no, this will be my first time going to palm springs. you might have been thinking about the trip we took in april. i am very excited!!

wendy- glad the crud is gone and you were able to work out. you know call me indecisive cheetah #2, it is definitely the pisces in me. when i am doing one thing i want to do another. last night i was trying to figure out how i can add in UBX+ into my current rotation, lol.

christine- how is mr. jimmy doing today? better i hope. i have 4 KB's . 12#, 15#, 20# and 26#. next on the list is a 35# and i will be set for a long time.

lorie- report back later on your workout young lady:7

dallas- have you started studying yet for your pt exam??!! are you excited? i love the TT workouts!! they are great for us short on time mothers:D

carole- does your mil live in palm springs? you REALLY don't want me to say hi do ya? lol

kristi- after i thought about last night. i had ds#1 write out his own v-cards. he is reading and writing and he had so much fun doing them, so i only had to do the ones for ds#2. how nice of your company to give you flex time!

lorr- this is actually the worst winter we've had since i've moved to nc. it snowed last night about 1-2 inches. totally surprised they didn't shut everything down like they usually do when one snowflake falls, lol.

judy- yes, it will be just dh and I!! wooohooo!!! my mil is staying at our house with the kids. when is your vacation again?

you know how i wind up changing my workouts thruout the day but tonight's plan is the 4DSkb/BC premix. i'll keep you posted;)

ttyl...:)

Good Morning Cheetahs!

Happy V-DAY! Anyone have any plans? None here, working again tonightx( Oh well, last yr b/c I was bf'ing we didn't celebrate vday until April! LOL

I don't have time for personnals b/c I am on my way home. Just wanted to say that todays workout is suppose to be a long run but I don't know what will happen. We will see how my right knee feels. If it feels funny again I may have to do a short run and the rest of Imax 3. I am some nice DOMS from yesterdays workout.

I will be back after I wake from my nap:)

Lori:)

jackie- no fun for me doing the V-day cards. however it's all good. gotta do what you gotta do as a parent.:) good job sticking with the X!!

lori- no real plans for tonight. we will probably just take the kids out for dinner. me and dh will start our v-day celebration tomorrow on the plane!!!:D

Happy heart Day to all our Cheetahs!

Shelly- (((hugs))) More changes?! This latest plan sounds doable, but I hope you and DH (and canine/feline clan)) do not have to be separated for long. Philli would be a nice place to work temporarily. At least you will be in the same state as your permanent location.

Dallas- I do not have a definite plan for my recovery week, but in my mind I see yoga and core work and low key cardio like maybe just walking or easy paced short runs (3 miles or so) I think I may get a massage also, since DH gave me a certificate for one for "V" day.

Sunny- You have quite a selection of those kettle balls. DS uses them every week at his sessions. We vacation in March this year. Enjoy every minute of yours !

Lori- How is your knee? If my knee hurt I would not do any Imax.

We are going to a fund raiser for DS's school this evening, but it will have decent wine, Hors'dourves and good company. (Gotta love private schools, the fund raisers all have alcohol so they get you to open your wallet)

OOps...outta time hope to BBL

Happy Valentines Day Cheetahs!

DH is home sick. The bug I had apparently got him but not only is he running a fever, he has a stomch thing going on too. UGH! He was up most of the night. :-( All I can say is if he is still sick so that we can't go skiing on saturday I just may have to pummle him!}( It WOULD be my luck to get this close and then have to cancel the trip.x( I guess we just have to wait it out and see. In the mean time he had better keep his germies to himself! :p

So Beach Body is releasing Tony's 10 minute work out series! I just got an email today that coaches can buy it starting NOW! I'm gonna hafta go for it just cause it's Tony and you know how much I adore him!}( I think it'll be handy to have around anyway!:)

Cathy: Happy to hear that the boards are pretty much ready to go so you can start right away once all all of your ducks are in a row. I hope it's a success! :) 4am!? Bless you! I could NEVER do that! Good job!

Shelly: How cool that the tri-state area Cheetahs are gonna have you close by!!! We are all gonna have to make a SERIOUS effort to GTG once you get here girl! That is sooooo awesome!:) It's a little bit of a bummer that you and DH must be separated for a while when you first get out here but it's a really smart move. It will make house-hunting MUCH easier! I know you have a lot of hard work ahead of you getting ready for and going through with the move. Sending <<<Smooth moving>>> vibes your way! :)

Lorie: To rest or not to rest. That is the question!....So what's the answer? :p

Sunny: I love not being the only indecisive cheetah around here. This way I'm not the only one getting picked on for it!:p :7 So when the time comes, do you think we'll be able to BOTH stick to a NROL4W rotation together??? }(

Lori: Oh yeah, IMAX3 sounds like the PERFECT solution for a funny knee! :p :7 Seriously though, I hope it feels better and you got the long run in that you wanted.

