Good morning ladies.

WEEK 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't believe 2 weeks are behind us already. How are you all feeling? Ready for a STRONG week?

OK...I was up early for upper body. I switched up the exercises and feel great. I went really really heavy again today and I'm really starting to like this method of training. I went out yesterday and bought 55 more pounds of barbell plates. lol That's a good sign.

I'm sporting some good DOMS in my core and upper back from yesterday's yoga. LOVE IT!

I've got an interview at the school in 45 minutes, so I have to get going. HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL CHECK IN TODAY!!!!

Gayle

Good morning, all!!

Gayle, great job on your progress. You must feel fantastic! And good luck on your interview. :)

Heidi, hope your legs are finally recovering. I know how you feel, unfortunately. My legs and butt are screamin' from my last LBWO.

I'm at work, so I'll have to be quick. Eating is going very well, though I did really enjoy my free day on Saturday. If it was chocolate, I ate it. :7 But I think I'm almost fully recovered. I put on a pair of pants this morning that were snug a few weeks ago, and today they are loose. The scale isn't showing any progress, but I do see it at least.

Ran my 5k yesterday, and finished in 27:40. Not too bad. The course was much more challenging than I expected. I had fun and got a great workout in.

It was quiet here yesterday, I see. Was everybody off enjoying their free day?? Hope you're all well. Have a great day everyone!

Jen

Hi Jen,

Yeah, your race went well!:) Glad you had a good time with it. What happened with the pumpkin paddle? Must have been pretty darn cold for anyone falling in!

My legs are feeling much better today. Yesterday I put in my cardio and later in the evening I took a brisk 3mi walk with my daughter around the neighborhood. We never did make to Ravenswood. Next time..

Just finished my upper body workout.
Gym Styles: Back,Shoulders and Biceps
Abs: C&W
Feeling good and ready to get some things done for the day. Starving now and need to get in that snack.

:9

Take care and I will BBL.:7

Hi Ladies ~ Did you all have a nice weekend? :)

It was quiet for me. My DD came home late last night from her Dad's. Did some grocery shopping and cleaned the house., but mostly relaxed, felt good.

Today is a new start! Even though I screwed up this morning :(
HIIT done for the day. Did the Ellpitcal - 20 mins...still feeling a little shaky. :) Felt good! I was able to push to 12.0 mph for my high....Level 5. Not bad, considering I haven't been exercising too much the past few months. Tonight, I plan to do Arms/abs - BBC. I love the ab work in this, got me really good the 1st time. :) I never had DOMS like that before in my abs!

Munching on some CC/Yogurt w/ Banana for lunch. I still have my eggs/light w/w english muffin also that I will eat in a little bit.
Tonight I will have my Shake after my UB....and then probably Fish, and I'm craving a nice BIG salad....Hmmm...could it be almost TOM? :)

Been really busy here at work today.
Will check back later!! Be back in a bit for personals...need to catch up w/ you all :)

Take Care
XoXo

I'm Back :)

Gayle ~ Good Luck on your interview, please let us know how it went! Great Job on upping those weights, You make me feel like a wimp...LOL
2-weeks, this is your 3rd, huh? How you feeling? I took a look at your updated pics, you definitely can see change...:):)
Gotta love Yoga. I need to really start incooperating this into my routine. Do you go to a class, or use a DVD? Who do you like. I went to a live Yoga class w/ Wendy a few weeks back, it was awesome...I had DOMS for days... :)

Heidi~ Sounds like you have a busy day ahead... Hope you have a Great UB workout :)

Jen ~ WooHoo....about your pants, isn't that a great feeling? :)
Unfortually, my pants are getting tighter and tighter :(
Great job on finishing you 5K...:)

I am starting to get depressed....I know I'm whining again ...LOL I'm good at it...:)
My last challenge (although I only got to W5), I was noticing great results, my abs were finally popping through...And then my dang BF had to say, you know you are loosing too much weight...Of course after hearing it and hearing it, I starting to eat... Now look where I am.... :(

Hi Jennifer,

It is nice to have a peaceful weekend now and then huh? I wish my weekends didn't seem so rushed. We have so many things going on here that at times we don't know where to begin.

