BFL Hump Day 07/09

Good morning ladies. Happy Hump Day. The week is just about half over.....what's on your agenda for the rest of the week???

I started the day early with a great GREAT workout! I started off with CTX Upper Body. LOVE that workout. Then I tacked on the BBW (Bonus Butt Workout) from Cathe's Rock Bottom Rotation (forget which month it was). The BBW had a set of squats (75#), 2 sets of one-legged lunges (30#), plie squats (75#), 2 sets of leg presses (24#), deadlifts (I went light with 30#), wall squats and explosive lunges. THEN it finishes with the ball work from PLB! Yeah, I was a sweaty ol' mess!

Now I'm enjoying my oatmeal with ground flax and then I must dry my hair and get us all ready to go for the day. The forecast is humid with rain, so I may not get the grass mowed (oh, how sad does that NOT make me? LOL).

BBL sometime to chat!

Gayle

Hi Gayle and Good Morning ladies,

Gayle: Let the grass grow! It is better for it anyway and keeps it from drying out in all this heat.:) My DS was going to mow it yesterday for me but DH said that it wasn't long enough...at almost 3"!
Great workout this morning! I was planning on GS B,B&S. I have my cardio workout to do also. I never did get that run in yesterday. After the orthodontist I spent the rest of the night cooking up stuff for quick light meals. It is going to be pretty sticky the next couple days even with thunderstorms ahead. We were in the 90's yesterday and boy did I feel it! I hate the heat!!!

Hey how was your soup Gayle?

Belinda: So which lower body rotation did you decide on?

Great job everyone on their workouts yesterday! }(

I hope you all stay cool and enjoy your workout and day!

BBL Heidi

Hi, Heidi. Yeah, it's supposed to be super humid again today, but after the T-storms roll thru later, the humidity is going to drop dramatically for the next 4 days or so! Thank goodness. If you can believe it, I haven't put the a/c on! LOL We're all gone during the day, and when we're ALL home at 3:15 or so, there's a nice breeze. For sleeping, we all have a fan, so I just can't justify putting it on yet. I figured if we can get thru today, I'll be fine with the lower temps. (oh, plus I'm cheap and trying to save money, lol).

Enjoy your workout. What kind of meals did you make?
My soup was DELISH! It made 12 servings that were almost 2C and it's less than 150 calories. When I get a chance later, I'm going to post it here for you all to enjoy! It's yummy. On hot days, I like to just heat the soup a little bit to take the COLD chill out of it, and I eat it cooled/warmed (if that makes sense). This way it kind of helps to cool me off. lol

ANYWAY....must get out the door! HI TO EVERYBODY WHO FOLLOWS!!!!!!!

Gayle

Good morning Gayle, Heidi and all who follows!

Today I will do Butts & Guts!}(

Gayle** sounds like a tough workout this morning! How are your legs felling? I need to check out BBW! I wished I didn't had to use the AC every day, put it's to HOT here!

Heidi** No, I haven't decided on my next rotation! What are your plans for today?

Have a great workout and day!

Hello,

Belinda: I just finished iTread #11 40min run. This is a great fat-burner at a moderate pace. I also did GS Back,Biceps and Shoulders.
I am sort of following the STS rotation from Renee.
Have fun with B&G! I did the abs on this the other day and am still feeling it! }(
How is your DD doing with her workouts?

Gayle: I made up different types of grilled chicken for salads and Kabobs. We had chicken kabobs with mushrooms and red onions, jasmine rice and broc last night for dinner. The other chicken is made ahead for a cob salad for this afternoon. I would love to try out your soup recipe!:9 I made a sweet potato soup with roasted garlic and this was really yummy! My DD really liked it too! She has been taking leftovers to work.

I have the same question Gayle...how are your legs from Monday's workout? I did the GS legs and the calf raises really got me
good! }(

Have a good one ladies! Hello to all that I missed!:7
BBL Heidi

Hi girls,

I am done with Butts & Guts! Yah!

Heidi, nice job on your run! I am not sure if I got iTread # 11? I like a slower pace! LOL! I bought a bunch of iTreads, but I don't remember what I bought! How do you like Renees rotation so far?

Belinda

Hello! Sneaking in at work again today.

Slept in the a.m. – forgot to set the alarm. Big OOPS! Thank goodness we have the dog. Heading out for a powerwalk at lunch in a few minutes. Need to get the weight work in.

Last night I was scrapbooking with some friends. I saw an adorable photo of my DD and her BFF, but my big hips were in the background. Yup, I’m building muscle, but need to get the cardio going to get rid of the fat that’s covering it.

Gayle – I forgot about the rock bottoms rotation. I like how it’s short yet really works the legs. And forget about the grass. I am. DH didn’t get it mowed before he left for camp, and I’m hoping it makes it until he gets back.

Heidi – You have trouble getting in the runs, too, with all t he running around for everyone else? Glad I’m not the only one. Great job getting all those meals made ahead of time.

Belinda – Which Fitness Freak rotation were you doing? I’m needing something to shock my system.

Ok, now off to powerwalk. Humidity is down, and for the first time in days there is no rain in the forcast.

Hey guys.

I ended up cutting the grass. lol I'm am SUCH a delayed gratification gal....get it done NOW so that LATER I can do something else! So, the grass is good for 4 more days! HA!

My legs were a bit sore yesterday from Monday's GS Legs, but not as sore as I had expected. Today, my core is sore from the KPC abs that I did yesterday, and DOMS are ALREADY setting in in my bis and tris from this morning's CTX UB. The BBW is awesome and got me workin up a sweat all on its own! lol Tomorrow I'm planning on cardio, just not sure what yet. I may do one of the new 6 (yes, SIX) iTreads I just bought with my credits yesterday. Or perhaps one of the CCs I haven't tried yet. GEESH! All these decisions!

Oh, and the humidity is getting lower and lower, so I'm happy I held out on putting on the a/c.

Heidi-that sweet potato soup sounds delish! Care to share???

OK...here's the recipe for my new soup:

Vegetable Barley Soup
1 large sweet potato, peeled and cubed
1 1/2 C fresh baby carrots, halved
1 1/2 C frozen cut green beans
1 1/2 C frozen corn
3 celery ribs, thinly sliced
1 small onion, chopped
1/2 C chopped green pepper
2 garlic cloves, minced

1 C medium pearl barley
1 bay leaf
1 3/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp fennel seed, crushed
1/4 tsp pepper
1 can (14.5 oz) Italian diced tomatoes, undrained

In a 5-qt crcokpot, combine the first 8 ingredients.
Stin in the water, broth, barley, bay leaf and seasonings.
Cover and cook on low for 8-9 hours or until barley and veggies are tender.
Stir in tomatoes; cover and cook on high for 10-20 minutes or until tomatoes are heated through. Discard bay leaf before serving.
