BFL Monday 07/07/08

Good morning everybody. I'm back from The Land of The Lost (anybody remember that show???)! I was MIA pretty much all of last week, from everywhere in cyberspace. The kids and I had a busy first half of the week, then it quieted down by Thursday and the holiday weekend was filled with lounging around and enjoying the peace and quiet. I wasn't online pretty much that whole time.

How are you gals? Did I miss anything exciting????

Belinda and Heidi emailed me, so thanks for checking on me guys. Belinda, I replied to your email, but it got sent back to me again. hhhmmmmmm?

The reading program that I'm helping with starts today. I have to admit that it will be so nice to get back on a relatively normal schedule again....up early, workout, get kids' breakfast, out the door, back at a specific time, etc. So I started the day off early at 5:15 with GS Legs. I used a 70# BB and I'm already shaking, so I'll be feeling that tomorrow.

I'll get back on line later today sometime to see how everybody's doing! I've missed you guys, but every now and then, it's nice to take a break from the PC.

Hi Gayle! You are more than welcome and are allowed to start this thread.;-) We all missed you!

I have to agree about getting back to a regular schedule. Summertime is just that...relaxing and keeping cool. The kids stay up way too late and then sleep late. It is hard to plan things for me at this point. DD says she's going in early on the train and then sleeps in. Whereas I get up early to take her and end up waiting around for several hours! x( Very frustrating! Because in that time I could have done 2 Cathe workouts!

So here I sit doing paperwork and drinking coffee. I have many orders for work to take care of today so it will be a busy one later.
DS is headed off to his friends again later this afternoon....that is if they wake up!

Great job on GS Legs this morning! }( I did GS C&T on Saturday and am still feeling it this morning. I was contemplating doing GS Legs today...I'll have to see if I can get my arms up to lift that barbell over my head. :+

Yesterday was a nice TM run with iTread #5 indoor marathon. This was tough and sweaty even doing just the first two phases! Major hills in this one too...just what you like Gayle! Have you ever tried this one?

Hi, Heidi! Yes, I have that iTread and I'll do it tomorrow, assuming my legs will cooperate! LOL I have a feeling I'm going to have some awesome DOMS tomorrow.

I agree that summer is all about the late night hours, the relaxing and keeping cool. Every single summer, though, that lack of a schedule gets me. EVERY SUMMER! Ever since college, I have gained weight every summer because of the late hours, and the late mornings, then I slack on my workouts which isn't really a BIG deal, until I start slacking on my eating. THAT'S WHERE my focus is this summer. Last week was pretty terrible, to be quite honest, but I WILL NOT allow the entire summer to slip by with that bad cycle....so it stops today.

My plan is to kick my own rear for the next 2 1/2 weeks. That takes me right up to the 23rd, which is when I leave for the RT. The 'gang' and I are arriving on that Wednesday for a few early days of hanging with my Cathe friends. I AM PUMPED!

Heidi-seriously, thanks for checking in on me this past weekend. It's awesome to know that somebody's watching! ;-)

OK...kids are all here and ready to rock n roll. I'm taking my older DS and SO's DS to a friend's house by the school and she is taking them to their baseball camp (along with her own son and 2 others, lol). Then I am taking my younger DS and SO's ex's son (with her new DH) to the reading program with me. Did ya catch all that? lol

Wow! I did catch all that and it sounds like a very busy day for you.
Here's to kicking each other to get back on track!!! I started off this weekend ok until last night. The boys ordered pizza...bacon and pineapple and I ended up eating one slice. I didn't get much to eat during the cookout and I was starving!!! I know...not the best choice but at least I only had one slice right!? I filled up on watermelon trying to comfort myself into believing things will be better today. :)

That is so great that you are going to the RT. My DH told me that I could have gone....way after the fact though!!! Phooey!

Well I hear DD getting ready to go so I better get my jeans on.

Im waiting on my coffee,im such in a blah mood too:-( I guess i still haven't recovered from the weekend!

