BFL Thursday 7/10

Good morning all!

Slept in again today. At least this time I did set the alarm. Didn’t sleep well last night - dog woke me up. I didn’t have it in me this a.m., but I’m only working 1/2 day today. This afternoon DD and I are going to the fair for the dog quiz bowl. The training group the kids are with have entered as a team. I should have time to get something in between work and the fair this afternoon.

I picked up The Abs Diet for Women last night at the library. Right now I’m of the opinion that it’s pretty much BFL by another name. I need to peruse it a bit more to see if it has some good recipes. We also went to DQ after the library, and they had a GS Thin Mint blizzard, which I had to try. Wasn’t as good as the Edy’s ice cream of the same flavor. I can say that I won’t have it to tempt me. Last year when the guys were gone, we went to a different ice cream/frozen yogurt place every night. This year we’re not being quite so bad with the cheats. Good news is that I did go down 4#’s in those weeks leading up to the 4th. Now maybe a few more before the end of summer.

Gayle – Thanks for posting the soup recipe. It looks yummy! Our a/c has been on usually only due to be humidity, but it’s nice and cool right now. I so prefer sleeping with the windows open, and it got down in the 50’s last night. Sweet!

Heidi – I’ll need to do a search for the rotation. I am anxiously waiting for the series to get shipped, but I know it will be a while.

Belinda – I’ll need to check both of those rotations out.

What's on your agenda and what are your GOALS for today?

Me....I was up at 5am again for my workout. I decided on iTread 23, 40 minutes (logged 4 miles) and Core Max 2 on the ball (LOVE that core workout). Upper body is sore today, and that's a GOOD thing!

Headed to school this AM, then the younger kids want to play Monopoly today, so I'll probably get beat at that too! LOL

Gayle-great job with your morning workout,i don't know how on earth your able to workout that early:) i would hurt myself LOL,but i guess if i had too....i would. It would be nice to get it over with early too:)

Sorry i was MIA yesterday,wasn't having a very good day:-( i got turned down for that intership(after i thought i had nailed it) and well took it pretty hard:-(. Im still trying to pick myself up and continue on my quest for a job. I won't give up:)

I will bbl,ive got my neice/sister spending the night with me so i need to do some cleaning! BBL:)

Belinda: Nice job on B&G yesterday! How are your legs today?
So far I am doing pretty well sticking to Renee’s STS rotation with a few modifications.
Today I will be doing an interval workout for my cardio. So my choice is Low Max.

Sherry: How was your PW yesterday? Trying to get in my workouts lately has been a challenge in its self! My sis and aunts dropped by unexpectedly yesterday afternoon so I didn’t get a chance to get back on-line.
How is your DH doing with his workouts these days? Mine is on and off….not very consistent.

I hate those restless nights! I have been having quite a few lately. I did sleep much better last night finally! Oh...I have to admit that I too tried out that new blizzard! Too funny that we both did on the same day! I had to drive to Ipswich to pick up my DD at the trainstation. She wanted to get ice cream so we all went DS and DH too.:)

Gayle: Thank you for the recipe! The sweet potato soup is one from Tosca Reno’s Eat Clean Diet book. If you have her cookbook it is on page 197

Roasted Garlic & Sweet Potato Soup

6 sweet potatoes
1 large cooking onion chopped
1 TB olive oil for browning onions and more for basting potatoes and drizzled garlic
1/2 roasted garlic
6 Cups chicken broth
1 or 2 cups of water

Heat oven to 350
Slice 6 large sweet potatoes in half lengthwise. Brush olive oil on cut surfaces and place cut side down on a baking sheet. Place a whole bulb of garlic (slice off top points) drizzle with olive oil. Bake uncovered for about 45 min or until sweet potatoes are tender.

Saute onions in olive oil and place in food processor. Remove half the potato pulp and place in food processor. Squeeze 1/2 the roasted garlic into the food processor and run until all are puree smooth. Place puree into sauce pan and add remaining sweet potato that has been pureed also along with broth and add water until desired consistency. Cook on medium until thoroughly heated. Enjoy this warm or cold!

h, yah do I have DOMS from B & G yesterday! It got me really good! LOL! I don’t have any DOMS in my UB, maybe I need to go up in weight!?

My DH gave me 1/2 glass of wine last night too so maybe this is why I slept better. ;)
Oh....come to think of it...between the ice cream and wine I better get in my workout today!!!

Just finished my very sweaty Low Max workout! Phew!!! I did the CTX all abs #1 also. }( Great workout!

Off to shower and get DS off to his friends house.

Amelia: I missed your post somehow! I will have to go back and read it....
ETS: Amelia so sorry to hear about that internship! Maybe it isn't all for not....sometimes bad things turn out to be good things in the end. I hope you enjoy your sis and neices visit. My DSis came by yesterday with her daughter for whom I haven't met. She lives now way up in Maine. I hardly ever get to see them. We had a nice visit and hope to have her back in August with the rest of her children.

I took a ½ day off work, but just home (3 hours later) after several errands. We here so I can get some laundry done before we head to the fair.

Gayle – You are awesome! You have been so dedicated to getting up lately. You must be lovin’ the work and hope you are lovin’ the results.

Amelia – So sorry about the internship. ((( hugs))) Sounds like you have the right spirit to keep yourself going.

Heidi – The soup recipe looks yum! That is funny about trying the blizzard. Nice to know I’m not the only one cheating.

Belinda – I’m checking out both those rotations as well as the sts type Heidi mentioned. I need a plan, not so much spontaneity. I’ll let you know about the book.

Someone asked about DH – he was doing ok – wasn’t waking up with me, but according to the kids he was getting in the workouts later in the morning. Both of us fell off later last week, but I think after the guys get back this weekend, we’ll be pumping again. He isn’t too thrilled with the fact I can keep up with Cathe and he can’t sometimes. And I have a competitive spirit.

Hey guys. Just posting quick to answer Heidi's question about BBW. It's Bonus Butt Workout that Cathe wrote up for her Rock Bottoms Rotation, but I can't remember which month it was. It's an awesome and quick lower body blaster, with PLB ball work tacked on. I'm planning on adding it to all my upper body workouts (for now, anyway)!
