HPLECTRA

Cathlete
Hi and Good Morning to you All,

Gayle: How was your race and what was the course like?

Jennifer: It is so nice to have one day just to kick back and read a good book.

Kerry: I am not sure but I think there are weights in 18's or so. I am going to check it out today.
Glad to hear that you have been sleeping better!

Veronika: It is great that you are keeping up with your workouts and eating clean. Great Job!
:)

Today is leg day for me. SH and abs.

Will check in again in a little while. Have to wake up my DD (again!missed the 6am train) and DS.

Take Care,

Yahoo!! Three excellent nights of sleep in a row!

Woke up feeling so well rested that I popped awake at 4:57 am. right before the alarm went off. Didn't even feel like staying in bed:7 :7

Yesterday my eating was right on!

I had to veer away from my Body For Life rotation. I was cruising through the new 4 day split series last night and just go so excited about them that I had to start them today.

I think the enthusiasm from this really fresh new workout may be some of what I've needed to get back into the groove! So I did High Intestity step/back/chest this morning.

Heidi, your DD sounds like my DS. He doesn't have to take the train but I usually have to wake him up or he would never get up to go to school.

Jennifer! Your day on the couch watching football etc. sounds LOVELY!!!

Hope you are all having a wonderful day!
Kerry

GOod morning, ladies. I'm sorry I didn't check in this weekend! It was a CRAZY weekend, but FUN and filled with friends and family, so I'm not complaining.

Saturday's 5K was awesome. I beat my goal time by 4 seconds, and I clocked in at 26:24 and placed 3rd in my age group. The 2 ladies in front of me beat me by just a few seconds each, so I'm very happy with my performance. The course was pretty much a trail run. Gravel and dirt, but they were really wet and covered with leaves. Many people slipped and fell, one lady was all bloody and scraped up. I was in the zone, so I didn't even realize how bad the course was until I was done and actually THOUGHT about the wet leaves! LOL

Yesterday was a Free Day, so I took a DOR and didn't workout. My food was pretty much in line with a Free Day, but I'm not feeling guilty about it at all! I've had great progress these past 3 weeks, and the free day is 'allowed' by BFL, so it is what it is! LOL

Back at it today. This morning was lower body. OUCH again. My hamstrings are STILL a bit tender from Wednesday's leg day, but they stretched out pretty quickly during the deadlifts. What choice did they have, anyway, right? LOL

OK...I have some things I want to get done before I go to school/work. BBL to check in again!

Here's to a ROCKIN WEEK 4!!!!!!!!!!

Gayle

Good morning, everyone!!

It sounds like we're all pretty upbeat and ready to take on a new week.

My DOR yesterday really did the trick for me. By Saturday I had really started to feel discouraged. I was so tired, and just felt like I wasn't getting the resutls I should be getting. But today, not only am I feeling physically rested, but mentally rested as well. I was very free with the diet yesterday, and it sort of felt good not to work out. Initially, I was restless not doing a workout. My body sort of craved it. But I went without one and my body is thanking me for that today! Free day really works wonders for keeping on track. All week long I stayed away from "Unauthorized" foods by telling myself that I could have it Sunday if I wanted. It made me really enjoy yesterday, like it was a reward or something. I made beef stew and ate the cheesecake my BF made (he makes the best!!), I cheered all my sports teams on and I finished my laundry (yay!).

Heidi, enjoy your workout!

Kerry. so glad to hear you're sleeping better!

Gayle, GREAT job on the 5k. That's an awesome time.

Have a great day everyone. BBL...

Jennifer

Hi, Jennifer! I totally agree with you on Free Day. I SO intend to take one each and every week as 'prescribed'. lol It's amazing what you can MAKE yourself do or not eat just by saying that Sunday you don't have to worry about ANY of that!

What I did yesterday, was make a recipe from the EFL cookbook. It was a bit of a splurge, yet on the healthy side.

ENJOY THE DAY!

Gayle

Gayle, your chicken and salsa wrap sounded so good to me that I went out and bought all the stuff to make my own. Eating one right now and it is NUMMMMMMMY!! :9 What kind of wraps do you use?

Hello back from my cat nap! x(

I got up early expecting to get my daughter to the train at 6am. She never got up!x(

I drove my son to school at 8:45am then came home to do some paperwork and computer stuff. I had taken my shower and was ready to head to work to fill some orders but I was so exhausted and spaced out from getting up so early I just went back to bed.

Maybe I am just really tired today but that was odd for me. Now I am up and trying to wake up from that now groggy feeling. I made a triple berry shake and a turkey sandwich for my lunch and am now going to go get my work done.

