Good Morning to All!:7

I hope everyone had a good nights rest and is ready for the day.

Today's goal: Do what is best for you what ever that is. Whether it is an upper body day, cardio or yoga for destressing...
JUST DO IT! ;-)

Hey, how many of you preordered the 4-Day Split DVD? I can't wait to get it!

Thanks Jill for the BFL cookbook recommendation I should be getting this today.

Gayle: How did your interview go?

I am going to work on getting in that run at Ravenswood. I need some solitude and the peacefulness of the wild. Maybe I will spot a deer or two but hopefully not a coyotte. Yeah, we have lots here now...that and fishers, red foxes and lots of vulture's and prey birds. Feel like I live in a jungle at times but it is exciting!:7

I will be back later, have a good morning.

Hey, Heidi....enjoy the run today. I LOVE running outside too...just something about nature and all those colors...especially at THIS time of year! ENJOY!

Jen-GREAT JOB on your 5K Sunday! That's great! (and exactly the time I had in my 5K 2 weeks ago, lol). OH...and KUDOS, girl, on avoiding that sugar-laden CAKE disaster! WOO HOO!

Jennifer-I use a Rodney Yee DVD for Power Yoga. I've tried several instructors and several workouts, but something about this ONE really clicked with me. I work up a sweat each and every time I do this. Not to mention the DOMS I get from the bridge/back bend move thingy (never remember the names, lol). As for YOU...hand in here with us. SOmetimes, it just takes a little bit of time, or an event to light that SPARK under our butts. Like Heidi said, DO WHAT'S BEST FOR YOU!!!

Jill-I vote with the other ladies for you to hand here with us! We knew, starting this 12 weeks on Oct 1, that we all were sort of doing our own little version or aspect of BFL. STAY, PLEASE???

OK..as for me...the interview yesterday went as well as I expected. I was nervous, and a bit intimidated by the CERTIFIED teachers that also applied for it, but I did the best I could and if it's meant to be, well then it will happen. If not...NEXT TIME! I really think I came across positive and my love of wokring with the kids showed, so we'll see! Thanks for all the vibes!

Well, after a LATE LATE night with BF, I got up at 5:45 and hit the treadmill for HIIT HARD! Then followed with abs and a stretch.

Gotta scoot to surf a bit, then some house things before work!

MOVE IT, ladies. Keep on moving! Do what works for YOU!

BBL

Gayle

Gayle, I'm glad your interview went well! And thanks for the nice words...I do like this group so I think I'll stick around :) I have that Rodney Yee DVD as well...I love him because he's good and advanced but isn't 'chatty' (I had a Baron Baptiste workout and he wouldn't shut up!).

This morning I am going to do Low Impact Step. I'm still on the learning curve for step workouts and am looking forward to being able to do Low Max. I'll be getting my workout in after DD goes to school.

Heidi, what is Ravenswood? It sounds like a nice place. It was funny, on Saturday when we were up in Rocky Mountain National Park we were driving towards the trailhead and we'd see all sorts of people pulled off on the side of the road looking at the elk. We see them all the time here, even down at the base of the foothills, so we just keep on going. It's like when we were at Yellowstone a few years back with my parents...we'd ask what everyone was looking at and if it was elk, we'd keep driving (they had a ton where they lived, too). LOL But it sounds like a very nice place!

G'Morning Ladies ~

Meals are planned for the day. My normal "oops" in the morning w/ my coffee (NOTE to self; NEED TO STAY AWAY FROM WAWA!) :) I am getting lazy for lunch though, I been buying the Smart Ones. I guess there could be worse things!

Last night was Arms/Abs - BBC. Have slight DOMS this morning, but nothing like the 1st time I did it. Tonight is Legs/Butt BBC. ..I will probably do the cardio at the end also...

I heard so many great things about Yoga. Some get the best results dong this and cardio. Hmmm...maybe something to think about. I will have to ck out the Rodney DVD. I would probably like sticking to a "live" class since this would push me further than me doing home alone.

My BF received a call from someone that needs p/t help on the weekends..(Pizza Shop)Cross your fingers, this could really help us! He's a workaholic and enjoys to work ...

BBL,
Jenn

Good morning! Things are quiet here at work right now, so I can check in early.

Gayle, I'm sure your interview went very well and you'll hear from them soon. There's no doubt that your postive attitude and high energy shine through, and what attributes would make a better teacher? If they pass you over then it's a great loss to them and the kids. I have my fingers crossed for you.

Heidi, Ravenwood sounds gorgeous! Enjoy it now while you can. Snow will be upon us before we know it. x(

Jill, good luck with your chemistry class. Did you say you had a test? I have Baron Baptiste's yoga series but I haven't tried it yet. I wonder if I'll find him too chatty or not. I think part of the reason I couldn't get into yoga is because it was too quiet, so maybe he'll work for me. I also have Bryan Kest's series and I love that one. There's something about that guy...hmmmm.