Today's work out for me is a run and some yoga.

BBL!

Good morning Cheetahs! Happy Valentine's Day!! When I let the dogs out at 1:30 a.m. I put out the kids and DH valentine's presents. DH acted all surprised and upset since he didn't buy me anything. We don't really celebrate Valentine's Day, but I wanted to get him a little something. Well, when I went to warm up the car he had a present for me and the kids on our seats. My present is a device that I can plug my mp3 players into the and play it on the radio. Sorry I didn't get to see the official name of the thing. Too busy because the kids and I were running late.

Would you all like to hear what a klutz I am? Yesterday when I did GS Legs I had a couple sets of dumbbells lying to the side of my high step. After doing my second set of leg presses I came down on the side a little bit, lost my balance, and my butt and left hand fell onto one of the dumbbells. I have a huge bruise the size of a baseball on my butt and a bruise on the palm of my left hand. I'm sure it would have been a comical sight.

Today will be a short 3 mile hill run on the treadmill during lunch. Last night I was really tired and went to bed a little early. So I nixed my run. I will be making it up today though, which was going to be my rest day.

Shelly - I'm sorry you will have to be temporarily separated on your move while looking for a house. However, it is a good choice so you won't have to go through all of that red tape with NJ. It is crazy that it takes that long to process the book application.

I hope to BBL. WAVES to all my cheetahs!

Happy Valentine’s Day to my favorite bunch of Cats!!! :p

Today will be a Spinervals. I had DD15’s BF fix my bike (nice to have him around – a free bike mechanic), so I’m all set. I’m looking forward to it. Not sure which one yet, though. Anyone have big plans for tonight? I’m meeting DH for lunch, then we’re going to make a special dinner at home. We’re going out with friends tomorrow night to an expensive restaurant, and did not feel like going out twice in a row and fighting the crowds. Jimmy is back to normal, so that’s a relief. Never did find out what got him, though!

Cathy – I’m looking forward to the weekend, thanks! I agree with the “smart boss” remark. The company really does treat the employees well. I liked PH abs – instead of the bicycles, I took a weight and did the side-to-sides. But I did do the crunches – those were fun is a little tricky and tough! Nice workout today! Good job at getting ‘em in in the AM! You should be darned proud of yourself!

Dallas – Glad it wasn’t too bad yesterday. I remember when I lived in North West Ohio when temps were -22 for about a week. When we hit 10 degrees, people were walking around with jackets open, enjoy the “warm” sunshine. Truly all things are relative. :+ I LOVE new shoes! They make me want to run! No, not everyone does know how to drive in the snow, some are just idiots no matter what you do, but more do than they do here :p

Shelly – Oh that’s HORRIBLE about New Jersey and getting a nursing license! Especially when nurses are so hard to find now! I hope you find a house soon! I understand the need and sometimes you just have to do what you have to do, but it’s sad that you cannot be with DH and the furkids! Philly is a nice area – the people are friendly and I love the city as it’s easy to get around – and there’s the nice run along the river – but hopefully you won’t be there long enough to run in the summer there! I hope whatever works best for all of you happens! Maybe you’ll stumble on the perfect house while you’re not expecting it.

Lori – Yeah! No early meeting today! If you’re not motivated, take a rest day – although sometimes I’m not motivated and by the time I get 5 minutes into the workout, I’m feeling great and raring to go!

Sunny – what do you do when you need two KB’s? I find most of the time when I would need two, they could be two different weights, so maybe that would be okay. I may hit Target tomorrow and pick up 2 more. So when you get the latest, let me know which is your favorite. With DH gone for 3 weeks, I see major shopping in my future. :p Yes, Mr. Jimdog is doing very well – still snuggly, but he’s always been a snuggler, but I’m so happy he’s better! Thanks! Enjoy your workout!

Lori – oh I hope your knee feels better soon! Just take care of it! I’m feeling DOMs in my upper chest from Slo Mo – it always gets me good. My plans are above – but nothing special. Sorry to hear you’re working, though! Celebrate big this weekend without the crowds!

Judy – Funny, my sister lives in England and all of the school events have “beer tents” which bring in the most money. They are too funny. Interesting night for an event, but sounds like fun. We usually spend Valentine’s Day with friends anyway. More fun that way! Enjoy!