My daughter (thinks) she is going to her lab at 2:13pm but I sort of doubt she is going anywhere. She got up and did some work and is now back in bed.

Well, I have to go and get something done today! Plus I still have my workout to do. My friend is coming over this afternoon to workout so I will do a leg workout with her.

Kerry: Glad to hear that you are well rested today. Let me know what you think of the new DvD workout. Are you doing the HIS cardio and weights?

Gayle: I love trail runs! Where did you run? I am always looking for new trails or paths to take. I will have to borrow my DD camera and take some pictures of the trail I usually run on to share with you all.

Jennifer: My collection of cookbooks is growing by the day! I now have the EFL, EC diet and EC Cookbook. Just got in today the EC 100 appetizing solutions cookbook. If I try out a recipe and everyone agrees that it is good I put a big YES! at the top of the page. Later I am going to make a recipe index so I can put together meals in a hurry.
So...what's your workout for today? I hope you have a good one! }(

Take Care, BBL:D

"Just got in today the EC 100 appetizing solutions cookbook."

Heidi, I have all the cookbooks you mentioned but that one. My curiosity is piqued! Do tell me a little more, please. ;-)

Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,

Have to run..but the Eating Clean 100 Appetizing Solutions is by Lisa Allen. It is a spiral bound book which is great because it lays flat when looking at the recipes. I have yet to try out the recipes in it though but I did get the triple berry shake from it. Ohhh so good! love fruit of all kinds...except that is DURIAN! MY husband brought this home the other day and boy does it stink! More on that later... ;-)

Take Care,

Jennifer-I usually buy the whole wheat, low carb Wraps Itz by Tam-X-icos. My standby is a soy wrap. I just made a bunch of these this weekend. I like to make a whole bunch, wrap them up individually and keep in the fridge. 30 seconds on high in the microwave and they're PERFECT to eat on the go!!!

Heidi-feel free to share any recipes you mark YES to! I LOVE recipes and have borrowed MANY books from the library over the last year. I've been trying to cut costs, so borrowing from the library has really helped. PLEASE SHARE! LOL
My 5K this weekend was in Bethlehem PA, at a place called Sand Island. It's a really nice place that runs along the local river here.

Gayle

Heidi, LOL! I had to Google Durian, and all I've got to say is that it looks a little scary, especially when the smell is described. Yuck!

Gayle, I don't know the name brand of the ones I bought, but they're also whole wheat and low carb, and sooooo much softer than the last regular whole wheat wraps I bought. I didn't think of heating it up! The salsa I bought was the fresh stuff they sell in the produce section. It was delicious, but my only complaint is that it was watery. Kind of made the tortilla soggy. I'll have to drain it tomorrow, I think.

Hi :)

Yeah, I'll say! The Durian is really stinky! It is a cross between rotten onions and propane. It is no wonder that in Thailand they don't allow people to open these in public places!

My stepmom worked as a teacher for the peacecore and was introduced to this fruit. At first she couldn't get past the smell to try it. But after a few times she fell in love with it and couldn't get enough. So of course my husband loves weird food and wanted to try it out.

This is the second time he has had it and now it is one of his favorite. Ahhhh! I told him he has to keep it outside the house for now on. I can't stand the smell and I definetly don't want it in the fridge! I won't eat for weeks if he does. Boy,,,some diet that would be huh? ;-)

My friend is here so I guess it is time to workout. Catch up later.

:7

Oh, one more thing I will be happy to share recipes!:p Anyone else up for this?

Hi everyone,

I got my leg workout in today and I already have some soreness.

I feel so out of it. I haven't been around and I really think I am out of the loop. Y'all aren't mad at me are you. I really do read everything.

I'll be back.

Veronika

Hey Veronika!:)

Glad your here! We all have had days were we couldn't check-in but it is ok because life gets busy.

How have things been going with you? What workout did you get in today for legs?

I just got back from a fast walk around our block which is 3.5miles with my DD and my friend. My friend is currently doing the SH chest, back workout.

My DD had to get out for a walk because she needed to focus on something else. She just received news of a girl that died in a car accident. This girl is the sister of her close friend from High School. Another bad report is that her other friends mom passed away from breast cancer. Too much in just a few moments! All of this news was in the same evening paper here in Gloucester. Everything seems to come in three's I hope there isn't anything more!

I will have to do my legs tomorrow instead. They are a little sore as is from all the hiking and running on Saturday. Going to go do a good stretch now. I will be back in a bit.

Take Care,
You are always welcome no matter how long you have been away.

;-)
