Bicep Question

Hey Cathe,

I have tennis elbow and bicep work really bothers it. Can I leave bicep work out and still maintain what I have, or, use really light weights like 8 pounders? In other words, will I lose shape if I cut this out completely? I have never had great biceps anyway!

Thanks...

Hi Anna! If your tennis elbow is at a very advanced stage of inflammation you really should consider physical rehab to get rid of it. A 4 to 6 week program incorporating the following exercises will treat your condition rather effectively. These rehab exercises will work on your forearm development with wrist curls in both directions, also squeezing a puddy ball, also expanding a rubber band with your five fingers inside of the ring of the band, and also very very light bicep curls (like 1, 2, and 3 pounds)with hands in all directions (hammer, traditional, and palms down). I would not advise doing bicep curls at all if even doing curls with this light of a weight hurts.

Once you have recovered, you can slowly ease back into your normal bicep workouts.

Good luck and don't forget to do some ice massage on the hurt spots.