Wendy – oh man, so sorry to hear about DH! I hope it’s a quick bug and you can go skiing! I’m excited to hear about the 10 minute workouts from Tony!

Kristi – Oh that was sweet of DH! What a nice practical, yet loving gift! Oh man, so sorry about your bruised bum! That sounds like something I would do! Enjoy your run!

Last night was interesting because we had gusts of winds that woke me up because they sounded like the start of an earthquake! I kept expecting the house to start shaking, but the windows only rattled. Glad I got my run in yesterday! Hope it’s nice tomorrow for my run! Enjoy all!

well, i have to thank sunny because after seeing her post about reporting on my w/o, i found the motivation to workout. i only had an hour, so i did CC 1 and 2 on the EXT. anyway, thanks sunny!

well, a kid just walked into my office for testing. hope to bbl!

Good morning cheetahs

http://images.deepbox.com/media/i/katcDgGFypwraGC.gif[/img]

Cathy...thanks for your prayers for John and his family. I am hoping the counseling helps. I could not believe My DH told me I must have an unhealthy system because of all the gas and I just glared at him...ME, unhealthy!!! I had to laugh. Good job with 4DSKB and your EXT workout.

Shelly...sorry about all the moving issues! That is bizarre that NJ has such different nursing rules and expenses!! I can imagine parts of Arizona are attractive for the retiree's. I do hope your east coast position will be somewhat different and not as stressful (if that is at all possible!). Enjoy your run and LIC uper.

Sunny...my MIL lives in PS and my BIL lives in Palm Dessert. I am sure they would wave back...:)..LOL. Enjoy your premix today.

Lori..I doubt your problem is menopause and it is probably not mine either as I am not quite there yet!! I just enjoy getting back at DH as he has had the gassy problem forever!! Good workout yesterday. No VD plans for me as I work late. But I did get DH a present..

Wendy..sounds like your workout wore you out yesterday! Sorry DH got the bug. I don't like it much when my DH is home sick unless I am at work...:D..enjoy your run and yoga.

Kristi...sorry about the fall on the dumbell!! Enjoy your run today.

Christine...so glad to hear Jimmy is back to his Perky self. You can use the Quorn products for protein as they contain no soy. Also a protein called Seitan which is made from wheat gluten (I have a stroganoff recipe for seitan that I love) it is also soyless. I don't care much for any of the soy meat subs. I eat Boca burgers once in a awhile, but mostly the Quorn, seitan and tofu for protein. Have fun spinning. Sounds like a nice V-Day lunch and dinner with DH.

Jackie...The DOMS was better yesterday and it is also today. Still a bit in my inner thighs. I liked the way you subbed PLB for P90X legs and still did the chin-up's and pull-ups.

Judy...I got the DOMS from B&G standing monday. I even backed down some on the weight amount but OUCHIES!!! Thanks for your thoughts on John...I have no doubt that most paraplegics go thru this and it does take some time. I think the counseling should help. You are so right, those outer leg lifts in PLB are tough.

Dallas...good job on the stair workout. I get a vanilla whey protein powder and yes, it is good.

Today will be L&G standing, abs, a run and GS C&T.

Have a great day...:)

Peeking for a minute...post workout. Core Synergy has been attempted for the first time. Ok, I do not have the most stable core around. I was actually shaking in some of the exercises. CS is a good challenge in a different way.

Cathy- Way to go on getting that workout in before work!

Carole- have fun with L&G standing and GS oh and the run. Whew! you are gonna be busy :) ... Would you like to share your Stoganoff recipe?

Wendy- sorry about the the crud sticking around with your family! I hope everyone feels better soon, so you can really enjoy that ski weekend!

Kristi- ouch! that must have hurt! At least you have strong bones and only have a bruise.

Lorie – YEAH – glad you found the motivation to workout!

Carole – thanks for the heads up on the Quorn and Seitan products. I’ll definitely get some of those!

Judy – CS is a killer workout and I laugh at myself every time I do it because for some reason I think it’s going to be easy! Boy do I get a comeuppance! :p I like the functional fitness aspect of it.

Well, my bike is still not fixed. Guess I need to get the bike mechanic who hangs around with DD15 to fix it right! :p Instead I pulled out LIC and did the cardio only premix on the BOSU (FUN!) and then did the SJP step portion on the BOSU (tougher to do – have to figure out how to do an “on the step” six count mambo on the BOSU – any ideas?). I followed it with portions of Stretch X (thanks for the idea Judy!). I feel refreshed and ready to face the chocolate of the day. :p

Good morning Cheetahs and Happy Valentine's Day!