I never did workout yesterday,i decided to take a recovery week! I haven't had one this year yet and i usualy take alteast two a year! So i will be walking the dog,doing some Powerwalks and doing some core work this week and thats it! No weights!

Gayle – It’s great to have you back! I agree, taking time away from the PC sometimes is good. :) We were out in the yard so much last week, I didn’t have much chance to check in either. ;) Good job on the workout, GS Legs is my favorite Cathe leg workout (for now anyway, lol). Good luck with your first day of work today.

Heidi – My son’s are night owls too, especially the oldest one. Him and his two friends are up most of the night several times a week then he has to get up for work about 1:00 pm. I honestly don’t know how he does it, lol. I love Grace’s iTread marathon workouts, I think they are my most used iTreads because I string them all together for my long runs. :)

Amelia – Enjoy your recovery week!

Yesterday I did RPM 39 (spinning workout) + warmup & strength/cardio intervals of Med Ball Madness. This morning I did Body Pump 61 + iClimb Core (running on the treadmill for the elliptical segments…got in 2.25+ miles)….I really enjoy the med ball segments on this one.

All of us went to IHOP for breakfast yesterday (boys, daughter, SIL) and then we went up to Costco to look around. Came back and put in a movie and all fell asleep on the couch, lol. It was actually a VERY nice rest day. Back to work for me today!

Hi Kathy and Amelia,

Just finished ALL of GS Legs. I might not be able to walk tomorrow!}( My inner thighs must have got a workout yesterday from the hills on iTread #5 because I found this to be difficult to do today.

Kathy: Your workout sounds great today! What is or where do you find the RPM 39 workouts? Med ball madness eh? I am still trying to get used to Cathe's med ball workouts with an 8# med ball.
How is your poison ivy clearing up? I hope that it is all gone now.
I have to go up to Costco sometime this week also. You just have to enjoy a rest day now and then.:)

My mixed up schedule sort of gave me a couple of rest weeks and now I am back in the game. I can't believe I am soooo sore from these workouts that I haven't done in a while!:eek:

im done with my dogwalk and powerwalk for a total of 60min cardio! Maybe my ebay winnings will be here by the end of the week,cant wait to preview them:7

Hey guys! Great workoutssssssss!!! WOO HOO! ! Don't we just ROCK? lol

We're back from the summer 'camp', as they're calling it (anything term other than Summer School works, I guess! LOL). What fun!!! I'm working 1-on-1 with a 5th grader (going into 6th grade) who is wheelchair-bound. I'm with her the whole session, and it's awesome. She's a funny girl with a good sense of humor. although she has her specific needs, she's pretty self-sufficient and independent....she needs me to get her from room to room, keep her focussed on the rare ocassions that she loses her focus, but most importantly I sit by her side during snack time to be sure she doesn't choke. Since she's so independent and functions well in the classroom, it allows me to help out the rest of the class as well. I LOVE IT, although it IS just day #1! HA!

Meals so far today, for accountability:
M1: oatmeal with ground flax
M2: banana
M3: grilled chicken in a low carb wrap

Hi all!

So it's 7:00. I'm home alone. Guys are camping and DD is at a friend's house. So what will I do? Clean the house of course. How sad is that! Looks like the rain will stop soon, so I also intend to get in a run. I slept in late the morning because I cleaned until late last night. Just clutter to pick up today.

Oh - looks like the rain is stopping - I'm out the door!
 
Sherry- enjoy your run! What time are you coming over to my house? LOL! I have been gone all afternoon, I had no time to clean house! After my appointment I stopped at Costco, I had to pick up my frames for my glasses ( the glasses I will get in Germany, the make thinner than here in the US)! America has to many crazy laws! LOL! I am not running around in bifocals! If you know what I mean!

Sorry Belinda, can't help you out. Just got my place uncluttered - the first floor anyway. Went for 3 miles. Dog wanted to go so was a powerwalk instead of a run. Also got in a powerwalk at lunch.