This morning went ok other than my daughter again decided to take a later train. I really wish she would make that decision before I go to bed the night before so I could sleep a little longer.
Have been good so far today with my eating. Luckily I made ahead small dinners that I can just pop in the micro if my husband decides he is in the mood for pizza or chinese. Last night at 10pm he was cooking King Crab legs!

I know what it is like to have a husband that can eat anything and not worry about his weight. Also, if I start looking thinner he says the same thing that I am losing too much. I'm not at all just gaining muscle and definition here and there.

Well it is now time to get my son from middle school and then on to the flurry of the evening routine.

Jennifer: You are doing good and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Keeping up with a program does take planning at times but we can all do it. Once in the habit it tends to stick and gets easier.

Take Care,

Everyone needs to send me vibes of fortitude tonight. I got last minute notice (very last minute) that my sister is having a birthday party for my nephew tonight. It's very impromptu, so it's hamburgers, hot dogs, cake and ice cream. That's right...not BFL friendly. Hopefully there's at least salad. But if everyone can think "Jen, stay away from the cake!!!" at around 6:30 EST tonight, I think I might be okay. :+ Are you all with me?

Jennifer

Hi Jennifer!

Oh Oh! It is 6:35PM here but I am thinking of you just the same.

Do your best and eat a very small portion if you do have some just to celebrate the occasion with everyone. :7

Thank you, Heidi!! Your timing was perfect actually, and it worked. No cake! Not even a taste. Dinner was half a hamburger and a large salad. Now I'm home and dressed to do my HIIT. Tonight was a mini-victory for me. Woo hoo!

Thanks again,

Jen

Gayle, how did your interview go?

I could not bring myself to do PUB today so I did a power yoga video. I am not sure if I should keep posting with this group right now because my needs have changed lately. I'm still going to follow a loose BFL schedule...3 days a week of cardio, but it will not be all intervals, it will most likely be a mix of elliptical hills, step, and maybe a little Tae Bo. But right now, instead of doing the pyramids I think I am going to be doing power yoga. I think that it will be good for my mental well-being, especially with all the sleep problems I've been having lately. I will also be following the BFL eating plan. I was sure to plan out today's meals last night and I've done really well today. I've said it before and I'll say it again...it's amazing what something as simple as planning out your meals can do for good eating.

Hi Jill,

Going to miss you but there isn't any reason you can't check-in even if your not following the exact workout plan. At least you are following the BFL eating plan. But I don't think of this as a diet or otherwise..just a new way of eating better.

Sincerely,

;( The Sox just lost. ;( Bummer. ;(

Oh well...

Jill, I think that it's important to do whatever you enjoy doing, because the bottom line is that it's consistency that gets us results. So, if yoga works for you right now, that's what you should do. One of my best friends switched about a year ago from high intensity running and weight lifting to strictly yoga, and I have never seen her look better. She's 5'9' or 5'10" and comfortably in size 4s. She does yoga five times a week, and throws in two, maybe three cardios. She loves it, and like I said, looks great. As much of an inspiration as she is though, I just couldn't sign on to the yoga thing at all. It just wasn't for me. So even though I'd love to achieve her results, I couldn't get myself to enjoy it enough to be consistent. On the other hand, since I started BFL I haven't missed a workout and have been able to stick to the eating plan. Obviously, The BFL way is much better for me, and I'm confident I'll get results this way. So...do whatever you think is best for you right now. But don't be afraid to post with us! You're still following the BFL eating plan and cardio, and your approach could add a different perpective to our discussion.

Time for bed. Catch you all tomorrow.

Jennifer

Thanks guys!

Jennifer, I am so picky about my yoga. There are many that I don't like and I do prefer a more athletic power yoga style workout. I really enjoy it but I also really enjoy weights...there's just not enough days in the week to fit in everything that I would like! Maybe once I'm more settled I can get back to the weights because I love how my body responds to them. But school will be quite stressful for the next few weeks so I think the yoga will help manage my stress a little better.

I don't know if I'll get to sign in tomorrow as I have things to do before school and tomorrow is my long lab day. Ugh, I hate chemistry! :p