Shelly - Think you're making a wise decision concerning the move. I can just imagine how hard it is to house hunt long distance. Sorry to hear there's yet another change in plans. I'm so excited for you. Hope everything works out for you and DH. My Saturday run probably won't be longer than 6 miles. Just not ready to push myself until I decide on a race.

Christine - The new running shoes sound like they have some magical powers. :) Glad you're enjoying them. That's great that Jimmy is back to normal. Have a great workout!

Lori - Nice workout yesterday. Did you burn that fullness off? Congratulations on meeting your 2 lb. weight goal for the week. My favorite exercise to hate is leg presses. Just really, really hate them. Guess that could mean they're good for me. x( Hope the knee is ok for your run.

Dallas - So glad the weather wasn't so bad yesterday. It was cold here. I'm a weenie in cold weather. Great job on the stairs.

Kristi - Sounds like a good workout with shoveling snow. Glad you were able to get a jump on your everning. Did you get your run in? How sweet of DH to surprise you with a gift. Sorry about your mishap yesterday. Glad it wasn't any worse.

Wendy - Does the Ab Wheel give you major DOMS? Doing Amy's Slo Mo ab work gives me DOMS and I figured it was from rolling with that barbell. Hope DH feels better. Lot of this crud going around. Interested in how you like Tony's 10 minute workouts.

Cathy - What I Want Fitness are downloadable videos from Zencast tv. It came with my Zen. I download them to my Zen and use the adaptor for the tv and play them back. I only have a few because it takes so long to download the things. Workout go ok for you this morning?

Lorie - Glad you found the motivation to workout!

Sunny - Nothing wrong with the workouts being changed up as long as you can get one in, huh?

Judy - LOL about the fundraiser and alcohol. Maybe you want lose too much.

Carole - I can't believe DH said you could have an unhealthy system either. I'm glad you left him standing though. :) Sounds like a good long workout on tap for you today. Enjoy it.

I did iClimb #13 30 minutes and Rodney Yees Yoga for the Back.

Have a beautiful Valentine's Day ladies.

Jackie

Judy...Core Syn is a tough one, but so good for the core. I shake during some of those exercises too! Here is the recipe:

Wheat Meat Stroganoff

2 T olive oil
12 ounces seitan, cut into 1/2 diced pieces
2 T tomato paste
2 cups vegetable stock
1 large yellow onion, chopped
1 large green bell pepper, seeded and chopped
8 ounces small white mushrooms
2 T unbleached all purpose four
1 and 1/2 T Paprika (I only use 1 T)
salt and freshly ground black pepper
1/2 cup vegan sour cream

Heat 1 T of the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the seitan and brown on all sides, 7 to 8 min.
In a small bowl, combine the tomato paste and 1/4 cup of the stock, blending until smooth. Set aside
Heat the remaining 1 T olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the onion and bell pepper, cover, and cook until softened, about 5 min. Add the mushrooms and cook, uncovered, until the liquid evaporates, about 3 min. Stir in the flour and paprika and cook, stirring for 1 min to remove the raw taste from the flour. Add the tomato paste mixture, stirring until smooth. Stir in the remaining 1 and 3/4 cups stock and bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Season with salt and pepper to taste and simmer until the flavors are blended and the sauce thickens somewhat, about 25 min.
Slowly whisk in the vegan sour cream until well blended. Add the seitan and simmer until heated through, about 5 min. Serve hot over cooked noodles or rice.

Christine..I hope you can get your bike fixed. I do use the Quorn crumbles (like ground beef) a lot in many soup recipes.

Jackie...I could not believe my DH either...silly man!! Good job with the iClimb and yoga.

I had a good run despite the wind!! I seem to be stalling on the rest of my workout...:)...glad I go in to work late!!

Good Afternoon Cheetahs!

I got in 5k with Itread 19/30 mins sprints at the gym this morning. I took the warm up at the high end of the joggers pace but then ran the rest at .3 above the highest joggers pace. Right now I'm headed in for a cat nap and then it'll be yoga time.

BBL!:)

Woo Hoo! Just wanted to check in real quick! Just finished my longest run to date. 12 miles in 122 mins! 2 miles then I have ever went!Of course i was wise and kept it at a steady pace. Increasing my speed each mile then pulling it back again. I knew there was no way I was going to make it 12 miles doing intervals!

Im hoping to get back real soon for personnals, If not, I will be back tonight. I really really need to get a shower!

Lori:)