Jen, I'll keep my fingers crossed for your BF, too. Hope things start to get easier. And I think those frozen meals are a godsend at times. I really don't see anything wrong with them except the sodium. But if you watch our for it the rest of the day, I think its fine.

I put on another pair of pants today that fit better than they have in a long time. I'm so happy about that. Even if it's not a huge change, it's a sign that I'm heading in the right direction, and that is what will keep me motivated! My eating has been clean and my workouts have been consistent, so things are going well. Onward!!!

It sounds like everyone is doing great! Keep up the good work, and have a great day, all.

Jennifer

Hello Jennifer,Jill and Jenn!

Good to hear your all doing well this morning!:) Especially the looser pants thing! Yeah doesn't it feel great to know all your hard work is paying off Jennifer?

Jill: Ravenswood Park is here in MA in the town of Magnolia. It is a beautiful park with loads of trails. Even though I see deer and animals of all sorts in my own backyard I still am awe struck when seeing them. Ok, I am a nature nut! I belong to the Audubon,Wilderness, AT and Rails to Trails Society's along with many others. I love finding new places to hike, bike or run on.
I really like the LIS routine for days after a hard leg workout.

Jenn: Good luck to your BF in his interview for the weekend job.
I did the BBC arms/abs last week and am still feeling it! Why is it that when I do regular Bicep curls it just about kills me? I do the hammer curls and can use heavier weights and it doesn't seem to bother me...I am confused about this. Any idea's?
I agree that Frozen meals can be a life saver when in a hurry...otherwise I might be tempted to eat that whole bag of chips.
;-)

I too have one of Rodney Yee's Tapes. I used the Yoga conditioning for athletes for when I was doing a lot of running years back. I haven't used it since. Maybe I should pull it out this weekend to just get in a different type of stretch.

Well on to work, BBL

Don't get me wrong, I still love seeing the elk, I'm just not going to pull over to watch them ;-) Seriously, though, I love seeing all the different wildlife out here...I can't imagine living in a city where you just don't have it, you know?

By the way, I have the same issues with bicep curls vs hammer curls. It must just be the way the muscle is targeted.

Don't worry... I completely understood. ;-) It is funny from our point of view when seeing people so mystified by nature.
People need to get away from the city and get a fresh look at what will be lost if we keep going the way we are.

This is probably another reason why hikers show off there cans when they see tourists going up mountains by trolley instead of actually climbing it on their own. :7 Love it!

OMG, I am sooooo bored at work right now! I have tons of stuff I can do, but nothing pressing like it usually is, so I can kind of accomplish things in a more liesurely way, and it's killing me! x( Apparently, I work better under pressure.

So, I told you all that I kind of ate anything and everything I wanted to on my free day Saturday, as opposed to having the free meal I've been planning to allow myself through this challenge. I have to tell you, I think it did me some good. I had been feeling so tired up to that point, and I was having a hard time making it through my workouts. I made it through them, but my weight sessions were taking longer because I'd stretch my breaks out a bit, or my cardios were leaving me wiped. I realize they're supposed to leave me wiped, but toward the end of the week I wasn't able to maintain as much intensity as I'd like. Well, I've noticed the fatigue is gone now. AND, it was so easy to get back to the BFL way of eating after taking a day off. I worried about a slippery slope, but there's something about resigning yourself, and allowing yourself, that one day that makes getting back on track so much easier.

My plan now is to allow myself a whole free day every couple of weeks. I just started my fourth week on Sunday, and I'm finally seeing some changes despite the free day Saturday. So this weekend and next I'll stick to the free meal thing, but the following weekend I'll let loose and re-feed my body again, and enjoy every minute of it.

Yep, that's my plan.

Jennifer

Hello everyone,
I just stopped in to say that I am still with you all.I have continued with my BFL using Cathe of course.Today is not a good day for me though. I have a chest cold or allergies, I don't know which one but I am not feeling well. I am bummed out that this will be my third time missing a cardio workout since we started this challenge. So if you don't
mind telling me how your workouts went today I will live through y'all and cheer you on.I hope to be back tomorrow but today I need the rest.

Hey, I wish we had a park that I could walk. I just don't run anymore.
We really do not have parks here in Midland unless you want to go round and round 100 times.BORING!!!!They are so small.

I'll be back later.
Veronika

Hi Veronika,

So sorry you aren't feeling well. It wasn't too long ago I myself had a nasty headcold and am still feeling that little itch in my throat. It is better to take some time off and get your strength back. In just a few days you should start feeling like your self and come back twice as strong.

I am so frustrated with myself. I keep trying to get in that run at Ravenswood Park and again it didn't happen. My son had another half day of school so I didn't get a chance to go. :-( However I did get in a Cathe cardio instead. I ended up doing LIS like Jill. I added in abs from KPC. I am going to go run on the treadmill for a couple of miles because I am feeling just a little stressed out this evening. I think it is TOM thing coming soon. I always get irritable and edgy a few days before.

Get better soon :D
